Daniel Rozin loves to create mechanical and virtual mirrors, inviting the viewer to participate in the completion of his artwork. His latest piece is no different. The PomPom Mirror uses tufts of fake black and beige fur as pixels to generate a “reflection.”
According to Bitforms Gallery, which is currently where PomPom Mirror is exhibited, the piece has 464 motors, each controlling a black and a beige fur puff. A camera mounted on top of the mirror captures the silhouette of whatever’s in front, which is then reflected by the fur after a short delay.
Daniel also has another new mirror on display at Bitforms gallery. This one uses toy penguins to mimic silhouettes:

This fur coat is definitely unusual. In fact, some might find it downright disgusting, as it’s definitely not what it might appear to be. What you think is the fur is actually hair–hair from the chests of living, breathing men. If you’re wondering why someone would create an abomination a coat like this, then wonder no more: it’s part of an ad campaign by dairy company Arla.
They commissioned for the creation of the fur coat, which took designers over 200 hours to weave and put together millions of strands of hair, to promote the launch of Wing-co, which is their new milk drink that’s made for men.
Arla describes Wing-co as a “chocolate milk drink with added protein directed at men in their 30s and 40s.” What that has to do with chest hair, I do not know.

Looks like the Wookie won. The aptly named Let the Wookie Win skateboard, created by Geoff McCleary, is a 44″ longboard inspired by the inimitable Chewbacca. Hand painted bandolier on raised wood and (allegedly faux) Wookie fur on top of a pressed Canadian maple deck with 7″ Core trucks and Bigfoot wheels make this a Force to be reckoned with.
