Hellgirl Stained Glass Window Is a Hell of a Piece of Art

I was a big fan of the original Hellboy movies with Ron Perlman as our cigar-chomping red hero. But as much as I enjoyed that series, I’ve never delved deep into the comics, so I’m not too familiar with Hellgirl. That said, now that I’ve seen this stained glass image of her, I’m intrigued.

This amazing work of stained glass art was handmade by Art Brothers Glass, in the classic Tiffany style. And no, I’m not talking about the 1980s mall-pop singer. This intricate piece measures a whopping 41.3″ x 38.6″, and was made using 1470 individual pieces of glass.

This piece was created as a commission work for a Hellgirl fan in Poland, but Art Brothers would be happy to make you a custom piece like it. Something this big and intricate will set you back as much as $10,000, but there are lots of smaller and less complex pieces in their Etsy shop, with prices starting as low as $35. I particularly love the stained glass full moon piece they made with astronauts and a satellite hanging from it.

Hellboy Hell Water Cinnamon Whiskey: The Devils Brew

You know that booze is gonna be good if the name has “Hell Water” in it. This is the officially licensed Hellboy ‘Hell Water’ cinnamon whiskey. It is made in collaboration between XXX Distillery and Dark Horse Comics. So, you know, feel free to get drunk and read comics.

Drinking this small-batch Tennessee whiskey while reading the comics is bound to change the story in your mind. One comic book will become many. This spicy stuff is 66.6-proof and costs $20 per 750mL bottle over at Ace Spirits.

Real Hellboys drink Hell Water brand whiskey!

Hellboy and Darth Maul Cosplay Mashup: Sithboy

I’ve always thought that Darth Maul was a bit lame. I’m sorry. He just seemed half-finished and you couldn’t really root for the guy or against him. He was just kind meh, IMO. But mix him up with Hellboy? Oh yes. This looks like a Sith Lord to be feared and admired.

I would have never thought of this in a million years, but this combo is just awesome. This mashup is called Sithboy. I like the name Hell Maul better, but that’s just me. This epic cosplay was created by Luis Projects, with photos taken by James Rulison. He really looks scary as hell.

If Darth Maul had looked like this in The Phantom Menace, I might have taken him seriously, instead of laughing at him. This is a Sith you never turn your back on. He carries a gun and a lightsaber. How badass is that?

Comic Book Heroes as Medieval Knights [NSFW]

attachment

Super heroes or just superbly improved Ninja turtles need to change with time. Not everything that worked in the 1930′s or whenever a character makes its debut still applies 80 years later. Yes, I’m talking about you, Superman. But maybe going backwards is the way to go.

Medieval settings seem to be kind of a ...
