This modern indoor BBQ grill is inspired by the mechanism of an air purifier!

Missing the BBQ parties during game nights and holidays in quarantine? This conceptual BBQ grill, Campin, makes it possible to still enjoy it indoors (perhaps with fewer people, and if it is just yourself then you won’t even have to share food!) while following the COVID-19 restrictions about outdoor activities and gatherings. BBQ parties are almost a cultural tradition to celebrate events big and small, and while traditionally one has to have a backyard for it, you can now enjoy it thanks to Campin within the comfort of your home without the need for the extra outdoor space – a huge blessing for the urban demographic who is cooped up inside in the pandemic.

It has two core parts – the BBQ bowl at the top and the bottom base. The BBQ bowl has a metal container that houses the whole setup including the intake vent, a charcoal bowl, a grill, and a lid. These pieces are modular and can be separated for easy cleaning and management. There is an LED located under the BBQ bowl that illuminates the lower side and making it look like there is a real fire for the ‘right vibes’.  Campin lets you grill with a charcoal fire by using the specific charcoal bowl for that authentic taste. The smoke is sucked in through the intake vent outside the grill and it is purified and discharged through the filter structure inside the body – the mechanism is similar to an air purifier. The lower part in front of the base includes an outlet to discharge the purified air.

Another thoughtful detail that saves space and reduces mess is the little storage compartment in the bottom – all sauces, seasonings, and dips can be put in here so there is no need for extra counter space or a runner who has to keep going back and forth to the kitchen. Campin can be charged when not in use via the charging port on the rear end of the base making it functional and portable. With this product, you won’t need an invite to a backyard BBQ anymore or have to wait for restrictions to ease up, just fire up that grill and celebrate that you made it through yet another day of 2020.

A modern fireplace designed to showcase the flames and keep you mesmerized!

There is something about looking into flames that brings us closer to our inner self and keeps us transfixed there. However, with the advent of electric heating devices, we no longer get to sit and relish this experience at our homes. There are many who still keep a traditional fireplace or a gas stove in their houses. But, their purpose is limited to either heating or cooking and the flames are always entrapped in a black industrial frame that does not do justice to their spell-binding liveliness.

Designer Jeong Kim has taken a rather unique approach to this idea by designing a stove that showcases the flames in their captivating brilliance. He has created ‘Contact Surface’, a stove that also works as an ornamental piece to go with your furniture. The design is as much attractive as it is functional. The body features a glass door with various color gradients and a lever on the side which locks and unlocks the door. The action of opening however is vertical, keeping the hot glass safely away from the user’s touch and in steady movement instead of having it swing around randomly. At the top is also a regulator which controls the flow of oxygen into the stove. It also comes with a removable bin to collect and dispose of any ash or other particles that might accumulate.

The designer felt that traditional stoves made a rather abrupt break between flames and their surroundings. And thus, was born ‘Contact Surface’ which gently eases the separation between flames and the space around them.

The Circle Smartwatch’s tilted body and minimalist design give it an aesthetic advantage

With an approach that strikes a fine balance between tech, sensibility, and sheer artistry, the Circle Watch is truly #smartwatchgoals. It’s beautiful to look at, has an edge-to-edge circular display, runs an incredibly clean UI, and comes with a body that looks unusual at first, and then makes a world of sense after.

The Circle Watch’s body sits on the watch-strap at an angle, leaning towards the user. Designed to make it easier to read the time without tilting your wrist too much, the Circle watch’s own inherent 15° tilt gives you a clear view of the watch’s always-on display at all times. This tilt also creates space for a button right behind the Circle’s body, allowing it to remain otherwise thin and minimalistic. The button hides from view (unlike in the Apple Watch, where the crown forms a significant part of the watch’s aesthetic), giving you a smartwatch that just feels clean and sophisticated, and focuses on the good stuff with a convenient, tilted UX and a boundless, edge-to-edge UI.

The Bouquet coffee dripper looks like a pretty vase, but is not one!

Inspired by the beauty of a bouquet of flowers, designer Jeong Kim has envisioned the Bouquet coffee dripper. Technically, it’s just a coffee pot, with a dripper that scrunches up to look like a vase. The rubber pad around the pot acts like insulation, so that you can hold the hot pot and pour out your brewed coffee.

Aesthetically, it is a beautiful design, that hopes to make us stop and smell the roses… or freshly brewed coffee, as the case may be!

Designers: Jeong Kim & Weekend-works

It consists of a pot and a dripper just like other coffee drippers. The step inside the spout of the pot allows dripper to maintain a horizontal angle.

A Premium Case for Your Premium Device

For many, their smartphone is like an extension of themselves, and therefore it should be protected and kept safe… especially considering their extortionate price! But with a vast array of protective gear on the market, it can be overwhelming to know which to choose, but the BRICK phone case does things differently, and this makes it stand out amongst the sea of cases.

Much like the movement of the conventional draw, the smartphone slides horizontally into its protective surround; the case is made up of two components, and internal section, which the phone sits within, and the outer framework, which offers the protection. Much like its name would suggest, BRICK carries an angular aesthetic, which forms a juxtaposition against the roundness of many modern devices. An element of luxury has been created through the careful selection of colors and subtle detailing, allowing for the case to complement the premium device.

When Fashion Meets Function

In an ideal world our devices would be able to make it through the day on a single charge and we wouldn’t be constantly on edge about being stranded with a lifeless device, or witnessing our disappointed and lost reflections in the blank screen of our, now useless, phones.

Until this day comes we will have to make-do with carrying around powerbanks, but TASSEL may make this task slightly more bearable. Powerbanks often carry a rather utilitarian aesthetic and this may interfere with your clothing style or current trends; TASSEL combats this by featuring a sleek and minimal outer casing, where just four LEDs feature on its otherwise uninterrupted design.

The cable, which is inspired by the tassels often found on women’s bags, means that the user needn’t worry about ever losing the cable, therefore they are still able to conveniently charge their device to ensure they are never left feeling lost without it.

The elegance your workspace needs

lay_desk_1

Finding its intersection between the two categories of products that dominate our workspace, the LAY combines tech and stationery. Using a simple boolean union of forms, the LAY serves as a plug-point for your laptop charger as well as a power brick for your phone, while the V-shaped element lets you store supplies, writing equipment, or even notepads, etc.

The speckled terrazzo-inspired paint job on the LAY’s power brick/adapter breaks its mass in a way that doesn’t make it look like an unsightly block, but rather something more delightful looking… which is a good thing, because most tech accessories have a tendency to look blockish, utilitarian, and just plain ugly. LAY’s use of simple intersecting forms, intriguing CFM, and its ability to have the utility of a tech product with the aesthetic of a tabletop stationery stand, however, make it a breath of fresh air!

When earphones and jewelry design converge

od_earphones_1

Designed to look like ornaments, rather than those Bluetooth headsets you see businesspeople and security details wearing, the OD Earphones are truly wireless, but come with a cord that connects the earpieces together in a way that looks tasteful while making sure you don’t lose one earpiece on a crowded train.

The elegantly styled OD is named after the two visual elements that comprise it. The O-shaped audio driver, and the D-shaped metal ring that gives the earphones character as well as a place to hang the connecting cord from. They even dock seamlessly into the charging case, and can easily be removed by simply sliding your finger under the D-Ring to take each earpiece out. Designed with classic color combos like black and silver, white and rose gold, and my personal favorite, olive green and gold, the OD may perform like earphones, but they look like haute couture!

Sweet Side Of Gardening

The Sweet Pot is an innovative plant pot design where the bottom basin acts as a growth patch for extra grass. Essentially the design takes care of excessive watering and drainage at the same time. More like the extra water acts like a feed for the grass patch at the bottom, hence no drains required. The Sweet Slide is a tool that aids watering the plant comfortably. Super cute and super efficient!
