LEGO K.I.T.T. Will Tolerate Your Mullet

I really miss TV shows from back in the ’80s. So many of those series had cool and iconic cars. Knight Rider was among my favorites. Fans of the show will want to check out this LEGO version of K.I.T.T. from the show.

The builder of this sweet LEGO Technic car goes by thewdarren, and he did an amazing job with the model. The car looks like the tricked out Trans Am that K.I.T.T. was based on, complete with headlights that pop up and doors that open.

The builder even recreated the wild curved dash and hand grip steering wheel for the model. The only thing missing are blinking LEDs and a chatty voice assistant.

This really should be an official LEGO K.I.T.T. (see what I did there?)

MacBook Pro Touch Bar Turns Into Knight Rider’s KITT

I’ve seen a few programs take advantage of the new MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar already, but most of them are there to do something useful. How boring. What you need is to upgrade your MacBook Pro into the KITT 2000, the hyperintelligent car from the 1980s TV series, Knight Rider.

Developer Anthony Da Mota’s KnightTouchBar 2000 does just that, loading up the laptop’s skinny OLED touch panel with the chasing red light bar seen in the grille of the iconic Pontiac Trans Am. I suppose it could also double as the light in a Cylon raider’s helmet. You can see it in action in the brief clip below (which is running on a Touch Bar emulator):

It even plays the Knight Rider theme song while running – though I could see that getting pretty annoying. You can download KnightTouchBar 2000 over on GitHub for free.

Knight Rider Back to Future DeLorean: Back to the Hasselhoff

Two of our favorite cars just got mashed up head on at 88 MPH, with Michael Knight behind the wheel of one and Doc Brown behind the wheel of the other. Yes, one ambitious fan has taken a classic DeLorean and transformed it into a mashup of the time machine from Back to the Future and Michael Knight’s classic car K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider.

The result is a sassy time traveling DeLorean with an attitude. This isn’t new. It’s from 2013, but it is just too cool so I had to share it. Sadly, it doesn’t really talk like K.I.T.T., but it is a great replica of what these two cars would look like together.

This is probably how they should have brought back Knight Rider.

Turn Your Car into K.I.T.T. with a Knight Rider Charger

knight rider kitt usb charger
You don’t need a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am to ride like Michael Knight (although it would certainly help) when you have a Knight Rider K.I.T.T USB Car Charger. This dual port USB charger turns any car into K.I.T.T. Just plug it into your car’s 12v power socket, put on your leather jacket, back your car out of a moving tractor trailer, fire up the pulsating lights on your hood, cue up your instrumental theme song, and you’re ready to roll like David Hasselhoff. It’s just that easy.
knight rider car charger
Beside the trademark KITT lights, the charger also speaks one of 11 different Knight Rider phrases like “I am a Knight Industries 2000 with a thousand megabits of memory and a 1 nanosecond access time.” Back in the 1980’s every show on TV had a signature car and none were cooler than Knight Rider’s (settle down A-Team van, Magnum PI and Dukes of Hazzard General Lee fans, settle down because you know it’s the truth). And now you’re one step closer to living the dream. And remember, no matter what, seriously no matter what- don’t hassle the Hoff.

Knight Rider K.I.T.T. USB Car Charger

I’ve always wanted my own K.I.T.T. car, but I didn’t want to do the whole fake my own death, change identities and get a face change thing. Luckily, now I don’t have to thanks to ThinkGeek who are offering a USB charger that looks like KITT’s voicebox from the ’80s series Knight Rider.

I know you can hear the Knight Rider music in your head now. Me too. I may even have to play it for real, because that theme is awesome. This charger has light bars that sync to the audio, and it plays 11 different phrases from the show. Obviously it is perfect for your 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, but it will work in any car. It plugs right into your cigarette lighter.

I’m not sure why it too Knight industries so long to make it public. At only $29.99(USD) this is too cool not to buy.
