Battle Mech Goomba Is Ready to Defend the Mushroom Kingdom

Of all of the characters in the Super Mario games, I think the Goombas are some of the most innocuous and easy to deal with. But in the hands of toy customizer KodyKoala, one particular Goomba is a serious badass.

This custom-made figure features a Goomba decked out in armor and ready to do battle against any plumbers who dare to jump into the Mushroom Kingdom. He made the 6″ tall figure by cobbling together a bunch of different toys. I love the spiky turtle shells attached to his gauntlets. His green body almost looks like one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but the feet are wrong for that.

The NES cartridge backpack is also a really nice touch, painted up with “Blow me” graffiti. If you love this guy as much as I do, head over to KodyKoala’s Etsy shop where you can grab this awesome custom toy for $112.

Pac-Man Monster Truck: Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! Wakka! Wakka! Wakka!

A while back, toy modder KodyKoala built an epic Yoshi mech and an equally awesome Luigi. I was poking around over on Etsy this morning when I stumbled onto another great build by Kody.

The vehicle is a mashup of a Pac-Man bank and a non-functional R/C 4×4, among other bits. I’m not sure what the deal is with the bunny rabbit sidekick though.

I’m pretty sure if Pac-Man had this monster truck in the maze, he would have been able to run down every ghost, whether blue any other color for that matter.

Unfortunately, the Pac-Man Monster Truck was a custom build for a customer and has already been sold. I’m hoping to convince Kody to build a massive Q*bert with wings, so it could fly over that entire pyramid and skip the whole swearing thing.

Wheatley Gets a Body

Despite being just a hovering orb, Portal 2′s Wheatley is arguably one of the greatest video game characters of all time. At least one of the greatest video game characters without arms or legs. Now, the disembodied, moronic sphere has a body of his own.

This awesome custom Wheatley action figure was made by Technabob fave toy hacker Kody Koala. His body was made using various parts from robot toys, while Wheatley himself started off as a keychain. Kody sculpted his portal gun and trusty companion cube from scratch. Yikes, Wheatley with a portal gun can’t possibly be a good idea.

If you think that Wheatley deserves a body of his own, open a portal over to Etsy where you can buy this epic custom action figure for $160(USD). Of course, knowing how idiotic Wheatley is, he’d probably trip over himself if he had legs.

Guts Man Operation: It Takes a Very Steady Hand!

Perhaps it was because it gave me the chance to pretend I was a surgeon at age 10, or maybe it was just the risk of tiny shocks that made Operation one of my favorite childhood games. Of course, as I grew up, video games took over, and Mega Man was certainly in heavy rotation on my NES console. So when I saw this game which combines Operation and Mega Man, I though it would have been perfect for me when I was a kid.

This customized Operation game features the mighty and powerful Guts Man from the Mega Man games in place of Cavity Sam - yes, that guy had a name. It was made by toy hacker Kody Koala, who previously gave us the grotesque Gutsman anatomy doll. This mod got its start as an Iron Man Operation game and a Guts Man vinyl toy, bogth transformed by Mr. Koala into an awesome version of the classic electronic board game. As expected, all of his innards hanging out for you to perform various -ectomies on.

In place of classic guts like the Funny Bone and Spare Ribs, Guts Man has a Frozen Heat Pump and a Rusted Underbelly. The game is fully-functional, and even includes custom Gutsman inspired money to play with.  Of course, his chest light illuminates if you make any surgical gaffes – though I’m not sure what sounds he makes when you goof up. I’m guessing the ones from Iron Man Operation, since he has the exact same part names.

Of course, all of this awesomeness doesn’t come cheap. You’ll need to save up $225(USD) to get your hands on this thing. But if you’ve got the dough kicking around (and not Monopoly money), then head on over to Etsy and grab it up, before another budding surgeon does.

Super Mario Hungry Hungry Hippos: Get the Most Marbles with Your Koopa

We don’t have nearly enough Super Mario inspired board games and this one is a work of sheer genius, turning Hungry Hungry Hippos into an amazing Koopa battle where you eat everything that you can.

This awesome game is the work of crafter KodyKoala, who spent about 50 hours modifying a standard Hungry Hungry Hippos game into a work of video game art. All I know is if Mario found himself in this Koopa-filled arena, he surely would be dead.

Each Koopa model took about 10 hours to complete and if you absolutely have to own it, the game will be going up for sale at the El Paso Comic Con on September 14th. The detail is amazing. So, who wants to buy it?
