LEGO Creations by master builders that elevate this popular children’s game to a whole new mindblowing level!

Remember when we spent our summer vacations and free time after school fiddling around with LEGO blocks, and sometimes painfully stepping on them with our feet? Fun times, right? But, LEGO is no more considered child’s play! Master builders, artists, and LEGO enthusiasts all over the world are creating impressive LEGO builds that’ll blow your minds away. They are a result of their hours of dedication, attention to detail, hard work, and creativity. They can be considered works of art, and I love scrolling through these creations, admiring them, and feeling an intense surge of satisfaction at their perfection. And, we’ve curated the best of the lot for you to drool and go gaga over!

1. The LEGO Kumbi Saleh 3020 CE

Using over 100,000 LEGO pieces, designer Ekow Nimako imagines the Kumbi Saleh 3020 CE a Ghanaian metropolis 1000 years in the future. This artwork is the centerpiece for his exhibition titled Building Black Civilizations and showcases details like nothing you have ever seen before, almost reminiscent of the Game of Thrones title sequence!

2. The LEGO Ideas Antique Cash Register

Built to absolute stunning detail, the LEGO Ideas Antique Cash Register models itself directly on the National Cash Register Model 452 – a popular cashier’s machine from the 19th Century, designed and developed in Ohio at the start of the era of retail businesses. The LEGO variant, however, is the brainchild of a Master Builder who goes by the name of dimexart, and uses a whopping 2055 pieces to come together.

3. The LEGO Imperial Light Cruiser

The latest LEGO sets include the Moff Gideon’s Imperial Light Cruiser (which I’m surely going to add to the collection), Imperial Armored Marauder, and the bounty hunter Boba Fett’s Starship. The highlight of them all is the Imperial Light Cruiser (75315) which comes with a bridge (doubles as a handle for flying action), large spring-loaded shooters, and dual mini TIE Fighters. How could the LEGO set not have the main leads – that’s why it also comes with The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda minifigures along with the infamous villain Moff Gideon, Fennec Shand, Cara Dune, and the Dark Tropper too.

4. The LEGO Ideas Home Alone Set

The LEGO Ideas Home Alone set is your childhood fantasy come to life! You can now build, and spend time at the iconic Mcallister home. It’s the perfect way to kickstart Christmas! The LEGO home opens up, allowing you to access all the little rooms of the Mcallister residence. Laying traps has never been this easy and fun!

5. The LEGO Ship In A Bottle

Looking every bit like the real deal, the Ship In A Bottle is the latest from the clever master-builders at LEGO Ideas who churn out magical numbers such as the LEGO Typewriter we saw recently. Made using 962 pieces of LEGO (although a majority of them are just the water under the ship), the Ship In A Bottle comes with everything you’d expect, including a ship with 3 sails, a transparent bottle, a stand, a nameplate (the ship’s called the Leviathan), and even a cork-stopper made from LEGO bricks!

6. The LEGO AT-AT

You can now build a tribute to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back with the largest LEGO AT-AT yet. The cool build is even equipped with rotating cannons and a bomb-drop hatch! Not to mention two little speeder bikes are included in it as well!

7. LEGO The Chamber of Secrets

Ethan Johnson (@ekjohnson_1) created this amazing Harry Potter-themed build which features The Chamber of Secrets. From a LEGO Harry to all the monstrosities you could find in The Chamber of Secrets – this build is as accurate and intricate as it gets!

8. LEGO The Colosseum

LEGO’s largest-ever set is an accurate and mind-boggling replica of The Colosseum! The intricate design, the attention to detail, and the medieval feels take me right back to the streets of Rome. This one is a must-try for all the history fanatics!

9. LEGO Boba Fett’s Starship

This LEGO brick version of Boba Fett’s Starship by Robert Whitehead (@shundeez_official) is as epic and majestic as it gets! It’s perfect for those bounty-hunting missions and battles that await you in the Star Wars world!

10. LEGO Wooden Homeware Collection

LEGO recently teamed up with the Danish design brand Room Copenhagen to create a warm and minimal homeware collection that includes wall hangers, picture frames, desk drawers, and book racks. The products mimick quite a few of the iconic LEGO elements – from the single stud to other easily recognizable pieces. And of course, all the items have been embellished with the iconic LEGO lettering! The full collection consists of a Wall Hanger Set (set of three), a picture frame, a book rack, two Desk Drawer options – 2×2 and 2×4.

Architectlego created these enchanting scenes from Harry Potter! You can feel the the magic and excitement in the air as Harry starts his Hogwarts journey at Platform 9¾. Each character from Snape to Hagrid is accurately represented, with their trademark expressions being perfectly captured as well! Check out Snape’s perpetual scowl!

Joss Woodyard built this creature MOC called, ‘Dagon, The Great Leviathan’. His aim was to create something “gnarly and fierce”, while also incorporating vibrant colors! And he has managed to do just that.

Steve Guinness created this LEGO typewriter designed to bring back the feels of typewriters from the 50s! In fact, it was inspired by the original typewriter used by the LEGO group founder Ole Kirk Kristiansen. The build doesn’t even feel like LEGO, you could easily take it for a real sturdy typewriter….that’s how lifelike it looks!

Brickwood Creations’ take on LEGO’s Adidas Originals Superstar is nothing but unique! Birds of freedom fly around the sneakers, with shrubs and flowers growing out of the head of the sneaker.

Patrick Bigg captured a beautiful Elk in LEGO! The elk is ‘branching’ with leaves growing out of his majestic antlers, as well as on the ground around his feet. A wonder of nature is perfectly encapsulated in this LEGO build.

Built using 477,303 LEGO bricks, this iconic Toyota GR Supra by LEGO Japan, LEGOLAND Japan, and Toyota Gazoo Racing, weighs more than 4,156 pounds. The lifelike model can even be driven! How cool is that?

@woomy_world created this MOC intended to be a surrealist bird sculpture. The build is not inspired by any particular bird, and was named ‘Avian Blossom.’ He managed to capture an almost gravity-defying effect in this build.

A LEGO creation for the history buffs! Swan Dutchman created the mask of Tutankhamun! The ancient Egyptian Pharoah has always been a source of curiosity, and this mask does him complete justice. Initially, Dutchman built the mask using 16,000 lego pieces and is displayed at the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities, however, he downscaled the number of elements used and created a smaller and more compact version.

inthert_lego built a 12 Grimmauld Place visible to everyone! This one’s bound to be a favorite amongst Harry Potter fans. And the fact, that inthert_lego built this from scratch, and not an actual set is even more applause-worthy!

LEGO Creations by master builders that prove LEGO is not just child’s play!

This artwork is the centerpiece for his exhibition titled Building Black Civilizations and showcases details like nothing you have ever seen before, almost reminiscent of the Game of Thrones title sequence!

The iconic Toyota GR Supra (earlier known as Celica Supra) celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. To celebrate the same, LEGO Japan, LEGOLAND Japan, and Toyota Gazoo Racing have put together a life-size replica of the sports car that’ll make your jaws drop. The LEGO version is slightly wider than the original GR Supra, weighs much more (4,156 pounds) – and is, for the most part, made entirely out of LEGO bricks which is an impressive sight, irrespective of whether you are a LEGO fan.

With a rotating crank-lever on the side (sort of like a jack-in-the-box) the Pac-Man Moving Display is a fun little interactive toy that features the familiar pill-munching spherical character along with 4 ghosts. Rotate the lever on the side and the ghosts bob up and down, while Pac-Man’s mouth moves vertically too, just like in the videogame!

Designed by LEGO fanatic Steve Guinness, the LEGO set is called 21327 Typewriter – styled to bring back the memories of 50s typewriters. It doesn’t surprise that the LEGO typewriter is actually inspired by the original typewriter used by LEGO Group founder Ole Kirk Kristiansen. According to Federico Begher, VP of Global Marketing at LEGO Group, the vintage typewriter has an enchanting appeal and, “Steve’s incredible replica is a thoroughly worthy LEGO Ideas success story.” It’ll be something that mingles the two worlds seamlessly – a thing that LEGO fans will take pride in displaying in their living room. Steve wanted to create something intricate and new for LEGO, so he bought a vintage typewriter. He then set out to figure out how he could arrange the bricks and replicate a typewriter’s complex mechanism to achieve the final design. In the end, he managed to create a LEGO set that doesn’t look like a LEGO creation when viewed from a distance.

This breathtakingly realistic car was created by a team of 15 people who put over 8000 hours of work into recreating the automotive beauty. The car was built meticulously out of LEGO Technic pieces, and barring the wheels and the logo on front, practically the entire vehicle is made solely from LEGO bricks. In fact, even the headlights, taillights, and the light-strips running along the side are LEGO pieces!

TOMOELL’s LEGO Fender Stratocaster is an immaculate beauty, looking very recognizably like the original. It comes with 6 faux strings that connect from the bridge all the way down the fretboard to 6 tuning keys (I’m fairly certain those are representational too) and even sports the knobs, pickups, and the vibrato arm that guitarists love to use! Made from 335 LEGO bricks, the Strat is incomplete without its accessories, a 54-piece guitar-stand, a 287-piece Fender amp, and even a tiny foot-pedal for extra effect!

The upcoming ZX 8000 sneaker collaboration was announced by Adidas Originals as a part of its ongoing A-ZX series. Stepping on LEGO blocks but now they can’t hurt you because you have made allies with the enemy HA! Adidas usually has the classic monochromatic shoes with a few bold limited-edition drops and this sneaker design certainly incorporates elements from both brands in a way that none are overpowered – so you can recognize those Adidas curves but you can also relate to the LEGO colors!

A LEGO creation for the history buffs! Swan Dutchman created the mask of Tutankhamun! The ancient Egyptian Pharoah has always been a source of curiosity, and this mask does him complete justice. Speaking of Game of Thrones-esque magnanimous scenes, Rocco Buttliere, a Chicago-based architect has displayed his detailed skill and love of architecture with this Purple Forbidden City! Borrowing from the historic ages of the Chinese royalty, the design features a Hall of Supreme Harmony. Speaking of building this design, the designer says, “Finally, and probably most instructive to myself and perhaps others during this time of uncertainty, are a particular few words of a famous proverb by Laozi which kept me looking forward during this four-month undertaking: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Fusing the nostalgia of watching ‘80s cult classics like Back to the Future and spending entire afternoons building with LEGO bricks, Brickstuff designed the LEGO version of Doc Brown’s Flux Capacitor as a kit for anyone to construct, all ages welcome. The kit comes complete with a whopping 18 new LEGO bricks, a pre-assembled pliant circuit board, LED lights that actually glow with the help of a battery pack, and three AA batteries. You’ll have to buy the batteries separately, but the kit comes included with illustrated assembly instructions to aid in the building process.

LEGO designs by master builders that showcase why it is more than a kid’s toy

LEGO building is no more child’s play! Today, master builders and artists build impressive and intricate LEGO creations that will leave you stunned. They are no less than works of art, with immense efforts, time, and energy is dedicated to them. I love scrolling through these creations, admiring them, and feeling an intense surge of satisfaction at their perfection. So, here’s a list of some extraordinary builds that I hope will give you that same feeling of satisfaction. Enjoy!

This Illegal LEGO collection may be the piece a master builder needs to unleash their creativity. Each piece is a statement in contradictions, with half a raised side and the other a receiver/negative half, making it almost impossible to join your pieces. Or is it? As far as master builders go, they are always looking for complicated pieces that can help them build the next big impossible structure.

It would be an unfair characterization to call LEGO a child’s toy. Clearly, the product’s an incredibly engaging and interactive DIY system for adults too, and has been used for everything from scale-down models to art projects, to even the rare full-size LEGO supercar… but rarely has LEGO been used as an actual material to build a real, working product.  Burls Art details how LEGO is a pretty great choice to make the guitar in the first place. The interlocking pieces are pretty robust and the fact that you’ve got LEGO bricks in different colors makes it pretty easy to design your own pattern on the guitar. To assemble the piece, Burls plugs the LEGO pieces together in sheets, before layering them one above another and pouring epoxy resin to really seal them in place (the last thing you want is to have a guitar falling apart when you play an exceptionally funky slapping bassline).

This laptop riser/ monitor stand is the perfect addition to your work from home desk! Bored of the usual laptop stands? Build your own using LEGO! The nifty little design even accommodates little storage drawers to keep your pens, pencils, notepads, and other miscellaneous stationery. It even manages to incorporate cable management in its structure.

Designed over a period of 8,660 hours with more than 400,000 bricks, this Lamborghini Sian FKP 37 is the closest thing to the real deal! Earlier last year, Lamborghini and LEGO co-created a 1:8 replica of the Sian car… This year, they pushed the limits to build this incredibly realistic beast that looks stunningly like the original (in both shape and size) and weighs a mind-numbing 2.2 metric tonnes! This breath-takingly realistic car was created by a team of 15 people who put over 8000 hours of work into recreating the automotive beauty. The car was built meticulously out of LEGO Technic pieces, and barring the wheels and the logo on front, practically the entire vehicle is made solely from LEGO bricks. In fact, even the headlights, taillights, and the light-strips running along the side are LEGO pieces!

LEGO just approved of turning the Starry Night into a production-ready set. The idea for the product came from LEGO Ideas, a playground where LEGO enthusiasts upload their creations, and LEGO fans vote on designs that they want to see willed into existence. The Starry Night rendition comes from Truman Cheng, a Master Builder who goes by the username legotruman. Cheng’s rendition of the post-impressionist masterpiece uses a total of 1,552 pieces, and gathered a stunning 10 thousand votes on the LEGO Ideas platform!

Looking every bit like the real deal, the Ship In A Bottle is the latest from the clever master-builders at LEGO Ideas who churn out magical numbers such as the LEGO Typewriter we saw.

Illegal LEGO designs that will simultaneously annoy and inspire all the master builders!

LEGO is on a mission. Collaborating with brands across the world, LEGO is rapidly turning into a leader that is making waves – be it celebrating pride month or launching an Adidas special edition brick sneaker, or bringing your favorite FRIENDS moments to life, there is a LEGO set out there for everyone. That is, until we met the Illegal LEGO collection by Matteo Ercole.

While the bricks look simple on paper, the trouble comes with mass production is with LEGO’s manufacturing process that uses induction moulding. Usually, the bricks begin with tiny plastic grains called granules which come in a bunch of different colors. The plastic granules are fed down using pipes to the molding machines. Inside the molding machines, the granules are superheated to a temperature of about 450 degrees Fahrenheit (230°C). This melted plastic goo is fed into molds, little metal containers shaped like hollow LEGO bricks, and are cooled and ejected, which only takes about 10 seconds. The process is fast, a need of mass manufacturing. But to create a brick as we described, it would require us to 3D print these bricks individually, which may not suit or give the exact precision injection moulding delivers.

While it may take some time before LEGO actually manufactures such bricks, I know the true enthusiasts will go to every means necessary, including 3D printing the design to bring their next design to life. Do you think LEGO should make these bricks?

Designer: Matteo Ercole

LEGO goes nostalgic with this functional vintage Typewriter and is actually available for sale!

If a vintage typewriter is gold, then a LEGO vintage typewriter has to be an even better proposition. The icing on the cake is when your LEGO typewriter actually types, it’s just like the real thing. Another successfully backed LEGO Ideas project, this idea instantly evokes a sense of nostalgia and urges to own one.

The typewriter is so well designed and engineered, it could very well function as a typewriter for your nostalgic adventures. Now, if only the small LEGO pieces are swapped with ink!

This LEGO set is made up of 2,079 pieces in a cool mint green color and mirrors the tactility of a classic typewriter since it has a center typebar that rises when a letter is pressed. This is linked to a carriage moving across as you type – pretty much like the actual typewriter. The paper can be fed into the platen roller, and each set will come with a letter signed by the LEGO Group chairman. LEGO Typewriter will be available via LEGO VIP early access for pristine members from June 16th, while others can get their hands on this thing come July 1st for a price tag of $199.99.

Do you ever wonder why Marie Kondo and all the organization tips we keep clicking on (thanks Buzzfeed!) are such endlessly clickable content for us? I believe, deep down, it’s from the sense of satisfaction we get at seeing something so immaculately fall into place – a place for everything and everything in its place. It’s the same sense of satisfaction I get from the beautifully arranged LEGO creations built by these master builders. It is a kind of puzzle making at play here, but puzzle makers have the final picture to compare to whereas these LEGO pieces are playing only in the canvas on the artist’s mind. Scroll through our selection and be prepared to be amazed at the intricate models built by artists using the humble LEGO brick.

While the guitar attained legendary status nearly half a century ago, LEGO aficionado TOMOELL is finally giving it its rightful place in LEGO’s brick-laden universe. TOMOELL’s LEGO Fender Stratocaster is an immaculate beauty, looking very recognizably like the original. It comes with 6 faux-strings that connect from the bridge all the way down the fretboard to 6 tuning keys (I’m fairly certain those are representational too), and even sports the knobs, pickups, and the vibrato arm that guitarists love to use! Milan Sekiz combines his love for Iron Man, wearable designs, and all things LEGO with this Iron Man suit! The main challenge for Milan to build this Iron Man-inspired MOC was to find a way to improve his mobility while wearing it and of course make it visually appealing at the same time.

Built from more than a million Lego pieces, the Bugatti Chiron replica isn’t just a standing model, it actually drives too! Weighing over 3,000 pounds, the car can accelerate to slightly over 12 mph… which sounds even more impressive when you realize that the car’s engine is entirely made from Lego too! Two batteries in the car serve as its overall power source… and although there isn’t a gas or acceleration pedal (as the car is driven by voltage level), there is a working pedal for the brake.

Bring your favorite tunes to life with Hsinwei Chi’s Jazz Quartet. While LEGO is well established as a building base for landscapes, having those simple bricks bring to life the dynamic energy of a musician’s band is a sight worth marveling over! Each of these jazz players captures the stance of his tune perfectly, making us feel like we are almost there, watching those melodies being belted out by this quartet!

The ZX 8000 sneaker collaboration was announced by Adidas Originals as a part of its ongoing A-ZX series. Stepping on LEGO blocks but now they can’t hurt you because you have made allies with the enemy HA! Adidas usually has the classic monochromatic shoes with a few bold limited-edition drop and this sneaker design certainly incorporates elements from both brands in a way that none are overpowered – so you can recognize those Adidas curves but you can also relate to the LEGO colors! Digital sneaker god, Sean Wotherspoon, received a pair ahead of the official release and shared images that unveiled more details like LEGO’s iconic logo on the tongue tag and a miniature LEGO man modeled after him!

LEGO creations by master builders that showcase why LEGO is not just a children’s toy: Part 4

Have you ever found your thoughts too muddled to think straight? In moments like these, I find LEGO bricks, the act of building together with small structures to create a design very calming, provoking an ASMR reaction in me, just the way painting mandalas or watching soap cutting videos does for some people. Watching the master LEGO builders and their craft, it makes me wonder at the enormity of their vision and the sense of satisfaction they must be feeling! Starting from their humble beginnings with making wooden toys, LEGO has evolved to become a literal building block – like paint or a pencil, LEGO is a tool and there is no limitation to your imagination. Watch these elaborate constructions by master builders to inspire yourself and take the world by storm!

Oh, and if anyone wants a challenge, I truly believe it would be awesome to have a LEGO title sequence for Game of Thrones!

Wheels are so passe! At least that’s the thought Steam Pirate’s (Nick) interpretation of the classic Volkswagen Van brings to his mind as well as ours. Decked out in the traditional white and red, the van features long, sturdy legs that would surely be a help in traffic-filled situations!

Digital sneaker god, Sean Wotherspoon, received a pair ahead of the official release and shared images that unveiled more details like LEGO’s iconic logo on the tongue tag and a miniature LEGO man modeled after him! The detailing on the shoes with grooves and ridges brings in the element of the connecting blocks and the shape of the shoe itself has a very 90’s Adidas aesthetic. It is refreshing to see a bright red sole on a shoe other than Louboutins. One of the most thoughtful details is the green LEGO block that seems to hold the laces in places and I am assuming this shoe will come with versatile lace options as well.

The best part about LEGO is using them to bring to life the best of our childhood memories because now LEGO shows you ‘How to get to Sesame Street’! Meet the miniature versions of Big Bird, Bert, Earnie, and even the adorable Cookie Monster. Me want cookie now.

Who needs a boring laptop table when you have a cool LEGO structure to keep your working-from-home and ready! Using the modularity of LEGO to meet your personal needs, the laptop stand includes 2 drawers, a niche to hold your phone, and even a circular opening on the surface to let your cables flow freely. 2020 feels sorted now!

Our favorite Master Builder Ekow Nimako comes back with this design titled Flower Girl. A 4 feet tall sculpture, the simple block-like designs have come together to create this stunning sculpture with her flowing locks and is made up of over 25,000 Black LEGO pieces. Such is the beauty of this design, it remains in exhibition across UK.

So IKEA and LEGO teamed up to make storage bins, called BYGGLEK, that makes tidying up another fun game. The white boxes come in four sizes and can store hundreds of bricks and you can easily stack them up because they are made like giant LEGO blocks. “The box itself can be a house, a swimming pool, a sports arena – there is no right or wrong!” said Rasmus Buch Løgstrup, the LEGO designer who led this project. The BYGGLEK range consists of one set of three small boxes, and two sets of bigger boxes, and one set of LEGO bricks for the complete experience right from the moment you get your package.
