Thor’s Stormbreaker Gets Real

In Avengers: Infinity War, Thor had the world’s littlest giant forge him a one of a kind Thanos-killing weapon named Stormbreaker. Now humans have gone and built one in real life. Man At Arms: Reforged has brought the weapon to life, and it looks pretty impressive.

Instead of just casting the replica, they decided to forge it. First, they laid the foundation by hammering out the shape of the axe portion and leaving the other side rounded. Next, they added some stylish overlays to make it look like it does in the film. It doesn’t take long (for us thanks to the magic of video) for Thor’s new weapon to take shape, complete with a handle made by none other than Groot.

The surrounding parts of the hammer were made out of 316 steel because otherwise, it would weigh around 400 lbs. The end result is a weapon worthy of Thor himself. Naturally, they tested out the weapon after it was completed, so we get to see stuff like watermelons get destroyed. It’s awesome.

Man at Arms: Reforged Creates Wonder Woman’s Sword

Wonder Woman hits theaters this week, and I know I can’t wait to see it. To celebrate, Man at Arms: Reforged created a real-life version of Wonder Woman’s indestructible God Killer sword from the movies.

They always do an amazing job and this sword is certainly a real beauty. It is a well designed sword to begin with. Naturally they tested it out along with the shield they recently made.

And since they didn’t have any DC bad guys attacking them, they had to use pineapples, soda bottles, gallons of water, and a piñata as their victims. It does some nice damage to all of the above.

Man at Arms: Reforged Builds Fallout 4 Weapons

On a recent episode of Man at Arms: Reforged, the team at Baltimore Knife and Sword took on another video game-themed challenge: building real-life versions of the improvised weapons from Fallout 4.

As usual, the team did an excellent job. They tried their hand at making the Kremvh’s Tooth machete, a revolutionary sword, a bladed aluminum baseball bat, and an oak bat with nails sticking out of it.

Naturally, they tested them all out after they were made, putting them through tests like slicing through a zombie head, smashing watermelons, and more. Video game weapons are way too much fun. Dangerous as hell too, so be careful if you try this at home, kids. In fact, don’t!

Voltron’s Flaming Sword Forged in Real Life

The blacksmiths of Baltimore Knife & Sword always do an amazing job forging fantasy weapons for Man at Arms Reforged, but they have really outdone themselves this time. This latest sword is just perfection. The team created a recreation of Voltron’s blazing sword, and it really ignites! Hank Hill would be proud, because it has a continuous propane-fueled flame. “Nothing burns like propane, I’ll tell you what!”

This was a challenging build since it was never a real sword to begin with. It’s from an ’80s cartoon, so they couldn’t get any high-res shots of the weapon. So they ended up using a small toy version to design a 3D model from, and built it from there.

The finished sword is a blazing and badass blade that I wouldn’t want to be on the wrong end of.

Predator’s Wrist Blades Forged in Real Life

It’s always awesome to watch the guys from Man at Arms:Reforged do their work. This time around they are recreating the Predator’s deadly gauntlet blades from Alien vs. Predator.

These guys are master weapon forgers, and they don’t disappoint here. They better not, because when you’re working for a Predator, you don’t live long if you disappoint. The team does a great job recreating the weapon, and the finished product looks pretty awesome and deadly.

You can see them test it out at the end of the video on watermelons and soda bottles and stuff. Pretty badass.

Man At Arms Reforges Sauron’s Mace

If you’re not already following Man at Arms: Reforged, you should be. The show features a talented team of metal workers from Baltimore Knife & Sword, one of the finest swordmakers for stage combat and sparring in the world, and they create cool weapons based on sci-fi and fantasy. They’ve already given Batman Wolverine’s claws, bestowed Iron Man with a sword, and built a lightsaber Katana for Yoda, but now they’ve created a weapon of horrifying magnitude: Sauron’s mace.

Yeah, I’d wager they’d be a bit better at wielding it if they were nine-feet-tall, supernatural death machines, but if I ran into a totally normal human holding this thing in a dark alley, I’d hand over my wallet. That thing looks like it would hurt.

Check out what they and their predecessor Tony Swatton have done so far here, and then overload them with your own great ideas, thus prompting an epic build like this one.

Watch a Skyrim Dragonborn Helmet Being Forged

Man at Arms: Reforged has journeyed into the fantasy world of Skyrim to forge a real world Dragonborn helmet. Even though they mostly forge weapons, a true smith does armor as well – and Baltimore Knife and Sword does just that. It’s not all about attacking after all. You have to protect your body parts too.

To demonstrate its effectiveness in combat they sliced a watermelon with a sword, and then tried to slice the helmet to show that it is a functional piece of armor. All it did was wreck the sword. Really wreck the sword.

The guy wearing it would live, although he would have a hell of a headache. Better then having your head slashed for sure. I would go into combat with this helmet myself, but I took an arrow to the knee.

Man at Arms: Reforged Brings Final Fantasy VII Gunblade to Life

If you have played Final Fantasy VII, you might recall the iconic weapon that Squall uses called the Gunblade. The weapon is exactly what it sounds like, a pistol with a big sword attached. The Man at Arms: Reforged team has a penchant for making these virtual weapons real.

Check out the real Gunblade, it has a pistol hilt with a revolver cylinder, trigger, and hammer. The sword blade attached is long and engraved with a griffin or some mythical creature of the like.

The video above walks through the entire build process from design and virtual creation to the finished sword. The finished product is one of the coolest weapons I have seen. Too bad the gun can’t fire, that would be really awesome. Impractical, but awesome.

Jon Snow’s Longclaw Sword Gets Forged for Real

Man at Arms’ Tony Swatton has forged many great fantasy weapons, bringing them into our world and making them real. This time around, thanks to many requests, he has made Jon Snow’s Longclaw sword from Game of Thrones. You know nothing, Jon Snow, but you do have a kick-ass sword.

I don’t know how many swords Tony has made by this point (no pun intended), but by now he could probably make himself an actual Iron Throne with all of them.

As usual, the finished sword looks pretty amazing, and even has the same intricate direwolf head pommel at the end of its hilt. You can see it in action at the end of the video.

Jon Snow would be so proud. Now I wonder if Tony Swatton has ever worked in Valerian steel…

Man at Arms Makes Jake’s Sword from Adventure Time

I’m not sure why a shape-shifting dog even needs a sword, but that’s Adventure Time for you. It doesn’t have to make sense to be an amazing cartoon. As you might expect, this sword is totally mathematical! It was made by none other than our favorite blacksmith, Tony “Man at Arms” Swatton.

The swords in Adventure Time all have their quirks. Jake’s weapon is no exception. Look how long that hilt is. You could never use this sword in real life. That didn’t stop master swordsmith Tony Swatton from making it real. Watch as he first makes Jake’s sword, then uses it to destroy stuff.

It really is beautiful and it looks like it came right out of the cartoon. As usual, Great work, Tony!
