Mario Kart 8 Inkling Girl’s “Up Yours” Gesture Removed

When my mom couldn’t see me when I was a kid, you better believe that I gave my brother the finger a lot. I would use the “feather” gesture when she was watching. When mom was nearby but the feather didn’t accurately portray how much I wanted to pummel him at the time. I also gave him the old “up yours” gesture on occasion.

In Mario Kart 8, Inkling Girl gave players that “up yours” gesture when she won a race. Somehow Nintendo didn’t know that was a gesture that didn’t mean nice things.

A new patch is out for the game and that gesture is removed in it. Rather than putting the hand on the opposite bicep, Inkling girl now just throws up a clenched fist.

Somebody need to write a patch that puts the gesture back in the game – and lets Mario flip the bird.

Target Celebrates Mario Kart 8 with Mario Shopping Karts

Target is going crazy for Nintendo. The company has started giving more than 650 stores across the country a Mario Kart-themed makeover. This is all to promote the launch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch on April 28th.

This theme will include things like Mario-themed bollards outside the store, a countdown timer sound when you cross the start line at the entrance, and shopping carts decorated to look like karts.

Better stock upon shells and banana peels so you can climb in that cart and wage war inside of a Target near you. Not sure they would appreciate that, but give me a Mario Kart themed cart and that’s what’s gonna happen.

Mario Kart 8 to Get an Excitebike Track

You know I haven’t played a Nintendo game since the original Wii was around. I just found the games to be lacking. However, this news has me actually considering buying a Wii U. Basically Nintendo has an Excitebike track in an upcoming Mario Kart 8 DLC pack.

Combine two classic Nintendo games like Excitebike and Mario Kart and you get my attention. It looks all kinds of crazy. You can check out a preview trailer right here.

This DLC pack is coming in November. It also has a new version of the classic Yoshi Circuit.

Nintendo characters doing crazy stunts on bikes while trying to kill each other? I may just order a Wii U after I finish writing this.

Mario Kart 8 Footage May Make You a Nintendo Fan Again

I have to be honest. I haven’t been a Nintendo fan for ages. These consoles that once had great games just haven’t had anything worth playing for ages. That’s just my opinion. However, this footage from Mario Kart 8 has me actually excited for a Nintendo game.

Of course. We all love Mario Kart. Every version has been a blast. And on May 30th its latest sequel will launch on Wii U. Nintendo even let a select few people try the game out at Best Buy locations during E3 last year. That seems like a lifetime ago.

And now Nintendo is reminding us all why we love this game and making us want to play it right now…

You can expect new characters, new Kart modes, and an awesome all new Rainbow Road. New Rainbow Road people! It is still almost two full months away. Damn you Nintendo!
