DJI Mavic Pro is a Powerful and Compact Folding Drone

It’s hard to imagine that there was a time when drones took shaky videos. The good ones are so stable now. The biggest problem right now is the size, but that is getting better too. DJI’s Mavic Pro is a good example.

This foldable drone collapses into a package only slightly bigger than those water bottles people like to carry. That’s pretty impressive. But it also offers excellent flight and video capabilities. Features include an integrated 12 megapixel camera and a three-axis gimbal, so it can shoot stable 4K videos at 30 fps. It has four vision cameras, GPS/GLONASS, two ultrasonic range finders, and redundant sensors.

It can navigate flight paths and avoid obstacles all by itself, and flies at top speeds of up to 22 mph (40 mph in Sport Mode). It can also follow subjects you target, in a variety of cinematic looks, and can find its way back home to you and safely land itself.

There’s a lot to like here. The 2.4GHz controller has an integrated 1080p touchscreen display. Range is 4.3-miles The battery delivers 27 minutes of flight. Technological advancements like this will make you want to get in on the drone photography craze.
