Slave Leia Slays Jabba in This Epic LEGO Sculpture

The original Star Wars trilogy is packed with memorable moments. Among them was the scene in Return of the Jedi where Princess Leia, wearing not much more than a metal bikini, uses the very chains that bind her to strangle her captor, Jabba the Hutt. This scene has been immortalized in LEGO form, and would make an amazing centerpiece for any Star Wars fan’s collection.

LEGO artist Iain Heath aka Ochre Jelly created this incredible one-of-a-kind sculpture that brilliantly captures that classic scene. I love how he managed to create the curves of Jabba’s blubbery body by stacking bricks, and how he captured the expression on Jabba’s face as he sticks his tongue out for one last gasp of air.

The sculpture is made entirely from LEGO bricks, and held together entirely with regular LEGO connection points, though Iain says he’ll hit it with some glue at critical points to make sure that it stays together forever. If you want this LEGO Star Wars masterpiece, it’s available from the Bricks of Character Etsy shop for $299.99. Also, bonus points for Leia’s croissant bikini.

Disney+ gets every ‘Star Wars’ movie in 4K, Dolby Vision and Atmos

We knew Disney+ would be the new home of Star Wars ever since the service was announced, but Disney kept an interesting nugget secret until now. The entire Star Wars series, including the original trilogy and much-maligned prequels, has also been rem...

Star Wars Sarlacc Pit Toddler Pillow: Fett-er Your Baby’s Nest

When you have a newborn, it’s all about safety. You have to go over the house with a fine-tooth comb and make sure that all of the dangers are gone. That means stuff like covering electrical sockets, padding sharp table corners or getting rid of them, removing small choking hazards from their reach and of course, for the love of God people, covering up any Sarlacc pits. Did you know that Sarlacc pits account for numerous infant injuries every year? The only reason we end up saving these kids at all is because it takes a thousand years for the creature that dwells within to digest those rugrats.

Anyway, here’s a safe alternative – a Sarlacc pit pillow and lounger for your newborns and toddlers.

We’ve been assured it’s totally safe, and stuffed with polyester instead of actual monsters, but you can’t help but fear for your kid when you see them sleeping among those teeth. The center ring measures about 13″ in diameter and the whole thing has a 36″ circumference. It sits 6-8″ high, and has carrying handles for easy transport and storage.

Sarlacc pits just got so much more cozy, soft and cuddly. Did you ever think that your child would be laying in one and not screaming? Grab one from Bed Hog Shop over on Etsy for $138.

Jabba the Hutt Soap Doesn’t Smell as Gross as It Looks

There are few more rank, nasty, and vile characters in the history of film than Jabba the Hutt. This disgusting fat worm of a creature took our princess hostage and subjected her to horrible humiliation, and kept a frozen Han Solo in his collection. While Return of the Jedi wasn’t available in Smell-o-vision, I can only imagine he smelled terrible. Subsisting on a diet of toads does that to a guy.

Fortunately, this Jabba the Hutt soap won’t make you smell like partially digested Klatooine paddy frogs. In fact, it’s available in all kinds of delightful fragrances, including lemon, peach, cinnamon, jasmine, english rose, and even frankincense and myrrh. I have no idea what the latter smell like, but I just liked saying them. You can also choose from a variety of colors, but I think green or brown are the only appropriate ones here.

You can pick up a Jabba the Hutt soap from Etsy seller NerdySoap for about $5(USD). They also make a larger version for about $17 that comes with a fully unfurled tail.

While you’re at it, you might want to grab a Han Solo in carbonite soap to add to your trophy room.

Leia vs. Jabba in LEGO, Whoa.

One of the most iconic scenes in the entire Star Wars saga has to be the moment in Return of the Jedi where Princess Leia chokes the life out of Jabba the Hutt. After turning her into his personal slave, dressing her in an uncomfortable metal bikini, and shackling her in chains, Leia had quite enough. Now, this classic moment has been memorialized in LEGO, courtesy of artist Iain “Ochre Jelly” Heath.

This amazing build perfectly captures the moment, from the chains around Jabba’s neck, to the giant tongue sticking out of his mouth as he gasps for his last breath of air. It’s an amazing build, and I wish LEGO would turn this into an official kit, even though I know it’s something they’d never do.

Boba Fett Ballistic Armor: Mandalorian Protection

Boba Fett is real and has arrived in our galaxy. This image is proof. Actually, this Boba Fett mandalorian ballistic srmor was created by the folks at AR500 Armor. It not only looks cool, but it is also functional.

This armor is actually capable of stopping a bullet, but we don’t know about lightsabers. It’s perfect for human bounty hunters. Now you can catch bail jumpers and debt skippers in style, inspiring fear in them while you remain perfectly safe. You can even bring them back to your local crimelord as a popsicle if you want, then stick around for the party after and watch those Twi’lek dancers do their thing. You might even see a cool rescue and fall in a pit.

Wear this, because you are no good to you dead.

This Return of the Jedi Speeder Bike Started out as a Segway

If you aren’t afraid of Ewoks trying to trip you up, you too can wear your Scout Trooper armor and ride on this cool real world speeder bike.

This mod was added to a Segway personal mobility device by Youtuber Rodger Cleye. I bet he was excited about it. It was probably more than he could Endor. Get it? Really, it actually looks pretty awesome.

Can you imagine the speeder bike chase scenes you could film with these things? Me either. I don’t have all day to watch a bunch of Segway Speeder Bikes chase each other at 5 mph. I’d rather just see some Ewoks attack them and tear stuff apart with their furry little hands.

It’s a pretty fun mod though. I’m just not sure you can still call it a speeder bike.

Return of the Jedi Sarlacc Cupcakes: Tasty Tentacles

There are lots of fan theories on how Boba Fett escaped the Sarlacc pit after his apparent demise in Return of the Jedi. One theory not often explored is that he actually ate his way out. After seeing these Sarlacc cupcakes, that’s what I’m going with.

Kathleen Siegle of Yummy Crumble created these treats that make the nasty tentacled beast of Tatooine look like a delicious dessert. They’re made from vanilla cake with graham crackers for the sand on top, milk chocolate tentacles, and almond slivers for the pointy teeth.

Star Wars Rancor Shows up at Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con was the place to be this year as it is every year. But this time, there was a little something extra for fans of giant monsters. Tested enlisted the help of movie effects artist Frank Ippolito to create a scary real-life version of the Rancor beast from Return of the Jedi.

In the video clip below, Tested editor Norman Chan goes over the impressive 3-1/2 week build process that Ippolito and his team went through to make the Rancor a reality.

Frank has also created realistic costumes portraying Admiral Ackbar, Zoidberg, and Professor Farnsworth. This one is far more menacing as he gets into the Rancor costume and makes his way through San Diego. I know I wouldn’t want to meet this guy in a dark pit.

The detail on this costume is just amazing.
