RoboCop is coming to ‘Mortal Kombat 11’ on May 26th

NetherRealm still isn’t done bringing pop culture icons to Mortal Kombat 11. Its Aftermath DLC arrives on May 26th with not only a new story (more on that in a moment) and greater roles for fighters like Fujin, Nightwolf, Shang Tsung and Sheeva, but...

Robocop ReAction Figures: I’d Buy These for a Dollar!

Toymaker Super7’s ReAction line of action figures is designed to capture the feel and style of 1970s and 1980s action figures from brands like Kenner and Mego. So in other words, don’t expect them to be screen-accurate or well-articulated. That’s the charm. If you dig those kind of retro figures, and loved the original RoboCop, then you’ll want to check out these ReAction figs.

First up, there’s RoboCop himself. The 3.75″ tall figure is done up in a shiny silver paint, with five points of articulation and an oversized pistol that most certainly won’t store inside of his leg. You can also get battle-damaged and glow-in-the-dark versions of RoboCop if that’s what you’re into.

Next, we’ve got a figure of OCP’s famed ED-209 police robot, as he gives Mr. Kinney five seconds to comply. The 6″ tall bipedal robot has four, count-em, four points of articulation, and is guaranteed to fall down stairs. Kinney figure naturally has a bloody hole blown in his chest, arm, and leg.

Last, but certainly not least is the figure of Emil Antonowsky, the bad guy henchman who managed to get himself dipped into a vat of toxic waste. Naturally, this is what he looks like before he got splattered all over the windshield by his buddies. Fun fact: Did you know that Antonowsky was played by Paul McCrane, the same guy who played Dr. Romano on ER? You know, the guy who gets his arm chopped off by a helicopter? It must be in his contract that he gets mutilated in every role.

They also make a special glow-in-the dark edition of the so -called “Toxic Waste Thug.” All six RoboCop ReAction figures are available from Big Bad Toy Store, with prices ranging from $14.99 to $34.99.

Ultimate Future RoboCop Is Loaded with Weapons, Packed up and Ready to Go

I remember seeing the original RoboCop back when it came out in 1987, and it was awesome in all the right ways. Violence, action, cheesy dialogue, paper-thin bad guys getting splattered on windshields, and a thinly-veiled political commentary all wrapped up in one. In that film, the robotic version of Alex Murphy’s main weapon was a gun that holstered in his thigh.

I watched RoboCop 2 and then pretty much gave up on the franchise after that, but apparently he appeared in an awesome “Ultimate” version back in 1992 in RoboCop vs. The Terminator, a comic mini-series written by none other than Frank Miller, and illustrated by the great Walt Simonson. And damn, was this Robocop awesome. Now, you too can enjoy Ultimate Future RoboCop in your toy collection, thanks to the guys at NECA.

This 7″ action figure truly is the ultimate RoboCop, as he dons a backpack loaded up with missiles and rockets, a shoulder cannon machine gun, and a rocket-launching left arm. So yeah, he’s ready to take on The Terminator and show him what he’s got big time.

The figure has 25 points of articulation, and looks ridiculously awesome. This guy needs to be in every RoboCop fan’s toy collection. It’s available for pre-order now from Entertainment Earth for $24.99(USD), and should ship this by January 2018.

ThreeZero RoboCop 1.0 Action Figure: I’d Buy That for $230

If you ask me, all movies were better in the ’80s, especially the action flicks. There were original ideas during that era and all we seem to get today is remakes and sequels with few exceptions. One of the coolest of those movies from back in the day was Robocop. The remake had nothing on that original film, but the new Robo himself was pretty cool. If you prefer ’80s Robocop, this isn’t the action figure for you.

ThreeZero’s figure based on the Robocop from the 2014 remake and it’s very cool. The action figure has full articulation, stands 12.5″ tall and is 1/6 scale. Its helmet has light up LEDs and the thighs even have integrated storage areas for tiny guns.

You get three interchangeable hands and both guns can be manually extended. This impressive action figure will set you back $229.99(USD) at ThinkGeek.

GTA IV RoboCop ED-209 Mod: You Have 20 Seconds to Install…

When I was growing up, my parents let me watch pretty much any movie I wanted when it came out on VHS. One of my favorites was RoboCop. Something about a cyborg robot with a gun that came out of his thigh was very appealing to my younger self. I’ve tried to watch the original films now that I am an adult, and they are so cheesy it hurts.

If you are a fan of GTA IV and RoboCop of the ’80s, JulioNIB has made a mod that you will want to check out. The mod brings ED-209 from the first RoboCop film to the virtual streets of GTA IV. ED-209 isn’t there to stop you from rampaging in the game. In fact, you can use the robot as a bodyguard.

Better yet, you can take direct control of the robot and use it to spray hot metal death at the citizens of New Detroit Liberty City. I always though ED-209 looked like a walking microphone, and the virtual creation looks just like the one from the film.

Check out the videos to see the mod in action.
