‘Beam Me Up, Santa’ Ugly Star Trek Christmas Sweater: Live Long and Presents

Just when you thought the perfect Star Trek ugly Christmas sweater already existed (see: this ‘Trek The Halls’ ugly Christmas sweater), Numskull Designs returns with an even gaudier one in the form of this ‘Beam Me Up, Santa’ sweater. I think we can all agree that pun is a stretch, even for a tacky ugly Christmas sweater. The title of this article too.

The officially licensed Star Trek sweater is 100% knitted and available from Just Geek for $36 in sizes 3XS to 4XL. It was inspired by Star Trek: The Original Series, featuring the likenesses of Captain Kirk and Spock on the front, as well as the Enterprise, Santa and his reindeer, as well as some snowflakes, planets, and meteors. I… don’t remember watching that particular episode.

Sure, the sweater doesn’t make a lot of sense and is basically a garish mashup of Star Trek and Christmas themes, but I already ordered four with rush shipping, hoping they get here in time for my family to wear for our annual Christmas card photo.

These Star Trek Spock Socks Have Vulcan Ears

These Star Trek Spock Socks are completely logical. Allow me to channel my inner Dr. Seuss. Spock socks shock. They also rock. Whether on the outer rim or in dry dock. Be one of the flock and dress in Spock. It’s the fashion around the clock. Do you grok?

Okay, I make a terrible Dr. Seuss. Because I ran out of juice. My rhymes like a noose. Anyway, enough of that nonsense. I see you raising a Vulcan eyebrow.

So these Spock Socks have ears sticking out of their sides, which may not be very practical if you wear pants or boots since they’ll get in the way, but if you wear these with some Starfleet shorts and a uniform top you’ll be alright. I’m sure you won’t get any weird looks at all.

These bad boys are the logical way to keep your feet warm. They’re made of 80% Acrylic/17% Nylon/3% Spandex and 100% awesome. I feel like they are bound to follow this up with Romulan and a Ferengi versions. I can’t wait to wear Quark on my feet with his big Dumbo ears. I’d pay good Latinum for that.

This Star Trek Outlet Sticker Will Give You an Electric Spock

I like to think by the time we make it to the 23rd century, we won’t be using wall plugs, and all power will be completely wireless. But Trekkies living in today’s world must suffer through the act of connecting their electrical devices to a wall outlet. I suppose if you have to do it, let it be using this Spock outlet.

Star Trek Online’s Memorial For Leonard Nimoy Is Finished

As you likely know by now, Leonard Nimoy passed away last week. And so the internet was full of tributes for the actor. This is one of the best. Now Nimoy has been immortalized in the massively mulitiplayer role-playing game Star Trek Online.

ARC Games added two statues to the MMO to commemorate the actor. This is fitting not only because this is a Star Trek MMO, but because Nimoy also provided some voice work for the game as Spock and as a narrator.

The statues appeared in the game for the first time yesterday and they are placed on Vulcan and New Romulus. Be sure to click on the images above to see them in detail. In addition to the statues, both locations feature a plaque which pays tribute to several prominent Star Trek contributors who have passed on.

Many players made the pilgrimage to Vulcan in the game after Nimoy’s death. Leonard will be sorely missed. He was a great actor and by all accounts a great human being too.
