An AI Designed These Sapphire and Gold Thrones and They Look Fit For A Disney Live-Action Movie

No, this isn’t a still from an upcoming Disney movie or Narnia remake – these thrones were designed by a French digital creator by the name of Ambre, using a combination of Midjourney and Photoshop. The thrones look incredibly real, and have absolutely stunning, intricate details, using a combination of gold, sapphire, and ceramics to create a seat that’s out of this world.

Designer: Ambre (via Midjourney)

Ambre took inspiration from butterflies (the Monarch butterfly in particular) to visualize these gorgeous thrones. Each throne embraces a visually maximalist Art Noveau style, with a touch of Voronoi-inspired patterns around the butterfly’s wings. Each cell in the wing is fitted with a sapphire crystal, while the seat itself is made from gold.

It’s interesting to see how the AI works with concepts like stability, comfort, proportions, and material use. To be brutally honest, not all of those chairs look even remotely comfortable – but then, neither did the Iron Throne from GoT, considering it was forged from literal swords. With the Sapphire Butterfly Thrones, Ambre decided to explore some unique styles, like including a cushioned backrest in some, and keeping a golden butterfly body in others. Some chairs have armrests, while others don’t, and some have legs, while others have large beanbag-ish volumes resting against the floor. All the chairs embrace the idea of being stunningly royal and precious to the sight. The sapphire panels are either crystal-cut, or have cloudy details in them, looking like nebulas and galaxies in the sky. Now which king or queen doesn’t want that?!

The Sapphire Butterfly Thrones series is but one of many design series on Ambre’s Instagram. The artist experiments with unique, whimsical styles that make use of materials like gemstones, precious metals, and porcelain, creating objects that instantly transcend into the realm of haute art. This minimalist egg holder feels like IKEA furniture for your poultry

If an egg is the most minimalist form of a living organism, the THRONE is its minimalist seating device. Made from stainless steel, with a PVD coating to give it a nice pop of color, the THRONE is a beautifully simplistic tripod that holds your soft-boiled egg in place as you dig into it.

The THRONE celebrates the egg’s goodness by allowing you to admire it as you eat it. Its minimalist design does a mighty good job of holding the egg in place while also showing it off… hence the name. The simple form factor, apart from being unusual to look at, is also stackable, non-breakable, and works equally well with lemons, mandarins, strawberries, and perhaps a medium-sized avocado too.

Designed in Denmark (that’s where the sense of minimalism and slight tongue-in-cheek humor comes from), the THRONE comes in a set of 4, available in red or black, and highly recommended by chefs around the world like Wolfgang Cluck and Henston Blumhenthal!

A THRONE For The World’s Oldest Superfood

Is there a better centerpiece to breakfast than the egg? You’d be cracked just to serve it on a plate. No, that’s a fowl idea. A good egg deserves to be served alone.

Enjoying a freshly boiled egg in an egg cup used to be a classic way to enjoy one the world’s oldest and tastiest superfoods.

Now you can elevate your breakfast to an entirely new level with this fixture of the highest class breakfasts with a sleek, minimalist design.

Packed with protein and powerful nutrients, it’s time to enjoy an egg in its proper dish. Every purchase comes with Chef Wolfgang Cluck’s signature boiled egg recipe, printed on feather-free paper. Absolutely free!

Overly Eggineered

THRONE is the finest an egg server can be, it’s made of high grade stainless steel that is PVD coated like a high end watch. This gives it an excellent finish that that will last you forever.

Eggstravagant Storage

The second best feature of THRONE is that it’s completely stackable. Once you’ve wrapped up breakfast, THRONE won’t take up much space. You could even say that won’t ruffle any feathers when it comes to storage.

Give in to The Dark Side with The Emperor’s Throne Armchair

If you are more aligned with the Dark Side than the Light Side of the force, I just found your new office chair. Just sit your butt on the Emperor’s Throne Armchair and you can watch space battle from your throne room, with your withered face and evil smile.

This is a great replica of the Emperor’s throne from Return of the Jedi. Be comfortable as you watch father and son fight with lightsabers as you egg them on and laugh. You can live out all of your Dark Side fantasies. Hopefully, it won’t all end with you being thrown down an endless shaft, which is actually a very bad design flaw for a throne room. What’s up with Imperial engineering always leaving fatal flaws in their stuff? I guess they have more than one saboteur among their ranks.

If you are any kind of evil at all, this is the chair for you. It’s available now from Regal Robot’s Custom Studio. It swivels, has a polished chrome base and two-tone faux leather in black and purple. It will cost you $1,499, a mere pittance for an evil Emperor such as yourself, right?

Sit back in this chair and rule the galaxy in comfort and style. Do you feel a disturbance in the force? That’s just your wallet crying out in agony.

The Golf Iron Throne

While swords are the weapon of choice on Game of Thrones, there’s another item that could be just as deadly – and more fun on the weekends – the good old golf club. With this in mind, the guys over at Direct Golf put together this awesome take on the Iron Throne, made from golf irons and a few drivers.

They worked with the builders at Dead Beats Create to assemble 300 spare clubs onto a wood and metal structure to make the throne, which measures about 6 feet tall at its highest point. Be sure to head on over to the Direct Golf website to read about how they built the Golf Iron Throne.

Game of Phones: An Iron Throne for Your Phone

Game of Thrones Phone Stand

Who knew you could make something this awesome from styrofoam, cocktail swords, foam tape, and lots of hot glue? A dude who goes by the username of tumb1r was bored one day, so we he went and made a miniature iron throne for his phone using the stuff we mentioned earlier. Okay, so he wasn’t actually bored, because he set out to make one from the get-go, but what he did here is nothing short of impressive.

Hit the break for pictures of the mobile iron throne while it was in the making.

Just imagine how much more awesome the iron throne stand would be if it has a built-in charger. A GOT-inspired dock for my phone? Yeah, I’d definitely want one.

Game of Thrones 14″ Iron Throne Miniature Replica Doesn’t Have a Miniature Price

The third season of HBO’s Game of Thrones is still more than a month away. Meanwhile you can pass the time by playing with this 1:6 scale replica of the infamous Iron Throne. Put your cat on it, build a LEGO Red Keep around it or imagine impaling Joffrey Baratheon on its bladed backrest.

The throne is an officially licensed collectible and as you can see is very detailed. But that’s as far as its authenticity goes. Aside from being six times smaller than the fictional throne, it’s also not made of swords or even metal. Rather, it’s made of resin that’s been hand-painted and finished. To be fair, it does look like it’s actually made of swords.

You can order the Iron Throne replica from ThinkGeek for $300 (USD). That’s way cheaper than the life-size replica, but it’s still a kingly sum. I still don’t understand why they don’t put a cushion or at least a sheet on the seat. Although I have not read the novels yet so I don’t know if George R.R. Martin has an explanation for it.
