This tiny cabin looks like a minion-inspired hobbit pod for an outdoorsy glamping getaway!

It’s no secret that glamping is the best of both worlds. Nestled away in the dense forest, amidst tall redwoods and animals’ homes, your hotel room awaits. Glamping brings the joys of camping and makes it palatable for those who’d rather sleep on a plush mattress than a centimeter-thick sleeping pad– I would too. Perched somewhere in the rolling hills of Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, a tiny cabin dubbed ‘The Willow’ accommodates glampers and travelers alike inside a zany retreat that looks a lot like escape pods from old sci-fi flicks.

With two rounded roofs, The Willow’s bulbous frame stands out against the sprawling green lawn where it’s situated. From the outside, The Willow appears like something straight from a science fiction cartoon, immediately drawing in its guests with its whimsical shape. Placed right in front of the tiny cabin’s wooden deck, two circular windows punctuate The Willow’s front-facing facade and provide unobstructed views of Pembroke’s countryside. Following the larger window inside the tiny cabin, guests are greeted with an open-floor studio layout, featuring a full living area with a television and sofa, a full-sized kitchen and dining area, along with a private bedroom, additional sleeping areas, and bathroom.

While The Willow might look as tiny as glamping pods come, the unit allows room for up four guests. While the main bedroom can sleep two people, two additional single sleeping pods are built into The Willow’s frame, providing more room for two more glampers. Resembling the form of what could be a futuristic, sci-fi escape pod, The Willow offers a means for guests to get away from their busy lifestyles for a moment in the countryside of Wales.

Modest in size, The Willow features a spacious deck with enough room for patio dinners and a hot tub attachment.

Inside, The Willow features an open-floor layout with optic white dining themes and complementing natural wood accents that open up the small space.

Come dark, warm patio lights turn The Willow into a night lantern and highlight the eave’s paneled exterior.

The Willow accommodates up to four people during each stay, sleeping up to two people in the master bedroom.

Cozy sleeping pods built into The Willow’s walls can further fit two more sleepers.

Perched atop Pembroke’s rolling countryside, The Willow offers an escape to nature with all the conveniences of a hotel.

Stars dot the night sky, under which guests of The Willow can enjoy a night in the hot tub.

Watch this camper expand into a two story tiny house powered by solar panels!

I love tiny homes and cabin designs because they show how you can creatively optimize small spaces and still make them highly functional. The latest on my list is the Haaks ‘Opperland’ camper because it is something I haven’t seen before – an expandable trailer! This cool camper turns into a tiny two-story house!

This durable camper is actually a hidden tiny home that brings exceptional comfort and enhanced capabilities while you choose your views. The compact structure is capable of being transported on a flatbed truck so you can bring your home and turn it into a vacation home in any place you like. Flexible lifestyle goes hand in hand with pop-up home designs like the Opperland camper that offers a sleeping loft as well as a lower section open for meal preparation, dining, relaxation, and other activities. A triangular pop-up roof transforms the wood-clad camper into your tiny home with all amenities and appliances. There is a small bathroom at the back of the camper including a shower and the staircase opposite it that leads to the upper level where a double mattress fills the space illuminated by a whimsical triangular window located in the pitch of the roof. “With the push of a button, the camper extends its support legs, so that the car can be driven under it; this remains available for day trips. The module self-levels and the automatically retracting roof unfolds your sleeping area,” explains the team.

It offers 45 liters of freshwater storage along with a wastewater tank and also features a Truma water heater along with a Victron inverter to provide essential amenities for inhabitants. It also has solar panels that provide the owners with endless power and let them travel for days. It also includes a kitchen with a sink, an induction cooktop, and an 81-l fridge/freezer. this is all powered by a 360-ah lithium-ion battery onboard. Large windows flood it with ample natural light and ventilation. The idea was to enable people to feel at home in the camper and make most of the gift of freedom that comes with it. “The Haaks camper is proof to me that durability, comfort, and beauty can go well together. A bold and innovative design that you want to be seen with,” says lberic Pater, Sustainability Manager at IKEA Netherlands.

This electric tiny camper is a houseboat and trike designed to travel on land and water!

Just to be fully prepared for all possibilities 2020 can bring, Zeltini has designed Z-Triton – an electric houseboat that does it all! The concept of having a vehicle that is a house, boat, and trike combined that travels over land and water is something straight out of a Spy Kids movie but Zeltini really came through with a real one!

The Z-Triton Electric Houseboat was created as a vehicle that could serve as an alternative to the traditional camper. It is comfortable enough to house two adults for a weekend getaway and the choice of land or water is up to the travelers. The amphibious nature of the modern camper fits into the flexible lifestyle we lead today, especially since air travel is not on the cards anytime soon it is opening up a lot of avenues for local trips in less popular/offbeat locations. The durable houseboat measures 3.6 meters in length, 1.2 meters in width, and 1.55 meters in height.

The team is testing the prototype by driving it around in different weather conditions to see if this tiny electric camper can be an all-terrain travel vehicle. It uses electric assistance that lets the users control power, lighting, temperature, and more. Simply fold up the seat and it unveils the floor space for two people to lay down. This quirky blue and orange vehicle has a tricycle mounted on one side that conveniently folds up or down to transition from land to water. Z-Triton will encourage more sustainable tourism and will allow people to travel spontaneously. It is scheduled to hit the market in 2021 and I am already making a list of places I want to take it to!
