The Boring Company completes excavation of its Las Vegas tunnels

Elon Musk’s Boring Company has finished excavating the second of two tunnels planned for the Las Vegas Convention Center’s underground loop transit system, according to The Verge. The city’s Convention Center (the LVCC) enlisted the company last year...

Mr. Musk’s anti-traffic tunnels

ICMYI (In Case You Missed It) turns out, Elon Musk isn’t joking. The traffic in Los Angeles pushed him to reinvent travel yet again… first with Tesla, second (and more broadly) with SpaceX), now the Boring Company aims at doing something you would expect from an Isaac Asimov novel.

The basic plan (as the video shows) is to convert the entire city’s underground into a dizzying network of life-size Hot Wheels tracks that cross, overlap, merge, etc., covering each and every nook and corner of the city. To regulate the traffic, cars wouldn’t drive on these tracks… They would be carried on platforms that move at speeds as high as 200kmph (even though your car isn’t technically moving, you’ll still need that seatbelt). These platforms appear on the road above and when the car parks itself inside it, they descend downwards into the network of tunnels and take off. It’s safe to say that this will obviously take some time, since Mr. Musk has a lot of projects to work on. Putting humans on Mars being one of the loftier objectives!

Elon Musk talks up electric plane at hyperloop event

Electric airplanes are practically a non-existent technology, but that could change if Elon Musk decides to put money and energy behind the particular concept he's been mulling over for a number of years now. And it could begin to change soon.

The Futuristic Tokyoflash Space Digits Watch

tokyoflash space digits The Futuristic Tokyoflash Space Digits Watch
The new super futurist Space Digits from Tokyoflash looks like a cross between Tron, Asteroids and the Star Wars crawl. The watch has a really cool look to it, as if you were looking into a tunnel. It’s simple to see the time and date- just read it along the “tunnel” walls.

It’s kind of mesmerizing…in a good way. The time is written out with four digits from left to right while the date is read from top to bottom.

So cool- it manages to be both retro, modern, and futuristic all at once. Does that make it a timeless timepiece (haha)? It comes in black, gold, silver with a green or gold LCD. It has an alarm, backlighting, and an animation mode as well.

For millions of pet owners out there, it’s time to stop the selfishness with regards to your furniture. Your furniture should be designed for everyone, not just the humans in your house. That’s the theory behind the Cat Tunnel Sofa, a couch designed for both you and your cat. Designer Seungji Mun actually built this sofa from scratch using big piece of pipe for the tunnel and foam for the cushions:
