Anti-Monster Emergency Cabinets: Supernatural Selection

Van Helsing has far worse things to worry about than fire, so his house might be filled with kits like In case of’s decorative emergency cabinets. They look just like fire emergency kits, but they’re filled with toy weapons, amulets, instructions and other tools for fighting various monsters.

Underworld Movie is Getting a Reboot with Same Producers

Reboots are nothing new in Hollywood these days, and honestly I rather like many of them. I like it when they take some of my favorite films, change them up, and toss them out there again. I particularly think Daniel Craig in the new James Bond films are a fantastic reboot and I have liked the Spiderman reboots as well.

Another film that I liked the first time around was Underworld with Kate Beckinsale. After the first film, the others did leave something to be desired. Still, word is that the franchise is getting a reboot.

The reboot is tipped to be in the works with the producers from the original films, Gary Lucchesi and Tom Rosenberg. Those two people produced all of the other films in the franchise. The writer for the script is Cory Goodman. The film is expected to be the Underworld: Next Generation movie that was announced earlier this year, and will likely focus on Selene’s hybrid daughter, Eve.

Giant LEGO Vampire Rises from the Ground in New Orleans

Over this past weekend, a vampire was born in New Orleans. No he wasn’t made by somebody biting him on the neck and draining his blood, he was made by a LEGO master builder from about 150,000 LEGO bricks.

This massive 10-foot-tall LEGO Monster Fighters Lord Vampyre rose in front of New Orleans’ iconic Jackson Square in the wee hours of the morning this past Sunday. It was built by LEGO Master builders along with an army of local residents and visitors who helped assemble the giant vampire, as they worked through the night to complete the sculpture.

Here’s a brief time-lapse clip of the build in progress…

Gotta love those light-up red eyes. How come they haven’t done that on True Blood yet? After it’s disassembled, the giant Lord Vampyre will be reassembled at LEGOLAND California for this year’s Halloween festivities.

White Silence PC Casemod Wants to Suck Your Blood

We’ve featured some crazy casemods here over the years, but I can honestly say this is the first one I’ve seen that has blood coursing through its veins. Ok, there’s not actual human blood flowing through the cooling lines of this PC, but it’s still pretty awesome.

The White Silence casemod features a stark white case with clean modern lines, accented by cooling lines filled with blood red fluid and matching red cables. Of course, not all of the blood could be contained, and a bit of it has splattered into the case, for an extra gory effect. If Dexter Morgan had a PC instead of a Mac, this would be his computer. Well, the Authority on True Blood could always go for it.

It turns out the system was built about two years ago, so under the hood is a Core i7 920, a GeForce GTX 295, 6GB of DDR3-1333 RAM and plentiful storage, with two 500GB Samsung SpinPoint drives, two 150GB VelociRaptor drives, and an 80GB Intel SSD.
