Soul of Animal GX Go Kitten Super Robot Action Figure: Sweded Voltron

Taiwanese toy shop Bid Toys won toymaker of the year in my books with its Soul of Animal GX Go Kitten, a parody of the OG Voltron that replaces the Lion Force with cats and boxes. As an olive branch to competitors, the action figure can’t disassemble into separate cats and boxes. Otherwise, all other toymakers would’ve had to shut down and think about what they’re even doing with their lives.

The 7″-tall action figure has articulated arms and wings, and its head can also be twisted to reveal a henohenomoheji.

Those feet cats have to be named 2020 and 2021. You can pre-order the Soul of Animal GX GOo Kitten from BigBadToyStore for $80 (USD). Curiously, the online store mentions that this figure is “[p]art of the Soul of Animal line.” What’s next? A crocodile Mazinger Z? A fennec fox Getter Robo? The possibilities are, well, they’re not endless, but they’re fun to think about.

Voltron Castle of Lions PC Case Mod: Activate Interlock!

There are good ideas, and then there are great ideas. And modder Robdp82 building a gaming PC (mostly emulation with some light e-gaming) into a 1984 Voltron Castle of Lions playset transcends even a great idea, and we can only hope when aliens finally visit earth this is the first thing they see so they don’t just immediately death-ray us all.

The computer is powered on by opening the jaws of the Black Lion emerging from the front of the castle to access the power button. The entire PC is built into the middle of the castle, with a wing that opens on each side. The wing on the left opens to expose the Blue, Green, Yellow, and Red Lion M.2 SSD cards and Yeston RX550 GPU, and the right side opens to reveal the Gigabyte H370N motherboard (with onboard Black Lion M.2 SDD) and two Corsair Dominator 8GB RAM sticks. The Dominator RAM was chosen specifically “for the ability to individually address the lights for the colors of Voltron (RGBY) and went with pink for the 5th color to represent Princess Allura.” Now that’s dedication to a build!

What a glorious computer. And to think I still use the same Dell Dimension desktop I got in college back in 2006. Granted I only use it as a footrest, but still. The wired mouse also makes a great doorstop. Reduce, reuse, recycle – that’s my motto. Captain Planet even sent me an ‘Honorary Planeteer’ sticker last Earth Day.

LEGO Voltron Defends the Blocky Universe

LEGO has confirmed the launch of an awesome new kit that started as a LEGO Ideas project by Voltron fan len_d69. The official LEGO Voltron is a gigantic 2,321-piece lit that lets you build up the Defender of the Universe. This thing is massive and very cool, and it’s the biggest LEGO Ideas concept to go into production so far.

You’ll build five lions, all of which can be combined to build the giant robot complete with sword and shield. The completed mech measures over 15″ tall, and his sword alone is 11″ long. Once assembled, Voltron even has a posable head, shoulders, arms and wrists.

The kit is 21311 and will go on sale in Europe and the US on August 1, 2018 for $179.99 from the LEGO store. If you happen to be attending San Diego Comic-Con in July, you might be able to score one a little early.

Deadpool Product Placement Pack Has No Actual Deadpool

Deadpool was the single greatest cinematic masterpiece ever made. In the movie, he has some random products that turned up that totally fit the Merc with a Mouth’s demented personality. Thanks to ThinkGeek you can own some of Deadpool’s stuff for yourself.

This Deadpool product placement pack features a Hello Kitty backpack that you can stuff with guns and ammo, then forget at home. The Voltron ring won’t cost you any Skee-Ball tickets, which is good news because it’s hard to win Skee-Ball without mutant reflexes. The last product is the Adventure Time Watch so you will always know when it’s Adventure Time!

The pack of three products will set you back $114.99(USD).
