Wine Glass With Straw: A Sippy Cup For Adults

wine-glass-with-straw-595x607

They’re selling these Oenophilia Porto Sippers with an integrated straw as being better for ports and liqueurs, allowing “your hand to warm the spirits as you sip through the stem.” But let’s not kid anyone: there’s something childishly cool about getting hammered by drinking alcohol through a straw; these are sippy cups for adults. And since it’s a “wine glass”, you can totally pretend you’re being classy. A set of 4 will set you back $40.

Bottoms Up Doorbell Dings Wine Glasses: Toaster

Smart doorbells are all the rage these days, but I’d rather have Droog’s Bottoms Up Doorbell. Invented by Peter van der Jagt, this delightful mechanical doorbell strikes two wine glasses to produce sound.

Check out one of the shortest YouTube videos ever made to hear what it sounds like:

You can buy the Bottoms Up Doorbell from Lumens or Amazon for around $290 (USD). Or you can have your maker friends replicate it for much less.

Mario Bros. Theme Music Played on Wine Glasses

What do you do when you’ve played all of the Mario games and beaten them? The music is now rattling around your brain, and there’s nothing left to play. You start playing the theme song, that’s what you do. You get yourself 48 wine glasses and you start your musical career. That’s apparently what YouTuber Dan Newbie has done.

Watch him perform the Super Mario Bros. theme using 48 wine glasses, two pencils and a frying pan. The guy is crazy. Crazy awesome. Are those glasses filled with wine? No, just water. It really sounds great. This guy is a master at the frying pan by the way. I’ve never seen such mastery of a cooking instrument. And his pencil work is masterful.

Awesome job, Dan. I would definitely buy the album.
