Fooding is a new kitchen appliance concept from Yifeleing that combines a microwave and air fryer into a one-stop shop for all your at-home fast food cooking needs.

Air fryers are like the microwaves of the 21st century. Over the span of sixty years, new designs have transformed the way we cook fast food at home. While new products have come out, the classics aren’t going anywhere. The air fryer is like the shiny new toy on the playground for trendy snacks like kale chips and low-cal vegan wings, but nothing beats a Hot Pocket straight out of the microwave.

Fooding, a new kitchen appliance concept from Yifeeling Design, combines the best of the microwave and air fryer. Turns out, we can have it all. Inspired by the bulbous shape of an astronaut’s helmet, Fooding merges the microwave’s traditional rectangular shape with the air fryer’s modern rounded edges.

While air fryers heat up some tasty meals, they typically take up a lot of counter space which makes them less user-friendly. By combining the air fryer with the microwave, Fooding takes up less space in the kitchen and merges two appliances into one for a one-stop-shop.

Similar to conventional microwaves, Fooding features an internal, rotating heat plate and a heat-strengthened glass covering so users can always keep an eye on their food. On Fooding’s left-hand side, a control panel features all of the different cooking options, including thaw, roast, air fry, heat, and slow cook, along with varying degrees of temperature.

We can all agree the microwave is one of the best things to come out of the 1940s. We’ve relied on them for after-school snacks and late-night dinners since they hit the market. Then, air fryers changed the game and made cooking fast food at home a little healthier. Fooding brings both to the kitchen and saves counter space at the same time.

Pocket is a compact paper shredder designed with a detachable pouch that collects all of your paper shreds before throwing them in the trash.

Paper shredders are the types of products that are reserved primarily for settings like clinics, pharmacies, banks, and educational settings. Whatever the reason we have for shredding paper, the bulkiness of most paper shredders turns the task into a journey that takes up more time than you’d expect.

Yifeeling, a design studio based in Zhengzhou, China, created their own Pocket paper shredder that’s small enough to tuck away alongside the books and binders that line your desk and comes with an integrated pocket that carries shreds before discarding them.

Shredding paper can be a headache when the machine you’re using doesn’t register differently textured paper. Like a vending machine incessantly spitting out your crumpled dollar bill, conventional paper shredders often have trouble swallowing crinkled and larger pieces of paper. Specifically designed to handle every kind of paper, Pocket can shred unfolded, folded, and crumpled paper scraps in one go.

Taking it one step further, Pocket can transform into a literal pocket at any moment. Whenever the user needs an exterior sack to catch all of the paper shreds moving through the machine, built-in slits near the outer edges of the Pocket shredder provide slots for random pieces of paper to latch onto and form a curved pouch to collect the shreds. Slim by design, Pocket is portable and compact for easy storage and quick shredding. No more are the days of dreading the long walk to the one paper shredder in the entire office, with Pocket, shredding paper can happen at your desk.

An ultra-compact oxygen concentrator machine tailored for places like high mountains where the oxygen levels drop with every step. The best thing, it doesn’t add to the carrying load of the wearer. which is a big advantage!

Climbing high peaks brings with it a set of unique challenges – low oxygen levels being the major one. This can cause breathing difficulties and in extreme cases fatalities in people with underlying medical conditions. That’s how important carrying oxygen reserves to high-altitude places actually is. This is turn gives rise to a new set of challenges – carrying bulky oxygen cylinders which can be laborious and take up a lot of useful space that could otherwise be used to store important supplies. Even using portable oxygen cylinders doesn’t have much merit.

I always imagined an oxygen concentrator machine that would be able to provide the necessary assistance while not being bulky or even look like a medical device, to be frank. This ultra-portable oxygen machine conceptualizes the dire need for a medical device capable of assisting climbers and trekkers in a form factor no bigger than your portable HHD. The compact outdoor equipment reduces all the extra bulk in a slim design that can be hooked right onto the backpack’s shoulder strap or your waist. It is so lightweight and small, you won’t even notice it is even there.

Dubbed OXYGIO, the portable oxygen concentrator designed by Yifeeling Design extracts the oxygen molecules from the air, filters, and compresses them to channel pure oxygen via the nasal cannula to the wearer. The medical equipment looks more like a modern gadget which is another advantage for people who like their things to be aesthetically pleasing. The digital display on the front shows the SPO2 levels and the remaining battery percentage.

While the designers don’t detail the operational time of the medical gadget, I presume it should be good for 3-4 hours. Also, the logical assumption is, it could be plugged into a battery bank to charge in around an hour or so . I seriously believe this should be the way to go for portable oxygen concentrator manufacturers who’ve stuck to the boring design for the most part. It would be the ideal situation if they can achieve the slim and ultra-compact form factor of the OXYGIO .

This autonomous robot acts as a passenger guide while disinfecting the public transport system!

An autonomous fleet of AI robots that disinfects precarious surfaces of public transport systems like metro coaches, and also guides passengers in and out of the station through the least crowded pathways.

The ongoing pandemic has radically shifted our perspectives when it comes to cleanliness and personal hygiene. No matter how hard we try to avoid the crowd, at some point in time, we have to head in the hot zone – public places in particular or use public transport. Such locations are the breeding ground for viral infections and COVID-19 of course. This is where autonomy can help so that nothing is left to chance and pathogens breeding in the hard-to-reach surfaces are cleansed for good.

Meet the CLEANSE robot designed by Yifeeling Design for sanitizing public places such as metros or malls. This autonomous robotic rig moving on independent driven wheels greatly reduces the risk of air-borne diseases in public transportation – subways in particular. It sets into action as soon as the metro train arrives at the station by first guiding the passengers to the exit through the station by analyzing the least crowded locations and choosing the path accordingly.

Another fleet of CLENASE robots disinfects each coach during the metro train’s halt at the station – ensuring that every nook and corner of the transportation system is free from any chances of the next batch of riders getting infected. This smart mechanism is paramount in ensuring not even a single passenger gets infects and further spreads the infection to other random people.

The smart robot is loaded with sensors and cameras to navigate during the course of its cleaning and passenger guiding regime. In the guiding role, the passengers can choose their destination from the interactive display on top of the robotic machine. For the cleansing role, the CLEANSE robot is loaded with a mop and brush underneath to get rid of dirt and dust on the walking surface.

To disinfect the other surfaces it sprays the disinfectant from the front and side nozzles. When it runs out of juice, the robot automatically hooks onto the charging bay at the station to get ready for its routine tasks!

They are everything, the baseline of quality.” A stationery design inspired by Braun’s styling needs Dieter Ram’s words to revise his design philosophy, a way to look into the minds that shaped the face of modern industrial design. To channel the same philosophies, we have this Braun-inspired pencil sharpener, and let’s look at how it touches the design principles in every facet of its design.

Meet the Co-Box, an electric pencil sharpener, minimal and geometric by design that is a worthy addition to every design nerd’s desk. The design is a white square shape, accentuated by an orange circle, reminiscent of the button we would see on our Braun machines. The circle also acts as an entry point for your pencil. The shavings get collected in a transparent box, to be disposed of at your conveniece. The design history of our 20th century is filled with iconic design moments, each one a point in time when the object became a part of our everyday life, almost seamlessly – all because of the nature of their design. This sharpener encapsulates the same timeless spirit and just like you hang your favorite posters on your wall, every designer holds an object by their iconic design mentors on their desk.

Simplicity, excellence, and functionality – these are the pillar of good design, and maybe having this sharpener on your desk will remind you to stay decluttered in your design philosophy, the way Dieter Rams envisioned good design should be!
