This $99 Clip-On AI Remembers Everything You’ll Ever Forget

If you live a life full of meetings and conversations, there’s a good chance you’ve forgotten something important that was said to you. Sure, you can take notes or jot things down as you go, but not everyone likes doing that, and not everyone has the time to stop and sort through everything they hear during a busy day.

The SwitchBot AI MindClip wants to do the heavy lifting for you by creating a “second brain.” It’s a lightweight, clip-on wearable AI gadget that can record conversations and meetings while also letting you add voice notes whenever inspiration strikes. From there, it automatically transcribes, summarizes, and organizes everything so the information ends up exactly where you need it, whether that’s your calendar, your to-do list, or a searchable archive you can revisit later.

Designer: SwitchBot

Plenty of recording devices already exist, mostly built to capture meetings and interviews. But the MindClip does more than just dump everything into one long audio file. It sorts your recordings into categories like Timeline, Priority, Daily Memory, Weekly Summary, and To-Do Overview. You can even sync it with your calendar and reminder apps, turning those “overheard” details into real, actionable schedules and tasks instead of letting them slip away.

As for the design itself, the AI MindClip is a small, button-like, square-shaped clip that looks more like a tiny badge or pin than an actual recorder. It’s built to blend into whatever you’re wearing rather than stand out, which makes it easy to put on every day and take just about anywhere. The device is made from aluminum alloy and ABS plastic, giving it a premium feel while keeping it both durable and lightweight at just 16.8 grams. It comes with a clip-back mount that easily attaches to collars, jackets, bag straps, and lanyards. It’s also sweat-resistant and splash-resistant, so it’s built to handle real-world scenarios like commuting, phone calls, meetings, and everyday wear without missing a beat.

This tiny device is packed with AI-powered features, including automatic speech-to-text transcription, AI summaries built from a variety of templates, automatic to-do generation, and weekly recap summaries. You can even ask it questions about past recorded audio using its “AskAI” conversational search feature, so instead of scrolling through old notes, you can simply ask what was said and get a straight answer.

Of course, a device like this naturally raises questions about privacy and legality. SwitchBot has built in a number of in-app privacy and data management controls, along with end-to-end encryption for both pairing and file transfer. Even so, there will likely be ongoing concerns given the device’s “always recording” nature. SwitchBot will need to make it clear that these features won’t create problems for the wearer or for the people around them, especially since many U.S. states require everyone in a conversation to consent to being recorded.

Personally, I still prefer pen and paper, or typing things out on a keyboard, when it comes to note-taking and remembering things I need to act on later. But no method is foolproof, and there are definitely moments, like a packed workday or a hectic family schedule, when a tool like this could genuinely come in handy.

At the end of the day, the SwitchBot AI MindClip is an interesting bet on where note-taking might be headed. Instead of asking people to change their habits by pulling out a phone or opening an app mid-conversation, it simply rides along, quietly listening and organizing so nothing important gets lost in the shuffle. Whether it becomes a genuine everyday essential or just another gadget that ends up in a drawer will likely come down to how well the AI features hold up in daily use and whether people feel comfortable wearing something that’s always listening.

Still, for busy professionals, parents juggling a dozen things at once, students sitting through long lectures, or anyone who’s ever walked out of a meeting thinking, “wait, what did we just agree to?”, the MindClip is at least trying to solve a problem most of us know all too well. Sometimes the best kind of tech isn’t flashy. It just quietly helps you remember.

At $69.99, the Boya Notra Neo Is the AI Note-Taker That Students Can Finally Afford

The Plaud NotePin costs $169. Boya’s own Notra flagship launched in February 2026 at $149.99. For a stretch, if you wanted a dedicated AI recorder with real transcription and AI-powered organization, you were looking at spending north of $150, which quietly priced the category out of reach for the students and young professionals who arguably needed it most. Every new tech category does this: it launches expensive, finds its early adopters, and then figures out how to bring the price down. Boya just compressed that timeline significantly with the Notra Neo, a $79.99 AI recorder that retains the core AI note-taking experience of the flagship.

Launching September 4th at IFA 2026 in Berlin, the Notra Neo targets students, young professionals, multilingual users, and anyone who has been curious about AI note-taking but wasn’t ready to drop $150 on the experiment. The spec differences from the Notra are real but they’re calibrated: storage drops from 64GB to 8GB, the ambient pickup range goes from 10 meters to 5 meters, and battery life trims from 24 hours to 20. The core AI feature set remains available, with transcription across 140-plus languages, speaker identification, summaries, to-do lists, mind maps, and AI Search across your entire recording history. Automatic switching between Ambient, Phone Call, and Bluetooth recording modes means the device reads the situation and adjusts without you touching a setting. Pre-orders open August 24 at $69.99.

Boya’s automatic scenario detection handles context management silently: Ambient kicks in for face-to-face conversations, Phone Call for phone calls (obviously), and Bluetooth when you’re on a virtual meeting through your earbuds. In Ambient mode, the device picks up 360-degree audio within a 5-meter radius, covering most classroom or conference table setups without precise positioning. For first-timers already managing a phone, a laptop, and half a dozen tabs, that simplicity matters more than any individual spec. None of this requires navigating a settings menu mid-session or remembering which mode you last used. A similar friction-removal logic powered the REETLE E-Ink iPhone case YD covered last year, where a single dedicated record button built into the frame turned out to be the one design decision that made the entire product click.

Keeping the full AI feature set identical to the flagship Notra is genuinely the most interesting product decision Boya made with the Neo. Transcription runs across 140-plus languages and dialects with speaker labeling, making it a credible tool for multilingual classrooms, international teams, and professionals who regularly conduct conversations across more than one language. The AI layer generates summaries, to-do lists, mind maps, and insights from those recordings, with 60-plus professional templates calibrated for different scenarios. AI Search lets you query your entire recording history without scrubbing through audio, which shifts this from a recorder into a searchable knowledge base. Everything syncs and exports through the Boya OS App and Web, with format options for audio, transcripts, summaries, and mind maps.

The Notra Neo boasts a cleaner front face than its flagship counterpart, swapping the “BOYA Notra AI” label for a simple “Boya” wordmark on a smoother surface. The form factor follows the compact square silhouette now standard in this category, but the softer branding reads younger and more consumer. Nothing about the physical profile announces entry-level in the way cheaper electronics sometimes can’t avoid, which matters for users already self-conscious about carrying a dedicated recorder. At $80, the Notra Neo competes less with the Plaud than it does with the phone propped against a water bottle, and that’s a smarter fight to pick.

Pre-orders for the Notra Neo open August 24, 2026, at a discounted $69.99. At its budget-friendly price, this is the most accessible entry point into dedicated AI recording the category has seen, and for anyone who has been putting off the experiment, the excuse just ran out.

With a focus on innovation that truly makes a difference, Saramonic’s products have become trusted tools for content creators and filmmakers worldwide. This product showcases their drive to innovate, pushing what’s possible in a lightweight, wireless microphone system.

Precision at the Core of the Saramonic Ultra

The heart of the Saramonic Ultra wireless mic is accuracy and reliability in audio capture. Every feature has been designed to help creators achieve flawless results without the usual hassles associated with professional audio setups.

Timecode synchronization in the Saramonic Ultra wireless mic is designed to solve a common pain point for filmmakers and videographers—matching audio with video footage across multiple devices. This feature ensures frame-perfect alignment, which is a lifesaver during post-production. Whether managing a complex multi-camera shoot or working with a single unit, Timecode ensures the output stays synchronized, cutting down on editing headaches.

This synchronization streamlines workflows and improves the quality of the final product. Eliminating sync errors means fewer retakes and less time spent aligning clips, freeing creators to focus more on their projects’ narrative or creative elements.

Audio environments can be unpredictable—one moment might require capturing a whisper, and the next, a sudden loud cheer. The Saramonic Ultra wireless mic addresses this with 32-bit float recording, which preserves a wide dynamic range, ensuring that all the subtle details are retained. Unlike traditional recording methods where audio can clip and distort, 32-bit float technology provides a clean recording by covering a broader range of sound levels.

The 8 GB onboard storage further complements this functionality, allowing users to focus on capturing content without the constant need to worry about connectivity to other devices. For field journalists or outdoor filmmakers, this feature is particularly handy, allowing greater flexibility while on location.

Noise Control and Enhanced Audio Quality

High-quality audio means capturing the right sound, free from interference and distortion. The Saramonic Ultra wireless mic has been engineered with a host of features to manage noise and enhance vocal clarity, ensuring audio quality that meets professional standards.

ClearVoice™ is designed to help you capture what matters most—the subject’s voice. In any recording environment, unwanted background noise can interfere with capturing high-quality sound. ClearVoice™ technology acts to minimize this interference, focusing specifically on vocal frequencies. From recording an interview in a busy city to capturing dialogue during a crowded event, this feature helps bring vocal clarity to the forefront.

In addition to ClearVoice™, the Saramonic Ultra wireless mic also features Low-Cut modes and Vocal Boost options that cater to more specialized needs. The Low-Cut mode eliminates low-frequency noises, such as hums from air conditioners, while the Vocal Boost enhances the primary vocal frequencies, ensuring clarity.

Automatic Gain Control (AGC) is another vital feature for maintaining high-quality sound. Recording conditions can change quickly, and audio levels can shift from quiet to loud without much warning. AGC automatically adjusts the recording levels in real-time, preventing over-modulation and maintaining a balanced output. This means users can focus on capturing the event rather than constantly adjusting audio levels to accommodate the surroundings.

Engineered for Versatile Recording Conditions

Recording environments are diverse, and audio gear must be versatile enough to handle it all. The Saramonic Ultra wireless mic is built to thrive in challenging environments, whether on a film set, at a live concert, or outdoors in unpredictable weather.

The Saramonic Ultra wireless mic is engineered to handle high-noise environments, capturing clear audio without distortion or clipping, whether it’s a concert or an interview in a crowded venue. Many systems struggle with high sound levels, but this is where the Ultra shines, allowing for greater versatility in where and how you choose to use it.

The Saramonic Ultra wireless mic also has an IPX5 waterproof rating, making it ideal for outdoor shoots where unexpected rain or humidity might compromise your gear. From documenting nature to covering live outdoor events or filming in unpredictable conditions, the Ultra’s waterproof design ensures reliability, allowing creators to focus on the content without worrying about their equipment.

The Saramonic Ultra also features an external antenna, ensuring reliable wireless transmission even at distances up to 300 meters, which makes it a dependable choice for larger sets or outdoor environments.

Designed with versatility in mind, the Saramonic Ultra wireless mic features interchangeable Lightning and USB-C connectors. This ensures compatibility with a wide range of devices, from professional cameras to smartphones. Be it in a studio setting or shooting on location, the connectors make it easy to integrate the microphone into different workflows seamlessly.

The fixed 3.5mm female jack also adds to the connectivity options, ensuring that older equipment or specific setups requiring traditional connections can still be used without fuss. It’s all about providing flexibility without sacrificing simplicity.

Real-World Applications—Where the Saramonic Ultra Shines

A good microphone system adapts to a variety of settings and demands. The Saramonic Ultra wireless mic is suited to a wide range of applications, making it a versatile tool for creators across different industries.

The Saramonic Ultra wireless mic is a natural fit for film production and content creation, where capturing synchronized, high-quality audio is non-negotiable. The Timecode synchronization and 32-bit float recording make post-production much smoother, reducing the need for manual sync corrections and ensuring clean, detailed sound.

For live event coverage, the Saramonic Ultra wireless mic’s ability to handle high SPL, combined with intelligent noise management, makes it invaluable. It captures crisp, clear sound even when faced with fluctuating volume levels, ensuring consistent audio quality from the stage to the soundboard.

The case offers more than one full charging cycle for two transmitters and one receiver, ensuring the system remains powered for longer shoots. With a 2900 mAh battery capacity, the charging case provides up to 24 hours of operating time, making it invaluable during extended sessions or on-location shoots without power access.

Pricing and Availability

Saramonic understands that creators have different needs, which is why they offer two configurations for the Ultra: the standard version at $269 and a dual Lavalier setup at $299. The Saramonic Ultra is available in two color options: Black and White, giving creators the freedom to choose a style that best suits their preferences and setup.

The Ultra will be available for pre-order from November 7th and will officially launch on November 21st. Available through Saramonic’s website and a network of global retail partners, the Ultra is accessible to professionals worldwide who are ready to enhance their audio recording capabilities.
