HP Imagine 2023 showcases streamer goodies, a new All-in-One PC, and more

The world premiere HP Imagine showcase event has now come and gone, and with it, HP announced (and subsequently released) a flurry of new products ahead of the Q4 holiday shopping rush. A rather large chunk of the conference focused on HP’s new suite of AI-powered software, but they also highlighted two new computers – including the brand’s newest foldable laptop, the Envy Spectre Fold, as well as the new Envy Move All-in-One PC which looks kind of like a portable iMac for Windows users.

HyperX, which is HP’s gaming arm, also has three new gizmos for streamers to play with this holiday season: the HyperX Vision S Webcam, the HyperX Audio Mixer Audio Interface, and the HyperX Caster Microphone and Camera Arm.

Designer: Hewlett-Packard (HP)

The HP Envy Move seems to be the flagship of HP’s late-2023 lineup, which makes sense given that it’s HP’s first computer to merge the power of a mid-tier desktop with the portability of a laptop, allowing it to be picked up and moved to any part of the home thanks to its built-in rechargeable battery. It’s not a cutting-edge gaming PC by any means, but its built-in 23.8″ 2K display, 13th gen Intel i5 CPU, 16 gigs of LDDR5 RAM, and 1TB of solid state (SSD) storage make it a solid workstation with light gaming and media capabilities at its $899.99 asking price.

If you’re a streamer, however, you’ll likely want to pay more attention to the slew of useful tools HyperX has made available, such as the HyperX Vision S webcam which records in 4K at 60 frames per second for a relatively affordable MSRP of $199.99. It’s also advertised to include a magnetic privacy cover for when you want your private moments to be completely private, worry free, without needing to take the entire thing down and set it up again later when it’s time to stream again.

HyperX has also introduced its new microphone and camera arm, called the HyperX Caster, which looks like a nifty tool to quickly get a wide variety of XLR and USB mics set up and ready to go on any desk – without all the usual hassle. It appears to have plenty of reach, and even contains a built-in cable management system to declutter your streaming area of any loose cables. Unlike most of the other products announced at Imagine, you’ll need to wait until February 2024 before you can get your hands on this one.

Also available starting in 2024 is the new HyperX Audio Mixer, a “professional-quality” USB audio mixer that is compatible with XLR mics – out of the box, at that. Whether or not it competes against comparable mixers like the Elgato Stream Deck (or Razer’s equivalent) remains to be seen, but given the rising popularity of streaming across nearly every social media platform and every interest category, it’s exciting to watch more manufacturers like HP enter the space with their own products.

The Lenovo Yoga AIO 9i all-in-one PC is just as pretty on the back as it is on the front…

Crafted to look like a sophisticated visual balancing act, the Lenovo Yoga AIO is a marvel of design and engineering. This absolute looker of an all-in-one PC comes with an expansive 31.5-inch, 3-side borderless, 4K 100% sRGB display connected to its base by a gorgeously minimal metal hinge that lets you adjust the display angle to your liking. On the base, you’ve got 7 ports for better cable management, including a pass-through USB-C port that lets you charge both your AIO as well as a laptop (if you’re using it as an external display). The circular base, although compact, even comes with built-in Harman Kardon speakers, along with a dedicated wireless charging zone for your smartphone or AirPods.

Designer: Lenovo

Just looking at its design, you know that the Yoga AIO 9i was made for creatives. It’s powerful, but it isn’t a work horse, it’s a majestic stallion, with an interplay between black and bronze, and a use of minimal geometric detailing to make the all-in-one PC look like a work of art. The device comes with compatibility for 13th Gen Intel i7 and i9 processors that can be paired with an NVIDIA GeForce Next-Gen Laptop GPU to give you a machine capable of heavy photo/video editing as well as gaming.

The minimal-yet-ornate all-in-one PC still manages to have a few tricks up its sleeve. It comes with its own 5MP infrared webcam with a built-in electric shutter and smart login capabilities. You’ve also got four Harman Kardon speakers under the hood (2 tweeters and 2 subwoofers), and Dolby Atmos audio for an immersive audio experience to match the 4K imagery on the display. Yes, there’s a 3.5mm jack on the back too, if you’ve got better speakers or headphones available. Impressively enough, the Yoga AIO 9i still manages all this while having an aggressively reduced carbon footprint. 75% of all the aluminum used in its manufacturing is recycled, and the dedicated keyboard that comes with your Lenovo Yoga AIO 9i contains up to 65% post-consumer recycled ABS plastic. The Yoga AIO 9i is expected to be available starting in Q3 2023, and is priced at $1799.99.

Microsoft announces the Surface Studio 2+, a flexible all-in-one desktop for professional creators

Microsoft Surface Studio 2+

Designed as an upgrade to their Surface Studio 2, the 2+ now has double the graphical capabilities of its predecessor and comes built expressly for Windows 11.

Earlier today, Microsoft announced a slew of hardware products under their Studio line (along with even an audio dock system for enterprise use with their Teams software). Debuted alongside next-gen announcements for the Surface Tab and Laptop, the company even revealed an upgraded version of their flagship all-in-one desktop system. Aptly titled the Surface Studio 2+ (since it’s an upgrade, not a next-gen), the desktop device comes with the same flexible, adjustable design as its predecessor, however with a few tweaks under the hood. The Studio 2+ sports a massive 28″ PixelSense™ touchscreen with support for a digital pen, with a virtually weightless, adjustable Zero Gravity Hinge connecting it to the main hub.

Designer: Microsoft

Microsoft Surface Studio 2+

The Studio 2+ comes with an 11th Gen Intel® Core™ H-35 Processor under the hood (50% faster than the Studio 2) with 32GB DDR4 memory, enabling multitasking, working with large files, and conducting video calls right on the device. It even houses an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX® 3060 Laptop GPU with the latest RT Cores, Tensor Cores, and streaming multiprocessors, offering double the graphical productivity of its predecessor.

The Surface Studio 2+ comes with an abundance of essential ports including thunderbolt and USB-C inputs, a 3.5mm input, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. The 28″ display boasts a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 4500 x 3000 resolution with support for Dolby Vision and color calibration suited for most artist and creative-based applications. Gorilla Glass 3 on the top keeps the display unit protected against scratches, scuffs, and any other damage.

Other hardware specs include a front-facing 1080p camera with Windows Hello face-unlock, 1TB of SSD storage, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, stereo 2.1 speakers and dual far-field microphones, and finally a Surface Pen and Surface Keyboard that comes bundled with the Studio 2+. The Microsoft Surface Studio 2+ ships with a 1-year limited warranty, and impressively enough, is designed with replaceable components, enabling repairing and upgrading with time.

Pricing and availability details for the Microsoft Surface Studio 2_ are still forthcoming, and this piece will be updated once the information becomes available.

This power-packed workstation is an iMac knockoff for Windows users

The sleekly designed iMac is a classy desktop computer boasting security that is far superior to a Windows PC. Still, it has certain loopholes such as high price, limited upgradability, and software restrictions. That said, Windows-based workstations have also made the wiser move towards a slimmer profile. Rather than expanding in size horizontally won’t it be great if a cool-looking workstation is there which makes use of the vertical space?

Designer: Chris Granneberg

Meet the WS1 Workstation concept designed by industrial design expert Chris Granneberg. This desktop inspired by the Sonos’ unique form is a power-packed computer to run software applications like SolidWorks, KeyShot, or the odd gaming session on the weekends. Just like an all-in-one iMac workstation, this Windows 11 PC has a very clean geometry and cool military green color, The 27-inch monitor is positioned adjacent to the rig holding the powerful hardware inside and the ports are placed to the side. The idea of a peppy desktop is something akin to the Xbox S-inspired all-in-one mini Windows PC.

The WS1 Workstation has a bit bigger volume than the one designed by New Land Design, but that’s understandable because of the high-end graphics card, cooling system and other components. The distance between them has to be optimal for enhanced cooling and performance – so a designer, digital artist or gamer won’t have any complaints about the slightly beefy proportions on the backside. The all-in-one PC has a height-adjustable screen to get just the right ergonomic as well as eye comfort for stress-free working for long hours too. The designer promises to add more ports and connectivity options to the PC in future iterations. Personally, I would like to see someone design such a PC with more color options and a slightly slimmer profile (if that’s possible with high-end hardware) to spice things up and take the challenge head on to Apple!

With extending screens, LED bar, wireless charging & more, this PC is everyone’s dream desk setup!

This all-in-one desktop PC takes the next technological leap, leveraging the capabilities of 5G to bring forth an all-in-one PC design that uses cloud streaming to run high-end softwares remotely.

The ultra-thin 24-inch iMac is a desirable piece of technology that demands a premium price. The closest competition to this niche PC form factor is the Acer Aspire S 24 or the HP Envy all-in-one computer line-up. Although, such is the design iteration and performance of Apple’s all-in-one desktop that other options are somewhat over-shadowed. So, there is a definite premium market that Windows PC manufacturers can cash in on, leaving Apple to push even more for their upcoming iMac models.

The core of the idea penned by product designer Seong Yong Kim is the controlling capability of a high-performance PC using real-time remote streaming courtesy of the 5G technology. It is much like Google’s Stadia cloud gaming platform that relies on ultra-fast connectivity speed to run games on high-end hardware on remote servers without the need to physically purchase an expensive graphics card, CPU or RAM.

Christened 5G Workstation FLOW, this PC is capable of running resource-heavy photo and video editing software, graphics-intensive games, music composition applications, or anything that requires high-end CPU and GPU processing – remotely from the servers without any issues. Seong has designed the FLOW PC keeping in mind content creators who are constantly pushed to upgrade their hardware to meet the requirements of ever-evolving applications.

This concept PC is a very good example of things to come in the future as the tech community makes the gradual shift towards workflow that’s tailored for performance sans the need to upgrade the internal hardware to keep u with performance requirements over the years to come. In addition to that, FLOW is much more than just a beautiful display with its in-built height-adjustable mount arm stand.

The monitor can extend into a multi-monitor configuration by simply clipping on the extra monitors to the main panel. To extend the functionality, the mount arm has an extending LED bar that doubles as a wireless charger for gadgets and displays real-time widget information such as weather updates, incoming messages on your phone, or prompts for software updates. The wireless keyboard comes with USB ports for quick wired charging needs.

For quick access to favorite applications, there is an accompanying remote and a trackpad in themed color to complete the ecosystem. The designer however doesn’t elaborate much in detail on the functionality of these add-ons. Overall this idea of making the metamorphosis towards cloud-oriented PC services is something I like already!

DIY building block-like components make up this futuristic PC design

In this technology-infused world, working with or on a computer is almost unavoidable. This is especially true for graphic and designers, animators, filmmakers – anyone whose work calls for specialized computer programs. Among these creative professionals, all-in-one computers like an iMac are preferred due to their slim, compact device. However, when these devices grow old, it’s difficult to repair and replace specific hardware — you almost always have to buy a brand new device.

Now, some tech companies, like Apple, will buy back your older models in exchange for store credit. However, why replace a product when you can upcycle it? The Modular Workstation Computer offers an alternative device that would make this process easier. The computer’s internal hardware – its processor, memory, etc. – is attached to a tray of large, cube-like pieces that can be pulled off and reattached. This design choice is a huge departure from standard laptops, which tuck their hardware inside the body of the computer, requiring you to unscrew the bottom plate to access it. This inconvenience may discourage consumers from learning more about how their computer works – and how they might use that knowledge to extend the life of their device.

The Modular Workstation Computer presents a better solution: one that reduces long-term costs and environmental impact. This technology has the potential for mass adoption, especially as consumers move towards more sustainable, long-term purchases.

The Braille-book brings computing one step closer to inclusiveness

The minute I say the words All-In-One PC, what do you think of? A screen, right? An iMac-esque display that houses a CPU within it, and all you need is a keyboard and a mouse. The caveat with that setup, however, is that a display is literally the last thing a visually impaired person needs. The Braille-book, designed around this unique yet existing problem, merely shifts all the electronics into a keyboard. The Braille-book is an all-in-one PC that’s designed to be housed within the keyboard, and can easily be hooked to a monitor and a mouse.

The monitor, keyboard, and mouse are completely essential to the computing experience, and the Braille-book just simply changes which device takes the center-stage. The keyboard comes with ports that let you hook all the peripherals you need to it, and even packs a dynamic braille display along its base, with keys to match. Since the visually impaired constantly need to touch and feel their way around a keyboard surface to know which keys they have their fingers on, the Braille-book packs an easy alternative. The braille display at the base shifts and changes based on your typing needs, switching between alphabetical to numeric, and above it lie a row of keys that correspond to each braille unit. The user runs their finger along the dynamic braille display and when they find the right character, they press the key above it. The Braille-book even packs its own in-built speakers that improve accessibility by providing audio feedback to the user as they use the computer. Alternatively, right beside the HDMI port (for a display, if you do need one) is a headphone jack that lets you hook up headphones to the all-in-one PC for a more personal, private browsing experience. Computers, for the longest time, have developed more around the visual sense than any other sense. The Braille-book corrects that imbalance.

Hot Amazon Daily Deals: All-in-One PCs, Earphones and Gamepads

HP Envy 34-a150 All-in-One Desktop PC 03HP Envy 34-a150 All-in-One Desktop PC 03

Amazon Daily Deals are a great chance for any tech enthusiast to buy discounted gadgets, electronics and more. Today, we’re taking a look at an All-in-One desktop PC that saves space for productivity addicts, a pair of earphones that make commuting easier and a gamepad that will make your weekends better.

1More Quad-Driver Earphones Make Commuting Enjoyable Again

No matter if you enjoy listening to music, podcasts or audiobooks, having a pair of high-quality earphones is a must today for the commuting community. Chinese audio company 1More, best known in some parts of the world for its partnership with Xiaomi on the Piston series of earphones, has recently launched an impressive product in the form of the Quad-Driver In-Ear headphones.

With three balanced armatures and a titanium dynamic driver, these 1More earphones are able to deliver crystal-clear sound regardless of the genre you enjoy listening.

The earphones have a remote control that’s compatible with both iOS and Android devices. The product connects to smartphones and DAPs via a 3.5mm jacks, but if you happen to own an iPhone 7 or a Xiaomi Mi6, then using these earphones will require an additional adapter.

At $169.99, which is how much these costs today on Amazon Daily Deals, the 1More Quad Driver In-Ear Headphones might not be the first choice of budget-oriented music listeners. However, given the top quality of the components and the attention to detail that the manufacturer has put into these, the 1More Quad-Driver In-Ear headphones will certainly delight audiophiles.

HP ENVY 34-a150 All-in-One Brings Design and Productivity Together

If you’re tired of routing cables between your desktop PC, monitor, and speakers, then an All-in-One desktop might be the best solution for you. However, if your criteria also include a 21:9 aspect ratio and a curved display, it might seem that you don’t have that many options to choose from. HP anticipated this need and created the 34-a150 All-in-One desktop PC which meets the above requirements and more.

HP Envy 34-a150 was launched back in March 2016, which might explain the huge discount available today only on Amazon. That being said, the technical specifications still make it a strong contender for anyone wanting to stay productive while saving space, not to mention that this device still holds the title of the world’s widest curved All-in-One.

With a resolution of 3440×1440, this AIO is great for work, but can also provide an immersive experience while gaming. The 34″ curved display is definitely great for both, and the horsepower is enough for running casual games. After all, the HP 34-a150 is powered by an Intel Skylake i7-6700T quad-core CPU that’s paired with 12GB of DDR4-2133Mhz memory and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960A graphics with 2GB GDDR5 dedicated memory. As for storage, it includes a 1TB hard drive and a 128GB M.2 SSD where the system files are stored.

Intel’s RealSense Full HD camera makes it easy to speak to your friends, family and business contacts over Skype or Google Hangouts. As for connectivity, this AIO sports a Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2×2) and Bluetooth 4.0 M.2 combo.

Ultrawide screens have gained a lot of ground in the past few years, and the r/UltraWideMasterRace sub-Reddit is definitive proof of that. If you’re looking to get into this trend yourself, Amazon sells the HP Envy 34-a150 today only for $1,499, down $500 from the regular price.

Have a Blast While Gaming with the Steam Controller

Valve’s Steam controller currently has nearly 2,400 reviews on Amazon, so there’s no question that this product is popular with gamers out there. This gadget is not exactly new, and went through a lot of revisions, but its popularity with gamers is proof that it’s a well-made product.

With the Steam Controller in hand, you are no longer tied to your office or gaming chair while playing games. Transitioning from a mouse and keyboard to it is incredibly simple and intuitive, so there’s practically no learning curve involved.

Amazon currently sells the Steam Controller with a considerable discount, meaning that you’ll only have to pay $34.99 instead of $49.99. Keep in mind that this is part of Amazon Daily Deals, so don’t waste any time and go buy it! Your gaming experiences will change dramatically with the little gadget, but only for the better.
