Denim-covered furniture and gym equipment are a striking nod to the iconic material

It may now be a common sight on jeans, jackets, and even some bags, but there was a point in history when denim was considered revolutionary and cool. It has been and still is plastered on billboards and advertisements for casual wear, but denim was once a symbol of the American dream. From miners to cowboys to blue-collar workers, denim jeans have been worn by people from all walks of life, striving to make a living and establish a home for their families. The way we live today is drastically different from those times, yet denim remains a staple of clothing, and this almost eccentric collection of homeware and other projects pay tribute to the material in a way that reflects how much has changed over the decades.

Designer: Harry Nuriev

As a material, denim is known for its rugged looks and properties that have made it favorable in certain rough conditions. Of course, denim clothing today has more or less become a staple of casual wear all over the world, but for a very long time, it has been a classic American symbol that was associated with workers and the middle class. Times have changed, and so have the way we live and work, and these denim-clad products convey that fact in an interesting new way.

The pieces are already unique and distinctive on their own. After all, who would have dreamed up gym equipment covered in this blue fabric? A relatively soft DJ booth is also a bit ironic when you think about it, and a denim wall paneling almost makes you want to run into it for fun. Other objects are a bit more understandable, like tables and chairs that give off a sense of comfort even just by looking at them.

The collection, however, seems to also make a statement about the modern lifestyle, especially where “home” has become as much a place of activity as it is of rest. The denim pool bed set, for example, seems to embrace anything and everything that you do at home, whether it’s sleeping, eating, working, or connecting with family and friends. It is the extreme manifestation of our hybrid work life after the COVID-19 pandemic, where borders and divisions are torn down, for better or for worse.

Denim today has become a part of both everyday wear as well as the haute-couture world, but it also once symbolized the American dream. It has left an indelible mark on human culture, and this odd yet beautiful selection of furniture and products for the home honors that history while also emphasizing how much denim is part of everyday life, at home, at work, and work-from-home.

Kenko Sports Equipment combine minimalist and sustainable approach to design

Kenko Store Gym Equipment

Having a home gym can be of great convenience. You have no reason now not to work out because you have the proper tools at your reach. Your personal gym doesn’t have to be complete as you only need a few dumbbells, a bench, and a mat to start.

Over at the Maison & Objet fair, we saw a few brands and designers worthy of attention. One name that has stood out is Kenko —a company committed to developing sports equipment for use at home. The idea is to make minimalist versions of the standard fitness equipment using natural materials.

Designers: Andreas Bachmann and Fritz Grospietsch

Kenko Store Gym Equipment

With this goal, Kenko is able to come up with regeneration items that don’t only help you with your health and fitness goals but also fit any home interior. Gym equipment usually looks bland, boring, or industrial, but not with Kenko. The Kenko sports equipment and products mainly boast simple designs and innovative functions. Materials are premium quality, starting with cork and wood, used for geometric shapes that have become the distinguishable trait of Kenko.

The Kenko sports equipment can also become conversation starters. They look like sculptural pieces that may also function as home decors. Product designers Andreas Bachmann and Fritz Grospietsch have managed to create a unique line that would make a sustainable alternative to the typical gym equipment available in the market.

Kenko wants the sports equipment to be as beautiful as the home. Therefore, the mission has always been to deliver premium quality standards and use natural materials to take advantage of local production. A few notable products have captured our attention, including the Kettlebell Series, Trigger Cone, Massage Stick, Massage Ball, and the Dumbbell Series. The latter is available in either Walnut or Maple with polished stainless steel for manufactured weight plates.

The Kettlebell Series is also ready in Walnut or Maple. The eye-catcher that is this kettlebell is made from solid wood in a complicated process that results in a more stable and durable handle. Like the Dumbbell Series, the Kettlebell Series is available in different weight options.

The Massage Ball is perfect for those with tension or sore muscles. It is made of stainless steel and comes with a cork cover. The cork is for insulation as the ball can be filled with hot water (up to 80°C ). Use the massage ball and apply on the tense or painful part of your body. The Massage Stick can also be described as the same—same materials, features for insulation, and offers the same relief.

The Trigger Cone is composed of brass and cork, which makes it an ideal solution for any muscular tension. Use it to massage a tense region in a circular motion. This will help stimulate blood circulation and relieve stress whether you are lying down, sitting, or standing.

This modern kettlebell merges your living room design with your workout from home routine!

Hi Moon features an open, circular design that appeals to many modern home design elements.

Working out from home has changed the way we design free weights and exercise equipment. With our living rooms doubling as makeshift home gyms, all of the equipment that comes with it makes a mess of the room. Weights pile up in the corners and random workout gear clutters the couch.

In order to make a kettlebell as inconspicuous as any other living room product, a team of designers created Hi Moon, a circular kettlebell that could easily pass for a modern vase or piece of ceramic artwork. Hi Moon would look right at home beside a small bouquet of flowers or even on the windowsill.

Available in three muted colors, Hi Moon comes in coral-green, cloud grey, or peach orange. The array of available color options gives Hi Moon a versatile edge, fitting into several home color and design schemes. No matter where you’re working out at home, Hi Moon adds a touch of style to every home gym and living room.

The gritty texture of Hi Moon allows for easy handling and a secure grip. Following a period of brainstorming, Feier Design Studio settled on a final color scheme and shape for Hi Moon. Conceptualized in cloud grey, coral blue, and peach-orange, the design can seamlessly blend into any home color scheme. The circular, open form of Hi Moon appeals to the modern home and boasts an overall inconspicuous design.

Kettlebells are generally known for their bulky shape and awkward grip, but Hi Moon’s smooth finish adds a little more comfort to the traditional kettlebell and allows for a variety of different exercises and grip positions. While the more traditional kettlebell features a round triangle handle, Hi Moon rounds that out even further and gives it a gritty texture for easy handling.

Peloton gets redesigned for a full body workout & recovery massage with aromatherapy at home!

The pandemic gave a huge boost to at-home workout equipment, especially the Peloton bikes. Peloton Vibe is based on the brand but elevates the at-home biking workout into a more well-rounded full-body experience! It is designed in a way to incorporate traditional weight training and also includes muscle recovery, aromatherapy, and music. Peloton Vibe caters to every sense and muscle from start to finish, it is truly a whole vibe.

The bench has a unique multi-position arm that can be moved to work with a variety of exercises. The lower portion stores a set of dumbbells that help expand to a larger range of guided workouts by the Peloton App service. Once you complete your workout, the bench seat and arm surface seamlessly transform into a massage experience. It utilizes built-in massage balls that can rotate and heat up based on your preferences. At-home gym equipment AND at-home spa? I would work out more often simply so I can make the most of the heated massage feature.

Peloton Vibe is focused on a more wholesome experience, it’s recovery features set it apart from all other home workout equipment. “Massage can release muscle tension, prevent injuries, promote faster muscle recovery, improve range of motion and flexibility. People need a massage, not only in need of treatment function, but also sensory enjoyment of environmental atmosphere, in which much equipment currently is lacking. Peloton Vibe has everything for the full experience,” says  Yinyifan Mo.

Unlike other bulky home exercise equipment, Peloton Vibe also doubles up as flexible home furniture so as to blend with the interior setup and not be an eyesore. It plays music and has aromatherapy features that add to the relaxing home ambience even if you are not working out. It has a minimal pill shape and clean design lines with rounded angles. The bench is padded for comfort and the curves ensure the safety of everyone around. The matte black and glossy black combination give it a modern aesthetic, especially the light bar which reflects light in a natural and diffused manner without disturbing the home environment.

Peloton users are loyal to the brand because their design and technology promote fitness by empowering people to be the best versions of themselves anywhere, anytime. Peloton Vibe builds on that and expands its services in a way that is organic to the brand while giving the users a wholesome experience. The redesign elevates the home fitness products to give us more comprehensive equipment that blur the boundaries between exercise, muscle recovery, and overall wellbeing!

This complete home gym blends with your home interiors to retain your work-workout balance!

While some of us are eager to get back into the gym following a year’s worth of on and off stay-at-home orders, the rest of us are looking for ways to up our home gym game. Now that we know we can enjoy all the perks of a gym in the comfort of our own private homes, many are prioritizing home gym renovation projects over resubscribing to monthly gym fees. Merging the home gym with storage capabilities, the Stoyka from product design studio Dydykin is a power rack for the modern home designed to look like high-end furniture.

Since physical fitness has become integral to our daily routines, the purpose behind Stoyka aims to strike a balance in using living spaces as fitness studios. In finding that harmony, the designers behind Stoyka integrated a storage system into the power rack, which slides out from behind the power rack’s rear wall. These sliding racks carry enough room to store the power rack’s barbells, round weighted plates, as well as rack accessories like support beams and spotter’s arms. Interchangeable by design, the Stoyka seamlessly blends into any home or office space simply by sliding the hidden storage panels behind the power rack’s rear wall. Equipped with the means for strength HIIT training and balance and flexibility exercises, Stoyka comes complete with reinforced racks, hooks, safety stops, crossbars, and removable wall bars.

With storage doors designed similarly to that of sliding doors in the kitchen, the idea behind Stoyka’s hidden storage units aims to bring the home gym into any modern living space without compromising the interior design of any given room. With so many of us itching to get active and near barbells again, what better way than to bring them right to our living room?

Designer: Dydykin

Round weighted plates and barbells make up the bulk of Stoyka’s hidden storage space.

With stainless steel accents and an inconspicuous design, Stoyka blends into any living room when not in use.

In addition to barbells and plates, the storage compartments carry support beams and spotter racks.

While Stoyka does have a wider body, its rear wall merges with the home’s interior walls as if they were always connected.

Depending on the living space it finds itself in, the Stoyka comes in different colors to match the interior schemes of various rooms.

Home gyms that complement your IKEA furniture and ensure you fulfil your fitness goals: Part 3

Did you know that athletes can start to lose their muscle strength in about three weeks if they’re not working out, according to a 2013 Trusted Source study. The one thing our educational system fails in establishing is the importance of discipline in taking care of our bodies, and the difference between taking a day off to sleep in vs taking a week’s break in case life throws us a hurdle. Covid-19 threw the entire world a hurdle from which we are recovering, and entering the world in a new norm is causing its own anxiety. The one thing that helped us retain our sanity is to continue with our routines in the WFH routine. The designs showcased here will help you continue with your routine whether you work at home or in an office, and ensure you don’t lose that hard-earned muscle tone!

Oliver Perretta’s Kondition was inspired by a piece of furniture that actually resembles a standard workout bench, IKEA’s BEKANT series. Both IKEA’s BEKANT and Perretta’s Kondition have similar personalities as they appear as modest, simple furniture designs whose true essence shines through in their ability to blend into any given room. At first, an unassuming side bench or low-rise table during living room hours, and then, an adjustable home workout with a sliding bench come gym time. Perretta was certain to make bullnose corners for Kondition’s workout station in order to enhance both the piece’s adaptive nature and its approachability in its inherent baby-proof design. Additionally, Perretta plans to utilize aluminum extrusion in any eventual construction process as that would ensure a high strength to weight ratio for more intense workouts. Stamped panels also make for easy and deep cleaning so that job won’t ever feel stressful after a good sweat.

A space-saving work + workout setup designed for your mind & body! It has been one year of WFH and we all have quickly realized the need for furniture that can serve dual purposes and optimize space when we are working at home/living at work. Especially for the urban demographic that lives in compact apartments, it is a challenge to create a home office and also have space left for exercise equipment – another lifestyle change we have adapted to! This innovative desk design uses wall bars at its core with modular attachments that let you use it as your 9-5 set up and then transform it into beast mode. Made in Germany, wall bars offer a particularly wide range of possible variations. In addition to many training options, the combination offers a functional workplace. The desk module is attached in a few seconds, without tools. The height is flexible, so it can be used as a desk or as a high table. After work, the desk module can simply be unhooked and folded in so that it can be stowed behind the wall bars, under the bed, or behind the door. With additions like the slide, the kids can find their movement-compensation on the wall bars even after work. These setups work for the whole family and the wooden finish lets it seamlessly blend with any interior aesthetic.

No drilling or screwing is required to fit the wall bars onto any door in your house – making them the ideal option for rented apartments or hostels. The exercise equipment extends well beyond its wall bar advantage. It can be used for sling training, stretching regimes, or isolated muscle training on the cheap. There are countless options to configure it, so you are never bored of repeating the same exercise. The FatMonkey wall bar also combines with your existing fitness bands, sling trainer, and gymnastic rings for circuit and functional training.

The Tempo Studio is a gym-set that comes complete with a display and a motion-tracking camera that actively scans and monitors your exercise in 3D. With built-in exercise routines that are guided by expert trainers performing live exercise sessions, the Tempo is the equivalent of going on a Zoom video call with your gym trainer. Hop onto a personalized live session with a gym trainer of your choice and the trainer on the other side of the screen guides you through your workout. The Tempo Studio comes built-in with a workout mat as well as all the training gear you’d need, and Tempo’s AI-enabled camera module captures and tracks your body’s movement as you work out, allowing the trainer to remotely know where you’re going wrong.

On the floor, the CLMBR occupies roughly 3×3 feet of space or about as much as two doormats. Most of the CLMBR’s gear is oriented vertically, which allows it to do two things – A. Occupy a fraction of the space of a home-gym yet give you all of it, and B. Use gravity to its advantage to make your workouts more intense and effective. The CLMBR uses resistance training to burn calories. It features a pair of moving handles and steps, a lot like an elliptical, but relies on a vertical sliding channel instead of an elliptical one. A sweatproof HD touchscreen sits just a few inches from your face, giving you an immersive training experience along with CLMBR’s in-built surround sound system. The interface allows you to choose from a variety of exercises across multiple experience levels. Face-to-face sessions with top fitness instructors help you burn those pounds, while the screen even gives you a breakdown of your workout in real-time.

No larger than two shoe-boxes kept end-to-end, the Gym Box by James Wall looks deceptively small for a home gym, however, it transforms into an extensive resistance and box-training kit once opened. Complete with an adjustable bench, a step-up box, a resistance platform, and multiple resistance-bands, the Gym Box can be used in a variety of ways, spanning more than 165 exercises to give you full-body workouts for losing weight, toning up, or building muscle mass. Designed to be two things – Compact and Versatile, the Gym Box allows you to fit all your gym-equipment into something that’s small enough to slide under your bed or into the bottom shelf of your wardrobe. It weighs 28 lbs, and measures not more than 45-inches in length, making it perhaps one of the smallest all-in-one home-gyms. Once it opens up, its parts can be configured into any variety of arrangements, or even used independently. The adjustable bench can be set to a 90° angle, or reclined to a full 180°, with 1¼-inch thick steel tubing to ensure it’s just as robust as the equipment you find in gyms.

Getting a multipurpose fitness machine is a good answer to all your excuses, but unfortunately, after a few months, they are left to bite the dust too. Moreover, they take up too much space and most of them are not that aesthetically pleasing. This 3-in-1 fitness wall by NOHrD christened Wall Compact is an exception, and surprisingly it takes up as little space as imagined – no more than your small couch. The home fitness solution is designed by WaterRower’s (expertise in developing rowing machines for over three decades) sister brand NOHrD that focuses on form and function. Their design ideology is centered on the user and the aesthetic appeal of the fitness equipment while still maintaining the highest standards of strength training backed by science.

Fitwork’s design sort of embodies a no-excuse mentality to being fit. Whether it’s the excuse of ‘being too busy’, or of ‘not wanting to go all the way to the gym’, Fitwork combats it by bringing the gym not just to your house, but to your workspace. Designed as a product to let you work and work out at the same time, this crazy hybrid of a desk-chair and treadmill keeps your legs active while you work. Whether you’re sitting in front of a laptop or standing in front of one, it’s the sedentary lifestyle that Fitwork tackles. The setup (which is sure to grab a few eyeballs) comes with an office chair attached to a treadmill underneath, and an elliptical in front. Coupled with an elevating desk, the Fitwork allows you to keep the lower half of your body active while you work, giving you cardio as well as keeping your spine engaged, whether you’re sitting or standing while working. While you’re sitting, your legs naturally rest on the Fitwork’s elliptical, allowing you to pedal away while typing out emails or attending zoom calls without really anyone knowing what a fitness buff you are. Swivel the chair back and boost your desk upwards and you’ve got yourself a standing workout workspace. Activate the treadmill and you can walk while working… or as I call it, walking the walk while talking the talk.

Liteboxer is the only connected fitness platform currently on the market today that offers full-body boxing workouts equipped with Rhythm Technology and expert training. It’s like Dance Dance Revolution but for your fists. Built and shaped like a traditional treadmill, Liteboxer works once users stand atop the base platform, adjust the punch pad’s height as needed, and connect their personal smartphone or tablet devices to the built-in tablet shelf for engaging expert training. Opting for a more physically digital experience, Liteboxer’s instruction primarily takes place on the punch pad so you won’t spend your workouts looking at yet another screen.

Designed to fit an entire fitness studio experience into your closet, the Otari setup folds down into something that occupies roughly the same space as a folded comforter or duvet. When it’s time to get those muscles working and that sweat running, the mat opens up to a full-length exercising surface and clips directly (you can actually use any existing yoga mat too) to the Otari Studio screen, within which lies the fitness experience’s secret sauce. The Otari Studio’s ultra-widescreen guides you through the exercises as you go, allowing you to access Otari’s extensive catalog of exercises brought to you by its world-class trainers sourced from top studios in NYC (you can even grab a preview of their training sessions on Instagram). The screen plugs into an external power source, comes fitted with 2 high-fidelity speakers, and runs the Otari Studio program, allowing you to work out in tandem with expert fitness instructors as the AI camera captures your routines.

Instead of answering the unanswerable (really, who can say what’s up next for 2020), the team behind G-Wall designed their home gym specifically so that it could be stored behind a closet or armoire cabinet’s door. That way the time that you would have spent making room for your home fitness system, instead is spent actually putting it to use. G-Wall’s Home Fitness System has several standout features: variable modules, user-adjustability, and compatibility, to name a few. Each user decides on which modules they want to comprise the larger system. This means that despite the amount of space in your home, G-Wall’s design makes it possible to incorporate a home gym anywhere. The different modules that users can decide on range from cardiovascular equipment, to free weights and even heavy training. The gear that comes with each module is stored in cabinets or racks that easily hang behind doors or however the user deems appropriate for their personal space.

The Altwork desk claims to be the ultimate in productivity and ergonomics….and I agree, I have never seen a desk so flexible that it is practically a gymnast who also cares about your posture. This desk encourages productivity by molding itself to any position that you feel your best in. I personally love to stand and work but I don’t like being stuck in the same place, I work best when I move around and this desk allows me the freedom to do both! There is a demographic that may have health problems which makes it hard for them to sit at a conventional desk and chair in an office. This causes them to lose out on many job opportunities that they might excel at simply because there wasn’t a solution for “How will they sit in the office?” but, thankfully, technology today has given us the ability to work from anywhere and this desk’s shape-shifting form makes it a part of the inclusive design world which caters to the needs of differently-abled. Productivity and health is a universal right.

Swift Creatives, a Scandinavian design studio located in Aarhus, Denmark, recently debuted Smart Fitness, an integrated smart workout system that equips your home workout with all the gym-related accessories you might need. The team at Swift Creatives got inspired by Nike and designed Smart Fitness for athletes at every level of any given sport to have a single system supplied with five smart workout accessories: a foam roller that doubles as a speaker, weighted jump rope, headphones, and water bottle. Foam rollers are a Godsend and essential for use following a heavy workout. Designed to help relieve muscle tension, increase your joint range of motion, and promote blood flow – foam rolling is an athlete’s bread and butter. Since foam rollers are supposed to be firm for purpose and by design, Swift Creatives took the opportunity to enclose a speaker inside the heavy-duty foam so that music can play while rolling.

Recognizing that most people don’t have the space for gym equipment in their home, or the money for a gym membership, or even the willpower to head to the gym every day, Josh Hume embarked on a journey to bring the gym to the household. The catch? It had to be the smallest, most exhaustive (and exhausting!) gym ever made. After multiple iterations, the FITT Cube was born. With its 450mm edge dimension, the FITT Cube occupies as much space as a footstool and comes with a mini-stepper (with its own seven-segment LCD display), a rotating seat, gripping handles, a plyometric platform, and even resistance bands. The FITT cube also comes with a user guide, exercise chart, and nutrition guide to keep you on top of your fitness game.

Whilst gym equipment may look right at home in… well, a gym, it does clash with the décor of most domestic settings. Seeing as we certainly don’t need another excuse not to exercise, it’s about time we have a more desirable alternative to all that clunky equipment! The solution is FUORIPISTA, a piece of fitness equipment that is undoubtedly an aesthetically pleasing object while meeting our functional demands. FUORIPISTA’s transparent legs achieve a visually light design so it can sit unobtrusively within the room. These legs have been paired with a wooden body that makes up the frame of the bicycle; with the design being treated in a manner that complements the existing furniture within the room instead of standing out and creating disharmony. FUORIPISTA also maintains its functionality and usability; with a tablet mounted on the handlebars to take you to any destination you want to while working out in your living room, you now have no excuse not to exercise at home!

Home gyms that complement your IKEA furniture and ensure you fulfil your fitness goals!

The pandemic has restrained most of us to our homes, and not that we needed any more excuses to bunk the gym, but now we have a legitimate one – there’s literally a virus on the loose! But ignoring our health and fitness is something we simply cannot afford to do anymore. If there’s one thing that COVID-19 has instilled into us, it’s that health really is wealth. And, as much as I love procrastinating, and putting off any form of exercise for as long as I can, I cannot deny the fact that health must be considered a top priority for us all. And, so what if we cannot go to the gym, we can bring the gym to us! This collection of home gyms will not only motivate you and excite you to workout, but will also ensure you stick to your daily exercise routine. No more skipping leg days!

SlimBeam is an elegant, multifunctional home cable machine that offers a wide array of workout options for users and its sleek, wooden body fits into any interior living space. The cable machine comes with an incorporated pull-up bar, weights, accessory adapter, and plenty of different cord options for different weight exercises like tricep extensions or pushdowns. The designers at NOHrD made all of these exercise options available to users because cable machines are intended to target those deeper layer muscles that isolated weight training misses. SlimBeam’s body might be slim and minimal, but no functionality was sacrificed in the making of this cable machine. Standing at just over seven feet tall and 16 inches wide, SlimBeam offers cord extension of up to eight meters, giving users the chance to practice that golf swing or rowing stroke.

With its 450mm edge dimension, the FITT Cube occupies as much space as a footstool, and comes with a mini-stepper (with its own seven-segment LCD display), a rotating seat, gripping handles, a plyometric platform, and even resistance bands. You can tone all the important muscles in your body with this multifaceted fitness machine that comes with its own virtual coach interactive workout program accessed via the touchscreen. You can perform chest, forearm, biceps, triceps, shoulder, and back exercises on the cable stations on each side –while the SwingBells on the wall gives you more freedom of taking up your free weight training sessions.

Designed to adapt to your flexible lifestyle, the NOVA by Paul Francis lets you transform your health and body no matter where you are without needing to go to a gym. The single exercise device is a heavy-duty portable gym that uses high resistance to provide total body strength training at home, office, or on the go. “The NOVA Gym provides up to 40lbs (18kg) of resistance in each hand in all planes of movement, yet only weighs 2.5lbs (1.12Kg) and folds up to go anywhere,” says Paul Francis who created the design and is also an architect, industrial designer, and inventor. The team uses their patented SpiraFlex technology that provides weightless resistance and was actually the first resistive exercise device used in space (NASA iRED) – Francis is truly an inventor because his technology is ‘out of this world’! SpiraFlex feels smooth and linear like free-weights, without the weight or momentum. The stainless steel cables have been coated with nylon to remain durable for long-term use with high resistance.

The Groove was conceptualized around the efficiency of pilates reformers, resistance training, and gymnastics, integrating an entire gym into one piece of furniture. Hannah Fink reimagined working out at home by merging practicality with style. The Groove mounts three cushioned units onto quiet, rubber wheels and connects them with resistance bands, allowing for a catalog of possible exercises: heel raises, bicep curls, leg presses, sliding planks. Pulling on inspiration from pilates and gymnastics, The Groove incorporates the four pillars of fitness: aerobic, strengthening, stretching, and balance. Since most pieces of home gym equipment focus on only one pillar, users might unknowingly neglect other muscle groups, which can lead to an imbalance that contributes to overuse injuries.

The WalkingPad opens up into a full-size treadmill, sans the side rails. Two wheels at the front end allow you to easily roll the folded WalkingPad to and from under your sofa or bed, and setting up the treadmill is as easy as unfolding it open with a single lifting action. Once unfolded, the belt immediately tightens around the treadmill, and on switching it on, a display at the front of the product comes to life. The WalkingPad can be used in two modes. A manual mode allows you to set a pre-determined speed that your feet follow, while an automatic mode allows you to walk fast or slow, while the traction belt below your feet adjusts its speed to your gait. You’ve even got the additional handheld remote that you can use to work the WalkingPad, while a mobile app allows you to keep track of your walk and subsequently your workout… and when you’re done, just fold the WalkingPad and slide it conveniently under your couch! Having a proper, functional home-gym was never this convenient.

This home workout machine merges the ease of minimal design and the functionality of classic gym gear!

Finding the right home fitness station is a lot like the story of Goldilocks. There are home exercise systems that don’t look like they belong in anyone’s home unless you’re the CEO of Equinox – too hard. There are the fitness stations that might sacrifice functionality for aesthetics, looking more like sofas than operative pieces of equipment – too soft. The new SlimBeam from NOHrD is that bowl of porridge – or, home cable station – that’s just right.

Additionally, SlimBeam makes it all possible with its butterfly swivel, which equips the cable machine with dual-side function and adaptive function for changing heights. Fit snug inside the wooden body, fourteen, rubberized weights are available for weight training and can be adjusting to decrease or increase the workout’s intensity. Finally, it wouldn’t be a fitness system for 2020 if it didn’t come with an app. Currently only available for Android, SlimBeam’s app displays the station’s pre-set weight along with the user’s repetition and range of motion and also provides instructional video for different workouts chosen in cooperation with sports scientists.

If you’re anything like me, you’d rather get a good sweat going in your own home than give into a monthly gym membership. Depending on your situation, however, bulky gym equipment and scattered dumbbells just might not comfortably fit into your space. SlimBeam swivels somewhere in the middle, offering everything from pull-ups to drive practice, something Goldilocks would approve. A home gym system that provides, but then, when necessary, can also hide – ah, just right.
