Electric bikes are everywhere, but sticking out like a sore thumb is one way to get noticed. The MOD Easy Electric Cruiser Bike takes this to heart with a sidecar that blends retro style and modern utility. This bike channels the spirit of classic motorcycles while providing practical features that elevate the experience. It’s designed for those who want more than just a ride from A to B; it’s focused on savoring every moment.

Designer: MODBIKES

Overall Aesthetic

This bike has a rugged, vintage charm, with a matte green frame contrasted by black accents. The color scheme appeals to those who like a timeless, outdoorsy look. Large wheels with a sidecar add a distinctive touch, merging modern electric technology with the feel of classic motorcycles.

Its combination of old-school styling and modern tech creates a distinct character. It offers the feel of nostalgia while embracing electric power for effortless rides. The mix of color choices, vintage cues, and functional elements results in a bike that’s visually striking and practical for daily use.

Frame and Geometry

Inspired by cruiser motorcycles, the frame features a thick, curved top tube that adds to its sturdy build. Constructed from high-performance 6061 aluminum, the frame delivers durability, though at the cost of some added weight. The branding is subtle, giving the bike character without overpowering its aesthetic.

The frame’s geometry focuses on stability and comfort, with the curved top tube supporting a relaxed, upright riding position—ideal for managing the sidecar and ensuring a controlled yet comfortable ride. This upright position makes navigating urban environments more enjoyable, as it reduces strain on the rider’s back and shoulders, making it suitable for short commutes and longer adventures.

Sidecar Integration

The sidecar sets this bike apart. It is constructed from durable materials and has a sleek shape and low positioning for stability. It accommodates up to 150 lbs of cargo, including groceries, pets, or children, making it versatile for various uses. The aerodynamic design adds visual appeal, enhancing the bike’s functionality for everyday adventures.

It features a removable padded seat with a seatbelt for secure and comfortable passenger seating. With three quick-release pins, the sidecar can be easily attached or detached, allowing for flexible use depending on your needs. The thoughtful integration ensures comfort for passengers, making routine errands more enjoyable.

Seating and Handlebar

The Selle Royal faux leather saddle features premium gel padding for added comfort and is styled to match the bike’s vintage aesthetic. Its brown color contrasts with the black frame, lending warmth to the overall look. The adjustable aluminum handlebars ensure an ergonomic, upright riding posture, providing stability and ease.

Together, these components make for a comfortable ride—perfect for a leisurely weekend trip or navigating the city streets in style. The saddle’s ample cushioning helps absorb road bumps, while the wide handlebars provide excellent control, especially when accounting for the extra load of the sidecar.

This combination means that even with extended rides, riders stay comfortable and avoid fatigue. Whether riding solo or with the sidecar, the seating and handlebar setup ensures consistent comfort throughout the journey.

Lighting and Accessories

A wide beam LED headlight, with clear and amber lenses, sits prominently at the front, enhancing visibility while reinforcing the retro Cafe Racer look. The bike also includes a rear cargo rack, boosting its practicality by offering space for additional gear.

The headlight is a crucial safety feature, especially at night or in low-light conditions. The rear rack adds practicality, allowing riders to carry essentials like backpacks or groceries.

Reflective accents throughout the bike enhance visibility, adding another layer of safety for nighttime or early morning rides. Accessories like the snap-on rack, adjustable stem, and premium bell maintain the vintage appeal while ensuring the bike remains functional for daily use.

Wheels and Tires

Multi-terrain Kenda Flame 24” x 3.00” tires add to the bike’s versatility, providing excellent stability and shock absorption. They are perfect for various terrains, from city streets to rougher paths, which works well with the added sidecar. The width of these tires ensures the bike remains balanced, even with an additional load.

These robust tires make it easy to switch between different surfaces without compromising comfort or control—a smooth urban commute or a bumpy backroad adventure. The deep tread also provides extra grip, particularly useful when riding in wet conditions or over uneven ground.

The thick tires are key to handling the additional weight of the sidecar, providing a sense of security for the rider. They create a stable foundation crucial for managing passengers and cargo, offering peace of mind on any terrain, from smooth pavement to rough trails.

Electric Components

The bike features a MOD DRIVE 750W geared hub motor (peak 1000W), providing much-needed power for longer rides or carrying extra weight in the sidecar. This electric assist makes steep climbs and extended distances manageable, keeping the ride enjoyable regardless of conditions.

With throttle and torque-assist modes, you can enjoy a classic ride without physical strain, ensuring comfort and convenience. The MOD Samsung Powerpack 48V 15Ah battery is thoughtfully integrated into the frame, maintaining the bike’s clean lines while providing easy access for charging.

The five customizable power modes—Fit, Eco, Cargo, Sport, and Turbo—allow riders to adjust the level of assistance based on terrain, load, or personal preference. This flexibility ensures that the bike remains versatile enough to handle a variety of situations, from relaxed cruises to more demanding rides.

This Shape-shifting 3-in-1 Urban Backpack Is Your Ultimate EDC Carry Companion

I recently watched the first Harry Potter film (following news of Maggie Smith’s demise), and vividly remembered the scene where Harry bought his wand at Ollivanders. Rather than choosing the right wand, Harry was given a wand that ‘chose’ him. It fit his personality, was tailor-made to his greatness, and that moment when the wand and Harry shared a brief exchange of energy – it’s exactly the feeling you get when you discover the right bag. Zero hyperbole, but I’ve got 4 laptop bags in my house right now, ranging across a variety of styles and price points (one of them’s literally from AliExpress)… and neither of them fits my needs perfectly – my current daily driver is a bag that I’d say is 80% perfect.

Finding a bag that ticks all the right boxes is sort of like searching for that ideal wand. It needs to suit your style, be durable, and have enough versatility to keep up with the chaos of life. It’s a relentless pursuit until you stop and discover just the right bag that matches your needs. The folks behind the Mercurius Modular Bag were out to build exactly that bag – a piece of EDC that’s equal parts corporate-classy yet outdoor-durable, with enough modular elements to fit every aspect of your life in. Designed to be carried in 3 different ways, the Mercurius Modular Bag adapts to your style, whether you want a sling, a backpack, or a briefcase, making it your perfect go-to for work, a trip to the cafe for a quick meeting, an outdoor photoshoot, or even a quick getaway for a couple of days to relax.

A Shape-Shifting Bag for Every Moment

What makes the Mercurius Modular Bag stand out at first glance is its ability to switch forms depending on how you want to carry it. This is no one-trick pony—it can be worn as a backpack, slung over the shoulder, or carried like a briefcase. That’s three distinct styles in one, letting you transition from morning commutes to weekend adventures without swapping bags.

When you want to carry it as a backpack, the adjustable shoulder straps come into play. These straps are discreetly tucked away when you’re not using them, keeping the bag’s form neat and streamlined. Once you extend them, the bag sits comfortably on your back, distributing weight evenly to avoid strain. It’s ideal for longer commutes, biking through the city, or when you simply want to be hands-free.

In sling mode, the Mercurius Modular Bag turns into an over-the-shoulder carrier with a single, wide strap that can be adjusted to your height. This mode is perfect for quick access and short walks when you need something more casual than a backpack but not as formal as a briefcase. You can switch to sling mode easily by retracting one of the backpack straps and adjusting the other to act as the crossbody support.

For the briefcase style, simply retract all the straps and use the sturdy, built-in handles located at the top of the bag. This mode is where the bag really takes on a polished, professional look, perfect for meetings or more formal settings. Even though it’s technically the same bag, this transformation gives off a completely different vibe—like you’re carrying a high-end briefcase designed for business, not an everyday commuter’s backpack. The smooth transition between these modes makes it feel like you’re carrying three different bags in one, without the hassle of switching between them.

The Modular Magic Inside

The modular outer design extends to the insides too, with an insightfully compartmentalized layout. The designers have turned the interior into an organized dream, tailored for modern professionals and tech enthusiasts. You’ll find dedicated compartments for just about everything, from chargers to mice, phones, umbrellas, bottles, and even your AirPods. As far as laptops go (you know, the actual goods), this bag fits almost any model you can think of, from ultra-slim MacBook Airs to the large-and-in-charge LG Gram 17-inch. All iPad models slot in just as neatly (as do other tablets), so no matter your tech of choice, this bag has a place for it.

The Mercurius Modular Bag comes in classic black as well.

You can either slide your laptop right into the Mercurius Modular Bag’s dedicated laptop slot, or use an accompanying detachable laptop sleeve made from the same material as the bag itself, but with a built-in RFID-blocking liner for added digital protection. However, the sleeve isn’t just for protecting your laptop or giving it an extra carrying case—it also transforms into a desk pad or mouse pad. It’s a nifty addition for digital nomads or anyone setting up an impromptu workspace at a café or airport lounge. It’s thoughtful features like these that give the Mercurius Modular Bag its edge. The focus is clearly on adaptability—how the bag functions in real life when you’re constantly on the move.

Need more space? No problem. The bag’s expandable design gives you up to 40% more storage capacity, practically doubling your storage capacity. This extra space doesn’t come at the cost of the bag’s sleek profile, though. Even fully expanded, it maintains its minimal design, refusing to bulk up into an eyesore like other expandable bags tend to. Inside, it’s designed to work with modular packs, pouches, and travel cubes—making organization feel less like an afterthought and more like a core feature.

Tailored Extras for the Modern User

It’s the little things that push the Mercurius Modular Bag into the realm of “I need this.” While the bag itself has a built-in organization system, what gives it further meaning are the various pouches and travel cubes that fit perfectly into the remaining empty space, allowing you to carry your gear like never before. Aside from the detachable laptop sleeve, the Mercurius Modular Bag comes with an EDC pouch that has a magnet-based system that lets it snap onto the bag sort of like how a MagSafe accessory snaps onto your iPhone, aligning and positioning itself perfectly. The EDC Bag is ideal for any everyday carry, although Mercurius Modular Bag also comes with a Tech Pouch for tech accessories and a Bath Pouch for toiletries. All three modules fit perfectly into the backpack’s empty space, allowing you to compartmentalize your belongings in a meaningful way (after all you wouldn’t want your toothpaste and shampoo near your tech gear, right?) Furthermore, the Mercurius Modular Bag also provides a square-shaped Packing Cube for clothes that can be used with the bag, along with the Bath Pouch. In a way, you get to build your bags based on whether you’re heading out for a meeting, for something specific like an outdoor photoshoot, or a 2-day getaway.

Other clever details include things like a luggage pass-through feature, which is a godsend for frequent travelers. Simply slip it over your suitcase handle, and maneuvering through airports becomes a breeze. If you want to travel light, you can ditch the Mercurius entirely and just carry the laptop sleeve around with you, thanks to an add-on strap that turns it into a side-sling. The EDC Pouch can be independently carried like a man-purse too, thanks to that same clip-on shoulder strap.

Made from Cactus Leather, Built to Withstand Anything

The Mercurius Modular Bag doesn’t stop at smart functionality; it’s also eco-conscious. Instead of opting for typical leather or synthetic fabrics, Mercurius chose a cactus-based faux leather—an unexpected, yet refreshing choice. This material is as tough as it is sustainable. It’s water-resistant, durable, and designed to hold up to everyday wear and tear, whether you’re navigating city streets or dealing with a bit of rain. The combination of their unique design and cactus leather also gives the bag a luxe feel, so you won’t feel like you’re sacrificing style for sustainability. In fact, brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Porsche all use the same cactus-based leather alternative, embracing both durability along with material innovation. Meanwhile, the company does plan to offer a Smooth Calf Leather version of the bag to backers and users in the future. Alongside the durable outer material, heavy-duty zippers reinforce the design, ensuring the bag holds up under pressure, and a non-toxic suede inner further ensures your devices stay protected from elements as well as rough use. Furthermore, the cubes and modules are made from 100% recycled plastic fabric (the same fabric used by Prada in their high-end bags) echoing the sustainable approach.

The Mercurius Modular Bag is one of many I’ve seen over the years, but the one thing it does more than any of those bags is give me that ‘Harry Potter’s Wand’ feeling – it’s sustainable, durable, expandable, modular, stylish, and is designed to carry literally every object you’d want to carry. It comes in two rather evergreen colors – a tanned brown and a black; and can be carried in a variety of ways – as a sling, a backpack, a briefcase, or even strapped to your luggage. If that isn’t your definition of a perfectly designed bag, I don’t know what is…

Nintendo SWEEP cordless vacuum cleaner gamifies your laborious household cleaning tasks

To gamify everyday use products and services is the mantra for success as it encourages engagement and appeal. For me, household cleaning tasks are the most boring and I can procrastinate for eternity. This concept design gives me reason enough to engage in daily house cleaning chores because of the gamified element.

Meet the Nintendo SWEEP, a cordless vacuum cleaner that brings two polar opposite worlds into a product anyone will notice. The concept appliance inherits the Nintendo’s brand identity of “fun to play,” turning it into a fun experience.

Designer: Jinho Choi

At the core, Nintendo is all about play and adventure – the Nintendo SWEEP retains that element with a design that is retro-modern. It has the reminiscences of old appliance charm in faded grays and rust-color transparencies. The appliance turns any cleaning task into a fun game interface on the accompanying Nintendo Gameboy touchscreen. You can control the vacuum cleaner with a joystick to adjust the functional elements including suction power adjustment, and amount of power delivery via the pull and push operations. In the virtual world, it controls the game content which can be anything from an endless runner adventure or a racing buggy fighting for the lead on a race track.

While the overall design of the cordless vacuum cleaner is based on the Gameboy, the headbrush design is inspired by the Super Famicom. In particular, the pack insert takes the shape of the front portion. The joystick controls and the accompanying buttons let you control everything from the movement to remapping the cleaning area or checking the uncleaned spots in the minimap. Various items can be collected as you go along cleaning which enhances the overall experience. While Nintendo is probably never going to release a vacuum cleaner like this one, perhaps a startup can cash in on this idea!

Globe-Trotter’s James Bond carry-on trolley suitcase is tribute to 60 years of the Goldfinger

Goldfinger will rekindle so many memories in numerous 007 fans. The cars, the music, and the one-liners of this first Bond blockbuster, and perhaps to date, the most revered James Bond movie, live on with us since the 1964 film was released. Now, to mark its 60th anniversary, Globe-Trotter has made a limited-edition suitcase collection that all bond fans would want to lay their hands on, if their budget permits that is!

The James Bond Carry-On Trolley Case is inspired by the gadget-packed Silver Birch Aston Martin DB5 and the grey and white glen check three-piece suit in which Bond drove the DB5. The modern luggage with hints of the iconic past will be released in an exclusive limited edition of 60 examples only.

Designer: Globe-Trotter

Globe-Trotter is a team of highly skilled artisans based in Herefordshire, England. Reckoned for their handcrafted suitcases and travel accessories, their ways of manufacturing and machinery date back to the Victorian era, a glimpse of which is apparent also in the Goldfinger 60th Anniversary Numbered Edition Carry-On Trolley.

Globe-Trotter has made the suitcase worthy of James Bond from vulcanized fiberboard panels, a material first invented in the 1850s, with properties stronger than leather and as light as aluminum. Replicating the DB5’s Silver Birch finish from the iconic movie, the suitcase, on four wheels, has a gloss metallic silver exterior accentuated by black leather trims for the straps and on the corners. Reportedly, the leather corners are molded on Victorian press machines over five days for their form and strength.

Things are equally engrossing and detailed on the inside where the fabric lining is digitally imposed with Bond’s three-piece glen check suit. The co-branded leather patch is engraved with ‘Goldfinger Sixty Years’ and the Globe Trotter logo with the individual number of each case. The branding also carries on multiple places on the exterior.

The James Bond Carry-On Trolley suitcase weighs 4.2kg and measures H55cm, W40cm, D21cm. Owing to the size and character, this can be your ideal partner on flights if you have £3,895 GBP (approximately $5,000) to shell for the cabin bag. Available to pre-order, the cases will begin shipping in mid-late October with a choice of three license plate charms on James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 in the UK, France and Switzerland.

Thus, it is imperative to invest in a toothbrush sanitizer to maintain oral hygiene as well as prevent any unwanted health hazards. Monsoons can be a hindrance in this motive due to unwanted buildups, and excess humidity which can be breeding ground for pathogens in the brush’s bristles. The Ultimate Tactical EDC Upgrade: Tekto’s A2 Badger OTF Knife Packs a Punch

Named after the world’s most fearless animal, the Honey Badger, the A2 Badger from Tekto has quite a reputation to live up to… and let’s be honest, it does. It’s tiny yet ridiculously capable, with a 1.85-inch OTF blade on the front that deploys as soon as you hit the switch on the handle, and a glass-breaker on the end that makes the A2 Badger a formidable EDC literally from head to toe!

OTF knives are a little different from your standard folding blades; they’re spring-loaded switchblades that shoot straight out from the front of the handle. It’s a thrill to watch and even better when you realize just how functional that quick deployment can be. Whether you’re a tactical aficionado or just someone who appreciates a well-designed knife, the A2 Badger could be your new favorite.

Designer: Tekto

Click Here to Buy Now: $118.99 $139.99 (15% off, use coupon code “A2YANKO”). Hurry, deal ends in 48-hours! Also, get free FedEx 2 day shipping.

At first glance, you wouldn’t expect much from a knife that measures just 5.26 inches when open. But don’t let the size fool you. The A2 Badger packs a 1.85-inch tanto-style blade made from titanium-coated D2 steel. This isn’t your average pocket knife. The tanto blade’s angular tip is engineered for strength, perfect for piercing tasks or cutting through tough materials. And because it’s coated in titanium, the blade offers added durability and resistance to wear and tear. It’s the kind of material you want on your side when you’re deep into an outdoor adventure or facing a split-second emergency.

The A2 Badger button boasts an exceptional grip, ensuring maximum grip and control in any situation.

With its compact and lightweight design, the A2 Badger is both easy to store and transport, making it a popular choice among outdoor enthusiasts and those with limited space.

Featuring an oversized lanyard hole, this knife design accommodates a wider range of attachment options, including larger cords and paracords.

The A2 Badger doesn’t just stop at being sharp; it’s thoughtful in its design, too. The oversized lanyard hole is a small detail, but one that makes a big difference. You can easily thread larger cords or paracords through it, making the knife more accessible when you’re in challenging environments. Speaking of environments, the 6061 aluminum handle is lightweight yet durable, designed to withstand the kind of rugged conditions that would send a lesser knife packing. Plus, there’s a button lock mechanism in place that ensures the blade stays secure, whether you’re opening or closing it, so you can count on the knife when it matters most.

But what makes the A2 Badger stand out isn’t just its functionality—it’s how easily it fits into your life. At a featherlight 2.18 ounces and just 3.3 inches small when closed, this is Tekto’s smallest OTF knife (even tinier than their A5 Spry Mini). Yet, its size is deceptive; this little tool is nimble, quick to deploy, and engineered for ambidextrous use. A pocket clip can be attached on either side of the handle, making it perfect for left or right-handed users. Plus, at the end of the handle is a glass-breaker tip that can be used to shatter through even laminated and reinforced glass panels – perfect for an emergency escape (especially when paired with the D2 blade for cutting through seatbelts). It’s an ideal everyday carry tool, whether you’re heading into the great outdoors, running errands around town, or even protecting yourself in an emergency.

For those who like options, Tekto delivers. The A2 Badger comes in three grip colors—Black, Desert, and OD Green—so you can match it with your style or other gear. Whether you’re a seasoned outdoorsman, a first responder, or just someone who values great design, the A2 Badger proves that sometimes, the best things really do come in small packages.

Roland’s V-Drums Quiet Design keeps minimal noise for people living with the drummer

For parents, probably the last instrument that they would want their kids to take up are the drums since they know they’ll be in for months or even years of ear-splitting noise. But over the years and with the advent of electric drums, there have been quieter options for people who want to practice their craft and not disturb the people they live with.

Designer: Roland

The V-Drums Quiet Design from Roland claims it is “the lowest playing noise in the history of electronic drum kits.” Of course it is not completely silent but it is able to reduce the playing noise levels by 75% compared to their previous V-Drums. Users have the option to play the set with the existing TD-07 control module or to choose another V-Drums module. There are several features that makes this electronic drums kit less noisy.

For one, the system snare and tom pads have a honeycomb rubber insert that is noise-absorbing and on top of it, there is a mesh head and strategically placed vents under the playing surface. The rim of the snare is actually triggered independently from the head and has soft rubber so your rim shots are not jarring for the people around you or near you. The set also has three cymbal pads that have the same materials mentioned above, with the crash and ride ones having independent bow and edge triggering while the hi-hat has a foot pedal to give it ultra-quiet operation. The kick drum has a triple-later cushion with a double-ply mesh in a floating frame set so the vibration and noise transfer is less.

All the features basically confines the sound to the headphones that you’ll wear while playing. The entire kit even has a noise-dampening stand with isolating rubber feet which keeps the sound levels “similar to an average conversation”. This is a gift for both the drummer and the people living with them.

Smart shower system stores hot water to stop wastage

Taking showers with heaters is always a hit and miss for me, sometimes learning my lesson the hard way. There have been several times that a cold blast hit me so I’ve learned to not go under yet and wait for the water to turn hot. However, that also means that we’re wasting a lot of water if that happens every day. Apparently, an average person wastes 4000 liters and 110 kilowatt-hours of energy every year, according to startup Heau.

Designer: Heau

The patented Heau system says they’re the world’s first shower with instant hot water. This way it helps you save on the water that’s wasted as you wait for it to heat up while still enjoying the comfort of hot water instantly as soon as you turn on the shower. Most people wait for around 1 minute after they turn on the shower since that’s when the water becomes comfortably hot. What they came up with is a two-compartment system that is able to store the heat from your previous shower so it’s already hot when you turn on your current shower.

The hot water from the end of a shower is stored in a vacuum chamber and keeps it hot up to three days because of a special insulation. When you take your next shower, the system detects the cold water and sends it to the left compartment which then applies pressure through a flexible membrane. It is sent to the mixing valve so you get your instant hot water. When the water in the pipes is already hot, the system is able to shut off the hot water inlet and can recharge it since it sends the water to the right hand compartment.

The installation of the system is similar to the water storage for hanging toilets and it can work with any type of shower. Heau is still currently in the startup stage but they’re targeting the shower system to be available by 2025.

Design Meets Culture: The Porsche x Almond Surfboard Collection

When Porsche partnered with Almond Surfboards to create a limited-edition surfboard collection, it was an inspired fusion of German engineering and California surf culture. This collaboration merges precision design and a laid-back lifestyle in a collection that balances craftsmanship with bold, iconic aesthetics.

Designers: Porsche + Almond collection

Each board is hand-shaped in Costa Mesa, California, and showcases the iconic Porsche 911 colors from the 1960s: Bahama Yellow, Irish Green, and Polo Red. These bold, classic hues evoke the timeless appeal of Porsche’s storied motorsport past. Additionally, the Pink Pig livery, famously featured on the 917/20 at Le Mans, injects a sense of playful rebellion, bridging a connection between race tracks and ocean waves.

The attention to detail extends beyond color. Each board is meticulously numbered with 63, paying homage to the debut year of the first Porsche 911. These boards are designed for peak performance, crafted to carve through waves with the same finesse that a Porsche car cuts through corners.

Iconic Liveries: A Visual Legacy

Porsche’s racing liveries have left an indelible mark on motorsport culture. The Pink Pig livery, first introduced at Le Mans in 1971, caused a sensation with its butcher-style markings, a nod to fun and boldness in racing design. While it didn’t take first place, the livery remains unforgettable. Porsche’s knack for creating visual identities that speak beyond speed is part of what makes its designs iconic.

Other liveries, such as Gulf Racing and Martini Racing, tell their own stories of endurance and triumph on tracks like Le Mans and the World Endurance Championship. These designs represent Porsche’s relentless pursuit of innovation and excellence, and now, those same livery styles are reflected in the surfboard collection—offering Porsche fans a chance to connect with the brand in an entirely new way.

Numbers That Matter: The Significance of 63

The number 63 carries deep significance for Porsche, symbolizing the birth of the 911 in 1963. This number isn’t merely a historical reference—it reflects Porsche’s enduring philosophy of design and innovation. On the surfboards, the 63 serves as a reminder of Porsche’s legacy and how that spirit has been translated into everything from cars to lifestyle products.

Personally, the number 911 has long been significant in my life. Over a decade ago, I managed to score a mobile phone number that starts with 917 and ends with 911—a perfect numerical tribute to one of Porsche’s most famous models. Every time I give out my number or see it on my business card, it feels like a small but meaningful connection to Porsche’s history.

Crafting the Boards: Surf Meets Precision Engineering

The shaping process of the surfboards in the Porsche x Almond collection mirrors the craftsmanship seen in Porsche’s cars. Each board is shaped from polyurethane foam, reinforced with basswood stringers, and wrapped in fiberglass cloth. The combination of these materials delivers durability, performance, and aesthetic beauty. Just like Porsche’s vehicles, each board is crafted with purpose, delivering on form and function.

Almond’s influence is felt deeply here, as their approach to surfboard crafting draws on the traditions of California surf culture. Known for their hand-shaped boards and commitment to craftsmanship, Almond brings a design ethos rooted in authenticity, simplicity, and a connection to the ocean. This influence transforms the boards into more than sporting equipment—they represent a lifestyle. Almond’s surf culture emphasizes longevity and timeless style, blending seamlessly with Porsche’s commitment to performance and precision.

The hand-foiled fiberglass fins are a nod to Porsche’s engineering precision. Crafted from 36 layers of fiberglass, these fins reflect a focus on fine detail, much like the assembly of a high-performance car engine. The inclusion of custom wooden wall brackets for display reminds us that these surfboards, much like Porsche’s vehicles, are as much art as they are machines for performance.

A Personal Connection: Pikes Peak and Porsche’s Racing Spirit

In 2016, I was fortunate to experience firsthand Porsche’s racing heritage on a drive I’ll never forget. While scaling Pikes Peak in a Macan GTS, wrapped in liveries designed to reflect Porsche’s racing history, I had the surreal honor of seeing my own name emblazoned on the car. This wasn’t just a typical drive—it was a full immersion into Porsche’s racing spirit, taking me from Pikes Peak to Mount Evans, a journey that pushed the Macan GTS and my own driving skills to their limits.

The livery on the Macan GTS was designed to reflect Porsche’s legacy at Pikes Peak. It’s a vivid reminder of how Porsche integrates its heritage into every aspect of its modern vehicles, creating a sense of continuity between the brand’s past, present, and future. Porsche’s emphasis on precision, balance, and driver engagement could be felt in every twist and turn of the climb.

Surfboards as Lifestyle: Porsche’s Expanding Design Language

What makes the Porsche x Almond surfboards special is how they expand Porsche’s design language beyond the road. These boards are an extension of Porsche’s identity. The Bahama Yellow, Irish Green, and Polo Red colors signify past 911 models and represent Porsche’s ability to merge motorsport heritage with contemporary design aesthetics.

Almond’s surf culture influences the design of these boards by bringing a sense of authenticity, simplicity, and connection to nature. The boards are shaped by hand, emphasizing craftsmanship, just as Porsche’s vehicles are assembled with precision. This collaboration showcases how Porsche’s design philosophy can transcend its automotive roots and enter new realms, like surfing, while staying true to the brand’s core values.

Porsche’s visual identity has always been about creating a lasting impression, from racing stripes to the Pink Pig motif. The Porsche x Almond collection is the next step in that journey, extending the brand’s influence from the race track to the waves of California.
