We feel the two will continue to work on more designs until they get into production, just like their project with UV-C Labs.

Allin is an inclusive, barrier-free mouse that was designed to be ergonomic specifically catering to the needs of amputees and those who struggle to use computer mouses.

Most of us are working on our laptops or desktops for the entire workday, but not without consequence. From our eyes to our wrists, from our posture to our bums, we go through physical strain every day just by sitting at our desks and staring at our computer screens while endlessly typing.

Providing their own solution to one part of this daily struggle, Designer Dot conceptualized Allin, an ergonomic mouse designed specifically for amputees and others who have trouble operating desktop and laptop mouses.

Constructed with a curved design, Allin features a soft impression where users can place their wrists to access the mouse’s control functions. Replacing the right and left click buttons with right and left tilt buttons, users simply lean their wrists to one side or the other to click links on their computer screens.

The mouse tilt buttons are positioned at different angles to ensure that the intended button is clicked. The left tilt button clicks at approximately 45 degrees while the right tilt button can be clicked at 20 degrees. Wireless by design, Allin comes with an accompanying magnetic charger that provides the mouse with enough charge to last through the workday.

Primarily designed for amputees and for those who struggle to use computer desktop and laptop mouses, Allin is ergonomically designed to fit every human’s natural wrist movement. Allin is a supplemental computer accessory that can be partnered with any laptop or desktop computer to ease the physical strain that comes with working at a keyboard all day.

The internet is abuzz with news of Elon Musk’s humanoid robot – and this creation is especially grabbing eyeballs since we have seen this engineer deliver designs that were till now, something, most did not see as feasible.

Thirty-nine years ago, the feasibility of emotionally capable artificial intelligence taking over the world was virtually nonexistent, but today the dystopian future predicted in Blade Runner feels like a not-so-distant inevitability. The movie, however, remains a timeless classic, that continues to inspire generations just like it did with designer Jonas Ceppa who created the BR.CON03 concept mouse.

The mouse includes beautiful detailing/textured patterns reminiscent of the bad-ass cars we have adored in the Blade Runner series. The mouse typically shows off a clack and white aesthetic that also bring to mind a Star Wars-esque vibe. The mouse also pop-up with each part of the body, providing a visual as well as a tactical difference from the usually sleek mouse designs we see.

Add to this the orange highlights and we have a mouse that is quirky yet functional and the vent-inspired clickable buttons make this a must have for fans everywhere!

The humble mouse is often overlooked especially when it comes to innovating or upgrading them. Most of us are used to the same old conventional mouse designs, and we’re pretty content with them as well. They do their job, and we’re happy. However, nowadays designers have been extending creativity and innovation to mouses, especially regarding their visuals, aesthetics, and design! The results are pretty impressive – from a Cybertruck-inspired bulletproof mouse to an ergonomic joystick-shaped mouse! This collection of mouse designs is as unique as they come. These well-designed products will make you cast aside your boring old mouse, and pick one of these instantly!

The Ice Mouse comes with a bamboo upper that promotes breathability, making sure your palms don’t work up a sweat with hours of use. The bamboo component is CNC machined from a layered block of bamboo plies, doing a pretty remarkable job of showcasing the wood-grain while remaining entirely unique in its grain pattern. Some may say it almost reflects the uniqueness of the fingers and palm that rest on it! Sitting underneath it is the aluminum base, giving your fingers a metallic surface to hug and sort of complementing the feeling of typing on an aluminum-constructed MacBook.

Satechi portrays the Cybermouse as a super tough mouse for professionals and people who are hooked onto their screens all day long. It doesn’t stop at that, the mouse comes with solar and wireless charging making it a next-generation accessory – ready to top the charts selling like hotcakes. The next level 20,000 dpi speed ensures it is suitable for gaming or editing tasks – making it perfect for any user type. Oh yes, and if I just forgot to mention, you’re not alone if you see a stark resemblance to the Tesla Cybertruck – even the color seems to be inspired by the upcoming beastly EV. Yes, the name also gets the ‘Cyber’ alright, so nothing stops me from reimagining this as the Cybertruck of the mouse world.

Gihawoo’s Ergonomic Mouse looks like a joystick at first, until you realize that it’s meant to be held at its base like a thick marker instead of at the tip (where one would normally hold a joystick). It sports neat curved surfaces for your hand to rest on, with left and right-click buttons both resting under your index finger in a manner that may require a bit of getting used to. To left-click, simply press the upper button, and to right-click, move your finger slightly lower to hit the lower button. The scroll wheel finds its place naturally under the middle finger, which means you can scroll and click together without shifting fingers around. Ultimately, the design comes with a grippy rubberized surface around its sides, boosting dexterity, and even though the mouse isn’t ambidextrous, one can easily manufacture left-handed variants for people who require it.

Ju rightly christened this mouse design as “Ambi” – a mouse for ambidextrous, or more importantly for left-handed individuals. This peripheral in peppy orange and subtle black color grabs your attention instantly – not to mention its cool looks. Having an accordion-like design gives this mouse the flexibility to orient into any desired ergonomic shape for right or left-handed use. This is a big advantage as most right-hand-oriented mouse are virtually a nemesis to work with for a productive work regime. The aesthetic gives the mouse height adjustment flexibility as well – which one misses in conventional mouse designs at times.

Taking a detour from the usual elongated form that follows the natural curve of the hand (mostly right-handed aesthetics), the Ball Mouse by Osay Imarhiagbe has a spherical design for comfort while using for long hours. It’s more or less like a round ball (as the name suggests) that should be the aptest for people who like to clench at their mouse and have more of a hawk-like grip on the mouse. The elevated position means that the pressure on hand is relieved especially while working on a desk. Going with the circular theme the bumper is also contoured and the symmetrical design means it is equally good for both left and right-handed people.

MAUS is a conceptual computer mouse designed to resolve the shortcomings of its predecessors by diving deeper into the study of the human hand. Using a non-ergonomic mouse, the design team mapped out all the pain points felt on the hand. The process then involved clay modeling to understand how MAUS’ shape and angle would feel with wrist movements and grip. Prototypes were then 3D printed with the final form that ensured the hand stays in a position of rest even when using the mouse. An interesting functionality to cure repetitive strain syndrome was making all controls gesture-based. MAUS also features a digital display – something we haven’t seen in any mice! The body also features Alacantara fabric for a soft touch and comfortable light grip. It has a soft felt base as well as a rubber grip for smooth motions.

I could really use a Ctrl + Z button in real life, but this mouse gives me the next best thing. Meet the ‘Oops’ mouse, a gadget that respects our human side by encouraging us to undo our mistakes as we learn from them. The conceptual mouse ditches the physical scroll wheel and puts in its place a neat Oops button that activates the Ctrl + Z shortcut when pressed. Designed to sort of humanize the user/computer relationship, the Oops button allows you to make mistakes and swiftly undo them too, whether it’s clicking on a wrong link, accidentally deleting a file, or making a typo in your mail or presentation. To err is human. To forgive is, well, machine!

Enter the T001. This touch-screen mouse negates the need for a flat surface to direct the cursor. You could literally hold the mouse in your lap and move the cursor by tracing your finger across the glass. Additionally, the mouse’s flat, sleek shape fits into your pocket like a phone, just like a phone. The idea of a purely touch-screen mouse is intriguing, as it deviates from the standard design. Functionally and aesthetically, the T001 resembles a tablet or phone more than a computer mouse. The result is a clean interface – with a bright, eye-catching gradient for the background. This visual, reminiscent of a phone’s background screen, reinforces the connection between the T001 mouse and the touch-screen devices that inspired its creation.

Meet the Mouse-1, a wireless gaming mouse that is futuristic yet hipster in one neat minimal package. The Mouse-1 was designed as an answer to the gamut of RGB-enabled gaming mouse designs that have flooded the market. After all, who says that minimalistic design cannot be badass! The designer, Jake Lee, was inspired by his love of sci-fi games as well as Air Jordans while designing this piece. As Jake explains, “The goal was to design a mouse that carries the gaming DNA in a more subtle and minimalist manner. There are so many gaming mice that scream rainbow RGB lighting with complex programmable buttons that contribute to their maximalist appearance. Mouse-1’s aesthetics is intentionally aimed at those who pursue a minimalist gaming setup.”

Designed as an upgrade to the 10-year old Ergo M570, the Logitech Ergo M575 is a small, feature-loaded, ergonomically designed mouse that’s made to go places… without going anywhere. Located right under the thumb is a large trackball that lets you control the cursor without moving your mouse around. This gives you the same level of precision without all that hand and wrist movement – a feature that doesn’t just save you energy, it gives you extra desk-space too, because you don’t need to move your mouse around everywhere.

There’s no other ship in the history of science fiction that has a bigger following than the Millennium Falcon. Now we don’t have the luxury of laying our hands on it as Solo did by tricking Lando Calrissian in a card game, we have the luck to get our hands on Mouse-1, our sidekick as we step into the gaming realm with this LED enabled accessory on our side.

The devil is in the details and that adage remains for Mouse-1. The speckled white and black texture creates an interesting base on which the entire structure is based. White lights adorn 2 sides of the mouse, the back as well as the scroll wheel. But the real beauty is in the gradation of the lights. This was achieved by a translucent polycarbonate rear bumper that diffuses this halftone patterned LED light. If white is not your color, the light can be customized with various third-party lighting apps.

Apple’s iMac launch with its 7 color options has shaken up the tech world, and as the trendsetters, we know this pattern will be taken up by more retailers. Nonetheless, a classic piece like the Mouse-1 will never go out of style. Best of all, they have a black version that is perfect for a dark room setup – that’s more like mine!

This accessory for sure is a bit different from the ones that we’ve seen so far, and the compact form factor is another advantage in its favor.

Yes, we all have notes on our phones but has that phased out the use of paper and pen at our work desks? Nope, in fact, most people still prefer to write down their to-do lists because checking it off is gratifying. As a reflex, we always tend to frantically search for a notepad to jot down a number, address, meeting feedback, last-minute lists, or notes during a class. To integrate this existing behavior with the technology we already use, designer Jeong Woo Kim created Ouverture – a conceptual keyboard accessory that is a number pad + a digital notepad when you flip the cover. It has a typing mode which is the number pad and a memo mode which is the writing pad. “The leather cover acts as a number pad on a conventional keyboard. Current from the fingertips passes through the special conductive fiber to the touchpad inside the leather cover,” explains Kim.

A quick survey showed that 98% of people take notes when they are working on computers and 70% of them said it is uncomfortable and 34% complained that their desk tends to get messy or notes tend to get lost. With a device like Ouverture, your notes are saved as image files and your desk remains clutter-free. But it would be interesting if technology also lets you convert it into text for easier transfer of information. Another important point to consider if this goes into production is to make sure it is modular so that the left-handed demographic can also be included – we all deserve to have a chance at being more efficient! Ouverture comes with a magnetic pen on the side so that you don’t need to look for pen or paper anymore – it retains the tactile experience and incorporates it with our digital lifestyle without us having to learn any new behaviors. Now that we work from home I feel like we are more aware of how quickly our workspaces can become cluttered. Not just with snacks and numerous mugs of coffee but also with the tech accessories! I personally find myself using a lot more cables and peripheral accessories and that is bound to happen because I am not in an office set up and still trying to keep everything functioning smoothly in the available space I have for working and living. Modular keyboards like this were specifically designed to address this very issue and Link is the latest concept design aimed at giving the user a clutter-free computer accessory ecosystem.

Having a visually harmonious, intuitive, and efficient set of tech accessories allows the user to keep all devices and peripherals charged and in sync at all times – its the same calm you experience when you start your day on a clean, organized desk! Link is a collection of essential computer accessories that are integrated to work together to optimize functionality for the user right from wireless charging devices to compact input devices. “The goal of this project was to design an ecosystem of peripherals that aims to deliver an experience that is customizable, easy to use, and adaptable to the computer users’ needs at a moment’s notice,” says the designer. So no more scampering around for a certain jack if you have to plug in a non-Apple device or having a network of cables that just take up more space + energy!

The designer felt the need to create a truly effortless, delightful, and seamless user experience that went beyond beautiful aesthetics. Link is a one-stop-shop to keep devices charged, synced, and ‘linked’ together with as minimal cables and inconveniences as possible. The keyboard is a constant at everyone’s desk and therefore the peripheral devices were formed to work around it like modular accessories. The set includes the keyboard along with ’tiles’ which are the peripheral accessories. These tiles include a drawing tablet, wireless charging pads, a touchpad, a number pad, and a dial which is the most interesting of them all. “Pan around. Zoom. Select. Click. Clack. Rotate. The Dial instantly becomes your favorite digital input tool,” says the designer about including the playful accessory. All modules are battery operated and magnetically connect to the side of the keyboard to dock and recharge when low on charge before being reused again. It also comes equipped with NFC, Bluetooth, and wireless charging capabilities to make it the ultimate unifying hub. Less is more, and less is specifically one cable.
