‘Yakuza 7’ gameplay trailer reveals wacky features and job classes

We knew that Yakuza 7, or Yakuza: Like a Dragon, was going to shakeup gameplay with turn-based combat. Thanks to a trailer released at Tokyo Game Show, we have a better idea of what that will look like. The gameplay preview shows the new combat style...

Dad Builds Working Mars Rover for His Son

I know that plenty of parents would like to send their kids to Mars, and if you’re gonna do that, do it right. Build them a rover to ride around in. Hell, just build them one to ride around on Earth. That’s what cool dads do. And Kris Temmerman is a cool dad.

I know this, because he built this awesome Mars rover for his son. The Rover steered via a wired controller by Kris as he walks close by, and has six articulated wheels, each with its own motor drive for tackling uneven terrain. To be honest it looks like a really fun off-road vehicle. I wouldn’t mind riding around in this thing if we could up the size, speed, and give it some Bigfoot ties and a killer paint job. You can check out videos of this thing in action, and the build process below:

I bet this is what it looks like as the real deal is tooling around on Mars, except there’s a small alien riding it instead of a child; probably doing donuts and stuff, kicking up red dust. But you’ll never see that because our government doesn’t want us to know. But I do, and I will not be silenced.

This Jeep Pedal Kart Offers Off-roading Fun for Rich Kids

This is a far cry from the pedal cars you grew up with. This Jeep-branded pedal car is perfect for off-roading kids who want a thrill. The Jeep Revolution BFR-3 pedal go-kart has three gears, plus reverse, a swing axle to keep it stable on rough terrain, and over-sized air-filled tires including a spare.

If you are on the road, the BFR-3’s gearshift to the right of its seat lets you squeeze as much speed from your pedaling as possible, just like on a bike. But when the terrain gets rough, you can switch gears so that it’s easier to pedal while off-road. Pretty sweet! It can be pedaled in reverse, making it easier to get out jams.

You can even add options like a roll bar, a passenger seat that can be strapped to the back, and even a spare tire. It sells for about $950(USD) so have fun rich brats!

McLaren P1 Gets All-Electric Version (for Kids)

McLaren recently announced that they are developing a pure electric vehicle. To celebrate, the company is releasing a primer EV: a McLaren P1 Ride-On for kids age 3 to 6.

This kid-sized version of the hybrid supercar even comes with the original’s scissor (aka billionaire) doors, so your kid can impress all the other kids on the playground. It has a real McLaren badge, so everyone will know that this is the real deal. The car will reach cruising speeds of up to 3mph and can accelerate to that max speed in two seconds. Sweet!

A single button controls both start and stop functions. It comes in volcano yellow and is priced at £375 (~$575 USD). If you are a rich kid, have your butler, maid or nanny run out and get one for you today.

Jet-Powered Go-Kart: A Beautiful, But Dumb Way to Die

I think that any Spartan soldiers looking for a beautiful death would gladly strap into this homemade jet-powered go-kart. They would undoubtedly need a way to attach a shield and spear to it.

Power comes from a customized Boeing gas turbine turbojet engine that pushes out 300 pounds of thrust. I bet this thing almost literally flies. I sort of want to ride it, but I worry about tanks of flammable fuel sitting on each side of my wedding tackle. And there’s no Recaro seat or five-point harness here – the seat belt looks like one of those little Velcro jobs your kid uses on their Barbie Power Wheels Jeep.

I’m afraid of this kart, but I really want to ride it at the same time. It can be yours to terrorize the neighborhood with for $10,500 via the Middletown, Maryland edition of Craigslist.

Razor Is Making a Real Life Mario Kart with the Crazy Cart XL

Mario Kart is awesome, but it just makes you wish you had a real life version to zip around in and throw banana peels and turtle shells. Well Razor is making a real life version. The Razor Cray Cart XL is a follow-up to a smaller version they made for kids a while back. This one is much cooler.

This one is for the adults who want some real life Mario Kart fun. It will accommodate a 6’3″ 250-pound rider and has even been tested up to 300 pounds. I wouldn’t push it too far past that limit though, for all you Comic Book Guy types out there.

See it in action in the video here. It looks super fun.

The Crazy Cart XL will retail for $800 when it goes on sale in December and will make one heck of a Christmas present.

This sweet kart is due out later this year. It looks pretty awesome. Plus it also makes several power-up/weapon sound effects. Cool. Bring plenty of bananas and turtle shells. It’s gonna be a wild ride.

Hopefully you can fit your big butt on this, because it is targeted primarily at kids after all. Leaner adults should have no problem taking it for a spin though.

These guys really should get together with the guys at Razor though:

LEGO Go-Kart 2: Those Daring Young MOCs in Their Jaunty Jalopies

Simon Burfield should get in touch with Eric Steenstra so they can have a LEGO go-kart race. Burfield used 16 Power Functions XL motors, 8 Power Functions battery packs and 20 Exo-Force wheels to make his life-size go-kart.

It looks less sturdy than Steenstra’s bulky build, but it can carry an adult, as you’ll see in the video below.

I wonder what its top speed is. It probably has, like, 350 MyLittlePonyPower.
