Lava Box is a portable stove concept for your next outdoor trip

When you’re going outdoors either for camping, a beach trip, a hike up the mountain, or anywhere that will not have electricity or a nearby restaurant, a stove or any kind of cooking device would be a useful thing to bring with you. Of course, it would have to be something portable unless you want to drag your home stove with you in the great outdoors. When it comes to portable stoves or grills, there are several available in the market. Well-designed ones are of course always welcome to the table.

The Lava Box is a concept for a portable stove that looks minimalist, classy, and not at all like the usual that you see being carried around in campsites and beaches. In fact, you might think it’s a vinyl player or a projector or a luxury box. They’re actually some of the design inspirations for this stove or rather the moodboard used in coming up with the final look. What you get is a box with a cover and when you open it, that’s where the stove shows itself.

It’s a single burner with a refillable butane gas container fitting right under it. There’s a wooden know on the right that lets you adjust the flame level for things like when you’re heating water, frying something, or grilling pieces of meat. There are also wooden handles on the side for when you need to move the stove when it’s in use or has recently been used and you don’t want to burn your fingers. The stove seems to be made from metal while the handles and cover are wooden.

From the product renders, you can see options for a black or white Lava Box with both having the wooden cover, handles, and knobs. It does look classy and small enough to carry with you on your outdoor trip. Hopefully, it works well enough to provide you with sustenance whether you’re swimming or camping or hiking.

Compact, portable gas stove eliminates wire mesh, making it easy to clean after camping outdoors!

Camping is a great activity to venture out from your comfort zone into an environment that’s different. If your next awesome expedition is leading you to colder locations, it’s befitting to pack a portable gas stove along so the effect of temperature variation is minimized and you’re cozy irrespective of the weather outside the tent. Camping heater is a tried and tested domain where a range of manufactures have conceptualized their own variations. Once dependent on wood-fired stoves, the industry has evolved into portable gas stoves, yet design progress remains attainable.

A gas stove designed with motifs of a cart has been conceptualized by a Seoul-based designer to that accord. Dubbed “HAUL”, the minimalist gas stove is perceived in an inviting color combination, has a brilliant overall design, which relies on the convenience of portability and eliminates the metal mesh from the heating surface. The highlight of the HAUL, as the designer mentions is its neat design. The stove is redesigned sans “protruding wire mesh,” which is a disadvantage with conventional gas stoves. In addition, the compact heater is designed to be lightweight and has an integrated stable stand and a carry handle. The interesting red and white gas stove has a rotating knob on the top for temperature control and ignites the stove or turns it off when not required.

The gas heater comes with a simple clip-in gas canister that goes into its compartment at the back of the HAUL and is convenient to install and replace. We are not sure of what material the designer intends to deliver the gas stove in, but going by the design we are sure, it will ensure hassle-free installation and deliver instant heat to cozy up your tent or tiny house the moment you get it out of the car boot!

A portable camping stove meets DHL’s design language creating a briefcase sized outdoor must-have!

It’s no secret that camping requires a certain amount of know-how. For instance, knowing how to get fires going, knowing how to pitch a tent and conserve water, how to cook and make your way through a forest unscathed are skills that will help trips to the outdoors feel less stressful and a lot more comfortable. With so many people camping nowadays, designers at PDF Haus have conceptualized a minimal camp grill called Shelf, a portable gas grill with folding shelves and a table.

Developed in the design language of DHL, PDF Haus aimed to give Shelf a simple box silhouette with a freewheeling attitude, taking inspiration from the color scheme, materials and finishes often chosen by DHL for their vehicles and brand aesthetic. The grill even comes with DHL decals and tags that can be adhered to the metallic grill’s front case that turns into its table extension. While most gas stoves come with a separate carrying case, Shelf’s entire grill has been turned into one that can be consolidated and carried away. Shaped and carried like a slim briefcase, two metal clasps open and slide out to reveal the Shelf’s grill and supplementary table space. Just beneath the grill, Shelf includes two retractable shelves that create more space for whoever’s cooking to place their spices, utensils, or tools. Blooming from Shelf’s underside like an awning, the shelves, and the sliding tables nearly double Shelf’s overall area.

Comprising a total thickness of 50mm when laid flat, Shelf’s slim frame allows it to slip easily onto any camp packing list. Reaching 278mm in height and 400mm in width, the compact build of Shelf’s entire grill is only given more weight once propane gas containers are inserted into its underside to activate the grill and get to cooking. Battery operated, Shelf features a battery inlet underneath as well that gives power to the grill’s automatic ignition system.

Designer: Dahae Lee x PDF Haus

Shelf’s simple box frame is reminiscent of DHL’s stripped-down brand aesthetic.

The grill’s shelf awnings remain hidden, folded into Shelf’s underbelly.

Metal clasps unlock to allow Shelf’s table extension to slide and provide further storage options.

A rubber handle allows users to carry Shelf like a slim briefcase.

The grill features an intuitive, recognizable control panel that allows users to adjust temperature and flame settings.

Shelf also comes equipped with space for a detachable drip pan, battery inlet, and a fuel nozzle.

Conceptualized in an array of different colors, Shelf is the perfect camping companion.

Decals and extra tags from DHL can be attached to Shelf’s metallic surface.

Jetboil Stash is 40% lighter than its predecessor + most compact portable cooking stove yet!

Outdoor enthusiasts often find themselves in a packing fix. This is mainly as the excitement of packing your bag for a long weekend in the wilderness is cut short because the cooking stove won’t fit. You’re left with compromising the stove in favor of ready-to-eat items, which you’d have to savor all cold. Thankfully, ingenious companies such as US-based Jetboil are on a mission to skim down the size of portable stoves so the life of adventurous souls can be made slightly more convenient.

After a successful run with some compact cooking stoves, Jetboil has sent ripples down the market with the introduction of Stash, the company’s lightest backpacking stove ever made. Weighing only 7.1oz (approx. 200g), the Jetboil Stash is 40-percent lighter than the previous lightest stove in the company’s repertoire, despite the same use possibilities, better build quality, and cooking performance. With its almost insignificant weight and very compact size – when packed, it measures only 4.4-inch tall and 5.1-inch in diameter – the Stash stove is made specifically to allow backpackers, hikers/trekkers, or any other outdoor enthusiast to boil water or render instant-cook meals to an eatable temperature instantly. Unpack the stove out of the lidded pot, set up the base, screw up the canister and titanium burner, flex out the support arms, place the 800ml capacity FluxRing cook pot on the stand, and wait for 2.5 minutes before your coffee is ready!

What really makes the Jetboil Stash worth every penny of the $130 it demands is not only its featherweight but also its compact form factor. When you’re done cooking – and set to head home – just fold the arms back in, place the burner and stove stabilizing base into the FluxRing cook pot, pinch the bottom of its silicone grip handle that folds over to secure the package, and you’re now good to go. At just 7.1oz and incredibly squashed upsize, the Jetboil Stash is the go-to solution if cooking stove options have been a worry for you in the past. Shed every ounce of weight from the backpack yet travel with the satisfaction of never having to eat cold food again!

Wood-fired portable outdoor oven with a rotating base + stove is every pizza lover’s dream!

Woodfire pizza’s not just for the pizzaiolo (that’s pizza maker in Italian) anymore and it’s a good thing because the frozen pizza I’ve been eating in quarantine just doesn’t quite hit the spot like Nonno’s homemade pizza. We’ve got QubeStove to thank for both designing and producing their latest portable, 2-in-1 rotating pizza oven, and stove. There’s a lot to cover, so be sure to save some room for s’mores.

QubeStove’s new rotating pizza oven dons a heavy gauge stainless steel coat that shines with all the possibilities of different pizza pies. The heavy gauge stainless steel looks clean and packs a punch, but it also establishes the oven’s long-lasting durability and ability to retain a lot of heat (that’s upwards of 1,000℉). A high-temperature, ceramic glass door both allows users to check on their food without opening the oven and covers the woodfire, inner mechanics. Once the oven’s hot enough and after you’ve decided on your pizza toppings, garlic marinara, cheddar cheese, seared pineapple (maybe), some fresh basil, you can slide it right onto the oven’s rotating pizza stone and watch the magic happen. In just under ten minutes, QubeStove can reach temperatures upwards of 1,060℉, which users can conveniently check on the oven’s built-in thermometer, and then it’ll be just 90 seconds until pizza night. Fortunately, making crispy, well-cooked pizza will be just as easy as clean up.

One of QubeStove’s core elements is its portability and simple deconstruction. By folding the oven’s legs, QubeStove downsizes into a portable, handheld stove that you can carry with you anywhere. Of course, this simplifies storing QubeStove for the nights spent indoors and also packing it up for camping trips or pool parties. Once everyone’s almost-13” pizza pies are fully cooked and ready to eat, QubeStove makes it easy to transform the oven into a stove so that you can bring it over to the fire pit to enjoy your pizza creations fireside. QubeStove operates through the burning of wood pellets. Inside QubeStove’s chimney, you’ll find the fire-making mechanism that makes it all work. Once the oven is ignited, wood pellets catch fire on top of an iron grate that’s just above a pocket of airflow, which provides just enough oxygen to maintain the fire’s intensity and an ashtray that collects the fire’s debris all while your pizza rotates and burns evenly.

In addition to the 2-in-1 feature of QubeStove, it’s multi-functionality doesn’t stop there. The creators behind QubeStove recognized the versatility in how many dishes can be made using either the oven or the stove. The truth is, it’s up to the user to decide. Whether you’re in the mood for stir-fry, chili, an omelet, or just some good-old pizza, with QubeStove, the possibilities are as endless as your imagination, so keep the s’mores coming.

Lightweight, rotatable, and foldable – Kooke portable gas stove is here to upgrade your camping style!

Given the current scenario, you’d definitely be itching to get to the outdoors and be sure of making the most of the opportunity. Stepping beyond borders is not something that’s going to happen anytime soon without compromising health, so the easiest option is to remain local. No matter the location you pick to camp in, you want to be extra cautious with what you eat (keeping the immune system strong is important), and a camping stove that helps you cook up fresh healthy food is exactly what you need!

When you look up a portable stove for the next outdoor adventure you will find a range of them available the moment you press the magical search button. What you’re unlikely to find is a compact and foldable stove that’ll take away half your packing woes before gearing up for the camp. The Kooke Portable Stove makes an impression with its lightweight, rotatable, and foldable form factor. When you want to use it – swivel open the gas stove from its plastic housing, pull out the burner stands, slot in the fuel can, and voila you’re done! A rotatable controller on the face of the stove lets you switch the gas on and control the flame. Kooke can be easily folded back, to store after use, occupying little possible storage space. Interestingly, the portable stove is easy to carry with a handle on the plastic case and fits the bill in the outdoors with both function and appearance.

The award-winning Kooke portable gas stove comes in two colors, black and champagne gold. Using and storing it shouldn’t be a fuss because that’s pretty much why this is designed in the first place making it perfect size to take on long hike or camp in nature where a hot meal wouldn’t come easy. Using it under vigil is important for it doesn’t have a windshield around the burner, which can be a situation in windy outdoors. Nonetheless, we are ready to pack this on our next trip, what’s your take?
