This Fan-made TMNT Donatello Figurine is Insanely Good

A concept artist going by the moniker Embertwist recently shared their latest creation on Reddit. It’s a sixth-scale figurine of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’s gadget expert, Donatello, but with a couple of slick twists. First off are the immediately noticeable purple Air Jordan 1 sneakers, but Don is also rocking a backpack that’s partly made from an NES.

Embertwist designed the 3D model themselves, then 3D printed the model to make a master mold. The final figurine was then cast from resin and handpainted. Aside from the radical accessories, the coloring and textures are just top-notch. It’s amazing how much one person can do these days.

This is actually the second TMNT figurine that Embertwist designed and created. He made a Leonardo figurine last year to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the TMNT movie. Here’s an awesome video synopsis of Embertwists’s process, which they said was the same for both figurines:

If you’re a hardcore TMNT fan, this is the best bit: Embertwist is going to offer a small batch of the Donatello figurine for sale. Keep an eye on their Instagram account for updates and more pictures.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Cutter Set: No Slice Left Behind

Like most children during the ’80s, I spent much of my time watching cartoons and going to the movies. One of the bigger franchises back in the day was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I always thought they were weird, and the biggest thing I had in common with the Turtles is their love for pizza.

If you are the ninja pizza cutting sort, this is the utensil set for you. It comes with one wheel-type pizza cutter and one spatula, each with a handle that looks like a sword. I can’t say that I have ever used a spatula to get the pizza off the pan, but whatever.

The spatula and cutting blade for the pizza cutter are stainless steel, and both are dishwasher safe. The set sells for $29.99 at ThinkGeek.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder Cheese Shredder

So yeah. This exists. If it’s wordplay, someone will make a product out of it. That’s the case here. What you are looking at is an officially licensed stainless steel Shredder cheese shredder. It taunts turtles while it shreds cheeses.

This geeky kitchen gadget has a classic stainless steel box cheese grater design with a handle in the shape of Shredder from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. That’s pretty cool I guess, but they really should have included some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle shaped cheeses as well. I mean, Shredder is the bad guy after all and if he’s gonna shred, he should shred the turtles. Right? Plus you get to resell nerds cheeses over and over again. That’s how you make money. It’s the old razor-razorblade business model.

But as it is, all they did was slap a Shredder head onto a standard cheese grater. I can do that myself for cheaper. I mean it won’t be a fancy metal head like this one but still. This isn’t exactly a shredder that will Make America Grate Again is all I’m saying.

Grab the Shredder shredder over on Amazon for $22. Hit me up again when you have some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cheeses to offer, you weirdos.

Playmates TMNT x Ghostbusters Action Figures: Parapsychologists in a Half Shell

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures get a ton of alternate and crossover versions, but Playmates’ Halloween offering has to be an instant classic. It’s a mashup of New York weirdest: TMNT and Ghostbusters.

The mashup casts Raphael as Winston, Leonardo as Ray, Mike as Pete and of course Donatello as Egon. Not only do they have ghostbusting uniforms and accessories, they even have their respective characters’ hair. Each action figure also comes with a different ghost to bust.

Now we need a mashup of the Turtle Van and the Ecto-1. These figures should be available very soon at Target stores for $20 (USD) each. Toyark got their hands on the figures and took tons of beauty shots, so be sure to check out their gallery if you’re interested in the toys.

10 Coolest Video Game Ugly Christmas Sweaters

10-coolest-video-game-christmas-sweaters

Whether you’re ready or not, the holiday season is fast approaching.

Chances are, if you’ve been to the store lately, you’ve already seen all the Christmas decorations and gifts on display. I really wish Thanksgiving wasn’t so overlooked, I mean, food is great, but since making a list of Thanksgiving sweaters might be a little too difficult, I’m going to go ahead and give you a list of the coolest Christmas sweaters around.

Not just your typical ugly sweaters with jingle bells and cotton balls, but sweaters that will show off your love of Christmas and your love of video games. Even though Thanksgiving food is great, no one can deny that Christmas and video games combined might just be the best thing ever.

Legend of Zelda Link Ugly Christmas Sweater

This Legend of Zelda sweater, featuring Link, is truly a holiday treat. You may not get the Triforce for Christmas, but this could be just as satisfying. Skip the evil Black Friday villains this year and order this sweater online in the comfort of your pajamas. (Or be like Link and go on an adventure to the mall. It’s up to you.)

Pokemon Pikachu Ugly Christmas Sweater

Pokemon Go is all the rage this year, and no doubt there will be lots of Pokemon gifts exchanged. Opt for this unique, yet adorable, Pikachu sweater. It’ll melt the heart of anyone who wears it. Pika-aww <3

Mario Ugly Christmas Hoodie Sweater

So maybe the classic, “ugly,” Christmas sweater isn’t your thing. No fear, this awesome Mario hoodie is here to make you look cool, geeky, and festive all at the same time! Jump for joy like the jumping man himself. Fun fact: Did you know Mario was originally named Jumpman, before he became the Italian plumber we all know and love?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ugly Christmas Sweater

Turtles in Time is one of the best SNES games created and if there’s one thing I love other than that game, it’s pizza. If there’s one thing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles love, it’s also pizza. If you’re a TMNT fan and a pizza fan, show off your love by wearing this sweater at your next holiday party. Maybe there will be pizza. Anyone hungry?

Jurassic World Ugly Christmas Sweater

I never beat the original Jurassic Park video game, but it’s part of a classic franchise of successful movies that spawned many games, sequels, and all kinds of merchandise. The latest entry, Jurassic World broke all sorts of records upon its release. Prepare for the inevitable sequels by picking up one of these fantastic sweaters! Look how cute that Santa hat is on the T-Rex!

Star Wars Dark Side Helmets Ugly Christmas Sweater

This is actually the first of two Star Wars sweaters I’ve decided to include. The graphic print, rather than the traditional knit look sets it apart from many other Christmas sweaters, and the bow tie element is just the cutest thing. You simply can’t go wrong with Star Wars; it’s perfect for almost any geek out there.

Skyrim Ugly Christmas Sweater

Are you the dragonborn? No matter, this sweater suits any Elder Scrolls or Bethesda fan. You’ll feel warm and cozy wearing this sweater while picking the pockets of townspeople and slaying dragons in the desolate, freezing land of Skyrim.

Fallout Ugly Christmas Sweater

With its simple, immediately recognizable design and logo, this Fallout ‘Happy Holidays’ is the sweater to wear if you’re the type who doesn’t like explaining what video game or movie your clothes came from. Fallout also has the advantage of being one of the most popular series right now, with Fallout 4 released just last year.

Star Wars Yoda Christmas Sweater

The second Star Wars sweater that I couldn’t resist including. “Silent Night, Jedi Night,” get it? “Silent night, holy night? Jedi knight?” Yeah, you probably got it. Anyway, look at that Santa Yoda. I’d love the jolly green jedi to bring me gifts. “A merry christmas, I wish you.”

Pac-Man Christmas Sweater

Colorful, festive, and very 80s esque, this retro blast from the past is great for the nostalgic video game fan. Or the hipster who refuses to play anything besides Atari and NES.

Hopefully, you found some great choices for the gamers in your life. Whether it’s for a holiday party, a Christmas gift, or just a sweater you want to wear yourself all winter long, I think these sweaters are all awesome choices. Have a happy holiday season and keep being a geek!

The Official TMNT Pizza Oven: Chewabunga!

Give your kid a small electric appliance and let them bake some pizza. What could go wrong? Remember the Easy Bake Oven from your childhood? This is the TMNT version. Cowabunga!

tmnt_pizza_oven_1zoom in

This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Oven comes with a cheese pizza mix, spatula, baking pan, and a measuring tool that will let you make a totally rad cheese pizza in just 15 minutes. It’s going to be a small (and probably not very good) pizza, but still. This will get your kid on his or her way to living in sewers and ordering their own pizza while taking orders from a rat.

You can also pick up a refill pack with six more mixes so you and your friends can all enjoy.

TMNT Onesie Pajamas: Heroes in a Polyester Shell

If you’re going to eat pizza in bed, you might as well look the part, right? I can think of no better way than to suit up in these Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles union suit-style pajamas.

If you’re a fan of Michelangelo, Leonardo or Raphael, you’re in luck, but for some reason, they’re not making one for Donatello. However, there is another version that skips the face on the hood and gives you four colored eye masks to choose from, so if you must be Donatello, you can go with that option.

And if you’re thinking about acting out some TMNT fantasies in the bedroom, you’ll want to pick up this Shredder bathrobe for your girlfriend:
