Named the Ventura Park Model Tiny Home, and designed by Mint Tiny House Company, this dwelling features a spacious apartment-like layout that can comfortably sleep six people. The home allows you to enjoy the flexibility of a tiny home, without having to downsize way too much. It is the best of both worlds. The house is based on a quad-axle trailer and features a length of 40 feet. It also has an increased width of 10 feet, unlike the typical tiny home standard of 8.5 feet – this allows for a more spacious layout. But, this also entails that the Ventura Park Model will need a permit for towing on a public road.

You can enter the home via double glass doors, which lead you into the living room. The interior is quite spacious and light-filled, on account of a generous amount of glazing. It has a floor space of 400 sq ft, and it includes seating, a wall-mounted TV, an electric fireplace, and shelving. The kitchen is located close by, and it is U-shaped. A fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, three burner propane-powered stove, and a farmhouse-style sink are included in the kitchen. The kitchen also incorporates a breakfast bar with stool seating and storage space. The ground floor also houses a bathroom equipped with a shower, sink, and flushing toilet.

The tiny home contains three bedrooms. The master bedroom is placed on the ground floor, and you can enter it from the living room through a barn-style sliding door. French firms always struggle to make do with the limited room found in tiny homes, since the country’s towing laws are pretty strict, and they dictate compact and small homes. To deal with the issue of excessively limited space in a tiny home, Plume created its recent Cosmos model with a clever space-saving interior that incorporates a handy netted upstairs area. Based on a double-axle trainer, the Cosmos features a length of 20 feet and is quite small compared to North American tiny homes.

The Cosmos features a finishing of thermally treated poplar cladding, and it is topped with an aluminum roof. A glass front door leads you to the living room, which is quite spacious for a French tiny home. The living room includes a sofa, coffee bed, shelving, and a wood-burning stove for warmth. The home is amped with loads of generous glazing, which creates a pretty light-filled interior. As you walk further into the home, you are welcomed by a kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, a propane-powered two-burner stove, a mini-fridge/freezer, a sink, and plenty of storage space. It also includes a small dining table. The kitchen and bathroom are connected, although the bathroom is pretty small, and features a shower, sink, and toilet.

The Cosmos has an upper storey which can be accessed via a staircase that is incorporated into the kitchen unit. The upper level includes the master bedroom, which is like most loft-style bedrooms found in tiny homes. Although the bedroom does include a door for some privacy. The opposite end of the floor hosts another loft-style bedroom which can be used for guests. Both the bedrooms are connected through the netted area, which is excellent for sitting and catching up on some reading. This section also allows sunlight to enter and spread throughout the home.

This Motorized Tiny Home Can Power Through Different Kinds Of Challenging Terrains

Through the years tiny homes have been innovating like crazy, always surprising us with their unique and clever designs. Another tiny home that recently struck my fancy is the Rubishack by Canada’s Rubitracks. The Rubishack is a one-of-a-kind home with its own engine and off-road tracks, which ensure that it can handle even the most challenging terrains. The Rubishack a motor home amped with a heavily modified truck base and a first-generation Cummins engine which has covered only about 150,000 miles.

The tiny home is anchored by four bolt-on tracks which have been constructed by Rubitracks. It is a four-wheel-drive, and can successfully handle rivers, snow, the beach, and muddy terrains. The “home” section of Rubishack is made primarily from wood, and equipped with generous glazing as well as a planter at the front. It measures 16 feet in length and 7 feet in width. The interior is well-designed, and both the driver and passenger seats have been sourced from a 1970s motorhome. Both the seats can swivel at 360 degrees. The double bed has been positioned in front of the driving seat, while the seating area and table have been placed behind it.

The Rubishack tiny home was designed by Rubitracks as a promotional attempt, instead of an actual tiny house that serves as a motor home as well. So, unfortunately, the build isn’t going to be available anytime soon in the market. However, it is an innovative creation that truly pushes the boundaries of what a tiny home can be. The Rubishack can powerfully work through landscapes with different terrains, which is truly a feat in itself.

Dubbed the Fàng Sōng, this houseboat is designed by Crossboundaries and is powered by a solar panel setup. The houseboat features a clever space-saving interior that draws inspiration from tiny homes. The name is derived from the Chinese word for relaxation. The owners commissioned Crossboundaries to create a home that lets them live near the coast, enabling them to enjoy a peaceful life on the water. The houseboat serves as a comfortable yet tiny abode to live and work in.

“Crossboundaries has re-designed a fully solar-powered motorboat with high-end, tiny-home characteristics that enable it to function as a slow-motion traveling nest,” said the firm. “The five-year-old boat caught Marianne’s eye, its exterior’s resemblance to a bus on the water and the potential for the interior design quickly sparked her interest. With enough space for up to two persons as well as guests, it had the potential to easily become a personal retreat for re-energizing and a cozy getaway to invite friends and family.”

The interior of the houseboat is quite spacious and occupies around 667 sq ft over one floor. The dwelling comfortably floats above water and is amped with generous glazing, most of which is operable. The glazing allows light to stream in through the day and supports ventilation. The interior decor is vibrant and bright with hues of red and yellow. Although the red and yellow maybe too loud and extravagant for some people, so it depends on personal preferance.

The kitchen is also included in this space, and it is well-stocked and designed with an oven, four-burner propane-powered stove, fridge, drink, and a folding dining table that can be put away when not in use. A folding bed can also be fitted over the helm. The whole home is amped with underfloor storage, which is truly quite useful. The home is heated by a pellet stove, which can be controlled via an app. The space also includes a terrace area with seating.

As mentioned the home is solar-powered, but we are unaware of the capacity of the solar panels. The solar panels have been installed on the rooftop and the facade. The firm says that in good weather conditions, the small houseboat can be powered completely by the solar panels, allowing it to cruise for around 31 miles per day.

The home is pretty compact, but the extra space has allowed the designer to create a space-saving layout that perfectly accommodates a family of four. Based on a double-axle trailer, the Hartley home features a black metal cladding, amped with generous glazing, allowing sunlight to stream in throughout the day. The home is powered by a standard RV-style hookup.

You can enter the home via double glass doors, wherein you are welcomed by a 290 sq ft floorspace. The interior is finished in plywood, with the entrance leading you to the kitchen. The kitchen is well-stocked, and well-designed, equipped with an oven with a four-burner-propane-powered stove, sink, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, custom cabinetry, and a pull-out pantry. The kitchen also includes a two-person breakfast bar. The kitchen and the living room are connected. The living room includes a sofa, a small deck, as well as a storage-integrated staircase.

The opposite end of the home includes the bathroom. The bathroom is pretty spacious and roomy for a tiny home, and it is equipped with a shower, flushing toilet, vanity sink, and loads of custom cabinetry. France has pretty tough towing laws, which probably explains why French tiny homes are smaller and more compact as compared to the ones made in the US. French tiny homes are known to be little and portable, but the Tiny house du Lac by Plume takes that portability to a whole new level. Measuring a length of 17.8 feet, the home accommodates two people, or even a family of three – though that could be a bit of a tight fit.

As you enter the home, you truly understand how compact it is. Most of the floor space is occupied by one large room. You are instantly welcomed by the kitchen, which is pretty compact, but includes an induction stove, small fridge, sink, and some cabinetry. Although the available floor space is limited, the home includes a living room as well. The living room holds a two-person sofa and a small drop-down wall-mounted dining table that seats two people. Wooden furniture and light hues dominate the space, creating a living environment that is soft and warm, making one feel instantly at ease.

The opposite end of the home contains the bedroom, which is quite an interesting room, as it is arranged like a loft bed, instead of a conventional mezzanine bedroom. You can access the double bed via some wooden steps, and the space beneath the bed is used as a storage space. Plume also recommends that the space below can be used for a child’s bed or as a cozy reading nook. The adorable and comfortable home is a perfect fit for those who like a life on the go. Baluchon needed to keep the home in the “tiny home” category, without letting it feel too cramped for its tall owner. The home is equipped with a simple and cleverly designed layout and amped with flexible furniture. Generous glazing has been incorporated to ensure maximum sunlight enters the home.

The name Yggdrasil has been adopted from Norse mythology. The home is based on a double-axle trailer and is accentuated with a cedar finish and blue aluminum accenting. The insulation is made from a mix of cotton, linen and hemp. The home is powered by a standard RV-style hookup. The interior of the home is finished in spruce, and it seems to be quite open and spacious, despite its compact size. As you enter the home, you are welcomed by a living room. This space includes a big L-shaped sofa bed, with loads of integrated storage space. The bed can sleep two people, and the room also includes a dining table and a wood-burning stove for heat. The kitchen is placed next to the living room, and it includes an oven, fridge, sink with a cutting board insert and plenty of storage space. The counters in the kitchen are higher to complement the tall owner.

A glass wall separates the living room and kitchen while ensuring sunlight still streams into the room. The bathroom is connected to the kitchen and is pretty small, equipped with a toilet and a shower. The Yggdrasil only contains one bedroom, and it can be accessed via non-removable wooden steps. The bedroom is like most bedrooms in tiny homes, it sports a typical loft style with a low ceiling. The room is shaped like the letter L and has sufficient space for a double bed and storage space. We don’t know the price of the Yggdrasil tiny home, but Baluchon houses usually start around US$84,000.
