C-3PO is many things, and now he’s an electric guitar, too. Etsy user Marc Potter is in the business of creating unique guitars and other instruments like banjos using the most unusual of materials. He had a C-3PO collector’s case lying around, so naturally, he took it and turned it into a guitar!

Rainy Day Instruments presents …#063 C3PO electric Star Wars Guitar, Nice used Behringer maple neck securely attached to a Classic C3PO collectors case. Action figure case still can open and TALKS!

Our hearts bleed for the destruction of the classic toy that’s in otherwise fine condition, but isn’t the guitar just a beaute? You can check out Marc’s Etsy page for more of his creations, including a banjo crafted from a bed pan!

Official Star Wars iPhone Cases Strike Your Phone’s Back

If the rumors are true, Apple may be getting ready to announce the iPhone 5 next week, rendering your iPhone 4/4S obsolete. But there is a new hope, young Padawan. Accessory maker PowerA will soon release a line of officially licensed Star Wars cases for your phone.

There will be four Collector Cases designed after Darth Vader, C-3PO, R2-D2 and Chewbacca. Yep, the Chewie case has fur on it. There are also two less interesting Saga Cases featuring art from the Star Wars movie posters.

It’s a shame they forgot to make one of Han Solo in Carbonite. The Collector and Sage Cases will be available later this year for $40 (USD) and $30 respectively.

The good crew at Instructables knows your plight and has designed the R2-D2 Dark Roast Edition to give your astromech desires an almost literal jolt of energy. The team's do-it-yourself project modifies a BUNN industrial coffee maker -- no slow-drip home unit here -- with a float valve and a generous mix of aluminum, brass, copper and steel welded on top. If you're particularly ambitious, you can even make R2 bleep his delight when you've got a fresh pot lined up. Constructing a Dark Roast Edition requires a good amount of electrical and metalworking savvy, but it might be worth your time while you wait for C-3PO to reach stores.
