Shargeek’s tiny 35W GaN fast charger is an adorable retro throwback for all Apple fans!

Looking for a good fast charger for your iPhone? Shargeek just designed the perfect one!

Now the Retro 35W GaN Charger from Shargeek isn’t as impressive as is much more popular transparent cyberpunk-inspired power bank, but it has a different sort of appeal that most tech nerds will instantly fall in love with. The charging brick models itself on the original Macintosh computer, complete with the MacOS ‘smiling’ logo displayed on the tiny computer’s screen. Built with a GaN semiconductor on the inside, the tiny charger comes with a max output of 35W, which is enough to fast-charge your iPhone or any other device. Plug it in and not only does it charge your device, but the Mac’s screen comes to life too, lighting up in various colors to let you know your device’s charging status!

The highlight of this tiny charger is its design. Created as a perfect tribute to the Macintosh and also a rather funny juxtaposition of an old-tech exterior but a state-of-the-art GaN interior, the charging brick sits on your plug socket or extension board, smiling at you while delivering juice to your devices. The smiling screen also comes with its own LED backlight which just feels like an incredibly joy-giving experience on its own. Plug your charger in and the backlight lets you know the charging status. A white light means ‘not charging’, while yellow, blue, and green lights range between normal to fast, and finally ‘super’ charging.

As adorably tiny as it looks, the Mac-shaped charger packs a punch. Powered by GaN Ⅲ technology, the charger delivers up to 35W of power in its tiny avatar, charging devices like your phone, tablet, TWS earbuds, drone, handheld gaming console, and even your laptop. Its ability to deliver high wattage to your devices makes them charge faster (that’s putting it simply) – for instance, the Retro 35W GaN Charger gates your iPhone 14 from 0% to 50% battery in just 30 minutes.

The retro-inspired charger is compatible with a wide range of devices, almost an antithesis to Apple’s own ‘walled garden’. It’s tiny enough to fit in your pocket and weighs a mere 55 grams or 2 ounces. Each Shargeek Retro 35W GaN charger also comes with a set of DIY stickers that you can place on the tiny Mac’s screen, effectively changing your charger’s ‘wallpaper’!

This ultra-compact power adapter floored me with its transparent aesthetics and speeds to charge the iPhone

Quick and efficient charging is a demand created not only by the sprouting gadgetry, but it’s also a prerequisite for all of us living in the fast-paced world. We need our phones charged before boarding the subway and the laptop battery full to the brim ahead of a presentation. Catering to this demand, fast charging tech is evolving by leaps and bounds, bringing charging duration down to mere minutes.

Fast-charging batteries are a mandatory accessory in modern-day gadgetry: phones, laptops and more since they facilitate users with less time waiting for their devices to charge and more time on the go. As companies scrape charging adaptors from the device packaging, there is a tremendous demand for third-party manufacturers to provide powerful and inventive charging devices. Case in point, Nomad’s 30W output charger, which steals the show with its looks to peek through.

At first glance, this Nomad 30W USB-C charger is an outright attraction. You can see through the shell (comprising transparent plastic) and watch the electronics within in action. Perhaps, you may not see anything like the complicated mechanical movement of a timepiece visible through the skeleton dial or a transparent case back, but if you have celebrated Nothing’s naked earbuds, this accessory deserves applause as well.

Yes, the GaN components forming the innards of the compact charger have their own story to tell as you see them in action, but other than that, the Nomad accessory has nothing more intriguing to rank in its sales pitch. For the sake of the gimmicky semblance, it is an exciting device for the eyes, otherwise, it’s an ordinary 30W charger, even though Nomad may just choose to agree. The accessory manufacturer believes that this 30W stylish charger in a transparent black body is a powerful device to own.

Available in a form factor measuring marginally bigger than Apple’s original 5W USB-A charger, the 30W USB-C Power Adapter packs almost six times the punch. The $30 odd charger can effectively charge iPhones faster and generate enough power to juice up a MacBook Air on the go. If you wanted an adaptor for your iPhone 14 that can charge it at a faster speed than the base one, Nomad has got you covered with transparent aesthetics to spice things up!

Portable electric vehicle charger with cable coiled up is the fast + convenient way to charge any EV!

The global electric vehicle market is expected to grow up to about 34,756 thousand units by the end of the decade. However, the popularity of electric cars is not matched by the infrastructure so the required charging stations aren’t as widespread to instigate a larger fan base to adapt the new form of eco-friendly transportation. The increasing government involvement globally is however working as an incentive for OEMs that are creating opportunities and devising ways to expand EV charging options so they can jump onto the revenue scheme.

Alongside them are the designers that fathom the possibility of making the concept of EV charging portable, so individuals can ride without worrying about where and how to charge their vehicles. Portable EV chargers have caught pace in the last few years, and the A-monite, a concept for a portable electric vehicle fast charger is one fine example of how the intention is altering and is revolutionizing the way people think of electric vehicle ownership. A portable charger like the A-monite removes the question of where, when, and how out of actually charging the electric vehicle. It taps into the lack of charging infrastructure so that a vehicle does not have to towed to a charging station – if it’s stranded on the highway. Instead, it can be powered up, right there and then with a portable charger in the boot of the car. It is an interesting alternative to the fixed stands installed in the parking lots, buildings, and in outdoors.

A-monite can be used for public or personal use and is more efficient than other portable EV charging battery solutions in that it has the charger and cable built-in, and that it comes with its own adjustable handle as opposed to batteries that have to be carried on cart systems. The conceptual charging solution does propose fast charge but it doesn’t reveal the output; however, it takes into account the wire management issue and lets one measure electricity usage through an RFID card.

Inspired by the shape of an ammonite and the functionality of a cable reel, this portable electric vehicle fast charger is delivered in the roundish form factor with the cable coiled up within the body. When you want to charge, just pull out the cable from the A-monite, fasten it to a power socket and you’re good to juice up your vehicle anywhere, anytime. And when you’re done, simply lift up the built-in handle and roll off the charger back to storage. It can be used in a public space, on-call during emergencies, or can be carried in the boot no matter where the road takes you. The possibilities with the A-monite are endless!

The Fastest Phone Charger In The World Requires Only 30 Seconds

30-second-phone-charger

We’re living in the future! A company claims that users will soon be able to fully recharge their phones in 30 seconds. That’s less than the time you need to make some instant coffee!

This is not a snappy nor a sensationalist title: StoreDot Ltd., a new Israeli start-up claims to have devised a method that can recharge phones (fully!) in only 30-seconds. They were born out of the nanotechnology department at Tel Aviv University, and developed this prototype for Samsung Galaxy 4. Rest assured, though, they plan to create more devices for a variety of models.

This might sound to some as a recipe for disaster akin to putting your phone in the microwave, but these guys are pros. Check the video below these lines to learn more!

Fuji Electric releasing first coin-operated EV fast charger, gives electric cars extra life

DNP Fuji Electric releasing first coinoperated EV fast charger, gives electric cars extra lifeFuji Electric Retail Systems Co. is no stranger to flipping coins for profit, thanks to a robust lineup of vending machines such as the A011. The Japanese company, however, has also branched out from dispensing hot and cold drinks for change by supplementing its offerings with a different kind of juice. Meet the FRCM00CK -- the industry's first coin-operated fast charger for electric vehicles, according to Fuji Electric. The charger measures 300mm wide, 400mm deep, 1,210mm tall and tips the scale at 41 kilograms. It also doesn't take paper currency, limiting its appetite to coins in ¥10, ¥50, ¥100 and ¥500 denominations. The machine's product page doesn't give specifics about how long it takes to charge vehicles but says it can provide a maximum charging time of 60 minutes. Incidentally, Fuji Electric's US site states that its FRC series of EV chargers can completely power up a 25 kWh electric vehicle battery in about 60 minutes. The coin-operated charger will cost ¥600,000 or about $7,600 and is slated for a 2012 release. Some may argue that it doesn't have quite the geek cool of the Roto-A-Matic or the WiFi vending machine. Still, the FRCM00CK is decidedly more electric.
