LEGO Godzilla might be smaller than its living counterpart, but it’s just as ferocious

It’s strange that we’ve got probably around ten or more Godzilla movies, but no Godzilla LEGO set yet. Hoping to change that, LEGO Builder Matthew Esposito decided to make a small-scale brick version of everyone’s favorite city-smashing reptile. Modeled after the ‘King of Monsters’ Godzilla (from the 2019 movie), this tiny terror stands merely a few inches tall, but encapsulates every inch of its original form’s grandeur, with its hefty body, incredibly long tail, and the ability to blow blue flames in any direction, razing cities down in mere minutes with zero regret.

Designer: Matthew Esposito

“I was really blown away by the new look of the Godzilla in these newer movies. I was fascinated by how this new iteration of Godzilla was designed, and I thought that this new look would translate incredibly well into LEGO,” says LEGO builder Matthew Esposito. “This model would make a great LEGO set because I believe that, with the new movie coming soon into theaters and onto streaming services, I believe that many people would be hyped and excited to watch this new movie, as well as have their own buildable Godzilla at hand to play with.”

Esposito doesn’t mention how many bricks his build uses, but it’s probably in the ~500 ballpark (I could be completely wrong). The Godzilla features multiple moving parts, including opposable hands and fingers, a moving jaw, adjustable legs, and even an adjustable tail (which does need its own separate support given the Godzilla’s strange CG). Esposito employs the use of grey bricks, which lends itself well to the iconic monster, and even uses bricks with cracks at certain intervals, highlighting Godzilla’s imperfect skin. The LEGO brick bumps are visible across the body too, almost acting like scales!

This build also comes with its own rich blue fireball that fits right in Godzilla’s mouth, making it look like it’s shooting flames at a building or a nearby helicopter.

Esposito originally built this LEGO version of Godzilla back in 2021, gaining massive support from the LEGO Ideas community who rushed to give him the 10,000 votes he needed to enter the review stage of the LEGO Ideas process. Sadly, the internal team at LEGO rejected the submission at the time, but Esposito resubmitted his MOC (My Own Creation) to the forum again this year, already garnering over 3,400 votes. If you want to see the LEGO Godzilla turn into a retail box set, head down to the LEGO Ideas website and give Esposito your vote!

Godzilla Tissue Dispenser Stomps out Stuffy Noses

Usually, when you think of Godzilla, you imagine the giant reptilian breathing fire from his mouth. But it turns out that the monster can also dispense tissues between his mighty jaws. Yes, this is a Kaiju for Kleenex.

Japanese company Rotary Hero (the same people behind the Big Moai tissue box) makes this amusing dispenser that makes your Kleenex look like smoke coming out of the famed Kaiju’s mouth. It’s also officially licensed Godzilla merch too, so no lawyers from TOHO will be knocking on your door.

These initially went on sale this past May from Japan-based collector’s shop DeAgostini for about $50, but they don’t seem to be available there at the moment. I’m hoping some of these eventually turn up on eBay so I can put Godzilla in my bathroom. For now, I guess I’ll have to settle for a Godzilla toilet paper holder.

Godzilla Humidifier Improves Your Air with Monster Breath

Whether you have the heat cranked up during cold weather, or live in the desert or mountains, extremely dry air can be quite hard on your system. The best thing you can do besides gulping down buckets of water is to get yourself a good humidifier. And if you’re going to have to put a humidifier on your shelf or tabletop, it might as well look like Godzilla.

The King of the Humidifiers offers up a delightful mist to help improve moisture, and does it with style. Turn Godzilla on, and his theme music plays. His mouth also lights up to create a heat ray effect, which I assumed to be a cold ray since it’s blue. The desktop Kaiju will also alert you when his water tank is empty by making footstep sounds. Check him out in action in the video below:

All this Godzilla humidifying goodness can be yours for about $78 over on Amazon. I was able to find the same thing over on Ehobby Taiwan for just $1,899 Taiwan dollars, or about 62 bucks, though you’ll have to learn to speak Chinese if you want to buy one there.

Japanese Theme Park Getting Life-Size Godzilla!

Japan sure loves their classic monster movies, so it’s no wonder that Godzilla is always showing up all over the place. Now, it turns out that a theme park is building a life-size version of the scaly kaiju, and unlike some previous Godzilla statues, this one is going to be a permanent installation.

The gigantic Gojira will measure roughly 65′ high, 82′ wide, and 180′ long, and will be a fixture at the Nijigen no Mori anime theme park on Awaji Island. The massive creature will be part of an area to be called Godzilla Interception Operation, which will include several attractions, including a shooting arcade, as well as a zipline that glides right into the mouth of Godzilla.

Here’s hoping he doesn’t chomp down while you ride between his razor-sharpened teeth. Godzilla is expected to rise in the summer of 2020. I wonder if this means Mothra or Megalon will be showing up soon afterwards.

This Godzilla Guitar Is a True Monster of Rock

Godzilla is one of the most iconic movie monsters of all time. We’ve seen the creature take all kinds of forms over the years, but I can say with a high degree of certainty that this is the first time I’ve seen Godzilla as an electric guitar.

The handmade instrument was inspired by Japanese musician Takamizawa Toshihiko of the rock band The Alfee. This crazy guitar, known as the The Alfee Godzilla Guitar Awakening Version, features a body in the shape of Gojira himself, made from alder wood, along with a maple neck, with an ebony fingerboard. It also has sweet purple LED lighting along its body and embedded in its fret board, and a head that looks like Godzilla’s tail tip.

Of course something this epic doesn’t come cheap. It sells for 5,550,000 yen – or about $52,486 US dollars based on today’s exchange rates. Only a limited number will be made, and can be pre-ordered over at the Godzilla Store.

I Need This Gigantic Godzilla in My Life

Do you like Godzilla? I mean do you REALLY, REALLY like Godzilla? Then you’re going to want to start saving your money for this epic collectible from the X-PLUS Gigantic series.

This monstrous PVC kaiju figure measures in at a whopping 38.19″ long, and 18.5″ tall, and will look awesome on your desktop or bookshelf – assuming you have the space for it. Maybe the dining table is a better option. I love the idea of a Godzilla centerpiece surrounded by tiny buildings for it to stomp on. This thing is incredibly detailed. Just look at those razor-sharp teeth and deadly-looking spiny bits down its back and tail.

Pre-orders start in Japan today, with the monster selling for 66,000 yen – or about $610 here in the U.S. It’s not available for pre-order yet, but there’s a good chance you’ll be able to get one from Entertainment Earth or Big Bad Toy Store closer to its release.

LEGO Godzilla Is a Monster Creation

LEGO doesn’t make an official Godzilla set, but it should, and it should look exactly like this guy. He looks awesome, and is pretty smooth considering he’s made entirely of LEGO bricks. This LEGO MOC Godzilla by Redditor u/frenchybricksjunky is just amazing, and arrived on the scene in time for Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

This monster model is massive too, packing in some 4,000 pieces. Even better, this model is also fully articulated, allowing it to be adjusted into various poses. This isn’t some small action figure, which is why it took him an entire 4 months to complete. I have to say, the end result is pretty impressive. Especially considering that studs-not-on-top texture, which isn’t easy to do with LEGO.

If you want to create your own LEGO Godzilla, you can because Frenchy Bricks Junky is selling instructions for this version of the famous kaiju. It will cost you 20 euros (~$22.40 USD), and of course the cost of the LEGO bricks you need.

Let him stomp around your home, maybe build a Mothra for him to fight too. This giant LEGO Godzilla is truly King of LEGO monsters.

Dogzilla Figure Celebrates Lunar Year of the Dog

Among Kaiju, Godzilla is still the creature to beat. But who’s got room in their house to keep a towering beast like him as a pet? What we need is a dog-sized monster that we can curl up with on the couch. Well, thanks to artist Noger Chen of Goodzilla, we now have the house pet we always wanted.

Noger designed this Dogzilla figure to celebrate the Year of the Dog, but we’d be happy to have this spiky pooch scampering about in our yard no matter what year it is. This golden pup even has a tiny subway car to chomp down on instead of a bone, along with some sort of creepy crawler he can chase around too.

He’s even got a waggy tail to show you just how happy he is. Good Boy!

Sadly, Dogzilla isn’t real, nor is he really even a figure you can buy. Instead, he just appears to be a concept design at this point. But if I could have a real Dogzilla of my own, I would name him George and hug him and pet him and squeeze him.
