Travel case with built-in baby stroller helps young parents carry their luggage and child together

Here’s an idea that blew my mind. Why hasn’t a travel-case/baby-stroller hybrid existed yet?? It seems like just the kind of thing a parent would buy and use for a good 5-10 years of their life, so it’s surprising something like this was never made or launched. A winner of this year’s Red Dot Design Concept Award, Easy Journey is a travel case with an integrated stroller that pops right out of the front. Its clever hard-shell case design holds luggage but also has a fully equipped stroller with a hood and leg rest, big enough to fit a child up to the age of 18 to 24 months.

Designers: Chen Shilong, Fu Qiming, Ma Jinjin

Easy Journey is for traveling parents with young toddlers who need to be pushed around in a stroller. Instead of having the stroller exist as an independent product, designers at Taizhou University decided to build one right into a hard-shell travel case. The case comes with enough space on the inside to store your luggage (although the stroller does eat into some of it), and has 3 pairs of 360° wheels. When used as a travel case, it stands vertically, resting on 4 wheels on the bottom. However, when you want to use it in stroller mode, Easy Journey flips onto its back, with an extra pair of wheels popping out of the hardshell case’s interiors. The front (now the top) of the case opens up to reveal a rather comfortable baby seat, taking under a minute to use and set up. Easy Journey is perfect for parents with young kids, although one can make the case that the product has a relatively short lifespan once the kid outgrows the stroller. However, for parents looking to have more than one child, the stroller-case makes for a pretty nifty investment, allowing parents to travel with ease, carrying their luggage and children together in one organized, easy-to-maneuver unit!

The Easy Journey is a winner of the Red Dot Design Concept Award for the year 2022.

Man Builds Custom Fish Tank Stroller to Take His Goldfish on Walks

Taiwanese Youtuber Huang Xiaojie had a dream: a dream of taking his beloved goldfish for walks around town with him. So what did he do? He built himself a custom fish tank stroller, of course! I think we can all agree it was the logical decision and way better than just filling a backpack with water and hoping for the best.

The stroller consists of a sturdy metal chassis that holds a cylindrical acrylic tube for the fish, with an integrated filter system, oxygen pump, AND under-tank light for showing off his fish at night. How about that! Just make sure you don’t push them past any seafood restaurants and traumatize them.

I swear, the things people do for their pets. Take me, for instance – I sleep dangling off the side of a king-size bed because my two 14-pound dogs like to starfish right in the middle of it. Remember: healthy relationships are all about compromise. I just had no idea I would be the one doing all the compromising.

Rent a Millennium Falcon Carriage Stroller For Florida Disney Park Visits

When you have small kids it’s harder to get around, which is why strollers were invented. And when you have small kids and you are a geek… you need an appropriately geeky stroller. Fantasy Strollers is a stroller rental company based in Orlando, Florida. They offer Millennium Falcon and Cinderella carriage strollers so you can push your kids around Disney parks in style.

Both versions can carry two small children and they even have lighting effects. The Falcon model even has an interior light choice of red or blue for dark-sided or light-sided occupants. It’s never too early to start your kid on the road to being a Star Wars nerd after all.

That Millenium Falcon stroller also has a control panel, fans, and sound effects. No hyperdrive, though. There’s a new model of the carriage stroller being released in January, 2019 that will have seats that convert into a bed too. Nice. Just more weight for parents to push around.

Like most things at Disney’s theme parks, renting these strollers isn’t exactly cheap. It costs $130 to use one for 8 hours, then $20 for every additional hour. Kids today have so many cool things. Where’s the Millennium Falcon for adults to be pushed around in?

Most of us already can’t afford to go to Disney’s parks and now the cost just went up because your kid will have to take a ride in one of these.

A Solution for Aging Nations

A growing population of elderly individuals is a modern issue designers are just beginning to address. As more people grow old and dependent on alternative mobilities like wheelchairs, so does the need to keep individuals connected with their families. That’s the idea behind the “Connected” wheelchair.

The design is rooted in the idea that, just because one is confined to a wheelchair, they shouldn’t be prevented from something as simple as taking a stroll with their grandchildren. It combines the functionality of a car seat and stroller with a wheelchair so users can spend close time with loved ones at home or roaming outside. Not only restricted to use by the elderly, it’s also a solution for anyone with impaired mobility.

“The design could be converted to a stroller as well when the parents take their children out alone. For extending the life and value of the product, “Connect” would be finally used as a wheelchair for the elderly for independent mobility in sustainability,” designers Cheng and NG told Yanko Design.

Bobtail Turns Strollers into Scooters

So you’re pushing your rugrat in a stroller and you wish you could make it more fun. Well, maybe you can. Bobtail converts strollers into a scooter in just a few seconds. You just attach it to the rear of the stroller and skate instead of walking while strolling.

This should make things a bit more entertaining when you are out pushing your kid around. It adds a tubular steel frame, a wooden deck and a solid rubber (rear) tire to your stroller. You just clip it to the horizontal rod at the rear of your stroller, and you’re all set. You can control the speed with a friction fender brake and it will carry up to 250 lbs of weight.

Right now it is only compatible with BOB strollers, but they could make it for other models if this one is a success on Kickstarter. Get one for a pledge starting at $179(USD). The retail price will be around $250-260(USD).

Born to Fly Suitcase Doubles as a Baby Stroller

The Born To Fly suitcase really should come with one of the “Baby on Board” signs, because it’s carry-on suitcase with an integrated baby stroller. That way you can carry your child and your suitcase at the same time. That’s much better than carrying your kid IN your suitcase.

Parents who travel frequently can now push one item instead of trying to wrangle several. It’s pretty cool. Just don’t forget that you have a kid attached to your luggage and put him or her in the overhead compartment.

Once you reach your destination you can also use it as a chair for your baby. Parents will love that versatility. It’s also got a changing mat, and a built in USB charger for your gadgets. You can find it on Kickstarter for $290(USD)

Moxi Stroller Charges Your Phone via Generator Wheels

I have two kids and when kids are very young, a stroller isn’t something parents want to do without. Sure, you want to hold the baby a lot of the time, but you also want to put them down so they can sleep – and at times, you want to axe murder anyone who tries to wake them up. Today, parents are constantly taking selfies and baby pics meaning their phones run down all the time.

A new stroller called Moxi from 4moms is coming out this October for about $700. That is big money for a stroller, but it does more than push baby around. It has generators in the rear wheels and USB port on the handle that means you can plug your charge cable in, and walking your kid generates the power to recharge your device.

It also has a LCD screen that shows temperature, battery level, and distance walked. It folds, but it is a manual fold option. The wheel generators also power headlights and taillights on the stroller to keep you safe when playing Pokémon GO with your baby at night.

Adult Baby Stroller: You’ll Have to Push the Pram a Lot

I can distinctly remember taking my kids places when they were stroller size, and fighting with them to stay in the stroller. All kids want to do is escape that thing, and as I walked along in the Texas heat all I wished was that someone would push me around in a shaded comfy stroller. Stroller maker Kolcraft has made that dream possible by creating an adult-size baby stroller.

The company created the stroller to give adults a test ride to see how comfortable it is for kids. The jumbo stroller is based on the Contours Bliss stroller that lots of moms and dads have to cart their littles around in.The massive rig is 7′ 6″ tall, 6′ deep, and 4′ wide, and appears to ride on motorcycle tires in back. It looks utterly ridiculous as an adult size product and I’d rather like one for myself.

I’d hate to have to load this thing into my trunk though. Better yet, put a motor on this bad boy, and you won’t need a trunk or a car to get around.
