This megayacht with a detachable flying airship is a billionaire’s dream come true

Superyacht concepts, well, we’ve seen them all, right from the luxury-laden vessels to the ones that rarely crossed noblemen’s imagination. Lazzarini Design Studio has always surprised us with its unique concept yachts just when we think nothing could be better, and this one is right up there with the best.

This megayacht by the design studio reimagines what a multibillionaire would want in a luxury vessel and betters it. The idea is to make water adventures fun, and not let the owner and guests onboard get bored on long adventure trips. So, why not have a huge blimp that would be exponentially better than a helicopter parked on the deck?

Designer: Lazzarini Design Studio

Christened Colossea, the airship expands the possibility of travel and exploration by a couple of notches. It’s difficult to phantom the sheer size of this vessel and the fact that it has a detachable airship that draws inspiration from the Norge blimp. An eye-popping structure for onlookers way back a century ago in Rome, the airship was colossal. Lazzarini reimagines it with design tweaks, material upgrades, and propulsion technologies of current times. To keep the overall weight to a minimum, the airship is crafted out of carbon fiber for the external surface, as well as the internal structure.

All that power to smoothly lift the detachable blimp off the deck of the megayacht comes courtesy of the 8 electric engines. Completely capable of taking a flight between Europe and America, just like the Norge, this modern avatar of the airship houses 22 compartments and LH2 tanks for the liquid hydrogen batteries. The lift is provided by the H2 gas release into the 30,000 mc gas compartments and also the energy needs are sufficed by this system along with the solar panels on top. The advanced propulsion system gives the flying vessel measuring 106 meters, a top speed of 165 km/h. The yacht is powered by the HTS engines for a maximum speed of 22 knots.

A flying vessel so huge can haul a payload of 10,000 kg and the luxurious seating area is good enough for 24 passengers and 10 crew members. On the other hand, the 204-meter megayacht has 22 guest suites, a garage loaded with exploration gear, open-air lounges, and multiple decks with large waterfall swimming pools on the rear. All this ensures the perfect getaway ride for 44 guests and 20 crew members.

Hydrogen-powered ONYX H2-BO 85 superyacht redefines luxury and sustainability

The world of superyachts just got more interesting with the Italian designer Mask Architects’ ONYX H2-BO 85 vessel. This 85-meter yacht is a rare combination of luxury, lifestyle and eco-consciousness – thereby making it a testament to what’s possible when innovation and environmental responsibility converge.

It’s the world’s first superyacht to be powered by its own hydrogen production through onboard electrolysis and heralds a new era of sustainability in the world of yachting. This innovative process splits water into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity, creating a sustainable source of energy for the luxurious vessel. But it doesn’t stop there; the vessel raises the bar yacht design and proposes the future.

Designer: Mask Architects

To further enhance its commitment to sustainable power generation, the ONYX H2-BO 85 is equipped with hydroelectric turbines, capturing the kinetic energy of the water it treads through. This ingenious pairing not only provides energy efficiently during short cruising distances but also minimizes the humungous vessel’s environmental impact. That’s one of the most remarkable features of the ONYX H2-BO 85, as it glides through the pristine waters, leaving behind nothing but ripples and wakes.

As per Mask Architects, “The ONYX H2-BO 85 represents a significant leap forward in environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, onboard comfort, and financial savings. In a world where environmental consciousness takes center stage, this cutting-edge technology positions the yacht as the premier choice in the marine industry.”

Peep into the interior of ‘This Is It’ – the largest to be motor catamaran for charter

The Italian Sea Group (TISG) left the maritime world in awe when it released the first look of its intriguing catamaran. Now the vessel maker has launched the first look at the magnificent interiors of “This Is It.” Crafted under Tecnomar brand, this 43.5-meter motor catamaran is poised to make its grand debut at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.

‘This Is It’ boasts an exterior that seems to have sprung from the depths of a fantasy realm, evoking the graceful forms of mythical sea creatures. Its hull has been engineered meticulously to enhance hydrodynamic efficiency, which should result in reduced fuel consumption, a benefit every vessel maker strives for on the water.

Design: TISG

The catamaran’s exterior is mostly glass, which according to the makers measures about 600 square meters. The expansive view out of the window not only adds to the aesthetic appeal, but also sheds weight on the vessel’s construction, adding to the fuel efficiency.

If you’re not satisfied with the mere green aspect and crave speed and adventure on the open waters, ‘This Is It’ won’t disappoint. With a maximum speed of 19 knots, the motor catamaran promises to offer exhilarating voyages. However, if sustainability and milage have more impact on your buying decision; the catamaran can leisurely cruise at 10 knots to an astounding range of 3,500 nautical miles.

‘This Is It’ is designed for 12 people and boast cabins that are well lit with natural light penetrating through the skylight. The cabins are attached to a terrace, while the two on-board decks have vertical gardens for green appeal. The main lounge has floor-to-ceiling doors and connects to a multifunctional exterior area comprising a dining area, bar, game area, and swimming pool. On the upper deck is the rejuvenation area with a sauna, a sensorial shower and a playroom just adjacent to it.

Starting in April 2024, ‘This Is It’ will be ready to welcome guests as the largest motor catamaran available for charter. Environmental consciousness is at the forefront of its design and it should be a capable ride to embark on luxurious journeys to the world’s most stunning destinations.

This luxurious superyacht is a classy spearhead treading the waters

Superyachts for the rich and famous are always larger than life, loaded with all the best that the world has to offer. Some stun with their futuristic technology while others impress with their opulence and panache. Finding one that has got the best of both worlds is what piques our interest.

The dynamism of Flame superyacht concept draped in luxury is destined for high sea adventure where there’s no destination, rather the journey is all the excitement. The shape of the 230-foot vessel aptly complements the naming convention honed by the sharp lines giving it the feel of an arrowhead treading through water. The major section of the yacht is covered with an array of solar panels arranged in the shape of a flame. They take up all the load of serving the power needs, so it can go completely off-grid for days at an end.

Designer: Centrostyle Design

The classy exterior is well complemented by the interior that boasts an expansive open-plan living area. The section spans across multiple levels of the vessel and is specifically designed to bring the exteriors inside. This is achieved with a huge array of windows running on each side so that guests can experience the magnificence of the seas. For those who like to spend time in the open air, the yacht comes with an aft deck fit for sunbathing, playing sports or evening parties. The Flame also comes with a central pool and on the opposing end, the foredeck has a helipad for quick arrivals and departures.

According to the Italian design studio, the superyacht is “perceived with the intention to give up to easy compromises between space and form.” No wonder the influence of David Cipriani, who’s an acclaimed yatch designer clearly reflects in this concept.

This superyacht’s sharp bow and futuristic shape sets precedence for the high seas

The unusual wedge-like profile of Unique 71 concept yacht will instantly click with fat-pocketed individuals who want to own things that are an extension of their flamboyant personality.

Lazzarini Design Studio has displayed its concept superyacht designing prowess countless times in the past with no propitious match that comes close to theirs. That set to be challenged for once with the SkyStyle’s iteration of a stylized yacht for the rich and famous, designed in close quarters with Dension Yachting. The result of perfect harmony in thoughts between Max Pardo and Lucas Colombo, the founders of Denison Yachting and SkyStyle respectively, this sharp-featured water vessel is luxury personified to the brim. According to Denison’s Alex Clarke, “Unique 71 aims to satisfy the most challenging client.  The challenge will be finding a shipyard that can understand this vision and the client’s goals.”

Designer: SkyStyle and  Denison Yachting

The two visionary personalities met at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show, and instantly their design chemistry clicked, as Denison showed great interest in the SkyStyle’s project. The 71-meters long concept yacht capable of reaching top speed of 30 knots and cruising speed of 25 knots is made up of a reinforced aluminum hull and superstructure that matches Lazzarini’s design vision toe-to-toe. This yacht is made for a luxurious getaway adventure in the summer days courtesy of the glass-wrapped sky lounge, swimming pool on the deck and space for a helipad to land. The interiors seamlessly blend into the outside views – those privacy adjustable opaque glass panels make it possible.

Up to 12 guests can have the time of their life in the cozy confines of the 13-meter beam that makes space for six cabins. It consists of a master stateroom, a VIP suite and four cabins. There’s plenty of space to socialize on the four decks which are accessible via an elevator or wraparound central staircase. What’s more? The sublime yacht has a 12-seat theatre on the main deck, sauna, gym, and an expansive swimming pool encapsulated by seating space and sun pads.  The twin diesel engine-powered yacht’s crew resides in the lower deck having nine cabins with enough space for 17 members.

This superyacht with a gaping void in the middle is built for exploration in style

Could yachts in the future with gaping holes be the next big trend? If we are to believe what Lazzarini Design Studio has conceptualized in the past, and with this sleek piece of creation- the answer will be a resounding, yes! For the blueprint of their latest concept yacht, the design studio adapts the flair of the Shape yacht but with certain distinctions that make it stand out from the rest.

The silhouette of the Xenomorph head from the Alien franchise is an apparent relatable element, and the traces of Avanguardia yacht are also evident. So, has the Italy-based design house finally hit saturation with its thinking cap on? Most definitely not, as the 279-foot Icaria vessel hones massive deck space for two helicopters to park and a full-fledged tender garage to house a couple of watercrafts, accessible via two foldable doors. The superyacht has an imposing bow followed by a large glass bridge. Icaria is more tailored for explorers who like to tread out into the rough waters. For times when adventure seekers need to relax in the warmth of the sun, there is the gorgeous deck right by the hollowed-out area the designers refer to as “hole deck.”

This unique needle’s eye-like area is for the clients to customize as per their liking. It could be used as a dining section, a lounging area, or a cool open club like none other on the face of the planet.  By default, Lazzarini Design Studio wants to offer it as a flamboyant bar since the beam is almost 49 feet tall. As opposed to the Shape, the design studio hasn’t detailed in on the propulsion system of the Icaria superyacht. A wise guess would be, it also runs on the hydrogen-powered guts. Any which way, if this yacht meets fruition sometime in the future, it’ll be a head-turner for sure!

The folding rear deck of this Prancing Horse-inspired hyperyacht holds your Ferrari!

A hyperyacht inspired by Ferrari instantly reflects the signature design language of the famous Italian carmaker. In addition to pulling design inspiration, the Gran Turismo Mediterranea (GTM) also makes room for a Ferrari in the back!

Luxury yachts or superyachts, if you may, inspired by supercars are not new to the marine world. Yacht-makers have toiled in the space one a million times and there are some fine examples like the ‘phenomenal Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63’ which comes to mind. Now taking that same idea beyond the Lambo to Ferrari, Lazzarini Design Studio has crafted an impeccably sleek GTM concept that evokes the Prancing Horse in mannerism, style and consciousness.

Delivering to the desirous a notion of how a Ferrari would look like on the water, the Lazzarini GTM doesn’t give out the car it may be based on, but does replete the Prancing Horse DNA without a doubt. The two companies have not collaborated on the design, so you cannot earmark this one as official, but the concept has a design worth seeing the light of the day someday. Beyond the inspired look, the Gran Turismo Mediterranea is an 88-foot, sporty yacht, made using the Ferrari-favored carbon fiber.

Undeniably Ferrari for the seas, this design renders appear with a Ferrari badge on the front, gullwing doors and a cabin that welcomes the owner and crew into a sportscar-esque cockpit that ensure you don’t feel any difference from the Italian stallion’s driver seat to the pilot seat of this hyperyacht. As expected, this isn’t just a peach on show; for some muscle-power, the marine genius is powered by a hybrid propulsion system comprising a trio of MAN v-12 engines. It also features an Arneson transmission and a central Hamilton Jet drive for propelling the sea-beast into high speeds.

Discussing the top speeds, this hyperyacht with a folding sundeck that doubles as an extending garage for your Ferrari – so you can drive in and out of land most conveniently, can reach top speeds of 70 knots (approximately 80mph). Meant to glide over the waves with more speeds and less drag – akin to how the Ferrari rides on land – the GMT will make some billionaires cringe if it didn’t ride its way to the waters in the near future.

This sleek superyacht with its hollowed out center challenges and revolutionizes the luxury automotive world

Yachts are a synonym with luxury and flight of the fancy, and this incredible-looking concept yacht is all of that with something special that has never been seen in the past. A large void right in the middle just like a hole in the needle.

Lazzarini Design is known for its eccentric future-forward creations, superyachts in particular. Founder Pierpaolo Lazzarini pushes the envelope of design, modeling and engineering with every concept design of his – the latest one being right up there with his best concept ideations. Christened “The Shape” this superyacht breaks all the fundamental rules of sailing and yacht design that we’ve seen so far. It has a gaping hole right in the middle (just like the ones in modern skyscrapers) that serves as the sun deck and a never-before-seen unique visual attraction. How it will address the turbulent seas when the weather is hostile, is a question for another day!

The beastly concept is 69 meters long and having a draft of 3.90 meters yacht offers a living area of 35 meters past the void. It has three decks hidden in the colossal structure – the first floor having the suites, the second one being the shared living space, and the command center on the third. There will be three small pools on the aft deck and a normal-sized beach club if ever it makes it to the real world. Just above the gaping hole is the glass-bottom swimming pool which will be another eye-popping lure on-board.

There’s not much space to give the yacht enough room for things like a big nightclub, cinema room or an expansive gym – but then the huge deck could be used for socializing or enjoying the open view on a sun-baked day or starry night. The Italian design studio doesn’t provide much information on the propulsion system but we assume it is going to be a hybrid propulsion system that is in part powered by the solar panels on the sundeck.

Everything said “The Shape” superyacht will be the preferred toy for billionaires who want to enjoy the calm waters with their close ones. A machine that is good-looking and made for magazine covers – the perfect recipe for people who like to be in the spotlight of things!

This futuristic superyacht doubles up as a floating seaport for other boats & costs $300 million!

Remember that swan-shaped megayacht that was costing $500,000,000 to make? Well, Lazzarini Design Studio is here to wow us again with this 328-foot long (100-meter) superyacht that also doubles up as a private seaport for smaller boats! Elegantly named ‘Saturnia’, this conceptual superyacht is designed to be made entirely with dry carbon fiber structures that will make it 50% lighter than similar-sized vessels and push the top speed up to 30 knots!

the main body of saturnia subdivides into five floors plus the top antenna area. the vessel can be configured into different layouts, accommodating between 10 and 20 guest suites and 20 crew members.

Lazzarini’s concept features an all-around walkable deck area and openings on both sides that lift up to reveal a private port for tenders. tenders with up to 1.5 meters of draft can moor inside the private port or be easily loaded while the yacht is navigating.

the upper part of the openings extend into glass-bottomed decks. inside the centrally-located private port, large sliding windows maximize connection to the outside. meanwhile, the side openings can extend from the upper deck into glass-bottomed lounge areas.

designed with hybrid propulsion, the yacht utilizes twin side diesel engines and a central electronic water jet system, which can push the yacht with zero emissions. Lazzarini Design Studio estimates that the saturnia superyacht concept could be built for $300,000,000 USD in about 30 months.
