Baluchon’s Latest Modern Tiny Trailer Home Has A Quaint And Ingenious Space-Saving Layout

Baluchon’s beautiful Scandinavian-inspired Sauvage model from 2022, inspired a couple to purchase their own little tiny home along the same lines. The couple commissioned Baluchon to create the ‘Sherpa’ – a cozy tiny home with a modern exterior, and a clever space-saving interior layout that can accommodate two people, as well as a pair of guests. The Sherpa is founded on a double-axle trailer and features a length of 20 feet, which is a length typically seen in France.

The 20-foot Sherpa is small compared to North American tiny homes which are much larger. In France, due to the strict towing laws, the homes tend to be pretty small. The exterior of the home is unique, and stands out from most cottage-style tiny homes, as it features red cedar, aluminum accenting, and some not-so-ordinary window placement. The interior of the house is accentuated by a high ceiling and generous glazing. The walls feature a spruce finish, and the entrance leads to the comfy living room which contains a sofa that can be transformed into a bed for guests, as well as some storage space.

The kitchen is adjacent to the living room, and it is quite basic. It is nothing fancy and is equipped with a two-burner propane-powered stove, a sink, as well as a small fridge. These common and not-so-luxurious kitchens are quite typically found in most of Baluchon’s models. The interior of the tiny house is flattered by its generous glazing and high ceiling. The walls are finished in spruce and the entrance opens onto the living room, which includes a sofa that turns into a bed for guests, plus there’s some storage space nearby. The Chicorée Tiny Home Is A Flexible House With Cushy Cabin-Like Interiors

Meet the adorable Chicorée tiny home by Baluchon! It is another spectacular and cozy home by the French firm. It measures only 20 feet in length, and it features a flexible interior layout, which also includes sleeping space for around five people, as well as two separate work areas. The lovely Chicorée is founded on a double-axle trailer, and it has a cedar finish accentuated by an aluminum roof. The home includes a spruce frame, and a mixture of linen, cotton, and hemp insulation, while the interior has a subtle spruce finish.

The power of the tiny home comes from standard RV-style hookup. As visitors enter the living room, they are welcomed by an airy and light-filled space, which is created due to the generous glazing. The majority of this room is occupied by a large sofa bed which can be used as a comfy sleeping area for guests. This room also includes an electric radiator nearby as well as some shelving.

The kitchen is adjacent to this main room. The kitchen doesn’t include a fridge or a proper oven, since the owners didn’t want them, which does seem a bit inconvenient, but this creates loads of free space which is taken up by a large table/desk area. This table area has a view of the kitchen windows and can be used for eating meals and working from home.

The kitchen also includes multiple storage nooks, as well as some cabinetry, a sink, and a three-burner propane-powered stove. The kitchen is also connected to the bathroom which includes a shower, toilet, and additional storage. The upstairs area of the Chicorée can be accessed via an open staircase which is made from oak and steel, instead of the usual ubiquitous storage-interested staircase we see in typical tiny homes these days. The entire upper storey features a low ceiling and has a main sleeping area which hosts a double bed, as well as a smaller sleeping space and play area for a child. The upper storey also accommodates a second home working area which includes a small oak desk that is placed over the living area. This little feature enables the users to sit with their legs dangling down, which seems like a comfier position than crossing your legs for hours on end.

Gaia Tiny House Is Wider & Longer Than Typical Tiny Homes With A Spacious Interior

Named the Gaïa Tiny House, this impressive home by Baluchon is unlike its usual pint-sized dwellings. The home occupies 387 square feet, and it features a spacious interior layout that can easily accommodate a small family, letting them live in absolute comfort. The tiny home is finished in pine, and accentuated with aluminum accenting, creating a subtle and minimal exterior. It is based on a double-axle trailer.

The tiny home has a length of almost 26 feet, making it 6.5 feet longer than Baluchon’s usual tiny homes, which is something to appreciate. It has a width of 11.4 feet, which is an increase and improvement over Baluchon’s usual 8.2 feet. These little adjustments make a massive difference, as they create an apartment-style layout within the home, but this also means the house needs a permit to be towed on the road.

The home is connected to the outdoors via massive glass doors, which also connect to the terrace area, which is yet to be attached. A secondary door is installed on the opposite wall, which allows visitors into the living room. The living room has quite a spacious appeal, and it is equipped with generous glazing, a sofa bed, and a chair. The kitchen is located nearby, and it is arranged in a L-shape while holding a fridge/freezer, oven, sink, two-burner propane-powered stove, shelving, and custom cabinetry. The space also includes a dining table for four people. The kitchen and bathroom are connected through a small sliding door, and the bathroom contains a shower, sink, toilet, and some storage space.

The Gaïa Tiny House accommodates two bedrooms, and both of them are conventional loft spaces with low ceilings. You can access the main bedroom via a storage-integrated staircase, and it includes a double bed, two oak bedside tables, and a long storage unit with drawers. The second bedroom can be accessed through floating stairs that seem to extend from the main staircase. This room includes a single bed and an oak desk study area. Both rooms have a skylight with an integrated electric bind.

This Tiny Home Is The Modern Flexible Office Space You Need

Designed by Baluchon, the Bois Perdus tiny home is a flexible, free-flowing, and light-filled space that serves as a towable dwelling. One of the focal points of the home is its flexibility, allowing it to function as a tranquil office that can support the owner’s crafting hobby, and letting it eventually function as a full-time home as well. Bois Perdus is French for Lost Woods, and it is founded on a double-axle trailer, with a length of 20 feet.

The tiny house is finished in a red cedar, adorned with an aluminum roof and accenting, and accentuated with loads of glazing, which fills the home with natural light. As you enter the home, you are welcomed by the living room which holds a sofa, a tiny loft for storage, and a small wood-burning stove, that can heat the entire home. The kitchen is located next to the living room, or it will be in the future, as currently the home only functions as a home office. The intended space for the kitchen is occupied by a desk for the owner.

A small crafting area has also been fitted underneath the storage-integrated staircase, and it holds a sewing machine and some shelving. The bathroom is located on the opposite side of the living room, and it is equipped with a shower, sink, and toilet, as well as a window to allow natural light inside. The home only accommodates one bedroom, which you can access via the storage-integrated staircase. The bedroom is a conventional loft-style space, with not much headroom. It does have a double bed and a pair of nightstands.

In the future, there are plans to move the Bois Perdus full-time, letting it function as a well-equipped home that will meet the owner’s needs and requirements. But at the moment, it is a work-focused tiny house that serves as a peaceful oasis where the owner can wrap up his workload.

Idyllic Little Home With A Porch Reading Area Looks Straight Out Of A Classic Novel

Most tiny homes nowadays tend to be contemporary-style dwellings outfitted with modern amenities. They may not be luxurious, but they are comfortable in a functional way, and they meet all your basic requirements. Baluchon is known for its quaint contemporary-style homes, however, it designed a traditional tiny house design that takes us right back to the nascent days of the micro-living movement. Called the Miss Twain Tiny House, this home measures 20 feet and is adorned with an idyllic little porch reading area.

Named after famous author Mark Twain (the owner is an avid reader and a long-time fan) the Miss Twin Tiny Home is founded on a double-axle trailer, and accentuated with a red cedar finish, and an aluminum roof. The tiny home is on the smaller, more compact size, and is almost half the size of typical North American models. The porch is quite compact but has adequate space for a chair. The porch also leads to the living room, which is fitted with a sofa bed for guests, a coffee table, a wood-burning stove, and an operable table.

The kitchen is adjacent to the living room, and it features a sink, fridge, drop-down table for two, two-burner propane-powered stove, microwave, and some cabinetry. The kitchen is also equipped with a large storage unit. From the kitchen we move on to a small bathroom which is quite basic, containing only a shower and a toilet. The bathroom doesn’t have a wash basin, which is quite inconvenient, and users will need to wash their hands in the kitchen sink, which doesn’t rate it high on the hygiene factor.

The Miss Twin Tiny Home features two loft spaces, with the larger loft room functioning as a bedroom, and is accessible via a ladder. It has a low ceiling and double bed, much like most loft-style rooms in tiny homes. The second loft room is intended for storage and is placed over the living room. You can access it via a removable ladder as well.

Baluchon Fits An Entire Tiny Home On One Level To Save Space

Dubbed the Eucalyptus, this thoughtfully designed tiny home is one of Baluchon’s latest tiny homes. It is based on a double-axle trailer and features a length of 22 feet, which is almost 3.2 feet longer than Baluchon’s typical models. Most tiny homes today feature storage-integrated staircases and loft-style bedrooms with low ceilings, Baluchon has instead designed a home with everything tucked away into one level, which makes everything accessible, but also means that everything had to be snugly fit together.

Since the Eucalyptus does not have a loft-style bedroom, this allows the home to have some extra length in comparison to most of Baluchon’s models. But it is still not considered extremely long. The compact little home is clad in red cedar, and has a spruce frame, with insulation made from linen, hemp, and recycled cotton. As you enter the home via double glass doors, you are welcomed into the kitchen, which forms a major section of the center of the home. The kitchen includes an oven, a propane-powered two-burner stove, a small fridge, a sink, and custom cabinetry. A dining table is also located close to the kitchen, and it can be moved aside to free up floor space when needed.

The bathroom is placed next to the kitchen, and you can enter it via a sliding wooden door. The bathroom contains a shower, toilet, and storage units to hold clothing. It also features a large operable window, allowing fresh air into the space. The other side of the house holds the living room, which accommodates shelving, an electric radiator, and a sofa bed, allowing the space to also double up as a bedroom. The living room is also adorned with blackout blinds, which offer privacy.

The Eucalyptus was built for an owner in Normandy, Northern France, and it was designed to function as his main home. We’re unaware of the tiny home’s exact pricing, however, Baluchon homes usually start around US$84,000, so you could take that as a ballpark figure.

This Tiny Home Is Tinier Than Most Tiny Homes & Inspired By Japanese Space-Saving Styling

French firm Baluchon is known for its elegant, well-designed, and functional tiny homes that look super adorable on the outside while managing to be ingenious and efficient on the inside. And their latest model dubbed Bonzai is no exception! In a world where tiny homes are reigning supreme, the Bonzai is a smartly designed and lovely-looking little entrant. And trust me, this tiny home is quite little, even by tiny home standards. Measuring only 4.5 meters, the Bonzai tiny home is equipped with Japanese-inspired styling both internally and externally. Its compact and diminutive size also signifies that it is quite portable, and a space-saving structure.

Based on a double-axle trailer, the Bonzai tiny home is finished in a warm red cedar, accentuated by an aluminum roof, and spruce inside. The insulation for the home is a mixture of linen, hemp, and cotton, and there’s also a handy ladder attached to the exterior to offer quick access to the compact-sized rooftop deck. If you’re still unable to grasp the tininess of Bonzai, then you may like to know that it is half the length of a conventional North American tiny house, for example, the Raven – check it out for some perspective!

The entry point of the home is into the bathroom which is quite simple and amped with basic amenities such as a toilet and a shower. Adjacent to the bathroom is the kitchen, which is also quite compact, and equipped with a sink, a two-burner stove unit, and a fridge. Although, it is commendable that the kitchen has more storage space than anticipated for a small kitchen such as this. It also contains a pantry drawer and a pull-out table. The tiny home includes only one other room which can be entered via a shoji-style sliding door, and this room functions as a multipurpose living room and includes a generous amount of storage such as underfloor drawers and overhead lockers.

The room also includes a drop-down dining table, a wood-burning stove, and some shelving. A unique feature of the home is a home cinema setup with a soundbar, projector, and pull-down screen that makes a great space for some cozy movie nights. Sadly, there is no bedroom in the Bonzai, and nor does it accommodate a bed. This can be quite inconvenient. However, the owner rolls out a futon on the floor when he’s ready for bed.
