Logitech revamps their popular X Plus Gaming Mouse with a ‘Millenium Falcon’ Edition

For that extremely small subset of people who thought the Logitech G502 X Plus gaming mouse wasn’t perfect enough, the company’s managed to outdo itself with an even better version of its wildly popular wireless mouse. Now sporting the graphics of the Millenium Falcon from the Star Wars franchise, this new edition of the X Plus gaming mouse will be difficult to look away from. It’s difficult to talk about the X Plus’ features without highlighting the new variant’s design. I’d say the edgy aesthetic of a gaming mouse lends itself rather naturally to a sci-fi spaceship, but this one really takes the cake. The top fascia comes with a white and gray color scheme, punctuated with red accents and a pattern that echoes the iconic Millennium Falcon. Underneath, a hidden rebellion logo sits above the Hero 25K sensor, offering sub-micron accuracy and zero smoothing, filter, or acceleration – as precise and reliable as a Jedi’s lightsaber.

Logitech hasn’t overlooked the ambiance, either. The G502 X Plus Millennium Falcon Edition features 8-zone RGB lighting, capable of displaying a full spectrum of colors with custom Millennium Falcon-inspired animations. These animations, alongside the option for media-driven effects and advanced personalization, are accessible through the Logitech G Hub software. The LIGHTSYNC RGB not only adds a dynamic aesthetic to your gaming setup but also includes power-saving play detection to ensure efficiency.

At its core, the G502 X Plus Millennium Falcon Edition is a high-performance tool designed for the elite gamer. With a range of 100 – 25,600 dpi and a 400 IPS max speed, it promises precision and responsiveness that would make even Han Solo envious. The integration of Logitech’s first Lightforce hybrid optical-mechanical switches means users get the best of both worlds: the swift actuation of optical switches combined with the tactile satisfaction of mechanical ones.

The mouse also includes 13 programmable controls, allowing users to customize their gaming experience fully. For those long gaming sessions, the battery life stands robust, offering 120 hours of constant motion (37 hours with RGB on), ensuring that the only breaks taken are voluntary.

The mouse pairs with computers using Logitech’s pro-grade Lightspeed protocol (a hat-tip to the space-warping lightspeed travel system seen in the Star Wars movies). Designed to work without wires, the Lightspeed system is tournament-tested, with a response time that’s a whopping 68% faster than Logitech’s previous protocols.

To complete the intergalactic experience, Logitech offers the Return of the Jedi Collection XL gaming mouse pads. Whether you choose the Battle of Endor or Darth Vader version, your desk will transform into a battleground of epic proportions.

Priced at $159.99, the Millenium Falcon-edition mouse is a premium offering for those looking to add a piece of the galaxy to their gaming setup… and for an additional $59.99 each, the themed mouse pads can further elevate your space.

Corsair Puts An Entire Keypad On Its Latest Wireless Mouse for Shortcut-Loving Gamers and Professionals

The Scimitar Elite was announced in 2020 as a zero-compromise wired gaming mouse. Three years later, it gets its biggest upgrade in the form of a wireless-enabled design with 12 programmable keys underneath your thumb, practically rendering your left hand useless.

With a total of 16 keys built into its design, the Scimitar Elite isn’t your average wireless mouse. It’s designed for precision, complexity, and functionality all wrapped up in one ergonomic package that keeps you firing on all cylinders without pausing to do so much as sip some coffee. The Scimitar Elite Wireless MMO Gaming Mouse is a productivity beast, with its highly responsive hardware that minimizes any kind of lag, and a 12-button keypad right underneath your thumb that can be programmed to either switch between weapons or toggle features within gameplay or trigger macros and shortcuts in work apps and software for a streamlined workflow.

Keeping hyper-functionality in mind, the Scimitar Elite boasts an edgy yet ergonomically sound design that’s a pleasure to hold, with curves that fit perfectly in the palms of your hands, textured grips and scroll wheels for reliable use, as well as an adjustable slider that lets you position those 12 shortcut keys to fit the length of your thumb and your overall mouse gripping style. In signature gaming style, the mouse sports a matte all-black design, barring the RGB-LED elements in the keypad and the rest of the mouse that give it a distinct glow, making it visible in the low-light settings associated with hardcore gaming or editing.

The mouse has a grand total of 16 programmable buttons, with the ability to create multiple profiles that you can quickly toggle between. It all happens within Corsair’s iCUE software that lets you program macros and remap buttons for different use-cases. Whether it’s in a game or in a 3D/graphic/video software, the different keys and custom layouts has you covered so you can do all the work with your dominant hand. Looking for precision and responsiveness? Optical switches eliminate debounce delay for the most accurately tactile clicking experience, while the ultra-accurate Corsair MARKSMAN  optical sensor has a sensitivity of 26000DPI to give you the most precise control over your cursor. The Scimitar Elite connects to devices via Bluetooth, although it’s best paired using its USB receiver that runs on Corsair’s SLIPSTREAM protocol, hyper-polling at a whopping 2000Hz for sub-1ms speeds.

Although built to be wireless, the mouse does also support wired use. For wireless users, however, you’ve got a whopping 150-hour battery life that makes it a compelling choice to begin with, with a 100% full charge in just 90 minutes.

Ultra-Lightweight Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition gaming mouse impresses with a see-through exoskeleton shell

Razer kick-started 2023 with a slew of announcements at CES 2023 that got us excited. Yet, again they are amping up the buzz with a gaming mouse as a follow-up to the Viper V2 Pro wireless mouse which is the lightest mouse ever by the gaming brand.

Now a skeletonized gaming mouse beats it fair and square for pure looks and functionality. The innards of the mouse are clearly visible and they are also made out of premium material, keeping inline with the USP.

Designer: Razer

Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition wireless mouse made out of magnesium alloy using injection molding technology, claims to be the lightest performance gaming mouse weighting in at just 49 grams. The industry-leading features of the peripheral come at a steep price of $279.99 which will keep gamers on a budget longing for more.

The excellent strength-to-weight ratio courtesy of the unique honeycomb design, makes sure this gaming accessory doesn’t crumble or crack during intense in-game action. The fact is reassured by Razer who claim that each one of the limited-edition mouse is perfect when it comes out of the factory. Viper Mini Signature Edition employs the company’s Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor (max DPI of 30,000), HyperSpeed Wireless tech, and the Gen-3 mouse switches for satisfactory performance even for digital content editors.

Gamers will like the 70 G acceleration, 99.8% resolution accuracy, and 750 inches per second IPS for in-game advantage while in the middle of video game chaos. It comes with a HyperPolling Wireless dongle tweaked at 4000Hz polling rates and 2C charge rating for juicing up the wireless peripheral in just 90 minutes. One single charge is good enough for 60 hours of work promising an enhanced user experience sans any wire clutter.

Given the mouse is on the premium end of the spectrum, Razer provides an extra set of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 mouse feet for use on a soft mat. There are a couple of sets of adhesive mouse grips, an alternate set of PTFE feet and two alcohol prep pads whenever you need to make the swap for those adhesive feet and grips. To top it all Razer Viper Mini Signature Edition gets a 3-year warranty to cover all the shenanigans while gameplay or carefree usage.

Lexip Np93 mouse makes your thumb more useful by giving it a joystick

At long last, your thumb will finally be able to earn its keep on a mouse and give gamers a slight advantage over their rivals, at least until they find out about this mouse.

Despite being one of the most-used input devices for computers, the mouse hasn’t changed drastically in the past decades. It has kept the same basic shape, which is now regarded to be non-ergonomic by default, and it pretty much relies on one finger and one finger only. That means that most of your other fingers are left unused and underutilized, but one mouse will try to give at least your thumb an exercise, hopefully to your advantage.

Designer: Pixminds

Apple was probably onto something when it decided that its first-party mice would have only one button. Even with two buttons and a mouse wheel that also functions as a third button, only the index and middle fingers really ever get used. Of course, that does mean that even Apple’s mouse puts all the responsibility and stress on one or two fingers, leaving the rest to just lie around. There are, of course, computer mice with extra buttons at the side, but one company is taking that idea to the next level.

Pixminds designed the Lexip Np93 Alpha to add more input options for gamers and give the thumb something to do beyond pressing buttons. A thumb joystick that can move in two axes provides more actions than even the most button-laden gaming mouse can provide, especially since this one still has extra buttons to boot. The company boasts 12 programmable buttons, which is no small matter considering how complicated modern games have become these days.

That thumbstick isn’t the only advantage the Lexip Np93 Alpha has, however. The mouse is also designed to offer comfort beyond what typical gaming mice can. In particular, the mouse comes with six ceramic feet to let it glide smoothly on any surface, and weight adjusters let users tweak the mouse’s weight to their preference. The mouse is also noted to use soft coating, oil painting, and doubly-injected rubber that adds both tactile comfort as well as aesthetic appeal.

The Lexip Np93 Alpha also has the customary RGB lighting that you can configure through the mouse’s accompanying software. Considering the flexibility and comfort it offers, it’s also surprising that it isn’t asking that much as far as its $40 selling price is concerned.

Endless hours of gaming? The Zephyr Pro mouse comes with its own inbuilt fan to keep your palms cool

Sweaty palms after an intense round of Fortnite or GTA or whatever it is everyone’s playing these days? Wouldn’t it be nice if your mouse also had a fan to keep your hand cool as you gamed? That’s practically the business pitch of Marsback’s Zephyr Pro gaming mouse.

The Zephyr Pro comes with an ergonomic form and a hollow cage design that makes it lightweight and breathable… but that’s not all. The mouse even comes fitted with its own cooling fan underneath the cage, constantly pushing a breeze of cool air to keep your palms from getting sweaty (Eminem would approve). For added flair, the fan comes with RGB LED backlights, creating a ‘light-show’ that one can only come to expect from gaming hardware.

Designer: Marsback

The Zephyr Pro is the spiritual successor to Marsback’s Zephyr gaming mouse, which garnered support from over 700 backers on Kickstarter around July last year. Touted as a ‘sweatproof’ mouse, the hardware may be targeted towards gamers, but it serves its purpose for pretty much anyone who works long hours (WFH, am I right?) The upgraded design’s made to be quieter and less prone to vibration than its predecessor. It comes with customizable RGB lighting, and is powered by the Pixart 3389 Sensor that gives you a sensitivity range between 100 to 16,000 DPI. You can calibrate the RGB lights and your mouse’s sensitivity to fit your needs, and the Zephyr Pro’s onboard memory remembers your settings every time.

The mouse comes in 2 colors – black or white – although the RGB lights make up by offering 16.8 million colors to choose from (customizable via a software that lets you even create custom key-binds, macros, and profiles). The mouse weighs a mere 65g, making it even lighter than the Makalu 67 – even though that didn’t have a fan, and comes with a durable construction, featuring OMRON switches that are good for 50 million clicks, PTFE footpads that travel smoothly on surfaces without damaging them, and a high-grade paracord cable that’s both durable as well as low-friction, allowing you to glide your mouse across your table with sheer ease.

Don’t eat Cheetos while gaming with this lightweight ‘hollow’ mouse

The Makalu 67 is an incredibly lightweight gaming mouse that weighs a mere 67 grams, thanks to its unique ‘ribcage’ outer body. However, it’s also notoriously difficult to clean if you’re the kind to snack on stuff while you game. The mouse’s outer shell comes with a grille-like design that helps provide strength while reducing mass… and I’ll say, it’s definitely really unique looking.

Designed and calibrated for hardcore gamers who want their gear to be as lightweight/maneuverable as possible (while being durable too), the Makalu 67 comes from MOUNTAIN, a tech company known for their gaming gear. Most mice come with organic, ergonomic, monolithic designs, but the Makalu 67 breaks that with a body that’s parametrically perforated to provide strength with less material. Just like a ribcage protects your vital organs without necessarily being one massive block of bone, Makalu 67’s ‘ribcage’ design conceals the tech within, while reducing a significant amount of material.

The Makalu 67 comes with a PAW3370 sensor for high accuracy, offering up to 19000 DPI, with the ability to change the resolution too, using a button right at the top. An RGB ring around the scroll lets you easily customize your mouse’s aesthetic, choosing from up to 16.7 million RBG colors. However, that patented ribcage design is perhaps its most standout element. Not only does it allow the mouse to be lightweight, it keeps your hands cool while you game too, allowing air to flow across your palms so they never get sweaty. The only problem is accidentally using the mouse with dirty or wet hands, and then being left with something that’s virtually impossible to clean. That means no Cheetos, Doritos, or Pringles around this bad-boy… and it’s best if you kept your beer or soft-drink away from it too. If the price for that sacrifice is a better gaming experience with more kills/victories, I think a bunch of gamers would be willing to make that sacrifice.
