Get half off a refurbished Native Instruments Maschine MK3 for Black Friday

Reverb has refurbished Native Instruments Maschine MK3 units on sale now for half off the sticker price in an early Black Friday sale. The device’s interface is friendly to beginner and advanced beatmakers, providing music-making software and hardware in one package. Typically costing $599 new, Reverb’s “great quality” refurbs of the standalone groovebox cost $299 and come with a 90-day warranty.

NI describes the Maschine line as “whatever you want it to be — a standalone groovebox, a compact drum machine, a versatile synthesiser, or a fully fledged production system.” It can create entire songs on the device or pair it with a desktop DAW like Logic Pro or Ableton for finer tuning after laying down a foundation on the all-in-one controller.

The standalone system includes a sampler, arranger, mixer and “pro-quality” FX like a filter, EQ, delay, reverb and compressor. Its built-in sounds include thousands of drum kits, synth presets and loops, and it supports up to 12 expansions. On the device’s face are 16 “ultra-sensitive” drum pads, two color displays, touch-sensitive knobs, a smart strip, and more.

The Maschine MK3 is compatible with Mac (10.13 or higher) and Windows (7 and up) using a bundled USB 2.0 cable.

Reverb says its refurbished models are cleaned and tested as fully operational, and they include a 90-day warranty in case you run into any problems. The online retailer also accepts returns within seven days of delivery — but only if it’s “lost, damaged, or doesn’t match its description.” (So don’t expect Reverb to accept a buyer’s remorse return if the Maschine MK3 works as advertised but doesn’t quite do it for you.)

Apple’s 10.2-inch iPad drops to $249 in an early Black Friday deal

Apple’s 9th-gen entry-level iPad is on sale as part of an early Black Friday Amazon deal. You can snag the tablet for $249, instead of the usual price of $329. That’s a savings of $80 and constitutes a discount of nearly 25 percent. This is the best price we’ve seen all year for Apple’s tablet.

This is the standard 10.2-inch iPad design that’s been around since, well, forever. Despite lacking some of the more advanced features of the iPad Pro and some of the portability of the iPad Air, this model still offers plenty of bang for your buck. There’s a reason, after all, that it made our list of best tablets in 2023, even with stiff competition.

This model ships with 64GB of storage, an A13 Bionic chip and a decent battery that lasts a full day of use before requiring a trip to the outlet. The speakers are a bit janky but, wait for it, the 9th-gen iPad actually has a bona-fide headphone jack. The cameras are nothing spectacular, but tablets have never been on the cutting edge of image capturing tech, due to their increased size when compared to smartphones.

The A13 Bionic chip is capable but lacks some of the oomph of Apple’s newer chipsets, like the M1 and above. Even with the relatively ancient chipset, this iPad boasts more than enough speed for casual tasks. It also integrates with first-party accessories like Apple’s Smart Keyboard and the first-gen stylus. At $249, this is a great deal for those looking for a simple tablet to watch movies on and peruse the web.

Walmart Black Friday deals 2023: Save on the Apple Watch Series 9, AirPods, and Roku devices

Walmart has already kicked off its Black Friday sale. That's good news for anyone who wants to spend the day after Thanksgiving doing something other than shopping. The early Black Friday deals went live online today — Walmart+ members get a few hours of early access before everyone else — and will hit physical stores this Friday.

We've unearthed the best tech deals from this portion of Walmart's Black Friday sale and gathered them here so you can start ticking gifts off your holiday list — or grab something for yourself at a discount. The highlights are probably the brand new Apple Watch Series 9 for $349 and the second-generation AirPods for $69 — both are all-time lows.

Apple Watch Series 9

If you've been waiting to get Apple's brand new flagship smartwatch, your patience has paid off. The Apple Watch Series 9 is down to $349 for the 41mm, GPS-only model, and Amazon is matching that price as well. That's a $50 discount and the lowest price yet for the barely-two-month-old wearable. If you'd prefer a little more room on the screen, you can go for the 45mm case size for $379, also $50 and a new low price. The biggest improvement this time around is the S9 processor. It allows for a new Double Tap feature and onboard Siri processing for faster responses to your queries. It's also got a brighter screen and, when paired with the Sport Loop, is carbon neutral. We gave the wearable a solid score of 92 in our review, praising the new features and the comprehensive fitness and health tracking.

Apple AirPods (second gen)

The second-generation AirPods are now on sale for $69, which is a $90 discount and their lowest price ever, thanks to Walmart's sale. You can find them for the same price at Amazon as well. They are a little older at this point; we gave them a review score of 84 when they came out back in 2019. But they're a good pick for someone who needs a knock-around pair of buds that pair seamlessly with an iPhone. Some people even prefer the smooth fit of the older model, which is more like Apple's wired EarPods. To be sure, both the third-generation AirPods and the new, second-generation AirPods Pro have seen significant improvements in both sound quality and features like noise cancellation, Spatial Audio and Transparency mode. The newer buds may make more sense for audiophiles, but at this price, the second-generation AirPods will make a nice stocking stuffer for an iPhone user.

Canon EOS R50

We tested out the Canon EOS R50 mirrorless camera when it came out earlier this year and gave it an 87. During the early Black Friday sale, it's $180 off, which is a new all-time low. We think this is a great camera for street photographers or travelers because it has a slim and light design and is capable of shooting 4K video. It offers fast shooting, has a reliable auto-focus and takes great images — particularly for the price point. And now that it's on sale, you'll be hard pressed to find a higher quality hybrid camera that can do pretty much everything vloggers and photographers need.

Sony WF-C500 earbuds

Sony's WF-C500 earbuds are 70 percent off right now, which makes them $29 instead of $100. That's a pretty great price, though the buds are about two years old at this point. Still, they're our favorite budget pair of wireless headphones for working out. They were one of the lightest pair of earbuds we tested and though they have a more bulbous design, they were still comfortable. While they don't have active noise cancellation, the shape does a good job of passively blocking out most sounds (but traffic noises still get through, which is important for outdoor workouts).

Roku Ultra LT

The Roku Ultra LT is 57 percent off thanks to the Walmart Black Friday sale. We're fans of Roku streaming devices and recommend the Ultra set top box in our guide. The Ultra LT is a Walmart exclusive version that has a less-expensive starting price and a few tradeoffs over the regular Ultra. There's a slightly different remote on the LT, that lacks to personalization buttons and there's no Bluetooth connectivity and it lacks a USB port in the back of the set top box. But you still get one of the best smart TV interfaces plus support for 4K video and Dolby Vision. Plus at this price, it's $65 cheaper than the other version.

A PS5 early Black Friday deal brings PlayStation DualSense controllers down to $50 each

The PlayStation Store at Amazon is selling various colors of the Playstation DualSense Wireless Controller for only $50 as part of its early Black Friday deals. You can get the controller for your PS5, which also works for PCs, right now for up to 33 percent off their usual prices. Yes, the models on sale include the colors that typically go for $75 — Cosmic Red, Starlight Blue, Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, Gray Camouflage, Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue — in addition to the basic $70 white and the Midnight Black controllers.

The DualSense controller has adaptive L2 and R2 triggers with varying levels of force and tension that change as you interact with your game's environment. It also comes with haptic feedback meant to add a layer of immersion to your gaming sessions. DualSense has a built-in microphone array, so you can chat with friends without a headset, though you can always plug one in through the controller's 3.5mm jack. And if you quickly want switch voice capture on or off, you can simply click the controller's dedicated mute button.

In case you've still yet to buy a PS5, or if you're looking to gift one these holidays, you can get one bundled with Marvel's Spider-Man 2 at a discount, as well. The bundle is selling for $500, down $60 from its regular price. We enjoyed Spider-Man 2 when we reviewed it and found it even better than the first installment. It was action-packed from the beginning, with a gameplay that allows you to quickly swap between Peter Parker and Miles Morales for two different types of Spidey-experiences. We also praised Insomniac for expanding and streamlining the game's combat mechanics. The game is exclusive to the PS5, and you'll get a full game voucher to download it from the PlayStation Network when you purchase this bundle.

Google creates a brand new hub for shopping deals

The holiday season might be the most wonderful time of the year, but it's arguably also the most expensive. Ahead of the mad dash to find the best presents for the lowest prices, Google is attempting to undo some of that financial load with the launch of its new deals hub. Now, if you type in "shop deals" on Google, the search engine will bring you to a page filled with markdowns on categories like electronics and apparel.

If you're looking for a specific type of item, you can Google something like "shop headphone deals" and see promotions for that product. Displayed items should come from a range of sources, including big box stores, luxury brands, and local shops. Google will also show items based on what you've browsed for in the past while signed into your account. Plus, if you've looked at a certain shirt or a watch, for instance, it might appear in your "resume browsing" card alongside any current promotions on it.

Google is also coming for extensions like Honey and Capital One Shopping, with a new discount tag icon right in the Chrome address bar. Click on the button, and, just like with the others, you'll get a list of coupon codes for the site you're currently shopping on.

Plus, Google is providing more tracking information to monitor whether a price is above average — or has recently dropped. Participating sites will have a "shopping insights" label in the address bar that you can click on to view an item's 90-day price history. This chart could give you an idea of whether the item goes on sale frequently or if its sticker price has dropped recently. You can also click the bell icon on Search for mobile to receive push and email notifications when a product goes on sale. Bookmark the item instead if you're shopping on Chrome from your computer.

Logitech gaming accessories are up to 50 percent off in early Black Friday sale

Black Friday is still a couple of weeks away, but the sales are already starting. Take Logitech, which has markdowns on lots of its best devices on Amazon, including the G733 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset. The well-made and stylish headphones (we named them one of the cutest gaming accessories) are currently $120, down from $150 — a 20 percent discount.

Logitech's G733 headset backs up its good looks with powerful sound, a 20-meter range and up to 29 hours of battery life. Plus, its stretchy band and interchangeable earbud tips give you a comfortable, easy fit.

Among the many other Logitech mice, keyboards and headphones currently for sale, there are a few other stand outs to look into. The G Fits True Wireless Gaming Earbuds are down to $150 from $230 — a 35 percent discount. These are a great option if you just can't get earbuds to stay in your ear, with Logitech's Lightform technology molding the device to your ear in just one minute upon first use. They also come with 10mm drivers, dual built-in beamforming microphones and passive noise canceling.

OK, enough about listening — let's talk about the tools you need for gameplay. The G Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse is currently marked down 38 percent, dropping to $80 from $130. Logitech built the mouse with input from professional esports gamers, and it shows, touting features like a 1-millisecond report rate connection and up to 25,600 DPI. Looking for a cheap entry point into Logitech's devices? Try the G203 Wired Gaming Mouse, down to $20 from $40 — a 50 percent discount.

Logitech's G915 Lightspeed RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard rounds out some of our favorites on sale with a 36 percent price cut, making the device available for $160 instead of $250. The wireless keyboard provides 30 hours of gameplay and 16.8 million color options. Plus, you can choose between three distinct sounds for your perfect level of clacking.

Brümate’s early Black Friday sale knocks 25 percent off drinkware

Brümate is holding an early Black Friday sale, offering 25 percent off most drinkware sets, including the well-regarded Hopsulator Trio. The deals start today and end on November 7, so you have some time to think about which insulated cups catch your fancy. Once you decide, just enter the code “Cyber25” at checkout. As an example, this sale brings the price of the Hopsulator Trio down to $23.50 from $30.

Brümate makes insulated and leak-proof cups that keep liquids at their desired temperature until you’re done pushing the stuff through your gullet. The insulation here is certainly on point, which is why the company’s products made our list of the best gifts for coffee lovers.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, we put the Hopsulator Trio on our lists of the best outdoor gifts for dads and the best grilling gear, as the integrated insulation keeps cold beers cold even on the hottest of summer days. However, the Hopsulator is just for cans, though the company offers plenty of products to please devotees of loose liquid. Some of them could even serve as a decent container for a lunch stew or soup, so it’s a win/win.

Again, the sale ends on November 7. If you’re in the market for some insulated and leak-proof cups, now’s your time to shine. The cups and containers range in size from 12 ounces all the way to 40 ounces, for those looking to replicate the joy of slurping down a Big Gulp.

Solo Stove’s Black Friday deals include up to $245 off fire pit bundles

Can you smell it? Black Friday is rapidly approaching, and some companies have already begun the onslaught of sales. Solo Stove, for instance, has just cut the ribbon on its annual Black Friday sale, offering discounts on numerous fire pits and related items and accessories. The biggest discount here is for the Ranger Backyard Bundle 2.0, which now costs $320 instead of $465. That’s a savings of $145. The Yukon 2.0 bundle goes even further, with a discount of $245.

These bundles include a next-gen fire pit, a marked improvement over the original, along with plenty of accessories, like the new base plate and ash pan. You also get a stand, a lid, a weather-resistant enclosure and even a carrying case for those BBQ-driven beach trips.

We praised the removable base plate and ash pan with the 2.0 series, as these tools eliminated the messy cleanup process involved with previous releases. We also enjoyed the proprietary 360-degree airflow technology, allowing for an efficient burn for long periods of time. As a matter of the fact, the only significant downside here is the normal price, and this sale helps to alleviate those concerns.

The fire pit bundles are not the only discount available via Solo Stove’s Black Friday sale, though they are the most significant. You can grab the well-regarded Pi Prime pizza oven for $300, a savings of $50. If you are filled to the brim with fire pit accessories, you can also buy the Ranger 2.0 by itself for $200 instead of $230.
