Dwarf Factory’s ArtiSANTA Keycaps Are an Excellent Stocking Stuffer

It’s only been a week since Halloween! What’re all these Christmas (and other related holiday decorations) doing on my neighbor’s front lawn? Where did the summer go, for crying out loud? If I have no choice but to accept the season’s greetings, I’ll do it my own way: by replacing a few keycaps on my gaming keyboard with three miniature snow globes containing all the typical Yuletide treasures. That’s the idea behind Dwarf Factory’s latest invention, anyway. These ArtiSANTA keycaps from Dwarf Factory are bright, festive, and adorable — all traits any true gamer would want their gaming keyboard to have, as the weather turns cold and the holiday cheer turns… uh… warm.

Designer: Dwarf Factory

The AntiSANTA keycaps are not exactly compatible with every keyboard on the market. At least, it doesn’t seem so, given what’s advertised on their store page. But as long as you have a clicky, tactile, or linear keyboard with Cherry MX switches, you should be alright. You can stick these three keycaps anywhere on your keyboard you’d like, giving it a handmade decorative flair — befitting a festive ornament that looks like it belongs on your tree. Or on your mantle. Or, anywhere else you might stick festive holiday decorations.

These handmade keycaps come in packs of three, and each one is a little bit different. There’s the Yule Tree, the Père Noel (basically, Santa Claus), and Frosty the Snowman. Look closely enough, you’ll see how each piece features a handful of intricate details, like ornamental string lights and miniature holiday gifts. It’s disappointing there are only three per pack, but that’s just because they look so good.

If you’re shopping for the gamer in your life, these are only going for $49 per pack, and that’s a holiday miracle if there ever was one. They’re perfect for stocking stuffers or even just trinkets to have around in a gaming room. Now if only the holidays would get here sooner (so we can get back to that summer weather much sooner).

This LEGO Snow Globe with the Lo-Fi Girl inside is Peak Holiday Wholesomeness!

It’s truly amazing what people can do with the right combination of LEGO bricks. From building Bugattis to functioning calendars, the bricks have an unmatched versatility, and just in time for the holidays, LEGO-builder BrickAbe came up with yet another perfect LEGO project – a functioning snow-globe! The cherry on the cake, however, is that this snow globe also features YouTube’s most well-known fictional character, the anime girl from the LoFi Girl YouTube channel, known for her endless streams of great downtempo music.

Designer: BrickAbe

The Lo-Fi Girl Snowglobe is an interactive mechanical toy that features elements of Christmas along with the popular LoFi girl character, seen writing in a notebook with headphones on, with a laptop and a lazy ginger cat becoming a standard fixture in the background. BrickAbe’s globe captures these elements beautifully, turning the album art into a full LEGO-based diorama with a ground and first floor. The first floor becomes LoFi girl’s study, while the ground floor transforms into a living room during Christmas season, complete with gifts, and a decked up Christmas tree that rotates when you crank the lever outside!

The entire construction is incredibly wholesome, capturing the Christmas spirit in a rather adorable way. The diorama sits on a red platform that comes with its own Yuletide motifs, including stockings and presents, while being covered with a clear bell jar that is capped off with a snowflake on top!

“My greatest escape with Lo-Fi Hip Hop comes around the holidays. I feel very relaxed sitting next to a glowing fireplace, under a warm blanket, with Lo-Fi music playing in the background,” BrickAbe mentioned. “The idea for the snow globe came from a drawing I made a while back for #lofigirlchristmas. You can see this drawing displayed right above the fireplace. I created a charming loft apartment inside, decorated with holiday joy and Lofi Girl references!”

Baby Yoda Glitter Globe Sets a Snowy Star Wars Scene

We’ve yet to visit any planets on The Mandalorian where it’s snowing. But maybe it’s just that none of the scenes so far have taken place in the wintertime. Regardless, I think The Child aka Baby Yoda aka Grogu would enjoy catching snowflakes on his little tongue in between gulping down frog eggs. If you like the idea of a snowy Baby Yoda too, then check out this official Star Wars The Child Glitter Globe.

The collectible is based on Grogu’s hover pram, only he’s inside of a crystal clear bubble. It’s sort of like a space helmet, only filled with water and shiny, snow-like glitter. I wonder if it’s cold inside there. And how does he breathe? I guess we could ask that question about every planet in the Star Wars universe. It seems like there’s oxygen, or whatever these characters breathe, readily available in the proper amount from Tatooine to Hoth. But I digress. Isn’t Baby Yoda just the cutest?

The Child Glitter Globe sells for $89.99 (or one ingot of Beskar Steel) from The Bradford Exchange. It’s currently sold out, but they expect to start shipping again in late November, just in time for the Christmas rush.

A Snow Globe, Except It Doesn’t Snow on Mars

In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Get your ass to Mars!” Now you can, each and every day with this awesome desk toy inspired by the dust storms on the red planet.

Created by toy designer Dan Abramson, the Mars Dust Globe offers a truly unique take on the classic snow globe. Instead of white fluffy stuff, when you shake this 4″ orb, you get a storm of red dust. And when the dust settles, you’ll see a pair of astronauts, one old and one young, holding hands against the rocky red landscape.

This looks like an awesome gift for anyone with an interest in space exploration, or a unique addition to a snow globe collection. It’s available over at UncommonGoods for $35.

Wampa and Space Slug Snow Globes: From The Empire Strikes Back Souvenir Shop

Despite numerous Star Wars films being released in the 3+ decades since its release, The Empire Strikes Back is still the best movie in the saga for many of us. Sure, The Force Awakens was very good, but it’s a tall hill to climb to best the 1980 classic.

In recognition of this fact, ThinkGeek has released a couple of fun Episode V collectible snow globes, and they’re both pretty awesome. First up is the Wampa Cave snow globe.

It recreates a the classic scene in an icy cave on Hoth, as Luke hangs upside-down by his boots, while he attempts to use the Force to pull his lightsaber from the snow. He eventually breaks free, and slices off the wampa’s arm, but in the snow globe version, he’s permanently stuck in the ceiling, and isn’t going anywhere. At least unless you crack it open with a hammer – which I don’t recommend.

The other scene isn’t quite as snow-appropriate, but nonetheless is just as awesome – as the Millennium Falcon breaks free from giant Exogorth Space Slug. This is no cave! But we’re still trapped in a giant snow globe!

Both Empire Strikes Back snow globes are available exclusively from ThinkGeek. The wampa cave is going for $39.99, while the space slug is just $19.99, but has a much smaller snow globe.

Empire Strikes Back Exogorth Space Slug Snow Globe: This Is No Cave!

Space slugs are a real menace to space travel. It’s gotten so bad that you can’t even land on an asteroid without flying into the mouth of one. Somebody should hire some exterminators. This Exogorth Space Slug Snow Globe will remind you of the perils of space slugs. Put it on the dashboard of your spaceship or on your desk.

This cool collectible recreates the nasty space slug from The Empire Strikes Back. It’s probably the only official desk toy that exists to represent this giant asteroid-dweller. Instead of a starfield, the Millennium Falcon floats in the snow globe flying away from its jaws.

It is an awesome tribute to an awesome scene. Grab yours over at ThinkGeek for just $19.99(USD).

This Snow Globe is a Sugar Bowl

Some things aren’t quite what they seem.

Take the Sugar House, for instance. It looks like a snow globe, although a relatively simple one as it only features a lonely, white house in the middle of the globe. But take a closer look and you’ll see that there’s something fishy with the way the ‘snow’ looks and falls.

Its makers, Pelag Design, must’ve taken a page from Maroon 5′s book because it’s actually filled with – you guessed it! – sugar. If you’re bored with your current sugar bowl or are in the market for one, then the Sugar House is definitely one option you should consider.

Add a bit of whimsy to your table for only $20(USD). You can get it here.

Oddly enough, there’s no Ice Warrior version. Forget that old souvenir New York snow globe on your shelf. Geeky snow globes are the way to go. Does it snow on Gallifrey? I’m not sure, but I know it snows here, and on a winter day you can stay inside and admire your Doctor Who snow globe.

Breaking Bad Snow Globe: I’ll Have a Blue Christmas without You

This snow globe is the perfect holiday gift for fans of Breaking Bad. Or for anyone dreaming of a blue Christmas rather than a white one.

This glass snow globe celebrates Walt and Jesse’s early days before everything got so crazy. Just sip your hot cocoa on a cold winter’s night and shake this snow globe to watch as tiny blue “meth” crystals snow down onto a Winnebago in the Albuquerque desert. It will bring back fond memories of the show, but with a wintry twist.
