Pagani Huayra R Evo with pop-out roof panels is optimized for performance and safety

Pagani has unveiled its latest open-top hypercar, which pushes the boundaries of both performance and design. The latest Huayra R Evo derives inspiration from the IndyCar and the iconic Le Mans performance cars that are built for endurance to the limits. The long-tail form is influenced in particular by the Huayra R, since Horacio Pagani got majorly attracted to the single-seater’s design during the Formula Indy race in Nashville.

Horacio couldn’t help but appreciate the aeroscreens, the protective polycarbonate surfaces that replace the two roof panels for an immersive connection to the outside while experiencing the sweet rumble of the engine in the ears. From that moment on the idea of creating a beautiful, strong and harmonious car sprouted. The result, this descendant of the Huayra R took two years to complete.

Designer: Pagani

At its heart, the Electrified R Evo is powered by the Pagani 6.0-liter V12-R Evo engine, capable of generating 900 hp (at 8,750 rpm and 567 lb-ft torque). That extra power is delivered from the trumpet design for the camshafts, intake manifold and modified exhaust system. Now that level of performance on paper should rival the gasoline-powered icons of endurance racing. The six-speed sequential gearbox weighing just 176 pounds (designed in collaboration with HWA AG), 280/680 R19 Pirelli P Zero Slick tires at the front and 345/725 R20 at the rear, helical springs, electronically controlled shock absorbers, heave damper and double-wishbone suspension further optimizes handling.

The race-ready electric Pagani can hit a top speed of 218 miles per hour and is equally capable when it comes to the stopping power, courtesy of the new CCM-R self-ventilated carbon ceramic brakes and bespoke racing pads. Increased downforce of 45 percent can be attributed to the four inches extended front splitter (with integrated ductwork cooling system support), 7/5-inches longer rear, central stabilizing fin and the rear wing of course. The open-top configuration further adds a boost of 5 percent better downforce. The result is that Huyara R Evo generates more downforce than its 2,337 weight at 199 mph which is utterly impressive.

On the inside, the hypercar is snug in fireproof material with a six-point harness system and the carbon-fiber headrests with lateral protection pay an ode to safety. Pagani will give the buyers the option for left or right-hand drive configuration which is expected from the ultra-proactive client-oriented Italian marquee.

A Perfect Party Trolley To Stand Out As A Host

There’s something just much more universally appealing about a house party that surpasses any other outdoor social gathering. House parties are a great way to meet new people, see them in a domestic setting, and feel comfortable because you’re in a domestic setting too. Designed to help elevate these house parties, Jagyeong Baek designed the ‘Diner’, a party trolley made with precision and elegance, catering to the vibrant culture of American house parties.

Designer: Jagyeong Baek

The diner is crafted with a keen understanding of the Western culture’s inclination for social gatherings, especially in the context of American house parties. With restrictions on late-night pub operations and outdoor drinking, the culture of hosting lively gatherings at home has grown. The Diner steps in as the perfect companion for these home-centric celebrations, providing a versatile solution for both indoor and outdoor spaces.

One of the standout features of the Diner is its mobility. Fitted with a convenient handle at the top, users can effortlessly pull the trolley to their desired location, making it a dynamic addition to any party setting. The four wheels not only provide stability but also allow easy steering for direction changes, ensuring that the Diner can seamlessly navigate through different spaces.

The Diner goes beyond just being a stylish piece; it integrates functional components that enhance the overall party experience. A sliding door-style room-temperature storage compartment at the back offers ample space for storing various ingredients. Meanwhile, the front center houses a refrigerator for keeping food ingredients, alcoholic beverages, and drinks chilled to perfection.

The top of the Diner doubles as a convenient table, providing a designated space for simple finger foods and drinks. This thoughtful design element adds an extra layer of practicality to the product, ensuring that it not only moves with ease but also serves as a central hub for party essentials.

To further elevate the party atmosphere, the Diner incorporates entertainment features. A dial in the upper left corner controls the power, and by rotating it clockwise, users can adjust the volume of the integrated speaker system. This feature adds a touch of audio ambiance to the party, making the Diner a comprehensive party package. Just charge it before your party and you’re set to impress everyone!

Recognizing the importance of aesthetics, the Diner offers users the choice of multiple color variations. This allows individuals to select a design that seamlessly integrates into their existing interiors, ensuring that the party trolley becomes an extension of their personal style.

Court orders Elon Musk to testify in the SEC’s investigation of his Twitter takeover

In a followup to a tentative ruling made in December, a federal judge has ordered Elon Musk to comply with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) subpoena and testify again in its probe of his Twitter takeover, Reuters reports. Per the order, which was filed Saturday night in a California court, Musk and the SEC now have a week to work out a time and place for his appearance or it will be decided for them. The SEC has been investigating Musk’s purchase of Twitter, now X, since 2022 over concerns about his lateness in disclosing his stake in Twitter.

The order comes after Musk failed to appear for a testimony in September and later refused to attend a rescheduled interview, prompting the SEC to sue. US Magistrate Judge Laurel Beeler sided with the SEC after Musk tried to challenge its subpoena, which he claims is seeking irrelevant information and is harassment, as he’s already been interviewed twice. But, the SEC says it has obtained new documents in relation to the probe and has further questions for the X owner. Musk also argued that the subpoena exceeds the SEC’s authority because it was issued by a staff member appointed by the SEC’s Director of Enforcement. Beeler struck these arguments down, ruling that the subpoena is valid.

It’s a gardening experience that goes beyond the ordinary, where every curve tells a story and each plant finds its own unique haven within the artistic confines of this Gardening Kit.

Designer: Jeongchun Lee

The designer has ingeniously incorporated the shape of the number ‘8’ into the design, using a single line that weaves into a consecutive curve. This design not only represents the cyclical nature of life but also serves as a canvas for creating a miniature nature within its form.

One of the most striking features of the EIGHT is its commitment to sustainability. Crafted as an upcycling object, this gardening kit is made from water-based eco resin blended with crushed oyster shells. The use of eco-resin minimizes environmental impact, while the crushed oyster shells add a touch of natural beauty to the product.

The Gardening Kit is a dynamic piece of art with a rise-and-fall landform reminiscent of a ‘petit-jardin’ (little garden). The undulating surface creates a visually intriguing landscape that captivates the eye. What makes it even more fascinating is the use of sheer refraction from the oyster shell fragments, adding a natural aesthetic to the overall design.

EIGHT goes beyond traditional gardening kits by allowing users to create a unique individual garden that reflects personal taste. Natural elements can be placed within the kit, providing different impressions when viewed from various angles. This versatility not only makes it a functional gardening tool but also a customizable piece of décor that adapts to the user’s preferences.

The Gardening Kit measures 150mm in width, 220mm in depth, and 80mm in height. Its compact size makes it suitable for various living spaces, bringing a touch of nature to any environment. And everyone loves a bit of green to complement their interiors right? The collaborative effort with Woothic Studio adds an extra layer of expertise and creativity, ensuring that the product is not only visually appealing but also thoughtfully designed.

The EIGHT Gardening Kit beautifully merges form and function, offering gardening enthusiasts a unique and sustainable way to cultivate their green spaces. With its nature-inspired design, eco-friendly materials, and customizable features, EIGHT(8) stands as a shining example of how creativity and sustainability can coexist harmoniously in modern design.
