Regular walking for health and fitness offers a lot of benefits but walking barefoot offers more. It helps improve the flexibility and strength of the ligaments and muscles of the foot. It is the best way to enjoy nature as it can also help enhance the body’s balance and one’s posture.

For people who like to walk or hike, being barefoot may not be ideal because of several reasons. Many may not want to walk that way, but to achieve similar benefits; there are available solutions. You may get trainers or sneakers that offer comfort and proper ergonomics.

One exciting concept solution is the Rainforest Walk, a pair of sneakers that lets you enjoy walking in a more natural way, like walking in a rainforest. The design has been imagined to compliment the natural functions of the body. The style of the shoes follows the pattern and visuals from a natural source.

The idea of walking barefoot isn’t the only reason for the design. It mimics the natural form of the foot of muscles—like the roots of a tree crawling along with the earth. The shoe starts with a custom anatomical build and is then covered with different patterns that appear to be hugging the foot.

The natural design continues, following the contours and shapes of the pattern. There are provisions for breathability, support, and comfort. In addition, there are tooling pods available to help grow the shoe structure, resulting in an aesthetical and comfortable structure.

The pair has undergone different prototype stages. What started as a sculptural base was then advanced into a prototype created by hand. The designer then added the sketches to the shoe form while the shoe pattern was taped and drafted traditionally.

Visually, the shoe comes with a tendon motif, especially on the forefoot. The pattern appears to be placed in the most natural and correct positions. Looking at the sketches, we can visualize a shoe that follows the natural placement of foot muscles.

The design was then rendered at full scale to plan the visual for all sides before making the prototype by hand. The outsole is then 3D-printed and then assembled with the upper portion. Notice the design’s attention to detail in every part of the shoe. Some people may not think the design is not that visually appealing, but the main purpose of the pair is really for the barefoot movement.

District Vision and New Balance team up to teach mindfulness, enhance running performance

To be mindful means to be more aware of your thoughts. It’s about being aware of your feelings and thoughts in response to the environment where you are at the moment. Life is about making the right choices, and they ought to be the best.

We’re not just talking about choices in fashion, consumer electronics, and mobile devices. Choices in life must be correct as they affect your happiness and wellbeing. But of course, the easiest way to show such characteristics is in the things that we use every day like clothes and footwear. So it’s not really just being stylish or fashionable but choosing items that are mindful of the person and his surroundings.

Sustainable fashion is already a known movement. From being eco-friendly, we now move to being mentally healthy which is a state that isn’t exactly easy to maintain. District Vision and New Balance have teamed up to push a unique partnership that will bring awareness and build a more mindful environment in the area of sports. Another goal is to educate people about mindfulness and explore the importance of movement and meditation.

The two brands’ first collaboration brings two brand-new DV + NB sneakers. Officially called District Vision X New Balance FuelCell RC Elite v2, this silhouette is available in two colors: White and Black. District Vision is a relatively new company that is more of a running brand and wellness collective. It has released a line of eyewear that became popular. It’s now trying its luck in the footwear and apparel game, and the DV + NB FuelCell RC Elite v2 is one of the first releases.

District Vision has already teamed up with other sports brands, but this partnership with New Balance brings to light both brands’ commitment to sports, health, and fitness. The FuelCell RC Elite v2 is one of New Balance’s most popular silhouettes. The pair can inspire people to run, move, and finally get moving. With mindfulness being added to the equation, we see a collaboration that genuinely cares for people.

District Vision and New Balance are all about the empowerment of the people. Health is not just about physical movement but also mental well-being. When you want to run, you can be mindful by thinking that such activity isn’t just a temporary escape and can be part of your life.

As for the other products part of the collaboration, the collection includes lightweight activewear and apparel with designs hand-drawn by Filip Pagowski. The shoes are also available in contrasting colors, giving the two different looks and feel. The design is sleek and appears to be lightweight, perfect for road runners. Thanks to the full-length carbon fiber plate, the pair is also comfortable, which can increase energy return. The outsole rubber is also lightweight together with a mid-foot cut out, resulting in reduced weight.

Running does good for your mental health and wellness. This pair can probably inspire you to get running and then eventually learn to be more mindful. You may not be able to offer all-out performance initially, but the two brands’ collaborative effort will empower you.

The District Vision New Balance FuelCell RC Elite V2 running sneaker is now available. In addition, the collaboration includes other items like Anti-Fog Glass, Balaclava, Singlet, Men’s Long Sleeve, Sherpa Pullover, Sherpa Pants, Pack Jacket, and Split Shorts. The clothing offers are now listed for pre-order and will soon be out in key markets.

District Vision and New Balance also offer micro-courses that will help educate and increase mental health through running. You can learn mindfulness when you hear from the providers and teachers. You will discover inner peace, mindfulness, and the benefits of motion through sports as promised by District Vision.

District Vision does research and development for mindful athletes. As a result, the brand comes up with products that can enhance performance and are functional. DV believes athleticism and mental wellbeing are connected, so the approach is holistic. It has proven successful when it comes to sports eyewear for runners and is now extending the same effort to footwear and apparel. For footwear, it has teamed up with New Balance to deliver a pair that helps enhance running performance.

All eyes are on the SpaceX project as earthlings want to colonize Mars someday. We highly doubt it will happen anytime soon, but you know, it may be best to prepare as early as now. By preparation, we mean plan for that house you will live in. You can also start thinking about clothing and footwear.

We don’t think many groups have already thought about fashion for Mars, but we can start. That is what French footwear designer Clement Fernandes has done. He came up with a footwear concept inspired by the SpaceX project. Of course, the pair is only a concept, but the designer thought about the intelligent sneakers that may need to defy gravity.

Once you’ve set foot on Mars, it may be nice to wear something cool and durable like the 38%_2101 Running Shoes for MARS. The pair is based on the Y-3 running shoes and looks very futuristic. The designer decided to go for the Y-3 because the brand has a futuristic vision.

The 38%_2101 Running Shoes for Mars appear to be out of this world, but the pair is also something we can still wear on Earth. The designer’s process included several other inspirations like aerospace equipment and minimal color units, and a few items with sharp shapes.

The 38 in the name pertains to 38%, which is the percentage of gravity on Mars related to the gravity on Earth. 2101 is the year of the competition as per the designer. The shoes’ upper is made of nylon combined with carbon nanotubes, and the latter is activated by the body’s heat and contract the nylon fibers. This is done so the upper can be adjusted to the size of the feet. Other rubber elements strengthen the upper’s structure so we know the pair is sturdy.

The shoes come with a multi-density EVA structure: high-density for the outsole while the midsole is low-density. The pair appears to not come with shoelaces, so we assume the design is a slip-on. We can also call these the Space-X shoes because the concept pair won’t be imagined if not for the Space-X project.

This particular design was presented a few years ago, but we like that it’s very much relevant these days. Adidas or the Y-3 team should finally consider making the pair a reality now that space tourism has been kicked off. It won’t be long before people are allowed to visit Mars. We believe it will happen someday but yes, maybe not in this lifetime. It may just be fun to imagine and start living as if we’re there on Mars.

This unique shoe’s big sole has a big impact on your stability!

Sneaker culture has been a rage for years, but that passion is now transcending into running shoes. Brands are more inclined to make running shoes with quirky visual aesthetics which gives us the emotional gratification of owning something unique like the sneakerheads without compromising on our performance. It’s like the classic case of FOMO (fear of missing out) culture that has resulted in cooler running shoes like the Hoka One One which is bound to make heads turn with its maximalist design.

Their latest shoe, the TenNines, is probably also their most curiosity-inducing pair ever! The first thing to catch my eye was the bulky sole with the bright yellow and blue serrated ridges. You’d think this thick sole would make the shoe heavy but, you’ll be surprised to know that it only weighs 12.65 oz (360 gms) which shows the poetic contrast between its form and function. The shoe, on the whole, looks like someone messed with its mold before it was made as the upper portion slides ahead like it is not aligned with the sole. Believe it or now, it was designed that way on purpose. The upper portion is made of abrasion-resistant mesh and Lycra so that the stretchy-ness can accommodate for foot swelling during long runs including the Meta-Rocker technology that is exclusive in Hoka One One’s shoes.

“The TenNines are designed to have a unique ride based on the greater ground contact area,” says Thibaut Poupard, Hoka One One’s senior manager of innovation. This model brags about having the largest contact area of any Hoka One One shoe or of any current ones in the market given that its sole extends from the back of the heel all the way to the sides. This unusual design improves stability and grip while managing the impact on the heel which is especially noticeable when you are running downhill – something most shoes cannot offer. These unique curves make it capable of performing on uneven terrain and paved roads but the brand warns that they aren’t best performing pairs for stairs or driving. The TenNine’s weirdness is known to be directly proportional to its comfort!

Putting the Nike Flywire in Focus

Since 2008, Nike’s Flywire design has continued to evolve, but most have integrated the strategically placed cables beneath textile. Rather than hide this dynamic tech, the Nike Untitled 7 shoe concept highlights it as a primary footwear feature.

The Flywire is stretched and extends through the sole to the upper portion of the shoe, much like a suspension bridge. The cables wrap over the top of the foot onto the other side of the shoe, securing the foot to the sole and upper. So as not to mess with the delicate cable balance, an integrated zipper opening on the inside of the shoe along allows for easier access while refining the aesthetic.

Chainmaille Running Shoes: Armor for Your Feet

PaleoBarefoot’s $265 PRONATIV chainmaille running shoes are not particularly stylish, but they should protect you from tiny swords and daggers should they be aimed at your feet. Apparently they are supposed to feel like you are running barefoot, but somehow I doubt that.

The best thing about them is that you can allegedly walk on LEGO blocks without any pain. They are worth it for that alone! They also supposedly give you better traction on slick surfaces. Basically, if your squire doesn’t outfit you with a pair of these “shoes” you should behead him immediately.
