Starfield Constellation Edition boasts a smartwatch that doubles as a functional gaming memorabilia

Most of the gamers I know (and apparently, I realized I know a lot) are not always the ones that you will associate with other gadgets like smartwatches. Well, at least, they will be interested if it’s connected to the game that they’re playing now. One of them said that they don’t want to be conscious about time or anything else while they’re playing so they most likely will not wear a watch. So the fact that the newest collection edition from Bethesda games costs $300 and comes with a smartwatch has given pause to some gamers eager to get their hands on the latest game from the company.

Designer: Bethesda Games

The Starfield Constellation Edition is a special bundle available for those who have been waiting for the Starfield RPG for so long. It’s a mix of physical and digital items with some you can use in-game and some are just some game memorabilia. That includes the smartwatch with a pretty nifty-looking watch case made from aluminum and plastic and with a metal latch. It looks like something an astronaut would carry on board a ship in the game. The highlight of the special edition though is the Chronofield smartwatch, which may be the most expensive part of the package.

It is made from plastic, metal, and rubber, with an option for a NATO strap in case you don’t want the rubber strap. It’s not a touch screen device but it has a glass screen and four physical buttons. It seems to have all the usual features like Bluetooth connectivity, weather updates, music control, moon phase display, notification alerts, etc. You can connect it to your smartphone app as well for other controls. It doesn’t seem to be connected to the game itself for now but future updates may eventually do so.

Aside from the watch and the watch case, the Starfield Constellation Edition also includes a Steelbook Display Case, constellation patch, and of course the Starfield Base game itself. There are other things like skin packs, in-game bonus items, access to the digital artbook and original soundtrack, etc. This should appeal to fans of the game and those who enjoy Bethesda games but if it’s just the watch you’re after, there will probably be better alternatives out there.

Bauhütte designs ergonomically comfortable laptop cushion stand for lazy gamers

Gaming as an industry is evolving into a source of entertainment and professional sports, given the level of engagement it offers. While Esports gamers prefer a professional setup to home in the advantage, a casual gamer churning time on a mobile device or even a laptop prefers a more comfortable setup.

Lying on the couch, relaxing on the bed or sitting on the floor; quick gaming sessions or even long ones can be comfier than you ever believed with Bauhütte’s new offering for the Gen-Z crowd.

Designer: Bauhütte

Playing games was never so comfortable as the Japanese gaming furniture pro has yet another well-sought-out design targeted for nerdy blokes. Ones who can stomp away all day long on the gaming controller or laptop keys for supremacy in the virtual world. Dubbed Large Cushion Table BHT-700C, the niche gaming accessory allows you to game on a laptop or mobile device anytime, anywhere. Not just another laptop stand or table, it has a huge U-shaped knee cushion with a tabletop that perfectly goes with the shape of the legs and torso, and also supports the arms. Whether you are sitting on a bed, sofa, or even a chair, this accessory fairs well when it comes to ergonomic comfort.

The tilted cushion and wide top board ensure the laptop and mouse stay sturdy in place. Whether you love to sit cross-legged or with legs straight, it is the ideal stand you need. For stashing eatables and other accessories for that laidback comfort, the accessory has three pockets on both sides. There’s a hook-and-loop fastener to secure the big pad so that it doesn’t slide off. There’s also the option to install an inclined cushion between the top plate and the main cushion for a more natural posture. For avid mobile gamers this is the best possible support for arms and head one can get during long sessions of Battle Royale exploits!

Bauhütte has designed the gaming cushion stand in a way that allows for 3 combinations of varied usage. So, there’s a configuration for every type of gamer. Large Cushion Table comes with a washable cover and each individual section can be configured with more filling for extra comfort. For now, this gaming accessory is only going to be available in Japan for a price tag of 16,800 Yen (approximately $120). Given the unprecedented level of comfort Bauhütte promises, it’s a must-have accessory for everyone hooked to the screen.

Bendable OLED display lets you turn regular flat screen into bent screen with just a button

If you’re a gamer, you understand the desire to have a screen that can give you a sense of immersion into the world you’re entering. If you’re both a gamer and an avid watcher of all things movies and TV (and music videos as well), then you’ll understand even more the joy of having a screen that can fit all of these things and can even adjust according to your desired “shape”. The arrival of flexible and bendable OLED displays like from LG Display have made this possible.

Designer: Hongseok Seo

The Gaming OLED Display is a concept commissioned by LG Display to showcase what’s possible with its bendable OLED through their differentiated technology. With this tech, you can freely change the shape of the display without needing a backlight or a liquid crystal display. This particular concept uses this bendable quality and turn it into a monitor for gamers and video viewers alike. It’s 42 inches wide and with just a touch of a button, you’ll be able to turn it from a flat screen for your video viewing into a bent screen for gaming and vice versa.

If you want a more immersive quality to your game or even your viewing of your favorite movie, you can just tap a button and the screen can bend up to 1,000R. If you prefer to watch something on a flat screen, you only have to press the button to return it to its flat-panel display. It also of course brings you great resolution whatever shape you want it to be. The screen itself is mounted on a small stand that can fit on your desk and where the touch controls are located.

They also said that this has the fastest and most accurate response time when it comes to bending your screen according to your desired shape. It would be nice to have this on my desk or living room, even if I’m not really a gamer. Having the option to have a bent or flat screen is something I’d like to have when I’m watching high-quality videos. Or maybe I should also start gaming to make this make more sense.

Lexip Np93 mouse makes your thumb more useful by giving it a joystick

At long last, your thumb will finally be able to earn its keep on a mouse and give gamers a slight advantage over their rivals, at least until they find out about this mouse.

Despite being one of the most-used input devices for computers, the mouse hasn’t changed drastically in the past decades. It has kept the same basic shape, which is now regarded to be non-ergonomic by default, and it pretty much relies on one finger and one finger only. That means that most of your other fingers are left unused and underutilized, but one mouse will try to give at least your thumb an exercise, hopefully to your advantage.

Designer: Pixminds

Apple was probably onto something when it decided that its first-party mice would have only one button. Even with two buttons and a mouse wheel that also functions as a third button, only the index and middle fingers really ever get used. Of course, that does mean that even Apple’s mouse puts all the responsibility and stress on one or two fingers, leaving the rest to just lie around. There are, of course, computer mice with extra buttons at the side, but one company is taking that idea to the next level.

Pixminds designed the Lexip Np93 Alpha to add more input options for gamers and give the thumb something to do beyond pressing buttons. A thumb joystick that can move in two axes provides more actions than even the most button-laden gaming mouse can provide, especially since this one still has extra buttons to boot. The company boasts 12 programmable buttons, which is no small matter considering how complicated modern games have become these days.

That thumbstick isn’t the only advantage the Lexip Np93 Alpha has, however. The mouse is also designed to offer comfort beyond what typical gaming mice can. In particular, the mouse comes with six ceramic feet to let it glide smoothly on any surface, and weight adjusters let users tweak the mouse’s weight to their preference. The mouse is also noted to use soft coating, oil painting, and doubly-injected rubber that adds both tactile comfort as well as aesthetic appeal.

The Lexip Np93 Alpha also has the customary RGB lighting that you can configure through the mouse’s accompanying software. Considering the flexibility and comfort it offers, it’s also surprising that it isn’t asking that much as far as its $40 selling price is concerned.

Tools get a Minecraft-inspired makeover to add some whimsy our everyday chores

My Craft is a collection of Minecraft-inspired tools constructed in the image of tools and motifs found throughout the game to play Minecraft.

As of 2020, 200 million copies of Minecraft were sold. Becoming one of the most sold video games ever, 126 million users play Minecraft worldwide. They say life imitates art, so it’s no surprise Minecraft found an uptick in global consumers around the same time we were all renovating our homes IRL.

Minecraft is a video game where players are placed in a new world that challenges them to find resources to build shelter, acquire food, and craft tools to construct their own virtual universe. A team of designers, Minju Kim, Woojin Shin, and Sunjin Baek, aimed to construct their own starter toolkit for Minecraft players called My Craft so each player can customize their real worlds with appliances that resemble tools used to play Minecraft.

My Craft first comes with a main toolbox that contains all of the different tools, including a tape measure, hammer, driver, and spanner, all of which are necessary for Minecraft’s interior design feature. With more and more video game players turning to Metaverse and VR gaming, blending the world of video games with reality has never felt more tempting. Enter My Craft, where each physical tool conceptualized by the team of designers is crafted using virtual motifs found in the Minecraft gaming universe.

The tape measure is inspired by the Golden Apple found throughout Minecraft, while the hammer’s image is borrowed from the pickaxe used by players for virtual construction. Then, the toolbox’s screwdriver is defined by a pixelated bone-inspired case commonly seen while playing the video game. Finally, a spanner and pincers tool takes on an image inspired by the tongs used for virtual home building in Minecraft.

Xbox Series S suitcase continues the Microsoft tradition of wacky yet must-have merchandise you can actually win!

Microsoft Flight Simulator has finally arrived for the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles today for gamers who can’t wait to fly high on this highly acclaimed sim. However, for those who tend to take their compact Xbox Series S along on the next planned trip, there’s a better way, at least if you are lucky enough! Microsoft has collaborated with high-end luggage manufacturing company July to create a limited-edition Xbox Series S suitcase for lucky fans.

While the simulator offers players to fly around the world from the cozy confines of their living room, the Xbox Series S suitcase does allow them to go on a holiday and carry their kit safely. Coming on to this gorgeous July suitcase, it has a pure white exterior matching the color theme of the gaming console. On the inside is where all the goodies are there. It has the Microsoft Series S console, a pair of wireless controllers, and a portable ASUS ROG Strix XG17 display for immersive gaming on the go. Of course, all the connecting cables and other accessories are also a part of this package.

This terrific accessory is up for grabs via social media content exclusively for Australian and New Zealand residents older than 13 years of age. Ones under the age of 18 require parental/guardian approval to enter the contest. This fantastic promotion will run through till 11:59 pm AEST on August 2, 2021, and already some influencers have been sent over this cool Xbox Series S suitcase!

This is the best thing to own right now for a hardcore gamer, and I hope it is up for purchase for eager buyers later. That said, the whole package is evaluated to be around a steep $3,282. The beautiful display alone is estimated to be somewhere around $490! While I’m already daydreaming about owning one, I’ll have to find solace as it is just limited to the two nations for now! Microsoft has been no stranger to such creations as earlier they revealed the Xbox Mini Fridge coming this holiday season – and while we wait, we hope they drop some more fun designs to keep us on our toes!

Don’t eat Cheetos while gaming with this lightweight ‘hollow’ mouse

The Makalu 67 is an incredibly lightweight gaming mouse that weighs a mere 67 grams, thanks to its unique ‘ribcage’ outer body. However, it’s also notoriously difficult to clean if you’re the kind to snack on stuff while you game. The mouse’s outer shell comes with a grille-like design that helps provide strength while reducing mass… and I’ll say, it’s definitely really unique looking.

Designed and calibrated for hardcore gamers who want their gear to be as lightweight/maneuverable as possible (while being durable too), the Makalu 67 comes from MOUNTAIN, a tech company known for their gaming gear. Most mice come with organic, ergonomic, monolithic designs, but the Makalu 67 breaks that with a body that’s parametrically perforated to provide strength with less material. Just like a ribcage protects your vital organs without necessarily being one massive block of bone, Makalu 67’s ‘ribcage’ design conceals the tech within, while reducing a significant amount of material.

The Makalu 67 comes with a PAW3370 sensor for high accuracy, offering up to 19000 DPI, with the ability to change the resolution too, using a button right at the top. An RGB ring around the scroll lets you easily customize your mouse’s aesthetic, choosing from up to 16.7 million RBG colors. However, that patented ribcage design is perhaps its most standout element. Not only does it allow the mouse to be lightweight, it keeps your hands cool while you game too, allowing air to flow across your palms so they never get sweaty. The only problem is accidentally using the mouse with dirty or wet hands, and then being left with something that’s virtually impossible to clean. That means no Cheetos, Doritos, or Pringles around this bad-boy… and it’s best if you kept your beer or soft-drink away from it too. If the price for that sacrifice is a better gaming experience with more kills/victories, I think a bunch of gamers would be willing to make that sacrifice.

These sleek gaming headphones go stalk-less to deliver crystal clear audio!

Gaming is a full sensory experience. Your seat has to pass the Goldilocks test, an HD screen brings everything into focus, and the audio needs to be crystal clear. That means that the right pair of headphones can change the whole game. Reconceptualizing gaming headphones to meet their personal requirements, design team Vasudevansr visualized a pair that moves past bulky hardware and poppy audio to instead deliver headphones that mean business.

Vasudevansr Design initially felt inspired to design its own pair of headphones to elevate the gaming experience. Frustrated by the jumps and general scratchiness that microphone stalks fail to equalize, Vasudevansr designed a pair of stalk-less headphones so that gamers don’t have to speak directly into the microphone to be heard. Confessing to this, Vasudevansr describes his initial inspiration, “I have a general dislike for stalks poking out of the units and for people who breathe into it,” they told Student Design Showcase on Instagram, “A slight protrusion from the main body, housing two microphones on each side is my idea of tackling the [microphone] stalk issue aesthetically.” Ditching the microphone stalk for an internal input and output system, Vasudevansr’s gaming headphones look sleeker and should deliver crisper, less shrill, and muffled audio.

Communicating with other gamers across servers is half the fun of playing video games, but not when all you’re listening to is someone’s breathing. To remedy this, Vasudevansr integrated an internal audio system that would be able to capture a full spectrum of frequencies without the bulkiness that accompanies protruding microphone stalks.

Designer: Vasudevansr Design

An internal audio system is contained in each earbud, equipped with dual microphones to pick up a full spectrum of frequencies.

A tough, metallic outer ear borders the headphones’ inner cushioning, which wraps the user’s ears.

Ditching the stalk microphone for an internal, slightly protruding microphone gives Vasudevansr’s headphones a cleaner look.

The pair of headphones have a slightly exposed look to them, offering view of its internal structure.

An Apple-inspired gaming console + more innovative designs that will revolutionize the future of gaming!

Gaming consoles, controllers, and other accessories are always on every guy’s wish list! They’re always on their tiptoes, waiting for the next launch in the gaming industry. And thankfully for them, the design industry comes up with innovative and super cool gaming products…all the time! Some turn out to be complete hits, while some are booed away to glory. But every one of them captures a lot of attention! And, we’ve curated a collection of unique and groundbreaking designs that could truly be the future of gaming! From an Apple-inspired gaming controller to an immersive gaming machine that uses projection technique, each of these products is here to break some convention in the gaming industry!

Sleek, with minimal details, and controls that are as baffling as the AppleTV Remote yet equally appealing. This may be Designer Hannes Geipel’s version of a Microsoft Surface Gaming Controller, but it definitely has a very strong Apple-esque vibe to it. The Surface Gaming Controller concept by Hannes Geipel boasts a brilliantly simple form. With absolutely no-frills, textures, accents, or color-separation, the Surface Gaming Controller has a clean look to it that is a major contrast to Microsoft’s own Xbox controller. The Surface Gaming Controller comes with a soft, satin finish, and sports two rather slick-looking joypads with a metallic ring around them.

Building upon Sony’s previously released DualSense wireless controller, which changed the way games “feel” through immersive haptic feedback, the new VR controller for the PS5 also provides haptic feedback and takes on an orb-like shape that allows users to move their hands freely and naturally when gaming. The ergonomic design behind the new VR controller was also tested by a range of users with different hand sizes to ensure that they work for everyone. In addition to the controller’s added haptic feedback, the new VR controllers are outfitted with the same adaptive trigger technology found on the DualSense wireless controllers. The adaptive trigger buttons on Sony’s VR controllers add tension that gamers can really feel when plucking an arrow or pulling on a rope, adding to the multisensory experience of PS5.

Inspired by PlayStation’s minimal look, the PSR was designed to keep and enhance the geo silhouettes using a simple circular shape and a stripe line. The disc-like projector unit can be rotated freely and depending on the angle it will form interesting geometric silhouettes – circle, rectangular, and cross. The console has a refined and modern aesthetic complimented by the Dualshock Duo controllers. The pressure-sensitive analog stick adds to the tactile input feeling that makes it different from its predecessors. It features magnetic pads that connect it so it can be charged together using the USB-C speed charge or the Chargestation Pro Dock if you have another set of controllers.

morphox1

We need a gadget like Morphox which is a conceptual controller designed to adapt to a variety of gaming experiences while still being ergonomic. While most tech is now becoming modular to adapt to our flexible lifestyle (or flexible game choices), gaming controllers are still pretty set in their mold. Morphox breaks this mold with a design that creatively incorporates feedback from existing controllers like the placement of the trigger button for better access which is a starting point. “This personal exploration project of mine where I have taken the idea of playing around with the controller of the future that lets you be more into the game hypothetically having an apt. compatible console system that these controllers work,” says Gohil.

The Lian Li DK05F and DK04F gaming desks allow you to peer at and admire the tech below the keyboard! The desks have been amped with a switchable top glass panel which enables you to explore what’s going on beneath the surface. At the press of a button, the water-cooled components turn completely opaque! The gaming desks can also support weights of up to 80kg, and their height can be adjusted as well.

The ASUS ROG Phone 3 has been amped with a Game Mode to provide enhanced in-game sound effects for an immersive gaming experience. It also comes along with an AMOLED 6.59-inch display for vivid and sharp images! Further equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming technology, the visuals get even more realistic.

Titled the EVOLUTION 3D, these conceptual TWS Gaming Earbuds form the perfect successor to Sony’s Pulse headphones, giving PS5 gamers some much-needed variety. Every archetype of a gamer involves having a clunky pair of headphones with a microphone, but the EVOLUTION 3D wants to give that cliché an upgrade. By combining powerful gaming hardware with sleek, cutting-edge consumer tech, the EVOLUTION 3D creates allies out of two hardware categories that seldom see an overlap. The TWS earbuds come with the distinct PS5 visual style with the interplay between white and black surfaces. The case comes with an embossed version of the PS logo, and a soft, pebble-inspired form.

It says a lot about the PS5’s design that concept artists are still trying to reimagine its aesthetic as something more traditional and less alien-like. The PS5 “Pro” comes from the mind of Anesthétique Projets, who also developed the PlayStation 5G, a handheld PS Vita-styled concept that made the most of the console/mobile gaming crossover. Now, the NY-based designer is back with an overhaul of the ‘polarizing’ PS5 design. Titled the PlayStation 5 Pro, the console borrows from the circular elements seen on the 1st gen PlayStation and its younger sibling, the curvier PS One. Its back-to-basics design even sports an updated version of the DualShock 4 controllers that pair well with the console’s flat cylindrical design.

Titled the Nintendo Delight, this smartphone concept builds on the success of Nintendo’s Switch, making it even more portable and adding a few extra features to it. The Nintendo Delight replaces the need to carry your phone along with your gaming console. By combining the two together, it becomes your go-to device for gaming, browsing, social media, and everything in between. Designer Sophia Yen makes a pretty astute observation when she points out that the Switch is already an Android device (YouTuber Linus Tech Tips even demonstrates how to run Netflix on a Switch), and the Nintendo Delight simply builds on it, adding network capabilities and a camera to the mix.

The SteelSeries QcK Prism Cloth XL gamer mousepad offers two-zone RGB dynamic illumination, and provides that extra flair and light around your gaming mat! It gives you complete control of the in-gaming lighting notifications, and you can even easily create complex effects in no time.

The HyperX Alloy Origins 60 is a small-but-mighty gaming keyboard

Maybe it’s because our homes are feeling increasingly cramped, but 60 percent keyboards seem to be coming into vogue. Those are decks that not only lack a number pad, but also jettison all the function keys and miscellanea like the “scroll lock” and...
