Samsung Galaxy Ring-inspired luxury pajamas are the fashion statements no one expected

Smart rings offer an opportunity to free our wrists from bulky and sometimes gaudy smartwatches, becoming more fashionable alternatives to wearable tech. A ring itself can be considered a fashion item, part of one’s jewelry, but smart rings like the Samsung Galaxy Ring opt for more discreet and minimalist designs. The idea is for these devices to get out of your way and do their jobs in the background while you wear your more luxurious bracelets and watches on your wrist. That’s not stopping the tech giant from trying to build bridges with the fashion industry, and that has given birth to one of the oddest mashups between these two worlds: smart ring-inspired luxury sleepwear.

Designer: Samsung

It’s not the first time that the tech industry has tried to make its presence and products known in the fashion world. From “accessories” like the foldable Honor V Purse to the oddities like Microsoft’s annual ugly sweaters, there are numerous examples of phones and gadgets trying to look chic, one way or another. Smartwatches themselves are supposed to be fashionable, which is why luxury brands once tried to break into that nascent market.

This collaboration between Samsung and famed luxury fashion designer LaQuan Smith, however, is both unusual yet also thankfully not as in-your-face as previous works. This piece of fashion doesn’t flaunt the Galaxy Ring in any form, but it also makes it less evident how the two are related. At New York Fashion Week next month, LaQuan Smith will showcase his Spring/Summer ’25 Collection, including the Lucid Dream line of luxury sleepwear inspired by Samsung’s latest luxurious-looking wearable.

It’s admittedly difficult to immediately discern the connection between these two very unrelated things, and the explanation is also a bit of a stretch. In a nutshell, the fashionable two-piece pajamas can be used not only in bed but also during the day, transitioning from sleepwear to daywear without having to take anything off. This, according to Samsung, echoes the Galaxy Ring’s 24/7 usability, never taking it off unless to charge it after a few days.

Of course, LaQuan Smith himself wears a Galaxy Ring all day, or so the press release states, which includes during his sleeping hours. Sleep, according to the designer, is a critical factor not just in his wellness but also in his creativity, where many of his waking designs were inspired by dreams in his sleep. Whether that will immediately make you think of Galaxy Ring-inspired pajamas is left to your imagination, but those who want a piece of this limited edition fashion item will have to wait after the event to see when and where Samsung will sell them.

10 Best Futuristic Tech Trends Revolutionizing the Industry and Shaping Our Future

This year has been pretty interesting, in the sense that we have come across a whole bunch of innovative and jaw-dropping tech designs. Things have been exciting here at YD, as we encountered an array of intriguing designs that left a lasting impression on our minds. Each design broke through some barrier or convention in the tech world, bringing us unique solutions, improved functionality, and immense value. And we’ve curated the top 10 futuristic tech trends that are forming waves in the industry today – from a conceptual Apple Vision Joystick Pro Max to a unique design that merges earbuds and a smartwatch. These designs will impress you, just as they impressed us.

1. Nokia Infinity Pro

Called the “Nokia Infinity Pro”, this innovative phone concept challenges the typical “candy bar” form factor of smartphones, creating a thin pill-shaped design that looks like an interesting cross between a foldable clamshell and a smartwatch – all combined into one. The conceptual smartphone has a curvaceous shape that fits comfortably in your hand.

Why is it noteworthy?

What makes this phone unique is that the screen covers the entire surface of the phone’s front, not only the rectangular section. The back of the phone features two circular mounds opposite to each other. One mound is a dual-camera system, while the other is a circular display seen on most smartphones.

What we like

  • The circular display provides access to important notifications and controls even when the phone is placed down

What we dislike

  • If you keep putting the phone face down, it could scratch the screen
  • Not sure which UI elements can be used at the top and bottom of the screen, since most platforms are for rectangular screens

2. HEAL+

If you face health issues, then you don’t need to turn to uncomfortable, ineffective, and expensive solutions anymore. You can turn to this innovative wearable device which focuses on the center of physical and mental health, offering users portable, safe, and easy-to-handle tools to ensure a pain-free gut and a stress-free mind.

Click Here to Buy Now: $359 $998 (64% off). Hurry, only 20 left! Raised over $290,000.

Why is it noteworthy?

Named HEAL+, this wearable device is a non-invasive solution that helps your gut function properly, resulting in better overall health. HEAL+ is powered by laser therapy, or essentially low-level laser therapy or LLLT which reduces inflammation and pain, and other gut-related disorders like IBS, colitis, Crohn’s disease, and more.

What we like

  • Boosts your immune system, helping in recovery from long-COVID
  • Regulates the microbial balance in our gut

What we dislike

  • The design is not kid and pregnant-women friendly

3. Apple Vision Joystick Pro Max

This is the “Apple Vision Joystick Pro Max” – a conceptual design of the Apple Vision Pro Controller by Alex Casabò. The sleek-looking controllers seem to perfectly complement the headset’s futuristic look, and they’re designed to offer smooth and seamless functionality irrespective of what you throw at them.

Called the iPhone iFold, this conceptual design is an innovative foldable phone by Micheal Dufka. The iFold is inspired by the format of the MotoRAZR and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. It has a clamshell-style folding design which offers a compact iPhone with a large screen.

Why is it noteworthy?

It features two displays, with a smaller display placed to the side of the camera bump. You can access essential stats and important notifications without actually opening your phone! It has the same convenience as an Apple Watch.

What we like

  • Has a unique folding form, unseen in Apple smartphones till now

What we dislike

  • We are unsure if Apple will ever convert this into a tangible product, and how well it would work as one

5. Huawei Watch Buds

Called the Huawei Watch Buds, this innovative gadget combines two gadgets into one. The unique gadget means there is one less gadget to carry around, as it merges earbuds and a smartwatch into one clever design. You can remove the earbuds from inside the smartwatch, much like the stuff of Bond movies!

Why is it noteworthy?

Much like the charging case of your earbuds power up your earbuds, the smartwatch charges the incubating buds inside. The earbuds feature a compact and easy-to-carry form, which creates a compact form factor for the squarish smartwatch. The watch has a 48.5 mm dial with symmetrical chopped edges.

What we like

  • Compact design, combining two products into one

What we dislike

  • It is an odd fit for smaller hands

6. Nike Air Jordan XI Adapt Jumpman

Say hello to these super innovative and futuristic shoes – the Nike Air Jordan XI Adapt Jumpman. These shoes are amped with power-lacing technology! Equipped with a self-lacing design, the Air Jordans are right from the future. They are pretty similar to the original shoe shape from 25 years ago.

Why is it noteworthy?

The shoes pair up with the Nike Adapt app, allowing you to personalize them as you please, and control your shoes with real-time customization as well. The app’s interface is a direct reflection of the Jordan brand, and you can customize the buttons on the shoe’s midsole.

What we like

  • You can personalize the limited-edition Nike shoes’ color scheme, as well as the light flashing pattern

What we dislike

  • Users could take some time to adjust to the self-lacing tech

7. Samsung Odyssey OLED G9

Dubbed the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9, this 49-inch monitor is amped with a resolution of 5120×1440 with an aspect ratio of 32:9. The screen isn’t an ordinary curved screen, and it provides a pretty wide field of view which perfectly adjusts to the way your eyes work, on account of its 1800R curvature. This marvelous screen offers an immersive and fascinating visual experience!

Why is it noteworthy?

Using the Odyssey OLED G9 is like having two QHD or 2K monitors side-by-side but with the elimination of the distracting borders that break the seamlessness and harmony of the entire experience. There is also enough space for multiple application windows, helping you get your work done.

What we like

  • Equipped with a Multi-View option that lets you place two screens from two different sources, letting them play at the same time

What we dislike

  • Doesnt have the best sound quality
  • Pretty expensive price tag

8. FOCI 2

Meet FOCI 2 – the ultimate productivity tool. The productivity wearable tracks your daily emotions, distraction, stress, calm, etc as you study or work. What we like

  • Can easily slip it into your pocket, or hang it on a keychain or bag
  • Keeps relevant files in hand and accessible

What we dislike

  • Since it is quite small, you can easily lose it, handle it with care

Apple Watch 3 can sit and watch as Garmin Fenix 8 Smartwatch arrives with AMOLED display

Lately, Apple has been all over the news for its slated launch of the Watch Ultra 3 but Garmin seems to have undercut the Cupertino giant by launching its own set of new-age smartwatches. Yes, Garmin’s anticipated Fenix 8 AMOLED smartwatch is here alongside the modest Fenix E model.

The sports smartwatch will get a bright screen similar to a smartphone, thus making it crisp and highly visible in broad daylight. If you don’t want to keep charging your watch after a while, choosing the standard solar version with the time-tested MIP (Memory In-Pixel) display is a better option since it delivers added battery life. Either way, the Fenix 8 series will give tough competition to the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and the upcoming Apple smartwatch.

Designer: Garmin

The Garmin Fenix 8 comes in two sizes – 47mm and 51mm – for both the AMOLED and standard solar versions. The AMOLED model however gets another 43mm variant well suited to small hands. All the Fenix 8 versions will have built-in speakers and microphone to take calls, trigger the phone’s voice assistant, settings timers hands-free, or even listen to music. This is new to the Garmin Fenix line and something users will value in daily usage. According to official figures, the Fenix 8 AMOLED 51mm lasts for up to 29 days on a single charge while the standard Fenix 8 51 mm variant can go for a stellar 48 days with the screen always on.

This smartwatch is tested strictly according to US military standards for protection against fire and sudden shocks. It comes with a 40m water-resistance feature, and the app interface now gets the scuba diving and apnea modes. Garmin has also added a built-in flashlight function which is a welcome addition. The watch now has strength training plans that come with four to a week mode to achieve fitness goals, and guided workouts for trail running and skiing. Durability has been boosted with the inclusion of a sensor guard and leakproof buttons.

Garmin claims that they’ve improved the navigation features as the user can now customize layers on the map screen. Alongside this, the new dynamic round-trip routing feature lets you set a target distance to create an automated route that updates in real time for you to achieve that distance.

Depending on the model and variant chosen, the smartwatch can cost anywhere from $1000 – $1200. The Fenix 8 AMOLED versions are priced at $1000, $1100 and $1200 respectively. The standard 47 mm and 51 mm solar variants will cost $1100 and $1200.

TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 45MM x Oracle Red Bull Racing Edition is more than a smartwatch

Red Bull Racing and TAG Heuer share a long-term association that has, in different ways, paid tribute to motorsports fans and horology buffs sharing a common passion for speed and time. This congenial relationship between the two stalwarts – in their own domains – started back in 2016 with the Formula 1 Red Bull Racing Special Edition timepiece. Since then, the two have been parties to multiple drivers’ championships and podium finishes, amid other accolades.

Continuing the partnership, to record more success outside of the track, TAG Heuer and reigning F1 champions Oracle Red Bull Racing have collaborated again for the new and impressive TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 45MM x Oracle Red Bull Racing Edition. The smartwatch is, on all accords, similar to most feature-packed smartwatches on the block, besides being a dedicated timepiece for fans.

Designer: TAG Heuer

An amalgamation of TAG Heuer’s watchmaking genius and the speed-first world of motorsports, the Connected Calibre E4 45MM is equal parts a TAG-connected smartwatch and part a driver’s assistant on the wrist. Expressively then, the smartwatch is accentuated with a suite of modern features that the Oracle Red Bull Racing team may want for its fans and the drivers engaged in high-octane drives on the circuits.

TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 45MM x Oracle Red Bull Racing Edition, as the name has it, features a 45mm DLC grade-2 titanium case. The darker watch case is accompanied by a touch of tradition with the strap in red and blue colors of Red Bull Racing. The dial also has the color theme going and is perhaps the most intriguing part of the timepiece.

The 1.39-inch OLED display featuring 454×454 pixels (326ppi) resolution allows the user to toggle between dial faces, layouts, and other components like images of the Team, race countdown, and post-race updates to gel with their requirements. For instance, the watch allows one to choose between four faces: the primary one being the Seasons. In this setting, the watch dial showcases flags along the bezel, highlighting the country flag where Oracle Red Bull Racing would be competing next.

Next face is the Asphalt, which brings textured, race track-inspired backgrounds to the dial. Another includes an official watch dial inspired by the 2024 Red Bull Racing Car. Two interesting aspects of the watch are its dedicated app, which controls the timepiece and offers the F1 journey of the automaker’s cars, and the watch face evolving to display the finishing positions of the Red Bull Racing drivers. The battery-powered TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 45MM x Oracle Red Bull Racing Edition can run 24 hours on a single charge, comes with a PPG sensor on the caseback, and is water resistant up to 50 metres. It is available starting this month for a retail price of $1,950.

Each device is expected to incorporate Google’s latest innovations, showcasing the company’s dedication to improving the user experience through design and intelligent software. However, the real star of the show might be Google’s AI capabilities, integrated across these devices to create a seamless and intuitive experience.

A New Era of Pixel Phones

The Pixel 9 series will likely be the centerpiece of tomorrow’s announcements. Next-Level Audio with Pixel Buds Pro 2

Google’s new Pixel Buds Pro 2, debuting at the Made by Google event, promises to be a noteworthy addition to the Pixel ecosystem. According to numerous leaks and rumors, the earbuds will feature wings for a secure grip, maintaining the stemless aesthetic of the current generation, unlike the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, which has adopted a stem design similar to AirPods. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 display unit has already appeared at a Reddit user’s store, offering a glimpse into the upcoming model.

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2

The new earbuds will be a subtle upgrade to the previous version, with improvements that keep them competitive with options like the Sony WF-1000XM5 and Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II. They will be smaller than the current Pro model, making them comfortable for those with small ears, and the wingtip is slightly larger for a more secure fit. This new design will also be color-matched with options including Raspberry, Mojito, Porcelain, and Haze.

Additionally, the case will be smaller, making it easier to carry in a pocket. A small speaker mesh at the bottom likely supports the Find My Device feature, ensuring you can locate them quickly if misplaced. These earbuds are expected to integrate seamlessly with Pixel devices, enhancing features like real-time language translation and hands-free control via Google Assistant. The new Tensor A1 audio chip will double the active noise cancellation capabilities, providing a significant upgrade in audio quality for users who need to block out ambient noise.

Wearable Tech: Pixel Watch 3

The Pixel Watch 3 will also debut, offering users a refined wearable experience. This iteration is rumored to introduce a larger XL model to accommodate users who prefer a bigger display. The watch is expected to feature a brighter display, improved battery life, and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology support, enhancing features like precise device tracking.

The Pixel Watch 3 aims to build on its predecessor’s health and fitness capabilities, possibly integrating new fitness features developed in tandem with the Pixel Buds Pro 2. Users can look forward to a more comprehensive suite of health monitoring tools, making it a valuable companion for those who prioritize wellness.

Google AI: The Real Game Changers

While the hardware is undeniably exciting, the software and AI advancements will steal the show. Google plans to introduce Android 15, which includes features designed to enhance security and privacy, such as Private Space and Theft Detection Lock. These features highlight Google’s focus on safeguarding user data while offering new functionalities that make devices smarter and more responsive.

Google’s AI initiative, Gemini, will be showcased with new tools that integrate seamlessly into the Pixel ecosystem. These tools, branded under “Google AI,” will include innovative features like “Add Me,” which allows users to add faces to group photos, and “Pixel Screenshots,” which extract information from screenshots. Integrating AI across devices will create a unified user experience, allowing smoother transitions between tasks and more intuitive interactions.

As Google continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI, these advancements are set to redefine user expectations and establish new benchmarks in the industry. The focus on AI reflects a broader trend in tech, where companies increasingly leverage intelligent systems to deliver more personalized and efficient services.

Before every gadget is released officially it must go through the rumor mill to keep things spiced up for prospective buyers and reviewers. Google Pixel Watch 3 slated for an August 13 release will take on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 head-on with its rounded dial and we hope it doesn’t have any inaugural issues like battery drain.

We’ve already seen OnLeaks and 91Mobiles reveal the first batch of design and specification details for Google’s upcoming wearables. Now another spar of leaked marketing material by Android Headlines reveals more information. The highlighting one has 10 percent more screen space than the predecessor – the Pixel Watch 2.

Designer: Google

Going by the leaked information, the Watch 3 could have a brighter display at 2,000 nits which is almost double the Watch 2, courtesy of the in-house Actua Display. According to the specs sheet, the smartwatch will get 24 hours of battery life with AOD enabled and around 36 hours if you opt for the battery saver mode. The charging speed of the 41mm model will be 20 percent better than the predecessor, although no mention of the 44mm model is there. That directly implies that the new smartwatch will not employ the hybrid interface on the Wear OS 4.

On the software front, the Watch 3 can stream live Google Home videos from your Nest Cam or Nest Doorbell. The user will also get the option to toggle between image and video feed when controlling the phone’s camera from the watch. There’ll also be voice support and quick access to apps including Maps and Wallet. Fitness is going to be another focal point of the interface with workout tracking. It’ll have audio and haptic feedback for initiating a spring, run or cooldown. For better workout planning, the Fitbit morning brief offers a summary of health and fitness metrics.

According to Android Headlines, the Pixel Watch 3 will be available in Matte Black Aluminum with an Obsidian band and Polished Silver Aluminum with a Porcelain band. Model-specific colors include the Champagne Gold Aluminum with a Hazel band for 41mm, and Matte Hazel Aluminum with a Hazel band for 45mm. The band options are going to be plentiful with Active Band, Woven Band, Metal Link Band, Crafted Leather Band and Performance Loop Band each having a further set of color options. According to the leak Google will offer exclusive options for the 41mm model that’ll include Strech Band, Metal Mesh Band, Metal Slim Band and Two-Tone Leather Band.
