It’s usually said that October is the busiest time for phone launches. It’s often when Apple announces its entire iPhone lineup, and Google its Pixel lineup too. The term Techtober is often floated about to describe this busy time, but that era’s changed. With Nothing’s sub-brand CMF announcing gadgets on 8th of July, a speculated Google event in August, and IFA Berlin in September, it does seem like the tech rollout is starting well before October. CMF by Nothing is slated to announce three products tomorrow, with their first smartphone dubbed the Phone 1 (not to be confused with the Nothing Phone (1)), and upgrades to their Buds and Watch lineup. The Watch Pro 2, which has already surfaced online, sees a radical design change this year. Instead of the rectangular display on last year’s Watch Pro, the sophomore smartwatch from the brand pivots to a circular screen. It’s an interesting choice, given that CMF will have had to redo the entire UI and OS to match this new display shape.
The redesign isn’t without reason, given that the watch is now expected to come with detachable bezels (which may also play a part in the watch’s OS). A button on the side gets replaced with a rotating crown, and the Watch Pro 2 finally looks like it’s taking on a distinct aesthetic that makes it stand out from the rest of the smartwatches out there… and that can only be a good thing.
Designer: CMF by Nothing
As per the images, the CMF Watch Pro 2 features a classic round dial design with a 1.32-inch AMOLED display. This display technology promises rich colors, deep blacks, and excellent visibility even under bright sunlight. An exciting addition is the inclusion of interchangeable bezels, allowing users to personalize the watch’s look to match their outfit or occasion. The watch is confirmed to also come with gesture controls, although the specific gestures and their functionalities remain to be revealed. This feature has the potential to streamline user interaction with the watch, making it more intuitive and convenient.
Indian Actress Rashmika Mandanna models for the Watch Pro 2
Technical specifications like battery life and processor details are yet to be officially confirmed. However, its predecessor, the Watch Pro, offered a commendable 2-week battery life on a single charge. With the CMF Watch Pro 2, we can expect similar or potentially improved battery performance. The CMF Watch Pro 2 is expected to launch alongside the CMF Phone 1 on July 8th. While the pricing details are yet to be revealed, considering the upgrades, we can expect a slight increase compared to the previous model’s launch price of Rs 4,499 (approx $54 USD).
This might be the most sensible idea of the decade. Instead of buying electric toothbrushes, what if there was an attachment that made regular toothbrushes vibrate the way electric ones do? That’s what the Motomoto tries to do. A simple silicone sleeve that attaches onto a standard bamboo toothbrush, the Motomoto ‘electrifies’ your brushing routine, adding ultrasonic vibrations while you clean your teeth. This helps dislodge food particles, clean plaque, and keep your mouth cleaner than just using regular hand motions. The toothbrush itself is made from bamboo and is designed to be replaceable, while the Motomoto itself stays constant. Genius.
An electric toothbrush, simply put, is just a motor attached to a bunch of bristles using an ergonomic handle. That’s all an electric toothbrush really is – and it’s honestly disappointing that companies have somehow corrupted that idea into a capitalist nightmare. Oral-B’s bristles don’t fit on a Colgate toothbrush and vice versa. Companies have colored bristles that fade with time when you need to change them, and just the brush head (the replaceable part on a toothbrush) comes in expensive single packs or cheaper economy packs. Not to mention they’re ALL made out of plastic, so throwing bristles away is tantamount to polluting. It’s the same with printers, and with shaving razors… and Frederick Yap wanted nothing to do with that model. So he designed the Motomoto – an electric handle that attaches to a regular toothbrush. The handle stays, and the biodegradable toothbrush gets replaced… and if you want to brush manually without the motor, that’s absolutely fine too.
The Motomoto itself looks like a simple handle without the bristles. A hole on the top lets you slide your bamboo toothbrush in, effectively turning the brush into an electric one. The brush features a bamboo body, with a choice between 4 bristles – regular flat bristles, charcoal-infused tapered bristles, bamboo tapered bristles, and ultra-fine nano bristles for sensitive gums. Each Motomoto comes with the assorted 4 brushes, and you choose the one that suits you the best. The other brushes can be used by other members of your family, and at the end of their cycle, the brushes can safely be discarded or composted, allowing them to return to nature with minimal waste created in the process.
The handle is where the magic unfolds. Slide the brush in before using, hit the button, and brush like you normally would. The vibrations from the Motomoto enhance the efficiency of your brushing by 50%, adding more bristle movement while you brush so that it scrapes off plaque and food debris faster. The gentle vibrations get the job done so you don’t need to brush as hard, which can sometimes cause your gums to bleed.
Each Motomoto comes along with a 4-pack of assorted brushes, and a holder that lets you vertically dock your Motomoto when you’re not using it. The Motomoto also runs on a rechargeable Li-ion battery, which means you can plug a USB-C charger in to juice your electric toothbrush. There are 4 Motomoto colors you can choose from – Nude Brown, Forest Green, Cream White, and Ash Grey, and the entire kit starts at just $18, with an extra 4-pack of brushes costing $9.
Imagine we’ve come so far that we can fit an entire movie theater into a device that’s essentially the same size as a brick. After launching the Screeneo U5 in the end of 2022, Philips is back with its smallest, most advanced UST projector yet. Dubbed the Screeneo UL5 Smart, it builds on the success of Philips’ past projectors, while focusing on being a budget-friendly gadget to help people convert from TVs to something a little more immersive. Measuring just over 8 inches long, 3.7 inches wide, and 3.4 inches tall, the Screeneo UL5 Smart outputs an impressive 100-inch screen when kept just 20 inches away from a wall. The tiny device produces a display that’s rich in color, has a 550 ANSI lumen brightness, and has a Full HD resolution of 1080p. Sure, it’s no 4K projector… but at a sub-$1000 price tag, it’s probably the best ultra-short throw projector you can get your hands on. Oh, it also comes bundled with its own OS that let you run popular streaming services, pitching it well into smart projector territory.
While the UL5 Smart departs from the 4K resolution of its predecessor, the U5 model, it maintains a respectable Full HD 1080p resolution – ideal for enjoying movies, shows, and games in crisp detail. The projector utilizes a DLP chip alongside a triple-laser light source, separating red, blue, and green colors for an exceptionally rich and vibrant visual experience. The impressive 0:23:1 ultra-short throw ratio means you don’t need to keep the device multiple feet away from the projection surface, the way most traditional projectors need to be kept. A simple 20 inches away from a wall or screen gives you a staggering projection that measures 100 inches diagonally. Adjust the distance to adjust the size of the projection – the UL5 Smart can pull off 120 inches with absolutely no discernible drop in brightness or clarity. It also automatically keystones and focuses itself, so you spend less time setting up and more time enjoying content.
The compact form factor allows the Screeneo UL5 Smart to be used as more than just a movie-watching device. Sure, projectors and movies are practically synonymous – and the Screeneo UL5 Smart does come with Philips’ LuminOS, which lets you natively run Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Apple TV, HBO Max, and a whole slew of other apps – but an abundance of ports lets you use your Screeneo UL5 Smart to do things like extend your laptop/desktop/tablet screen, or directly hook your gaming console to the projector for larger-than-life gameplay.
Rest the UL5 Smart on its back the way it’s designed to be placed and you’ve got a projected image on the wall. Flip the UL5 Smart over and stand it vertically, and it projects a bright 35-inch display onto the floor or a table, letting you watch content on the tabletop like recipe videos, the game, or even project drawings onto a piece of paper and allow you to sketch directly. AI-driven auto-focus and keystone kicks in immediately, fixing the image to make it perfectly focused and rectangular.
Spec-nerds will have little to complain about what the UL5 Smart offers. With a peak of 550 ANSI lumens, the projector is ideally suited for dimly lit or dark environments. However, this is balanced by exceptional color reproduction. The UL5 Smart boasts coverage exceeding 200% of the Rec.709 color gamut, 108% of Rec.2020, and a remarkable 150% of the DCI-P3 color space. Additionally, it supports HDR10, ensuring vibrant visuals with deeper blacks and brighter whites for compatible content.
Running on an Android-based operating system, the UL5 Smart comes pre-loaded with popular streaming apps like Netflix and Youtube, eliminating the need for external devices. Built-in dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity allow for seamless streaming and connection to external speakers for an even more powerful audio experience. For wired connections, the UL5 Smart offers an HDMI port, a USB Type-A power port, and two USB-C ports for data and video. The projector also features integrated 3-watt Dolby speakers, providing a decent audio solution for casual viewing.
At a price of $789, the Philips Screeneo UL5 Smart is quite the bargain. It’s compact, smart, outputs screen sizes up to 120-inches, and builds on Philips Projection’s UST capabilities. You’ve got an abundance of ports, along with a built-in OS for a whole lot of variety – and the projector even ships with its own remote control, letting you easily browse through content and enjoy movies, sports, and games larger than life. The Screeneo UL5 Smart begins shipping September 2024 for backers on Indiegogo.
Earlier this year, LEGO revised their R2D2 model and honestly, my first reaction was to ask ‘why?’ The new R2D2 was smaller than the original, and it seems its reason was so that LEGO could debut a scale-matching C3PO to complete the set. Its 15-inch build matches the R2D2 perfectly, so you can pair them together on a mantelpiece and create the iconic duo. The LEGO C3PO build also marks 25 years since LEGO and the Star Wars franchise first collaborated together. The first-ever collab between the two behemoths was back in 1999, when LEGO released a X-wing fighter model alongside the launch of the Phantom Menace movie. Two and a half decades later, their partnership is still going strong, with multiple builds (and even LEGO movies) to mark the successful partnership.
Standing at over 15 inches (38 centimeters) tall, the C-3PO droid is constructed from a staggering 1,138 LEGO pieces. The intricate design captures every iconic detail of the character, from his golden plating and expressive head to his posable arms that can be adjusted to recreate classic poses. Fans can relive their favorite Star Wars moments by turning C-3PO’s head or making him gesture with his arms.
The entire build comes with a C3PO minifigure, a plaque with C3PO’s stats, and a small poster commemorating 25 years of LEGO Start Wars

This isn’t a completely static display model either. The C-3PO figure features a posable head and arms, allowing you to recreate classic poses from the Star Wars saga. There’s even a fun detail for die-hard fans – one of the arms can be repositioned to mimic C-3PO’s well-known gesture of patting R2-D2 on the head.
The set comes complete with a display stand featuring an information plaque about C-3PO and a spot for the included C-3PO minifigure. To top it all off, a special LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary brick is included, adding a touch of collectability.
The LEGO Star Wars C-3PO (75398) is priced at US$139.99, and is now available for pre-order, with deliveries commencing August 1st, 2024.
Good things come in small packages – this one measures just over 3 inches and packs a powerful blade deployed using one of the most satisfying mechanisms ever. Meet the Tekto A5 Spry Mini, a compact pocket blade with the company’s signature OTF mechanism that lets you deploy your cutting edge with a simple push of a button.
Named after its elder brother the A5 Spry, this mini marvel compresses everything that was great about its predecessor into a more compact, pocket-friendly package. While the original A5 Spry measured a nifty 4.9 inches when closed (and 8.6 inches when open), the A5 Spry Mini condenses it all into a 3.2-inch package that opens up to 5.3 inches, giving you a knife that’s smaller, lighter, more maneuverable, just as strong, and with the same satisfying OTF mechanism that deploys a titanium-coated S35VN steel blade, along with a tungsten steel glass-breaker on the rear to get you out of any sort of emergency.

Tekto A5 Spry vs. A5 Spry Mini
The A5 Spry Mini’s all-metal design is a pleasure for the eyes and the hands. You’ve got a handle machined out of 6061-T6 Aluminum, offering a cool, confident grip thanks to its ergonomic, ambidextrous design. Weighing a little more than knives with G10 or carbon fiber handles, the A5 Spry Mini gives you the confidence of a slightly larger knife while still being deviously compact. A single contoured switch helps deploy its blade, while pushing the switch back retracts the blade back into the handle. The process feels so incredibly tactile and satisfying I wouldn’t be surprised if you never wanted to buy a different flipper knife ever again.
Drop Point Blade
Dagger Blade
Tanto Blade
With the A5 Spry Mini, you have 3 blade styles to choose from – a Dagger-style blade with dual edges, a conventional Drop-point blade that’s an industry standard, and a Tanto-style blade with a faceted edge. You can choose the blade type depending on what you predominantly use your EDC knives for. The dagger style is a great tactical option, the drop-point is arguably the most classic of the lot, and the tanto blade is conventional with a twist. The blade itself is crafted from premium S35VN steel, known for its robustness and edge-retention, and further coated with a titanium layer to make the blades even stronger than before.
Equipped with a tungsten steel ball glass breaker for maximum effectiveness in emergencies. The new design ensures quick, efficient glass shattering, providing reliable safety and accessibility when every second counts.
Forged with a premium S35VN steel and coated in titanium, the A5 Spry Mini blade offers unparalleled durability and edge retention, ensuring reliability and peak performance in any situation.
Move your eyes away from the blade and you see that the A5 Spry Mini’s body comes with a few more surprises, from an ambidextrous pocket clip that can attach itself to either the left or right side of the blade depending on your dominant hand. The rear has one last flourish in the form of a tungsten steel glass breaker that lets you strike at even reinforced or laminated glass (like the ones on cars), causing it to shatter at the point of impact. Absolutely ideal to have in the glove box of your car or even on your person, the A5 Spry Mini is one of those miniature miracles that can be quite a life-saver whether it’s escaping emergencies, surviving tactical or self-defense situations, or just using a folding knife for mundane activities like opening parcels, cutting fruits/veggies, or scraping flint to start a fire. Don’t worry, the mundane won’t feel that way for long given how much hands-on fun Tekto’s OTF mechanism is!

Teenage Engineering has become an inseparable part of the music community in the past decade. Ever since their OP-1 synth debuted on Swedish House Mafia’s music video for their song ‘One’, the company has been on a rise, launching Pocket Operators, recording/playback gear, turntables for children, and even venturing into phones for Nothing and the R1 AI device for Rabbit. Their position in the new-age music industry, however, remains cemented for the next few years to come – but if there’s one device missing from their music-making tech repertoire, it’s a great DJ console. While most people love making music, there’s a case to be made that if you want to connect with your listeners, you need to perform your music too – and deejay consoles help artists do just that. Designed to bridge this product gap, Chris Matthews designed the OP-J, a Teenage Engineering-inspired console for disc jockeys looking to play and remix tunes.
Designer: Chris Matthews
Deejay consoles don’t really need to be portable, but there’s an understated beauty to how sleek the OP-J is. It’s about as thick as its synthesizer sibling, with the same design language running through. You’ve got two rotating discs, knobs, keys, buttons, cross-faders, a speaker, and two screens that guide you through playback as well as effect settings.
Keeping in theme with the company’s focus on music creation, the OP-J allows you to do more than just play and merge tracks. Sure, it’s a pretty capable DJ console, with everything a disc jockey would need to get on stage and drop the bass… but you’ve got 8 keys and 8 more buttons to record/trigger loops, play melodies, or activate certain intros/outros to spice up your songs. Although it isn’t shown here, I wouldn’t be surprised if you could hook the OP-1 to the setup and take your performance to even higher levels.
Color-coded knobs let you control effects and envelopes, while a dedicated display just for the effects lets you monitor what you’re up to. It’s unusual for a DJ console to come with its own speaker, but just in case you want to practice in the privacy of your home or hotel room, the OP-J lets you nerd out without needing a separate speaker system. Yes, audio jacks on the bottom let you hook external speakers if you can, or headphones so you can preview tracks before cueing them.
The OP-J is just a fan-made concept for now, but if someone from Teenage Engineering reads this, we all could use an OP-style deejay console! Besides, let’s also take some time out to appreciate the Darth Vader-esque black and red version below?!
Fourth of July can be a really fun time for the entire country, but a very stressful time for pet parents who have to deal with the extreme anxiety that dogs feel around those loud bangs and other noises. Dogs are highly sensitive to sound, so any loud noises, be it the pop of a firework or even the bang of a thunderstorm, can cause them high amounts of stress. Kirsten Brand nearly lost her dog Emma when a firework show on the 4th of July caused the pet to get so scared that she ran away from home. “After what seemed like hours, we found my furbaby, Emma, down the street. Thankfully, she had been taken into a garage by a neighbor, to ride out the rest of the firework show,” Kirsten mentioned.
That prompted her to design the Pawnix, a pet ‘helmet’ that covers their ears to dampen loud noises, while also playing calming and soothing sounds via Bluetooth. Sort of like ANC Headphones but for dogs, the Pawnix keeps your pets calm with relaxing audio, while also wrapping around their head to make them feel a sense of physical security and comfort.
Improved over various iterations, the Pawnix now comes with a foam-padded neoprene design, similar to the laptop sleeves you usually see people carry their MacBooks in. The helmet, shaped to look almost like a bonnet for your pet, wraps around the dog’s head, with pockets for the ears to fit in. The design works equally well for dogs with all kinds of ears, whether they’re erect, semi-erect, or hanging down. 4-way stretch Anti-microbial fabric with durable stitching means the Pawnix can go without being washed, and can definitely endure your dog trying to scratch at it or take it off.
On the inside, a set of audio drivers with active noise canceling and Bluetooth 5.0 let your dog listen to calming soundscapes instead of loud noises. Pop the headphones on, and you can connect your phone to the Pawnix via Bluetooth, choosing from a variety of calming sounds (you can actually find dog-calming tracks on YouTube). Alternatively, just the Pawnix itself should be able to drown out less intense noises like a dinner party with loud music. The Pawnix comes in 4 colors, and 4 sizes too, although there’s also an option to custom-make a Pawnix for even larger dogs.
It’s safe to say we’ve reached that point in our lives where power is of the utmost essence, and a tiny power bank with 3000mAh of juice just doesn’t cut it anymore. Sure, if your phone needs a battery boost, a nice MagSafe snap-on power bank works well, but here’s the scoop – only 22% of the world uses iPhones, so the idea of MagSafe doesn’t appeal to everyone. Besides, your tiny 3000mAh or 5000mAh power bank won’t charge your laptop, which rather limits its potential, doesn’t it? Well, this new crop of power banks dominating the market have the ability to charge your laptops too, along with obviously your phones, tablets, TWS earbuds, cameras, drones, and gaming consoles. A Xiaomi sub-brand CUKTECH (pronounced ‘cook’ tech) just revealed its slew of power banks that hold enough of a punch to juice even laptops and notebooks. Known for their expertise in energy solutions for EVs and gadgets, the OEM officially merged with ZMI (Xiaomi) in 2022, selling a staggering 150 million power banks to date. The company’s latest series of power banks (dubbed the CUKTECH 10, 15, and 20) are no larger than perhaps a thermos, and can output anywhere up to 140W, which lets you charge every one of your devices. The best part? They’re all flight-safe, which means you can carry them along in your cabin luggage.

CUKTECH 10 – 10,00mAh Power Bank with 100W Output
The most compact of the lot, the CUKTECH 10 comes with an ultra-slick aluminum enclosure that houses a 10,000mAh battery on the inside. Two ports on the top let you charge two devices at the same time, and a TFT display on the front lets you know the power bank’s battery percentage, as well as the power delivery specs for both the ports – so you know what speed your devices are charging at. The CUKTECH 10 has a max output of 100W, which means it’s beefy enough to juice even your pro laptop like a MacBook Pro or even a gaming laptop like the Lenovo Legion Go. The 10,000mAh battery holds enough power to charge your laptop to 50% of its battery (enough to extend your productivity by another 7-8 hours), or alternatively, charge your phone from 0-100% twice. Intelligent PD3.0 allows the CUKTECH 10 to even automatically adjust wattage to each device, ensuring all your gadgets charge at their highest AND safest power limits. This means the power bank intuitively knows to give your laptop a 100W power boost, while giving your smartphone anywhere between 35 to 60W depending on its make. Other gadgets like a Nintendo Switch get their maximum 15W power limit.
Measuring just 5.63-inches long, the CUKTECH 10 balances size with capacity wonderfully. It’s small enough to slide into your pocket, and definitely fits comfortably into your laptop bag while carrying. The power bank itself charges at a speed of 90W, allowing you to get it up to 55% in just under 15 minutes, or 100% in roughly half an hour. That’s pretty impressive, if you ask me.

CUKTECH 15 – 20,00mAh Power Bank with 150W Output
For people who just want a little more oomph, the CUKTECH 15 upgrades your power bank to 20,000mAh, with a 150W output. This battery upgrade lets you last a little longer without needing to plug into a power outlet. At 20,000mAh, you can practically charge your entire laptop from 0-100%, or give your phone a 4x battery boost.
The CUKTECH 15 sports the same, slick, all-metal design as its smaller counterpart (it even holds a Red Dot Design Award). A bigger battery means a larger device, but not by much. It’s still portable enough to fit right into backpacks without occupying too much space. The CUKTECH 15 comes with a smaller screen though, showing only the battery percentage of the power bank (after all, that’s the most important metric, right?), but gives you 3 ports instead of 2, letting you charge as many as three concurrent devices. That’s where the 150W magic kicks in, delivering fast-charging capabilities to all your devices in a measured manner. That means your laptop gets 100W, while your iPhone gets 35W, and 15W gets diverted to your TWS earbuds or smartwatch. That kind of PD (or power delivery) means being able to charge your MacBook Air to 50% in under 30 minutes… or having your phone charged to 100% in the same amount of time. The CUKTECH 15 supports pass-through charging as well, and charges at 90W, which means your power bank charges just about as fast as your laptop, going to 50% in just half an hour. When all’s said and done, it slides right into your backpack, and can be carried on flights as a part of your cabin luggage.

CUKTECH 20 – 25,00mAh Power Bank with 140W Output
Although its name probably implies it has a 20,000mAh battery, the CUKTECH actually packs a whopping 25,000mAh banger on the inside, offering the highest capacity of the series. With flagship-grade specs, the power bank has the same all-metal design aesthetic that gives it the sleek demeanor, but also comes with a larger, more informative screen, and a transparent window that lets you look at the electronics inside. Talk about futuristic with a touch of cyberpunk.
Easily the coolest-looking power bank in the lineup, the CUKTECH 20 is also the most feature-packed. More than twice the amount of battery as its smallest sibling, the CUKTECH 20 is ideally for travelers who don’t spend too much time tethered to one single place. This makes carrying chargers and multiple adapters difficult, which means having a high-capacity power bank for your entire tech setup is the wisest option. The CUKTECH 20 stands at about 6.3 inches tall, making it still a fairly compact power bank that fits right into your backpack or stands on your work surface. The large battery is enough to juice a laptop as well as a smartphone from 0-100 at the same time (or charge your smaller devices multiple times over), and a combined power output of 140W allows you to fast-charge all your devices while balancing power requirements fairly well. That’s where the power bank’s large TFT screen comes in handy too, allowing you to see battery levels, power outputs, and even charge times. Three ports (one USB-A and two USB-C) let you juice three devices together, or pass-through charge two devices while your CUKTECH 20 is plugged into a power outlet. Like its predecessors, the CUKTECH 20 is flight-safe too, and comes with multiple safety protocols that protect the power bank itself as well as the devices it’s charging from overheating, short-circuiting, and a whole list of other potential issues. The power bank even ships with its own carrying pouch, and a whopping 240W USB-C cable that you can use to charge any of your devices.

A perfect accessory to have around you to celebrate the release of what could be the most highly anticipated Marvel movie since Endgame, these TWS earbuds come literally shaped to look like Deadpool’s mask. Designed by the folks at boAt Lifestyle, the Immortal 121 earbuds (that’s a fun name) have cutting-edge features bundled in a package that just costs Rs. 1699 INR ($20.35 USD). You’re looking at 40 hours of playback (with the charging case), 40 milliseconds of latency, Bluetooth 5.3, adjustable EQ, IPx4 water resistance, and a game-changing 10-minute charging time so you’re never out of energy… just like the overtly verbose hitman in red.
The Immortal 121 launched back in December 2023, but only recently saw a Deadpool-specific edition. The design for the most part remains unchanged, but call it a coincidence that the earbuds case lends itself perfectly to the shape of the Deadpool mask. In fact, the two black eye patches are actually transparent tinted too, letting you somewhat peek into the case to see the earbuds.
The TWS earbuds themselves are exceptional for their price point, especially coming from India’s largest audio hardware company. 10mm drivers deliver a frequency range of 20Hz-20,000Hz, while touch-sensitive sides let you control music playback, volume, and answer/reject calls. The earphones themselves deliver 180 minutes of listening time, while the case brings that up to 40 hours. boAt’s ASAP Charge feature lets you enable 10-minute fast-charging when you’re in a rush. With the ASAP Charge disabled, the case will take 1.5 hours to charge from 0 to 100, helping conserve battery health in the process.
Other features on the Immortal 121 include boAt’s Beast Mode, which gives the earbuds 40ms of latency for wireless audio while gaming. The earbuds come with adjustable EQ, quad mics for clear voice calls, ENx or environmental noise cancellation, and a feature every gamer will love, LEDs that glow to make the case come to life!
All that in a $20 pair of TWS earbuds is highly impressive… and that ISN’T including the fact that the case literally looks like Deadpool’s mask. The boAt Immortal 121 Deadpool Edition rings in the upcoming Deadpool vs. Wolverine movie that launches on the 26th of this month. boAt sells a Hulk edition of the Immortal 121 too, but that honestly doesn’t feel as perfect as this match made in heaven!
Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. Sure, your first instinct is to think of the famed sculptors and painters of the Italian Renaissance… but for a very specific generation, these names conjured up images of four turtles, fighting crime while snacking on NY slices in their sewer bunkers. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were an absolute craze in the 80s and 90s, rivaling He-Man, GI Joe, and the Transformers for air-time on television. The premise, absurd at best, but it resonated wonderfully with a section of pre-teens and teens looking for something to validate their sense of rebellion. Four vigilante turtles, mutated to have humanoid characteristics, fought crime on the streets of NY using only an eclectic blend of martial arts and martial weapons. LEGO builder Teljesnegyzet decided to give these crime-fighting creatures their very own LEGO-based action figure set. Behold the LEGO Ideas TMNT kit, a rather accurate representation of the four turtles in their superhero garb. The set features the turtles in their four colored bandanas and bands, with their weapons of choice. Each turtle has a belt with their initials labeled on the buckle, and they’re even color-matched to their originals, showcasing four shades of green!
Designer: Teljesnegyzet
The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles burst onto the scene in the late 1980s, captivating audiences with their unique blend of action, humor, and teenage angst. The concept revolved around four anthropomorphic turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, trained in the art of ninjutsu by their rat sensei, Splinter. Together, they battled the villainous Shredder and his Foot Clan in the sewers of New York City, fueled by their love for pizza.
The LEGO Ideas MOC (My Own Creation) captures the essence of the classic TMNT characters. The concept features buildable figures of all four turtles, each equipped with their signature weapons. Leonardo wields his katanas, Raphael his sai, Donatello his bo staff, and Michelangelo his nunchakus. While official build instructions aren’t available, judging from similar LEGO minifigure designs, we can expect the figures to stand around 4-5 inches tall and feature a range of articulation points for dynamic posing. Designer Teljesnegyzet does mention that the entire superhero quartet takes about 2522 bricks in total, which makes it a fairly complex build, but then again, nobody under the age of 20 will probably even remember the TMNT craze, right? (Not even the atrocious 2014 film with Megan Fox)
Teljesnegyzet’s fan-made build currently sits on the LEGO Ideas forum, an online community where LEGO enthusiasts gather to share their creations and vote for their favorites. With just over 1,700 votes, Teljesnegyzet’s MOC is looking to gradually hit the coveted 10,000 vote mark, following which LEGO’s internal team may turn it into a box-set that anyone can buy.
