KPop Demon Hunters’ First LEGO Set Is the Duo We Didn’t Expect

It’s been months since LEGO first announced that they were releasing KPop Demon Hunters sets, but we haven’t heard anything new, until now. The first of what we assume will be multiple sets will finally be arriving this summer, and surprisingly, it doesn’t feature the main characters of the animated global hit. Instead, the spotlight goes to two breakout characters that fans absolutely loved, even though they didn’t have a single spoken line: the magical tiger and his loyal bird companion.

The Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set brings the beloved “pets” to LEGO life, letting kids and grown-ups alike assemble their favorite animated duo. It’s been about a year since Netflix released the surprise hit that captured the hearts and playlists of fans everywhere, so it’s only fitting that we’re finally getting the first build. While plenty of fans were hoping for Huntrix- or Saja Boys-focused sets, this one is undeniably adorable and will be a treat for both devoted KPop Demon Hunters fans and lovers of eye-catching LEGO builds in general.

Designer: LEGO

This build is recommended for kids 9 and above, which naturally includes the passionate adult fan base the movie has earned. With 825 pieces, it’s a manageable build that won’t overwhelm beginners while still offering enough complexity to keep experienced builders engaged. For Derpy Tiger, you can choose between two different expressions: have him sport his signature goofy grin or let him deliver a love note on his tongue, just like he did when passing important messages between Rumi and Jinu. The build also features several movable parts, including Derpy’s head, legs, and paws, as well as the magpie’s rotating neck and posable feet, so you can truly bring the characters’ personalities to life and pose them exactly the way you like. For those who prefer digital instructions, the set is also compatible with the LEGO Builder app, where you can zoom in, rotate in 3D, and track your progress as you go.

You also get a handful of accessories to help recreate some of the most iconic scenes featuring the two magical animals. The set includes two love notes and the flowerpot that triggered Derpy’s now-legendary OCD moment as it kept tipping over, a detail that will immediately bring a smile to any devoted fan’s face. These accessories can be tucked away in a hidden compartment inside Derpy’s head, a charming little Easter egg for builders to discover. The set measures over 8.5 in. (21 cm) high, 6 in. (15 cm) long, and 6 in. (15 cm) wide, and that’s with Sussie perched right on top of Derpy’s head, exactly where you’d expect to find her in the movie anyway.

Priced at $69.99, the Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set is available for pre-order now and is set to ship starting August 1, 2026. For a build packed with this much detail and charm, the price feels more than reasonable, especially when you factor in the movie-accurate accessories and the dual-expression feature that gives the set real replay value. Just note that LEGO has placed a limit of 3 per household on this one, which only adds to its collectible appeal. Whether you’re picking it up for a young fan in your life or treating yourself to a piece of KPop Demon Hunters history, this set delivers on both the play and display front.

As the very first LEGO set from the KPop Demon Hunters line, it also signals exciting things to come. If this is how LEGO is kicking things off, with fan-favorite side characters, clever hidden details, and a display-worthy design, then future sets are going to be worth every bit of the wait. Here’s hoping that a Huntrix or Saja Boys set is already in the works, because if the demand for this one is any indication, the KPop Demon Hunters x LEGO collaboration is only just getting started. Consider this your sign to go ahead and hit that pre-order button.
