ESR Releases Hot New MagSafe Chargers with next-gen CryoBoost™ Cooling Tech

Battery life continues to be the bane of smartphone users, and the current limits of technology mean we can only cram bigger batteries inside these slim devices. Charging technologies alleviate the pain with faster charging times, while wireless charging offers convenience and comfort free from the tangles of wires. Even Apple’s MagSafe, however, has to follow the laws of physics, generating heat that not only slows down charging but also puts your safety at risk. With its brand new Qi2 MagSafe chargers, ESR is delivering safe and fast wireless charging thanks to its next-gen CryoBoost™™ technology that ensures a stable and cool charging experience without messy cables.

Designer: ESR

CryoBoost™: The Coolest, The Fastest MagSafe Charging

Charging will always generate heat, and wireless charging even more so. Not only is this dangerous, as the volatile batteries inside our phones are very sensitive to heat, it also means slower charging times because the phone and the charger might throttle output to prevent overheating. The most common solution for wireless charger manufacturers is to cool down the charger with fans, but these also rely on natural heat transfer to lower the phone’s temperature. This results in very inefficient cooling and, in some cases, condensation that could damage the phone and the battery.

With the latest iteration of its CryoBoost™ technology, ESR promises a smarter way to keep things cool. In addition to an advanced cooling fan with heat dissipation elements, it now features a patented all-open duct design that enhances airflow while also keeping the noise under 25dB, no louder than a whisper from five feet away. By directing the airflow to the back of the phone, ESR chargers with CryoBoost™ are able to keep the phone cooler more effectively, ensuring consistent maximum charging speeds all the time.

ESR 3-in-1 MagSafe Charger with Qi2 and CryoBoost™ (HaloLock)

Almost beating Apple at its own game, this new ESR 3-in-1 charger with Qi2 and CryoBoost™ offers 15W iPhone charging that tops up an iPhone 15 Pro Max to full in just 2 hours, at least a 30-minute improvement over most Qi2 chargers. Thanks to an Apple-certified 5W fast-charging for the Apple Watch, even an Apple Watch Ultra chargers in just an hour and 40 minutes, four times faster than standard 2.5W chargers that take more than 6 hours to finish. There’s also room for AirPods on the base, keeping all your essential Apple mobile devices charging in one place. The sleek minimalist design doesn’t get in the way of your desk or bedroom motif, providing an elegant visual point of interest wherever it makes its presence seen.

ESR MagSafe Car Charger with Qi2 and CryoBoost™ (HaloLock)

Charging a phone inside a car tends to get even hotter when the phone is also being used for GPS navigation. With ESR’s new MagSafe Car Charger with Qi2 and CryoBoost™, those worries are a thing of the past. The 15W charger can fill up an iPhone 15 Pro Max in just 2 hours and 7 minutes, and that’s while using GPS even. That’s more than an hour faster than most Qi2 car chargers, and about 35 minutes faster than Qi2 car chargers that have cooling fans. What makes this ESR Car Charger even more special are the 18 extra-strong N52 magnets that won’t lose their hold on the no matter how bumpy the ride gets. Plus, air vent and dashboard mounting options offer flexibility that adjusts to your car and driving style, not the other way around.

ESR Qi2 MagSlim Kickstand Power Bank 5,000mAh

Featuring a multiple award-winning built-in kickstand design, the 5,000mAh ESR Qi2 MagSlim Kickstand Power Bank is the slimmest Qi2 charger on the market and is perfect when you’re on the go. The 15W charger can get an iPhone 15 Pro to 84% in just 2 hours and 25 minutes. With a built-in kickstand and a powerful magnetic hold of up to 1,200g, you can conveniently watch videos or chat with colleagues without having to worry about running out of battery. And at only 15.5mm thick, the ESR Qi2 MagSlim Kickstand Power Bank can easily slip into bags or even pockets, ready to charge your phone anytime you need it.

Elago Game Boy style MagSafe iPhone charger looks fun but comes up short

Nostalgia is a powerful emotion, as proven by the number of successful crowdfunded projects and launched products that try to capitalize on this ongoing retro trend, especially in the gaming industry. Vintage designs of the past are today’s quirky oddities, and there are many who are quick to jump on the bandwagon. While many of these retro designs try to also recreate the experience of holding a real gaming console or turntable with some modern features and conveniences, others are just content to copy the aesthetics of old-school products and leave it at that. This MagSafe iPhone charger might be in that latter category, and while it is charming in the way it brings back fun, playful memories, it could have probably gone further if it really wanted to.

Designer: Elago

To be fair, the Elago WS M5 Charging Stand does exactly what it says it does, which is to offer a fun MagSafe charger in the design of the Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP. In that regard, it does its job well, providing a stable and useful stand for charging the phone. The fixed 30-degree angle, for example, is claimed to be perfect for watching videos or using iOS Standby Mode at night. It even has helpful support on its back to prevent the charger from tipping backward from the weight of the phone.

Elago never claimed that the stand was a functional gaming device, despite all visual indicators. It’s simply meant to inspire a trip down memory lane and nothing more. The buttons do nothing and you can’t fold the charger close like the original handheld it was based on. For a $25 MagSafe charging stand, that’s a bit disappointing. It sort of raises expectations and then dashes them quickly, making those good old days really feel more like a distant memory.

It’s also a missed opportunity for innovation and distinction. Sure, it won’t make much sense to turn it into a makeshift game controller, but having the buttons trigger some action on the phone or do anything at all is significantly better than making you feel like an idiot for expecting that a button press would actually result in something. A clamshell design would have also made this charging stand a bit more portable while relying on a kickstand mechanism to provide that same stability and support.

What this Game Boy-like MagSafe charger really accomplishes is to demonstrate the biggest benefit of this magnetic wireless charging technology. Sure, charging without cables is convenient, but its speed still leaves a lot to be desired. Instead, it’s the freedom to design a wider variety of accessories, from chargers to stands to docks, that MagSafe really shines, and this Elago WS M5, underwhelming as it might be, is just the tip of the iceberg of what’s possible.

This MagSafe SSD doubles as PowerBank and USB-C Hub, Revolutionizing Storage Solutions for everyone

The MagDisk is a device that really shows how far technology has come. It brings together a MagSafe-compatible SSD, a power bank, and a USB-C hub, making it more than just another gadget. It shows that technology is getting more integrated, packing storage, power, and connectivity into one sleek package.

Designer: EON Electronics

Click Here to Buy Now: Starting at $109 $149 (27% off). Hurry, only a few left! Raised over $185,000.

The MagDisk stands out due to its storage capacity, ranging from 512GB to an impressive 4TB, making it suitable for everyday users and avid content creators. However, its real strength lies in its speed – it can read and write data at speeds of up to 2,000MB/s, courtesy of USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 technology.

This feature is particularly beneficial for those who work with large files, such as video editors and photographers, as it significantly reduces data transfer times, allowing you to resume work sooner.

Pairing the MagDisk with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max ensures ample storage and extra battery life when needed. As an iPhone user for over a decade, I’ve witnessed its evolution into a powerful tool for content creators worldwide. The iPhone 15 series sets a new standard with its 48MP camera, marking a significant stride in mobile photography.

In addition to its impressive photo capabilities, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max stand out in video capture, thanks to Apple Log and ACES (Academy Color Encoding System). ACES, a global color standard used in major films, provides unrivaled color accuracy to smartphone videography, rivaling professional equipment. Apple Log further enhances this by capturing a broader color spectrum, producing videos with balanced High Dynamic Range (HDR) and rich details. However, high-quality recording requires ample storage, and that’s where the MagDisk comes in. It pairs seamlessly with the latest iPhones, allowing users to capture high-resolution photos and videos, supported by fast and reliable storage. The MagDisk offers sufficient storage space for large video files. This ensures users can fully utilize the iPhone’s advanced video features without worrying about storage, paving the way for new possibilities in mobile content creation.

The MagDisk offers varying recording times depending on the model: 34 minutes on the 512GB drive, 69 minutes on the 1TB, 138 minutes on the 2TB, and 278 minutes on the 4TB version. Personally, I would choose the 4TB version to prevent running out of storage during crucial projects. The design of the MagDisk is both stylish and practical. Made from a rugged aluminum alloy, it’s strong but not heavy and resists corrosion and UV damage. This means it’s built to last, whether you’re using it in a professional studio or out in the field.

The MagDisk is a versatile device that serves as a wireless power bank and is compatible with MagSafe. It has a 2400mAh capacity and Qi2 certification, making it faster and more efficient than traditional Qi wireless chargers. This feature significantly benefits anyone who relies on their devices all day, whether a busy parent or a professional videographer. The MagDisk is compatible with both Apple’s Find My and Android’s Find My Device networks. This allows users to track their devices using encrypted Bluetooth signals, ensuring that valuable data remains secure and accessible. This feature is handy for those who frequently travel for events and projects, where the risk of misplacing our devices is always present.

Another crucial feature of the MagDisk Pro is its Dynamic Thermal Guard technology. This feature maintains the device’s safe operating temperature, crucial for its high-speed performance and data-heavy tasks like 4K60 video recording. It protects the device and safeguards the stored data while keeping the surface temperature low. This adherence to the international safety standard IEC62368-1 ensures users won’t suffer from low-temperature burns during use.

It’s noteworthy that MagDisk also includes a genuine USB Type-C cable. This is significant because not all USB-C cables provide the same data transfer speed or charging rate. The company suggests using the provided cable to ensure the best performance and to prevent the device from being recognized.

In our technologically driven world, the integration of various tech advancements is key to making our lives easier. The MagDisk is a perfect example of this. Not only is it an excellent external hard drive, but it also seamlessly interfaces with other technologies like gaming consoles. Moreover, it offers interoperability between Android and iOS. The team recently announced that MagDisk now fully supports Android devices for external storage during filming. This is achieved through the use of apps like mcpro24, similar to the capabilities enjoyed by iPhone 15 Pro users.

In simple terms, the MagDisk is not just a new gadget on Kickstarter. It shows how technology is evolving and connecting us. It has various uses – storage, wireless charging, and easy tracking. As we keep adapting to new technology, devices like MagDisk will become standard in our daily lives, shaping our everyday use of technology.

Twelve South Butterfly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger has a cute and ingenious design

Apple’s MagSafe magnetic wireless charging technology has literally changed the face of charging accessories. Freed from the shackles of multiple cables, manufacturers have come up with creative designs that marry aesthetics and functionality in ways not possible before. And yes, there are even portable MagSafe chargers that let you bring that convenience anywhere you go. This category is still a bit young, and there haven’t been that many designs apart from foldable squares or small cubes. The latest entry from Twelve South, however, pushes the envelope of portable wireless chargers with a rather cute design that adds some unexpected functionality that you’ll come to appreciate, even if you can’t charge three devices all at once.

Designer: Twelve South

The Twelve South Butterfly is hardly what you’d expect to be a charger of any sort with its elegant circular design. Made from durable anodized aluminum on the outside, the Butterfly looks more like an accessory designed for MacBooks rather than a charger. Open up the two halves of the circle and you’re greeted with vegan leather material that’s meant to both add class to the product but also protect the devices you’ll be placing on top of them. These two halves are joined by a stylish leather strap to complete the rather posh picture that it paints.

Each half, of course, hides a wireless charger inside. One side can charge compatible iPhones with 15W power as well as AirPods with wireless charging cases. The other half holds a 5W Apple Watch Charger that can be flipped up to let you see the watch even while it’s charging. This Watch charger can also juice up the AirPods Pro 2nd gen so that you can charge it and an iPhone at the same time. Yes, this design’s biggest flaw is that it can only charge two devices simultaneously, though that might not be such a problem for most people.

The Twelve South Butterfly, however, has another secret feature. If you fold the halves in the opposite direction and make the outer covers touch, you can use the charger as a makeshift stand as well. This lets you activate the iPhone’s Standby mode or the Apple Watch’s Nightstand Mode without having to use a different accessory. Of course, you can also use this method to prop up the iPhone for watching videos and whatnot even if you won’t be charging it.

Twelve South packs a 30W power adapter in the box for good measure, but you can also use power banks for the ultimate portable charging experience. There’s a braided 1-meter USB-C cable that matches the charger’s elegant looks while also providing durability. The Twelve South Butterfly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger sells for $129.99 and definitely carries a design that matches that price tag.

Belkin’s Newest 15W 2-in-1 BoostCharge Pro MagSafe Stand Has a Contemporary Look

The iPhone 15-era refresh of Belkin’s 2-in-1 BoostCharge Pro MagSafe charger stand is arriving next week, and (right off the bat) it’s a smooth, stylish mix of contemporary sand (or charcoal) elements complemented by a sort of organic minimalism. In a departure from previous Belkin MagSafe chargers, this compact silicone charging stand incorporates soft, round shapes on both the charger base as well as a new flip-up 15W MagSafe pad. That means it can fit in any modern space, like a living room or a bedroom with a lot of similar organic elements, like stone walls and wooden furniture.

Designer: Belkin (via Apple)

The flip-up design on the top pad allows the Belkin charger to show off the iPhone 15’s screen while StandBy mode is engaged, turning your new iPhone into a piece of room decor like a stationary clock. That same design even lets you adjust the angle of the top pad between 0 and 70 degrees, and of course, you can rotate your iPhone to lay vertically or horizontally on the pad itself while the phone charges.

You can stick your Apple Watch Series 9 (or any other fast-charging Apple Watch, like the Ultra 2) on the second fast-charging pad behind the base, and together the whole thing ends up looking like a really elegant piece of art, adding ambiance rather than sitting around like a high-tech paperweight. Its non-slip base can also help keep it rooted firmly in place during an event such as an earthquake — or an accidental collision between the BoostCharge Pro and a household pet.

Belkin’s new BoostCharge Pro MagSafe chargers for Apple’s newest lineup of iPhone 15s (though iPhone 14s also work with it!) are officially set to release on November 7, alongside the all-new Apple M3 computers announced on October 30. In the box, you’ll find an included 5 ft USB-C cable and 30W USB-C power supply to plug the charger into. You can currently view the new chargers on Apple’s web store, where their $129.95 MSRP is already displayed. It doesn’t seem like either the charcoal or sand colorways are pre-orderable at the moment, though more retail options will become available — including, presumably, from the Belkin store — once the charger officially releases on November 7.
