Writing something down by hand, right when it occurs to you, is still the fastest way to keep an idea from slipping away. Digital apps, meanwhile, have the opposite problem: the moment you unlock your phone to jot something down, you’re one notification away from forgetting why you opened it.

New Things Lab, a design studio from the Netherlands, built a direct answer to that problem. The MEMO Whiteboard Wallet is a precision-machined aluminum card holder with a dry-erase surface built directly into its face, giving you a pocket-sized board that’s always ready when a thought strikes. The concept earned quite a following from people who immediately understood what it was for.

The whiteboard spans 6 inches diagonally, just over A7 in size, and it’s coated with a smooth, heat-cured paint that cleans up without ghosting. It’s large enough to be genuinely useful but slim enough not to add awkward bulk. On a given day, you might use it to jot down a measurement, scribble a password for a guest, or keep a short list of things you’d otherwise forget by lunch.

Writing on the surface is handled by an included 0.8mm fine-point pen that stores in a dedicated slot built right into the wallet’s frame, so it’s always within reach when you need it. Flip the pen around, and there’s an eraser on the other end, making the MEMO genuinely self-contained. You’re not hunting for something to wipe the board with, and there’s no spare piece you’d misplace in a bag.

On the other side of the MEMO is the actual card-carrying section, with room for up to six standard cards and a magnetic closure that keeps everything neatly shut. The body is milled from 6063 aluminum, giving it a solid, premium feel without adding unnecessary weight or thickness. That same metal shell also blocks RFID signals, protecting your card data from electronic skimming without needing any additional sleeve or pouch.

The moments when you need a tool but only have a wallet happen more often than they should. A loose bolt on a bike, a box that refuses to open cleanly, a bottle cap mocking you at a picnic. Most multi-tools either live in drawers at home or look like mini weapons, which is not always the vibe you want in a pocket, especially when all you need is something to tighten a screw or slice through packing tape.

Lucky Jack’s Happy Guy card is a flat, credit-card-sized multi-tool that lives in your wallet until something needs fixing, opening, or prying. It is part of the Adventure Card series, USA-designed for everyday adventure, and the cutouts form a smiling face that makes the whole thing feel more like a friendly sidekick than a piece of tactical gear. The grin is not just decorative since it is where all the tools hide.

The face is not just for show. The eyes and nose double as nine different hex wrenches in both metric and imperial sizes, ready for furniture bolts or gear adjustments. Along the edges, you get a box cutter and line cutter for tape and cord, a flat screwdriver tip, a pry edge, a nail puller for small jobs, plus a can opener and a bottle-friendly mouth for when the work is done and the drinks come out.

The toothed section along one edge earns its keep for cyclists. It is sized for common spoke nipples, so if a wheel goes slightly out of true mid-ride, you can nudge it back without carrying a full tool roll. It is not a replacement for a proper workshop truing stand, but it is a lot better than limping home on a wobbly rim or calling someone to pick you up because three spokes are loose.

Happy Guy is thin enough to slip into a standard wallet slot, but also ships with a magnetic backing so you can park it on a toolbox lid, fridge, or van wall. That means it can live wherever you are most likely to need a quick fix, from a workshop corner to a camp kitchen, without rattling around loose or disappearing under a pile of gear you forgot existed.

This PokéDex Wallet Holds 3 Pokémon Cards Along With Your Cash And Childhood Nostalgia

More like Gotta Cash ‘Em All, am I right?! Say hello to by far the nerdiest wallet I’ve ever had the pleasure to set my eyes on. Made for clearly Pokémon lovers, this wallet takes inspiration from one of the most crucial gadgets in the Pokémon universe – the PokéDex. Designed to look almost identical to the flip-based device used to identify the Pokémon you see around you, this wallet comes from the mind of Jalonisdead, with slots to hold (and display) your Pokémon cards along with your banknotes.

The wallet comes in a bifold format in that unmistakeable red finish, with a design to match the PokéDex perfectly. When shut, it looks like a red PokéDex waiting to be opened. Flip the lid open and you’re greeted with a card window on the left that you can use to store the card of your choice. The window lines up perfectly with the card’s graphic, making it look like you’ve ‘spotted’ that Pokémon. Meanwhile, faux graphics on the wallet look almost identical to the gadget from the game/series.

There’s space for multiple cards, although the one front-and-center is clearly for a Pokémon card. Two other slots on the right side can be used for payment and I’d cards too – this is a wallet after all. A slot on the top holds banknotes, although I wish there were place for coins too. The unusual shape lends itself perfectly to wallet use, and I’m surprised nobody at Nintendo thought of cashing in on this idea.

Each wallet costs in the ballpark of $56 USD, and ships in authentic Pokémon card-style packaging, along with 4 Pokémon cards in mint condition. Jalonisdead (the maker) isn’t a massive company, so each wallet is made-to-order and probably by hand too. This means the turnaround time for delivery is anywhere up to 2 months, but for a Pokémon aficionado, I’m sure it’s a small price to pay for perhaps what might be the coolest wallet I’ve seen in years!

What makes the Planbok genuinely useful is the front slip pocket with a hidden slim clip. Not all of these are still working per se since there’s a reason why they became outdated but that doesn’t mean they can’t come back in one form or another. It’s a magnetic wallet that you can snap on to the back of your MagSafe iPhone (from the 12, 13, 14, and 15 series) where you can store up to two cards. It has RFID blocking material so yur cards will not be affected by electromagnetic waves.

What makes this silicone magnetic wallet unique is that its design is inspired by Nintendo’s Game Boy which will bring on the nostalgic feels for anyone who has played this classic gaming console at one time or another.
