Zippo Fire Starting Multi-Tool will you be your best friend for those camping nights

If you’ve ever gone camping, chances are you probably had to start a fire for your cooking or smores needs. As someone who has never have done this but have seen enough movies and TV shows where people struggle with it, I can only guess that it’s pretty challenging if you don’t have the right tools or if you actually don’t know how to do it. It also has a 420 high-carbon steel knife blade and a double cut saw blade that should let you cut through things like branches which you also need to kindle the fire.

You should be able to start up to 15 fires at 1 inch each or 12 fires at 3 cm each with what’s included in this tool , which includes 1 flint. It also comes with a fire paracord and bail with an attachment point. For non-fire things, there is a bottle opener and screwdriver so you can enjoy a bottle of beer once the fire has been started.

While a good majority of furniture and electronics do use a small subset of screws available in the world, you never know when you’ll actually come across one that your two or three screwdrivers can’t handle. Leatherman’s pocket knife with interchangeable blades is made for discovering new adventures

Outdoorsy enthusiasts swear by the Leatherman knifes for their durability and the ability to stay sharp for a lifetime. Fusing them up with an array of multitools brings more possibilities of use on adventures unknown or simply for usual tasks at home. The Portland, Oregon-based company has made a name for itself, and to explore the possibilities of multitools and knives, they have created the Garage division.

Their latest experimental creation is the Batch #003: PARTS multipurpose tool with its unique set of features. A folding knife at heart, the multitool ventures into the world of interchangeable blade options for an EDC.

According to Leatherman, their motive is to create the best folding knife out there from the current inventory of products in-house. The result, a multipurpose tool crafted out of 26 parts. It gets an innovative interchangeable blade system to swap compatible blades for the needed task at hand. All this while being ergonomically comfortable and highly functional to the last bit. The EDC gets the G10 handle for a better grip.

For starters, the knife can be swapped between the premium S30V stainless steel workblade for hardcore tasks or the 154CM blade tailored for normal household tasks. The two can be swapped via a Torx #6 drive bit, #8 Torx drive bit, and a standard bit driver. These are included in the EDC lanyard to keep everything handy and accessible when most needed.

According to Leatherman, the 3 oz. blade is very easy to launch from the slim and lightweight frame. When not in use it can be kept safe in the G-10 glass laminate scales. I’m sure the blades of the multitool are going to last down the generations too. Just if Leatherman could have included other essential multitools like a screwdriver, scissor, and bottle opener – the utility would have increased three-folds. That I say considering the steep price tag of $230 – but then it’s a Leatherman accessory!

The A10 wallet backplate (crafted from 6061 aerospace aluminum) also functions as a RFID blocker, so you can keep up to 4 cards safely inside the horizontal rail mechanism. Just so that you know, the MT05 Multi-Tool slips into the DTEX Holster to morph A10 Adapt wallet into a survival tool.

Getting the slot for the credit cards is the most interesting feature here, since the user doesn’t even need to remove the A10 Holster Backplate and the MT05 multitool to access them. There’s a dedicated finger insert to slide them out without any worries. This insert also functions as a grip for additional support while using any of the MT05 multi-tool.

The compact size and the ease of usability of this accessory sets it apart from other EDCs that are more or less designed in the same way, with virtually the same functions with some minor tweaks. Having a price tag of $50 is another aspect that’ll keep the EDC collectors interested.

Because Star Trek is just as determined as Star Wars to have every product made available with their own theme, here is an officially licensed Klingon Bat’leth 6-in-1 multi-tool. The tool, available on Amazon (affiliate link), features a bottle opener, three different hex wrenches, a flat head screwdriver, a Phillips head screwdriver, a cord cutter, and a butterfly wrench. Unfortunately, an award-winning forehead is not included.

Will I be replacing my everyday-carry multi-tool with this one? I’m not sure; my current multi-tool is a 10-in-1, so that’s four more tools I wouldn’t be carrying. Plus, that one has pliers, and pliers are one of the tools I use most often. That and the tweezers. I get a lot of splinters because I don’t believe in shoes.

I do love the form factor. You know, I actually tried building my own full-scale bat’leth weapon last summer but abandoned the project when I realized there was slim to little chance it would end without me losing fingers. At least I’m realistic.

Dubbed Cam & Dowel Jig, Kingfisher designed the tool kit to help families and young couples build space-saving pieces of furniture that fit their home’s style and available floor space. Without the proper knowledge over where and how to acquire quality timber, the best means for measuring that timber, or even how to slice it, there’s no way we can design and construct our own furniture. That’s where Cam & Dowel Jig steps in.

The different jigs that comprise Cam & Dowel’s tool kit have been designed to streamline the process of constructing specific furniture pieces. For instance, the Shelf Jig keeps a T-shape that indicates accurate hole positions and depths for each piece to come together in the shape of a shelf. Describing the preset nature of each jig, the designers at Kingfisher note, “Numbered hole positions on the jig correspond to the relevant drill bit, ensuring precise hole positions are achieved for the supplied cam and dowel hardware.”
