This Pininfarina Racing Rig Concept might be the most Gorgeous Simulator Setup ever made

The problem with racing simulator rigs are that they aren’t designed by automotive designers, they’re designed by gamers. Most sim-racers are fairly utilitarian looking, with an almost bare-basics cockpit-inspired design focusing on real-world feel. The most aesthetic part is almost always the driver’s seat, and everything else looks like a naked chassis. Not the Pininfarina Formula though… designed by Fabio Bilotta, this concept piece brings the world of automotive art and gaming together to create a rig so unique it’ll garner stares the same way a hypercar does.

Designer: Fabio Bilotta

The Pininfarina Formula combines sleek aesthetics with user-centered functionality. Paying homage to the iconic shape of the Istanbul Air Traffic Control Tower, it embodies a blend of sophistication and dynamism. The secret to the Pininfarina Formula’s sculptural beauty lies in its meticulous material selection. Carbon fiber offers a perfect balance of strength and lightness, while reinforced plywood ensures long-lasting durability. Stainless steel adds a touch of class, and genuine leather elevates the experience with a luxurious feel.

The Pininfarina Formula models itself ergonomically on Formula 1 cars, positioning the user’s feet at shoulder height for optimal control and mimicking the posture of professional racers. But it doesn’t stop there. The setup is designed to adapt to individual needs. The pedal sledge and steering wheel housing are both fully adjustable, allowing users of all heights and preferences to find their perfect racing position.

Whether you prefer the immersive world of virtual reality or the classic experience of a traditional screen, the Pininfarina Formula caters to your taste. Its adaptable design seamlessly integrates with different gaming setups, ensuring you can enjoy your favorite racing titles in the way that suits you best. The setup comes without a wheel or pedals, giving you the ability to attach your own, based on your preferences as well as your budget… although if you’re splurging on a Pininfarina-inspired rig, is money really an object for you?!

This electric Pinnifarina hot rod boasts hubless wheels and aerodynamic design

Pininfarina has been at the forefront of future automotive trends influencing the steady design evolution of brands Ferrari, Alpha Romeo, Maserati and Peugeot. Having its roots as a coachbuilder for prancing horses, the Italian marque has personified luxury and elegance with customization dating back to the 1930s.

The in-house developed electric hypercar Pinnifarina Batista (a tribute to the owner) is a testament to that fact. Now, yet another concept proposed for the brand caught our attention. It’s a compact urban microcar targeted for people who are tech-savvy, health conscious and prefer a minimal lifestyle.

Designer: Kanishq Palav

This two-seater electric vehicle riding on hubless wheels and a high ride height has a very compact footprint to navigate crowded city sections with ease. Unlike some similar previous designs, this concept pokes the realms of practicality. The riders are encapsulated within the cockpit-like compartment to have an aerodynamically optimized shape for minimum drag.

In more ways than not this Pininfarina concept seems like a modernized hot rod ready for any drag race challenges. Of course, the electric motor can provide the needed torque for short sprints but if think it’ll beat anyone on the Le Mans Circuit de la Sarthe track, you’ll be disappointed. Coming onto the swingarm suspension ensures easy turning and maneuverability at respectable speeds. The luxury compact mini car is made for short trips in the metropolis and the city limits.

That elevated rear section and the muted front section make it a treat to drive with a more than optimal view for the driver. This EV carries Pinnifarina’s signature design language in a clean hue that complements the aggressive yet classy stance, and it shows.

Pininfarina’s latest Electric SUV has a 692-mile maximum range… and a strangely familiar name

Meet the Polestones 01. Not to be confused with the Volvo-owned EV marque Polestar, this particular brand of electric vehicles comes from China… Shanghai, specifically. The Polestones 01’s design can be credited to the iconic automotive design outfit Pininfarina’s Shanghai branch. The Polestones 01’s design takes on the visage of a Land Rover Defender-esque 7-seater SUV, but boasts a few clever features like dual-axle electric powertrains that get further supplemented by a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine. Clearly designed for outdoor-enthusiasts with range-anxiety, the Polestones 01 has a ‘claimed’ maximum range of 692 miles when supplemented by the petrol engine, and boasts a complete outdoor kitchen built into its tailgate, along with a fold-out gazebo that I genuinely hope becomes a standard fixture in SUVs and Pickups moving forward…

Designer: Pininfarina Shanghai

Let’s cut to the chase: The Polestones 01 isn’t shy about its ambitions. Designed by the renowned Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina, this seven-seat behemoth marries the classic boxy aesthetics with modern technology. With two length options, accommodating either six or seven passengers, it caters to both family outings and adventure-seekers. At its heart lies a range-extender powertrain, a symphony of two electric motors harmonizing with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine. The result? A robust 350kW of power and 740Nm of torque, capable of propelling the 01 from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in a mere 5.5 seconds. While its electric-only range stands at 234km (145 miles), invoke the petrol engine, and you’re looking at a staggering 1113km (692 miles) journey.

A comprehensive array of six cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and not one, but three LiDAR units stand guard, ensuring a secure and informed drive. This level of detail extends to its suppliers as well; industry giants like Bosch, CATL, Continental, Valeo, and of course, Pininfarina, have all played a part in bringing this vision to life.

But here’s where it gets deliciously interesting: the Polestones 01 features a camper-van style kitchen right in its tailgate. You’ve got a deployable kitchen neatly tucked in the tailgate, complete with an induction cooktop and water dispenser, all shielded by a fold-out gazebo. Inside, the six-seat variant boasts individually reclining seats and a roof-mounted dropdown screen, transforming the cabin into a mobile lounge. Opt for the seven-seater, and you’re treated to a transformational space that converts into a king-sized bed.

The dual-infotainment system separates function from recreation, allowing the driver to focus on the details that matter, and a larger screen for the rear occupants to enjoy a nice movie while on a long roadtrip.

Yet, for all its grandeur, the Polestones 01 doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It enters a market increasingly enamored with the boxy, rugged charm of vehicles like the Land Rover Defender. It joins the ranks of other Chinese contenders like the Tank 300 and Haval Raptor, each vying for a piece of the global automotive pie. However, what sets it apart is that bold blend of classic design, cutting-edge technology, an unapologetic nod to luxury that might just turn heads and shift perceptions of Chinese automotive innovation, and that fold-out gazebo that gets extra points for creativity. As it gears up for its debut, the industry watches with bated breath, wondering whether this blend of old-school charm and new-age tech will resonate with the global consumer.

Pininfarina designs super exclusive iPhone 13 Pro, 14 Pro cases you can customize to match your ride

After the sassiest and most stylish cars, Pininfarina, an ace Italian design house, is now collaborating in the far east to deliver the most desirable iPhone case for motorheads. The cases designed in partnership with Japanese startup INKAR are perhaps the most incredible choice if you have the means and zeal to burn 10 grands for a way to protect your iPhone.

Boasting top-notch craftsmanship and immaculate detail in design, the Pininfarina x INKAR iPhone Cases are made to order. The buyers have the option to configure these cases to match their supercar if they like.

Designer: Pininfarina and INKAR

According to Pininfarina, the cases are visually inspired by the Ferrari 512S Modulo, and the limited-edition covers are made to order in Italy. The accessories are strictly limited to iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro only for now.

Since Pininfarina’s idea is to allow buyers to receive an iPhone case that is designed to match their car; the buyers have a choice to choose their preferred color for the case – from a range of five distinct options – and can even select lens trim leathers. Even more exciting is the option of black plate materials that a buyer can select. These choices range from carbon fiber to leather and from aluminum to wood.

Despite your selection of color and the base plate material, each Pininfarina x INKAR iPhone Case is distinctly numbered for exclusivity. The serial number is engraved into the case. For the techier ones, every iPhone case comes with an NFT that provides access to INKAR’s exclusive membership program and early access to the Japanese brand’s forthcoming products. As the cases are limited to only 99 models of each iPhone 13 Pro and 14 Pro smartphones, these are steeply priced at $10,000 apiece, and expected to be available starting December 1.

This transparent hull Pininfarina Capitolo catamaran oozes luxury + airiness for leisure in style

A swanky catamaran embodied with the Pininfarina influence is designed for leisure in utmost luxury while having secluded spaces for some me-time.

Italian design house Pininfarina is known to push the limits of creativity and innovation for a variety of fields – automotive being one of them. The Turin-based firm has seen its fair share of yacht designs and now automotive exterior designer Samuele Errico Piccarini and yacht designer C have joined forces to propose a Pininfarina branded yacht for the influential and demanding clients. Ones like 45 years old Ryu Cardoso who founded a textile company in Japan. The designers have a very clear motive – to design a yacht for the CEO that caters to his liking of jujutsu, yoga and free swimming.

Hence comes to life this Pininfarina catamaran yacht is inspired by the SEVENTY 7 catamaran and the Sunreef 80 sailing leisure yacht. Christened Capitolo, the yacht adapts the best of both these incredible watercrafts to bring to the fore a luxurious and comfortable experience for the client and his friends. It is highlighted by a transparent design on the sides as well as the front to give the occupants a clear view of the seas they intend to travel on. There is plenty of space on the deck of the multihull to soak up the sun on the sunbeds or set up a barbeque or jacuzzi.

The interior is dominated by an open-plan layout to satiate the needs of Ryu’s requirements. There’s plenty of light courtesy of the clear view panoramic design of the hull. Ambient lighting is done in a way to make the owner and his friends feel at home in utmost luxury. Although the designers have not provided any information about the technical specifications of the Pininfarina Capitolo, I assume it will run hybrid power-assisted by the big sails on top. Overall is a sleekly designed catamaran set to ride on the serene waters for an unparalleled experience.

Award-winning automotive + architecture design with an Instagram-inspired gallery to showcase the users style!

Pavilion is a flexible, architectural space designed as a moving vehicle where users can generate personal galleries to be displayed to the world.

The need to express yourself is real. From the dawn of time, self-expression has been the catalyst for works of art and cultural landmarks that help define the human experience. Today, social media undoubtedly plays a major role in newfound modes of self-expression and bridging culture and craft across the world.

Inspired by the ways humans express themselves, Junu Kim was recently recognized by DesignWanted with an award at Pininfarina’s “New Dreams for a New World” competition for his architecture and Instagram-inspired Pavilion, a car concept that doubles as an ‘Ego Gallery.’

Serpentine Pavilion in London’s Kensington Garden selects and presents architectural artworks on a yearly basis, meant to exhibit each architect’s unique vision and artistic philosophy. Motivated to scale that showcase down to an automobile concept, Junu Kim’s Pavilion allows anyone to display their personal gallery on a moving vehicle for the world to take in their distinct personality, in a similar fashion to the Serpentine Pavilion.

Closely resembling a storefront window, Kim’s Pavilion would allow users to display objects and 3D images for onlookers to understand their personality as if they were scrolling through their Instagram grid. Envisioned in jade green, the automobile is a transparent four-wheeler that features a seating compartment for one person and a display case for each user’s gallery that’s bordered with wooden paneling.

Inspired by Dieter Rams’ take on modern architecture, Kim’s Pavilion features round edges and dramatic lines that flow seamlessly together. Equipped with everything from hologram interfaces and furniture constructed from marble, Kim’s Pavilion concept is the type of car designed for the future.

Combined with the panning 46-inch ViewSonic screens for visual awesomeness, you are in for the ride of your life once the engines start.

It is befitting that the simulator carries a price tag of approximately $7,130 (6,000 euros). Though you can only get a seat aboard one in 2021 when it is slated to be available!

Pininfarina debuts ultra-rare $2.9 million version of its electric hypercar

Is Pininfarina's Battista electric hypercar just not exclusive enough for you? You're in luck. The Italian automaker has unveiled a special Battista Anniversario variant that pushes the EV even further. It still revolves around that 1,900HP quad-m...

The Pininfarina Battista: Italy’s most powerful car ever

pininfarina_battista_1

When you create a car that literally is made to stand at the pinnacle of your legacy, you give it a special christening. Pininfarina has unveiled their most powerful automobile yet. Named after the person who began it all, the car (which was referred to as Project PF0 until now) is being called Pininfarina Battista, after the company’s founder, Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina.

The Battista seals Pininfarina’s reputation as one of the leading automotive design studios in the world. It’s touted to be Italy’s most powerful and fastest car ever made, with a 1,900 horsepower electric drivetrain, a top speed in excess of 350km/h, a 0-100km/h acceleration that’s under 2 seconds, and an impressive range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge. The hypercar’s highly anticipated design still remains under wraps (quite literally), but a few renders showcase what it may look like. The razor-thin headlights and taillights do get the heart racing, don’t you think?!

The Battista sits at the top of Pininfarina’s legacy of delivering some of the most sublime cars ever (especially with their long and fruitful partnership with Ferrari in the past), but is the first car Pininfarina has produced under their own brand name. Making a promise of delivering Pininfarina’s signature combination of high-class design and future-forward engineering, the car is said to be “a sustainably-developed, zero-emissions hypercar that represents the progression Automobili Pininfarina will make at the pinnacle of the luxury and sports car market.”

The car sports a powertrain developed by the Croatian company Rimac, and a battery pack that sits within a bespoke carbon fibre monocoque, with a charge time of 0% to 80% in under 40 minutes. The Battista will be limited to a run of 150 units, with 50 allocated to Europe, 50 to the US, and a further 50 for the middle and far east, and should debut around the autumn of 2020, for the lucky 150 customers that book their unit in advance on the website!
