This e-Trailer with 200W Solar Panels turns into an electric motorboat for limitless travel anywhere

If you thought there was no niche for amphibious camper vehicles, one brand name is out and about – largely by itself – gunning to make bike camper trailers, that float with equal efficacy, a norm for you and me. After a couple of iterations in the past, and a name change in between; BeTriton has released a teaser video of its new boat + camper trailer called the Green E-Trailer.

Green E-Trailer is exactly what the name suggests: a bright-green colored e-bike trailer, which bears a likeliness to the full-fledged BeTriton 2.0. It was based on the customer feedback received for the first iteration BeTriton e-bike trailer. It stripped down some of the unnecessary elements, retaining the cabin for two and a pet, and now the ‘Green’ model puts a pop-up hard roof on it.

Besides the configuration and tweaks inside, what the BeTriton 2.0 really changed was the ability of the trailer to ride behind any option of an e-bike, instead of an integrated bike that the first model mandated. From how it appears, even though the information is scanty, the Green E-Trailer follows the same construction ideology.

So, here is the BeTriton’s lime green electric trailer you can easily tow behind an e-bike with its 250W hub motor and carry the hauling bike along on the water without a flinch. For this adventure on the waves, the trailer is powered by a 2150W boat motor, which can go, potential on an unlimited range, courtesy of the 200W solar panel onboard. The solar array is installed on the pop-up roof making it a better-performing and more feature-rich rig than the previous BeTrition e-trailers.

The video does not mention the speed at which the boat camper can go, but it is evident that the Green BeTriton is capable of carrying a couple, their pet, and a towing bike on a water adventure when you’re tired of pedaling on the land. Whether you are convinced by the idea of an amphibious electric trailer or not, BeTriton is bringing the green peach for preorder. So, what do you think about this?

Ferrari Alto ANGEL electric concept is a fluid roadster with the muscle of a hypercar

Ferrari SF90 Stradale PHEV has already set the platform for future electric vehicles coming from the house of the Italian automotive giant. The three electric motors mated to the V8 internal combustion engine of the sports car give it a maximum output of 1000cv. Going fully electric will be one of the major goals for Ferrari, and they’ve promised one is coming in the fourth quarter of 2025.

What this EV will look like or exactly be (supercar, sportscar, roadster, or hypercar) is not exactly clear. What is known so far from the filed patents by the Italian marque is the indication of a two-seater sports car that will have a rear mid-engine layout for it to have a lower stance resulting in better aerodynamics. Although it is just one calculated guess we have got just the right concept to build on this speculation.

This is the Ferrari Alto ANGEL two-seater roadster concept that fits right in the puzzle board of what the Ferrari EV 2025 could be. The ride has a low ground clearance, the signature brand silhouette, flowing aerodynamic design and a rear that is most definitely a prancing horse loaded with ample electric power. The hourglass shape running from the front of the EV to the rear gives it a definition that’s evoking. The air intakes on the hood and the side pods further add dynamism to this Ferrari concept.

The panoramic windshield flows to the back with a geometric body panel with a shark fin fusing the two. The cool sea-green headlights run right across the front section that has a futuristic grille right beneath it. The rear has a similar flowing silhouette of brake lights integrated right across the spoiler and continuing with two light bars at both ends. Those wheels are very muscular, loaded on industrial-themed rims that look absolutely dope.

I’m drooling all over this Ferrari EV roadster and if the real thing looks anything close to this it’ll be a big hit. Compare it against the likes of the Tesla Roadster, Pininfarina Battista, Maserati GranTurismo Folgore or Lamborghini Terzo Millenio; and every time my heart will say the Ferrari Alto ANGEL!

Polestar Fenrir is a sophisticated electric hot rod straight from the Hot Wheels universe

Polestar as an electric car manufacturer has taken the heat to Tesla in the last few years. The Swedish brand has proved its metal with the Polestar 2 EV, even when stacked against the Tesla Model 3. There’s a whole lot to like and the brand is evolving in the right direction.

The Polestar 6 slated for production in 2026 as an open-top grand tourer has got the challenge very well accepted for future dominance, at least in the electric roadster domain. We though, are always on the hunt for something larger than life in the concept world. Just like this Hot Wheels-inspired Polestar hot rod that would be perfect for the Japanese street racing scene.

This electric concept named Polestar Fenrir imagined for the 2024 Polestar design contest hits the nail right on its head with the Hot Wheels theme. That’s because the contest is done in collaboration with Hot Wheels. The only doubt in Henrique’s mind was if the vehicle should be a Monster Truck, Surf Van or Dune Buggy. Ultimately he went for the obvious choice of a hot rod, since Hot Wheels is all about cool street racers. The idea was to fuse the Hot Rod DNA to a modern electric car aesthetic that the designer creatively achieved with the form.

The contours are maintained at the right places while the heavy influence of an EV is not ignored at all. Muscular element also follows in with a forward-leaning stance that’s exemplified by the fat rear, both in the body and the size of the wheels. This broadening stance from the front to the back makes space for a unique two-seater configuration. The low ride height barely enough to slip through a sheet of paper means the hot rod will have to avoid any bumps or speed breakers.

The designer expresses the creation as a 2-seater hot rod with some goofiness and playful feelings. He adds that the Polestar Fenrir is a well-proportionated EV racer with minimal lines and shapes that complement the Polestar’s visual identity. Surely we second that thought and a Polestar concept of the future could draw inspiration from this model.

NFS-inspired DAB 1 Alpha electric bike touts a recyclable battery and wireless charger

DAB Motors has slowly emerged into the industry from its French roots, and now challenges the arena with a new electric two-wheeler. The Concept-E we saw a couple of years ago as a prototype, has finally graduated into a production-ready version, the DAB 1α motorbike. This final version matches (or even betters) the initial design and the technical specs proposed initially for the electric bike.

The brand was bought by Peugeot Motorcycles in 2023, and the developmental path has resulted in this model being inspired by the BMX culture, video games, Sci-Fi world and trail bikes. It took almost five years to bring the electric bike from the concept stage to production. For early adopters, the first batch of 400 limited edition units will come with unique design elements.

Designer: DAB Motors

DAB 1α is completely built at the Bayonne design studio and manufactured in the Beaulieu-Mandeure. The inclusion of retro gaming elements like the blue Nitro button inspired by the NFS franchise, adds spice to this future-forward ride. The company is touting a top speed of 130 km/h, most of which is attributed to its lightweight 125 kg body. Of course, all the gears and clutch are gone, so that you just press the throttle and focus ahead on the road. The bike is practical for use as it can be charged via a normal socket or a Type 2 charging port.

For the rider’s user experience, the 2.8-inch LCD screen displays important riding information. There’s respectable storage space in the  3.4-liter glove compartment, and buyers can choose to install a wireless charger designed in collaboration with Quadlock. To make sure the bike is futureproof, the company has fitted it with a powertrain mated to a fully recyclable and dismountable recyclable battery.

The inclusion of back pegs shows DAB Motors’ considerate attention to detail for the pillion. Coming on to the unique design elements, the numbered gold plate on the handlebar, handcrafted Alcantara seat, and subtle graphics make sure your DAB 1α stands out in the crowd. It’s worth mentioning the golden suspensions are designed in collaboration with Paioli and the forged carbon parts upcycled from Airbus carbon fiber. As seen form the visuals, the brake calipers are designed by Brembo, and the mated ABS braking system comes from the inhouse Peugeot Motocycles and DAB Motors’s brake disks.

DAB 1α which looks perfect for millennials, Gen-Z and everyone in between is available right now for reservations. The gearless electric bike is available in W-White or MGT-Grey color variants, and if you want to buy one, now is the right time.

MG EXE181 electric hypercar has an insanely low drag coefficient to hunt down speed records

MG Motor has again got its sights set on land speed records, and move beyond the sports car arena. The British marque owned by the Shanghai-based SAIC Motor, has revealed the first teaser look of the EXE181 hypercar concept that will make its maiden appearance at the Auto China 2024.

The sleek hypercar has a balanced futuristic design fused with the inspirational record-setting racers from the 1950s. In fact, the sleek hypercar draws inspiration from the experimental car by MG dubbed EX181. The UFO-like aerodynamic classic racer was powered by a 1.5-liter twin-cam engine that produced 300 hp and had its crosshair set on the land speed record of that time. The dome-shaped vehicle eventually broke it in October 1959, clocking 254.91 mph top speed at the Bonneville Salt Flats

The new iteration of the classic record breaker has its name and the teardrop shape in common but other dynamics have drastically changed. This hypercar is more stylized for the year 2024 and is propelled by an electric drivetrain. The smooth elongated shape doesn’t look out of place and ends as a longtail when viewed from the side profile. The ride height is just a few millimeters from the ground, suggesting its racing DNA. Both the longtail design and the low ride height lend the hypercar an unbelievably low drag coefficient of 0.81.

There’s no word on the technical specifications of the hypercar but we believe it’s going to churn out 1,000 hp with ease. The only thing we know so far from MG’s official release is that the EXE181 will go from zero to 62 mph in a mere 1.9 seconds. That would make this hypercar the fastest off-the-line car on the planet. Top speed figures have also been kept in the dark so far, but we can expect it to at least break the 254.91 mph barrier set by its inspiration.

Such is the optimization of the vehicle that it supersedes the likes of Volkswagen XL1 and McLaren Speedtail having a drag coefficient of 0.199 and 0.278 respectively. The single-seater arrangement instantly puts one in the zone for competitive racing. There’s a yoke-style steering wheel and a touchscreen display to show all the HUD elements.

Don’t expect the MG EXE181 hypercar to hit the production lines anytime soon. Although, do expect to see this good-looking concept emerge as a prototype at the Beijing Motor Show 2024.

This WILD all-terrain motorbike has tread-wheels for adventures in the most inhospitable environments

The moment I laid eyes on this unique motorbike (or should I say snowmobile) it was evident the vehicle is made for the most inhospitable conditions and terrain. Perhaps, the ideal ride for post-apocalyptic times where survival of the fittest is the new order.

This is the Unitrack electric all-terrain vehicle designed and developed by Oruga SIA, a Mobility Tech startup in Latvia. The three-wheeled motorbike with three ballooned wheels employs the company’s proprietary patent-pending monotrack tech, specifically developed to take on the “diverse challenging terrains, from hot sand and muddy forests to rocky climbs and snowy landscapes.” Will it be able to disrupt the Rokon dominance, who is known for designing the most resourceful pack mules and mototractors, is something we’ll know only when the Unitrack is set to the test in real-world conditions.

If you’re thinking the vehicle is just a pipedream with just a prototype and concept designs to back its claim, well, they are prepping for a mid-2025 manufacturing deadline with sales beginning shortly after that. Oruga is accepting pre-orders for the rig that promises its ease of use for varying sectors including first responders and outdoor adventurers. Turing this thing on tight corners is a breeze as the contact point of the wheel in between bends on the sections when steering input is received. Although the vehicle has a turning radius of around 6 meters, it should be easy to maneuver in most circumstances.

It can even drive in reverse which is an added perk when you’re stuck in a tight spot. However, I’m not that convinced about the idea of a steering system turning the wheel that’s off the ground. That said, it does have some advantages compared to the existing 200cc four-stroke Rokon. There are eco-conscious selection of tools for paramedics, military and first responders. Coming onto the power delivery of the EV, it has a 90kW motor with the option to choose from two versions – Nude 150 kg and Heavyweight 300kg. The machine achieves a range of 62 miles on a single charge, and that number can be extended to 124 miles in the hybrid mode.

Oruga claims a top speed of 60mph be it driving on sand, snow, gravel or rocky climbs. Unlike the noisy gasoline-powered snowmobiles this will not disturb the peace of the wilderness since it is an electric vehicle. Surprisingly, there’s no working model right now to assess the Unitrack’s claim, but we’re expecting a version to soon be available. Most prospective buyers will only put in their hard-earned savings on this if they see a real-life demo of the thing.

Maserati Unveils GranCabrio Folgore all-electric four-door convertible touting 270 miles range

Virtually every carmaker on the planet is making the sensible transition to clean energy and Maserati is no different. Now the luxury vehicle manufacturer has revealed its drop-top electric vehicle which now becomes the third all-electric car in the line-up. The GranCabrio Folgore convertible is one of the world’s first electric four-seater of its kind based on the gas-powered GranTurismo Folgore.

The gorgeous beast comes with a tri-motor (300kW magnet motors) electric powertrain that churns out 818 horsepower and approximately 1,000 lb-ft of torque. It’s worth mentioning, that the EV is based on the 800V technology adapted from Formula E. That makes it capable of reaching a top speed of 180 mph and 0-62 mph in just 2.8 seconds.

The drop-top performance EV has a WLTP-rated range of 260-277 miles on a single full charge. The Italian marque is also promising a maximum charge speed of 270 kW. That means a charge of just 10 minutes will get you 120 miles of range. The convertible top mode operates at up to a speed of 31 mph and retracts in mere 14 seconds. Noticeably, the contraption takes very little space to preserve boot space for hauling luggage.

If you are wondering how the GranCabrio manages those classic proportions despite being and EV, well, that is attributed to the T-shaped lithium-ion battery pack positioned between and behind the passengers. This eliminates the traditional seating position of EVs that’s more of a tall-in-the-saddle category. On the inside, the EV’s cabin is laden in premium inserts, a luxe ambiance, tech inclusions and the use of eco-friendly materials make it a sweet deal. Maserati has paid much attention to detail for the Econyl seats that come with laser-etched perforations for visual attractiveness.

The front seats come with 18-way adjustable freedom and neck warmers for chilly weather conditions. That steering wheel is wrapped in leather and complements the brushed aluminum paddle shifters. The 12.2-inch digital gauge cluster is paired with the 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, heads-up display, and a 16-speaker Sonus Faber sound system. Maserati is offering the EV in a staggered wheel-and-tire package that has 20-inch fronts and 21-inch rears. These can be chosen in six different wheel designs and four different finishes.

Someone looking for a performance electric convertible has got their wish granted as the Maserati GranCabrio is slated to hit the showrooms in early 2025. Of course, it’ll come at a steep price tag of approximately $200,000!

This hybrid adventure motorbike with balloon tires can take on any tough terrain with ease

There’s something about motorbikes with fat tires that makes them exceptionally interesting. Either it’s a perceived notion that they are more suited for all-terrain adventures or their beefy tire set makes them seemingly more durable than the rest. Either way, it’s a fact that fat-tire bikes are more suited for slippery, sandy or snowy terrain. The Arsenale have reincarnated their 2×2 Ultrabike in a new avatar because the two-wheeler somehow failed to capture attention at its maiden attempt. The improved and rebranded Plan B (the name says it all) is a second strive to pique interest in the cross-country off-road adventure bike genre.

What’s not going to go down well with prospective buyers is that the 2×2 bike costs $2,000 while the Plan B motorbike is priced at $15,000. That’s an exorbitant inflated value even though this newer version comes with added upgrades and tech improvements. Tough, we’re hoping for a lauded set of improvements, and a more affordable price tag in consequent versions.

The balloon-tired motorbike retains its electric powertrain DNA in a low-power hybrid gas/electric format, powering the 2WD system. The bike touts an ultra-long range of more than 200 miles (depending on driving style and terrain) as it is more lightweight now. Even though it doesn’t look production-ready compared to the likes of Rokon, if everything goes well, it could lure buyers who are seeking a reliable adventure bike that’s easy to maneuver and promises a long range. But that price tag when compared against the $10,250 MotoTracktor by Rokon still is a deal breaker.

The form, as seen in the pictures looks impressive and we’re eager, as to how the thing will look in real life. That ride height is quite assuring of its capability to take on any rough surface, and the chunky tires look good to take on any abrasive surface without suffering multiple punctures. The on-board batteries sit right beneath the rider’s sitting position and the electric motor. For the hybrid function when the batteries are short on charge and there’s no charging station in sight, the hybrid drivetrain kicks into action.

In its current state, the e-bike is still raw compared to other offerings that have proven their mettle for some years now. The reliability for first mover advantage is also going to factor in as the Plan B is factually still a “Plan B” by the brand with little proven testing.

Lamp posts become EV charging stations in innovative startup concept

Having an electronic vehicle is becoming a bit more common, although still not as prevalent as we would like it to be. There are a lot of reasons why some are still hesitant about adapting to this more eco-friendly kind of cars. Aside from the price tag, charging your vehicle overnight is still not as easy especially if you don’t have a garage or driveway. You have to look for charging stations near your place but you probably won’t be able to do your charging overnight. A startup aims to solve that problem by utilizing trusty old lamposts.

Since street lamposts are pretty common, this New York City startup is proposing to retrofit these existing lamposts and use them to charge electric vehicles. They designed a shroud that will cover the lower part of the lamposts and inside you have various cables and electronic devices to juice up the cars that need them. You have retractable cables that can anchor up to eight feet off the ground and a hand level charger dock. It is also modular and can be installed in an hour and can be repaired easily.

For newbies to the EV game, charging your car here is as easy as plug and play. There’s an app where you can oversee the charging of your vehicle and it is also where you will pay for the service. You can also use it to reserve your spot in case you know the schedule when you need to recharge your vehicle and you don’t want to compete with other EV owners. Even the installation of these chargers on the lamposts is pretty easy and takes just an hour based on their initial tests.

Voltpost has finished a test with the New York City Department of Transportation and they are currently in different stages of development with other cities specifically Chicago, Detroit, and New York. This is something that will be pretty useful to encourage more people to switch to EVs, especially if they don’t have space in their houses to do their own charging. We look forward to the day when EVs are as common as hybrid or regular cars and having a more convenient way to power up is a step towards that.

This Solar-powered Cargo EV Offers 80% of the Cybertruck’s Storage Space for 8% of the price

Sure, there’s no realm in which the Bako B1 should ever be compared to a pickup truck – but when it comes to storage, efficiency, and just being an all-round great cargo transportation vehicle, the numbers really begin adding up. With a €4000 price tag, the B1 models itself on an electric trike, with three wheels that make it resemble the Asian tuktuk or rickshaw. However, what’s notably different about the B1’s design is its solar panel top, which powers the vehicle’s electric drivetrain, giving you an overall operating expense of $0.50 per 60 miles (100 kilometers) and a top range of 93 miles (150 kilometers) on a full charge. That makes the Bako B1 an incredibly energy-efficient vehicle for transporting cargo, which you obviously don’t need me to tell you results in lowered logistical costs and overall prices all around!

The trike’s relatively boxy form has its own justification – designed not as a human-transporting vehicle but rather a cargo-transporting one, the relatively rectangular form factor helps store items inside more efficiently. The 2433-liter rear compartment is just slightly shy of the Cybertruck’s 2,831-liter storage space in the back (when used with the tonneau cover), making it perfect for transporting all sorts of goods in a last-mile setting.

The Bako B1 sports a 3000W electric motor on the inside, capable of hauling a 300-kilogram payload (not including the driver, obviously) at a max speed of 45 km/h. An inner LiFePO4 battery gives the B1 a max range of 93 miles or 150 kilometers, and charges in as little as 3 hours with fast-charging, or 6 hours under regular charging circumstances.

Even for a cargo delivery vehicle modeled on the format of a tuktuk or rickshaw, the Bako B1 doesn’t really cut corners on driver comfort or experience. The driver cabin is small but spacious, with the option of including a GPS, an entertainment system, and even an air conditioner. You’ve even got the option of installing a rear camera to give the driver full blind-spot visibility while parking or reversing.

The Bako B1 isn’t just eco-friendly and economical; it’s also practical. With a substantial cargo capacity exceeding 2,400 liters and the ability to carry up to 350 kilograms, the B1 is well-suited for hauling goods around busy urban environments. Bako Motors recognizes the potential of this design and is already committed to expanding its product line. Their next offering will be a four-wheeled electric vehicle specifically designed to tackle the challenges of last-mile delivery.
