The Humane AI Pin garnered a lot of attention for how cool it was when it debuted. An AI lapel pin that you can talk to, and that projects information on your palm as well as takes pictures. Sounds incredible, but the rationale changes when you’re forced to buy one. You forget how cool it is and start thinking of whether the product makes sense – and therein lies the entire problem. Marques Brownlee made a video not too long ago, mentioning that the Humane AI Pin (in its current iteration) was the worst product he’d ever reviewed. The pin was slow, bulky, had battery woes, and was inconsistently bad at its AI features… but most importantly, it was a solution looking for a problem. The pin tried to become the smartphone’s replacement without really considering whether the smartphone actually needed replacing. That’s where the Limitless AI Pin is proving to be very different. There’s no feature that seems unnecessary, nothing that’ll completely drain your battery even when you’re not using it.

If you think about it, there’s really no reason a mirrorless camera has to be as big as it is. Without pissing off the photography community, a GoPro is nothing but a smaller version of the mirrorless camera. It uses the same technology of light directly hitting a sensor to capture an image; and the only real difference is the fact that compact action cameras have slightly smaller sensors, and don’t have interchangeable lenses… so Samuel Mello Medeiros decided to change things. The ‘Yashica – I’m Back’ camera is as small as a stack of playing cards, but packs a Sony CMOS sensor that captures 4K video and 12MP images. Despite its size, the camera doesn’t compromise on features – it comes with 3 interchangeable lenses, the option of adding a larger battery, a flash hot-shoe on the top that lets you also attach a shotgun microphone or other accessories, and yes, WiFi capabilities so you can share your photos directly to your smartphone once they’re captured.

Sure, the ergonomics are a little challenging considering the size, but the camera is a healthy balance between tiny and powerful, sitting at the intersection between convenient smartphone photography, and advanced camera photography.

The micro-mirrorless camera banks on Yashica’s 75-year history in the camera business. In my opinion, where the GoPro went wrong was in cementing itself into the action camera box. With just a wide-angle lens and nothing else, there wasn’t much you could do with a GoPro than basic vlogging activities… but that isn’t the case with the Yashica – I’m Back. The camera comes with a standard 8.6mm lens that’s comparable to a 50mm lens for a normal camera, a 75° wide-angle lens, and a 25mm telephoto lens (which actually translates to 150mm on a normal camera), with the ability to manually focus on images to get that gorgeous depth of field in your images and videos. That isn’t all, a simple adapter lets you attach a whole host of third-party lenses, including ones for SLR, DLSR, and mirrorless cameras from leading brands. Medeiros and his team are also working on giving the camera macro capabilities using the standard 8.6mm lens, which would just make the camera an all-round photography powerhouse.

At its core, Drop Light is a marriage of fluid curves and steadfast solidity. The lampshade, characterized by its dynamic contours and shifting perspectives, finds synergy with cylindrical solid wood support. This juxtaposition of ethereal lightness and grounded stability encapsulates the essence of Lee’s design philosophy, inviting viewers to contemplate the interplay between form and function.
There’s something about gamers that reflects in their overall persona and living space. You can walk into a home and instantly tell it’s a gamer’s den. IKEA wants to condition this perception by making a gamer’s living space more accommodating and comfortable for their non-gaming family members or close pals. Taking a detour from the usual dark-themed setups, the BRÄNNBOLL collection of gaming furniture fuses the best of both worlds.
This subtle collection of 20 versatile items makes even more sense as gaming-themed interiors or furniture items are draped in dark-colored hues. Even IKEA’s previous gaming-themed ROG collection was following the norm. This time around the Swedish multinational wants to concentrate more on the simplistic color schemes that are relevant even when you are not gaming, or when other members of the family are around. According to IKEA, the colors used in this collection are inspired by athleisure and street sports. They’ve balanced these hues with neutral and bright colors, so that they easily mix with the modern home interior design.
According to Ikea product design developer Philip Dilé, the collection is about “making it simple for people to create spaces that adapt to gaming, living, and everything in between.” Coming on to the new collection, there is a desk, chairs, storage solutions and accessories that’ll not only appeal to gamers, but also normal users. A deeper insight into the collection reveals a focus on seating. There’s a fold-out armchair that converts into a lounge for playing intense Battle Royale titles, a rocking-style chair for relaxed gaming in utmost comfort, and an inflatable donut chair having a footstool for casual arcade games.
The most luring item in this collection for me is the gaming station that folds away to resemble a contemporary cupboard. It’s like a hidden portal to your gaming island, only revealed when you are in the mood for some serious gaming on your PC or gaming console. The unit includes a foldable tabletop, cable management system, cleverly incorporated PC tower storage, side table that doubles as a storage box and shelves. IKEA has included textile accessories including a mousepad, a throw and a rug to make your PC gaming a satisfying experience every time you open the cabinet doors.
The collection comes with a rollable side table with pegboard customizations to keep your handheld device, gadgets controllers, headphones and of course popcorn basket. Other than this, BRÄNNBOLL collection has the option to pick up wall-mounted display shelves to show off your collectibles and merchandise. There’s no word about the pricing or availability of the collection, but it is expected to be slated to be released in September this year. We should have more information coming in the months leading up to the release, and we are already excited.

3. Centenniale Coffee Table

The coffee table is named Whisk because as you look at it closer, the simple and twisted metallic form of the coffee table reminds you of a whisk! But besides looking like a whisk, it also looks like a contorted safety pin, truly lending an eccentric feel to your living space.

5. Studio Nuño’s Coffee Table
Designed by Studio Nuño, this coffee table uses a new kind of joinery which reduces the assembly time to just a few minutes! However, this joinery does not hamper the structural strength of the coffee table, nor does it compromise its ability to bear the weight of everyday use. The end result is a unique coffee table that can be set up with ease while holding all your prized possessions!
Why is it noteworthy?
All you need to do is insert the legs into the slots beneath the tabletop, slide in a supporting piece, and screw that piece using an Allen wrench. The legs are available in three or four pieces for the coffee table, and the side table, so you don’t need to worry about confusing combinations.

6. LOOPS
Called LOOPS, this collection of coffee tables is designed to push the boundaries of 3D printing, and in turn build products that are larger than typical 3D-printed objects, but without the need for the extra hardware. The designer utilizes different geometric shapes with organic forms to create the tables, making it seem as if they’re growing before your eyes.
Why is it noteworthy?
The coffee tables are beautiful specimens of 3D printing and sustainable design. The tabletops have been crafted from 100% recycled plastic which is crushed, melted, and molded from used plastic! While the 3D printed bases are derived from a composite material containing cellulose from responsible forestry.

The base and top can be recycled once the table reaches its end of use

7. R24 Coffee Table & Stool
Paula Valentini married her training and experience in art and urban planning to create the R24 Coffee Table and Stool. She designed the pieces for GANDIABLASCO, and the two-piece set features a sculptural and artistic beauty to it. Through the table and the stool, she wanted to explore textile architecture on a smaller and more manageable scale.
Why is it noteworthy?
“The image of the weightlessness of bodies held in space and the intention to explore structural fabrics became the guiding light of the project. Through R24 I evoke sensations and images like the evanescence of a bailiff’s wing. It is a useful object and it is also a work in space,” said Valentini.

8. Wormhole Coffee Table
Designed by Olivier Gomis, this mind-boggling coffee table is his effort to transform the hypothetical wormhole into a physical manifestation. Wormholes are supposed to connect two disparate points in spacetime via a tunnel, and this coffee table is what a wormhole would look like if it ever became tangible!
Why is it noteworthy?
The table looks like a wooden plank that has been bent, allowing both ends to be placed on top of each other. They are joined together by a double cone and then glued together with sheets of maple veneer, which look like faint light lines that seem to form the grid.

The center of the hole features a lamp, which gives the table a rather creepy appearance in the dark

9. Orbit Coffee Table
The Orbit Coffee Table is really an interesting one. It includes interloping and multicolored legs, and it is inspired by the orbits you find in outer space. Think of the images in your school textbooks, the ones involving planets orbiting around the sun, and you’ll realize how similar this furniture design is to them!

The Orbit Coffee Table includes a round glass tabletop, which is supported by three oscillating glass tubes. The glass tubes intertwine, forming an interesting visual mesh, and each of them has a different color, creating a vibrant colorful sight!

Named the Circus coffee table, this unique conceptual design is created to bring people together in an interactive, fun, and active manner. The table’s shapes and materials create an almost chaotic ambiance, much like a circus. It is a wooden table with metallic components which adds some functionality to the table. The table also includes metal bars and doors on opposing sides, to form a fun contrast in terms of design.
