Reshu Rathi:

Rumors of Samsung’s camera-centric smartphone have been floating for quite some time now. However, the company has now put those rumors to rest by unveiling the Galaxy S4 Zoom officially. The device is indeed a part of the Galaxy S4 series though its phone specs fall short of the latest S4 handset. That being said, the device more than makes up for it with its stunning 16 megapixel camera that comes with Xenon flash and 10x optical zoom.

Reshu Rathi:

Twitter is undoubtedly the founder of the hashtag craze. The format of the micro blogging site did not allow people to view all the relevant content at one go which is why they invented the hashtags to make Twitter searches a lot easier. However, the format of the biggest social networking site on the face of the planet, Facebook, has always been a lot simpler and open and you can search for items on your own and others’ profile with ease.

Apple shows off all revamped iOS 7

Reshu Rathi:

Yesterday, Apple finally put all speculation to rest and unveiled the new version of the iPhone operating system. Created by Jony Ive, Apple’s famed in-house design expert, iOS 7 appears to give the smartphone a whole new look. The 3D effect that was standard in the home screen icons in previous OSes has been given up in favor of a more flat iconography. Green felt and fake leather dominated color palate has also been redone in favor of a more translucent aesthetic and the new interface shows off a more vibrant array of hues in lighter shades.

Panasonic and Fujifilm develop organic imaging sensor that doesn’t use any silicone

Reshu Rathi:

At the moment, silicon photodiodes-based digital image sensors are used in all kinds of cameras to capture light. However, researchers from Fujifilm and Panasonic are jointly working on a new kind of image sensor that would not be based on silicon at all! The new kind of image sensor technology claims to use a new organic layer instead of silicone and if its tests come out positive, it could change everything we know about imaging so far.

New HTC Tiara’s official photo leaks before formal announcement

Reshu Rathi:

The world of cellular phones has come a long way since we first got our hands on the basic Nokia and Motorola designs. These days, the launch of each new phone is accompanied not only by a bunch of rumors and speculations but also by a whole lot of controversy where various manufacturers and their teams of legal eagles keep a keen eye out for patent infringements in new designs and models being launched by rival manufacturers. The launch of the new HTC Tiara the upcoming Windows Phone 8 smartphone too faced its fair share of all the usual mayhem though the company has managed to keep it away from controversy so far.

Sony reveals PS4 design, release and pricing info

Reshu Rathi:

After receiving a lot of flak for not launching a physical model of the new PS4 video game console when it initially announced the new product in February earlier this year, Sony has finally revealed the console at the E3 2013. The new console looks a lot like the Xbox One and shares its physical design with the PlayStation 2. The partially matte, partially shiny design is somewhat slanted though the all black visage certainly looks very appealing indeed.

Zac Posen designs 24-karat gold dress worth $1.5 million

Art is not restricted to paint and canvas; fashion can be art too. We have earlier seen haute couture as a form of art with Valentine’s day flower dress entirely made of 1,725 roses, Edible chocolate gowns and most expensive designer dresses like the $275,000 gold coin gown. Now, designer Zac Posen redefines haute couture with his masterpiece, a 24-karat gold gown worth $1.5 million. The designer teamed up with Magnum Ice Cream to create a one-of-a-kind couture gown inspired by their newest Magnum Gold ice cream bar. The sleeveless gown with a plunging neckline and train designed to recreate the melting ice cream effect, is made entirely from more than 10,000 24k gold sequins in five different sizes which were hand-created from sheets of 24k gold.

Mobiado Grand Touch Executive is both an objet d’art and a phone made of Marble

Nandini Maheshwari:

UPDATE: The phone has seen over two years in the making, the longest development for any Mobiado phone, after an early prototype, the CPT001 released back in 2010. The Grand Touch uses a hybrid stone material (exotic wood or stone hybrid material). The body is CNC machined from solid materials and bonded into an aircraft aluminum composite (patent pending). The back center panel and buttons are crafted from sapphire crystal, combining for a total 50 Carats.

The Grand Touch Executive is available in 5 styles: Burl, Cocobolo, Ebony, Granite, and Marble.

Another highlight is its SIM card Mobiado key. The SIM card movement is precision assembled from complicated stainless steel components and is accessed with the specialized Mobiado Key.

The technical specs reads: 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 4.65″ display, 720 x 1280 pixels, S-AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, with 16M colors.

The luxury phone maker Mobiado is back with yet another striking creation, the CPT001 concept phone. Highlighting the creativity of Mobiado, the CPT001 is made from one piece of solid marble with gold-filled engraved letters and details. The touchscreen of the phone is fashioned from a single large piece of sapphire. The buttons and watch crown are made from solid gold, and there is a brilliant gold skeleton mechanical watch movement positioned between the “Call” and “End” buttons. Mobiado says that the concept of a marble phone may sound a bit unusual, but that’s what they call “out-of-the-box’ thinking in design. To me, it sounds kinda weird to have a phone made of marble.

The $21,000 Hot Tug Hot tub boat gives new meaning to hot-tubbing

Nandini Maheshwari:

The hot bath is one of the ancient spa traditions, which is still as popular as it was in the old times. Interestingly, marriages also used to take place in hot tubs in Roman culture. Though the perfect hot tub varied in every culture, square in Romans, round in Japanese, including the placement of the hot tubs; for example Romans preferred the hot tub setting in a garden or park, the new generation hot tub doesn’t have to be immobile. Enter Hot Tug, the wood-fired hot tub-cum-tugboat for a dip in the water like never before. Created by Frank de Bruijn, of Rotterdam, Netherlands, the little Hot Tug boat is constructed from wood and fitted with glass fiber reinforced polyester. The vessel uses a stainless steel stove with a single wall pipe so you can enjoy warm baths, out under the open sky, much like the Dutch tub, but with a difference. This staple boat comes with a drive system in place, and can be powered by either an electric motor of 2.4 KW or outboard motor.
